"Stop Touching MY Stuff" 2008-12-18 16:39:40 So, the hubby gets a wee bit bent out of shape last night because I [again] "fiddled" with his 'stuff'. No, not in THAT way!
Anyway....my hubby uses a straight razor to shave and he "rigged" up this piece of copper wire to circle around a coffee cup, in which he keeps his shaving soap. This wire holds his shaving brush and usually it sits pretty "comfy like" hanging
What A Crazy Day! 2008-12-18 16:02:21 I am so glad that today is almost over. I thought that yesterday was bad....my "puppies" (overgrown canine couch-potatoes) literally pulled me around while out on a stroll, I seemed to have forgotten almost everything I had to do, I fell into our (murky, icky, fishy) pond while adjusting the fountain spray....what a day! But whoa....today, just as bad, if not worse.
I had to run so many Read more:Crazy
Oooo Spooky.... 2008-12-18 15:48:56 As I was updating my blog today, I scrolled down to the bottom of the page and noticed that my [old] stat checker (now removed) was displaying my visitor number at 666.
I immediately checked the date, bummer, it's only the 2nd. But, at least it is October, the "spooky" month. LOL Now, if only it had been the 13th - preferably, Friday the 13th. ☺

No title 2008-12-18 15:46:15 Like many, I often wonder what my purpose is in life. I know what I like to do, what I love to do, what I want to do and what I need to do....but what am I meant to do?!
I'm told that my creative side can be breathtaking, my parenting skills are wonderful, my nurturing & care giving is superb, my culinary skills can be amazing and my passion for animals & nature is fantastic. But, sometime
"[Kinship or] Friendship" 2008-12-18 15:44:17 For a friend is someone who knows,
Someone who cares, someone who understands….
For a friend is someone who is there,
In mind, in body, in spirit,
Different ways, at different times….
For a friend is someone who shares,
A journey, a dream, a thought….
For a friend is someone who is not afraid,
To say things we want to hear, as well as things we don’t….
For a friend is you,

All Hallow's Eve 2008-12-18 15:39:56 Ahhh, Halloween, a festival that takes place on October 31st....it's my fav holiday. Most of us have enjoyed Halloween since, as children, we put on our scariest masks. However, Halloween is not all ghosts, goblins and monsters. Halloween actually evolved from ancient times....
The Celtic festival of Samhain is probably the source of present day Halloween. Their New Year began on November 1st,
Cows, Barns & Fields, Oh My.... 2008-12-18 15:30:00 I don't know why, but for some reason, I'm totally obsessed with creating images of cows, barns and fields....along with a large array of tree, leaf and sky images. I can't seem to get enough of those pesky cows and barns and fields though.
Needless to say, my Friday road trip was spent stopping, and driving, and stopping, and driving, and....especially so since my daughter & I travel on road Read more:Fields
- This & That - 2008-12-18 15:22:35 [I guess I could have also labeled this post under "Rants & Raves"] This Friday's road trip found my daughter and myself jumping around -crazily- from one topic to the next. Between dumbass drivers, my daughter's due date getting closer, beautiful fall foliage, over-active bladders, constant hunger and those damn self-destructing squirrels....our conversations & thoughts were sca
Whew! 2008-12-17 20:52:03 Almost done tweaking this blog - I'll be moving on to the next one real soon....yea!
Just want to say thanks again to all my readers for being so patient. Oh, and let me know what you think of "Red Wine & Apples" new look.
Come on weekend!!!!
Change Is Here.... 2008-12-17 20:49:20 A little over one-month ago, due to the death of someone I knew, I wrote about change. After several weeks of wondering "how to change?", I think I finally got it! My hubby and I recently 'changed' a couple of rooms in our home to give me a home-office-Studio (yahoo - long time coming). Now that I've got my new "Zen Studio" organized, it's time for me to move on to my work - wh Read more:Change
Life's Circle.... 2008-12-16 16:41:05 I believe that one of the most feared topics is aging - and I don't mean 'gracefully'.
It's scary, knowing that each of us, at some point of our lives, will grow old; possibly needing a part-time caregiver, possibly needing a full-time caregiver. We all hope that we will grow old elegantly, not needing anyone to assist us with our daily routines. But that doesn't always happen. And it doesn't Read more:Circle
Menopause Or Is It "MANOPAUSE" 2008-12-16 16:40:52 I have a short fuse. I always have. I'm [somewhat] easily distracted (blame this on my being a creative). Again, always have been. I'm pretty much a lone wolf. I kinda like it that way. But, I do have very strong tendencies to be a leader. I'm a take-charge person, especially when it comes down to business; mainly, MY business (I mean this in the literal sense, my photography, artwork & writin Read more:Menopause
What Will I Do?!!? 2008-12-16 16:40:33 This evening, my husband talked me into watching M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening". I really didn't enjoy this movie....for a few reasons. One being, I'm vegan.
What I'd like to know now is....WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT??!!
I don't want to ruin it for any of you who may not have seen the movie yet; but, to give some brief insight, the movie is based upon "plant-life hav
"To Be (myself) Or Not To Be (myself)" 2008-12-16 16:40:10 The other day my daughter and I headed to the Spirit Halloween store for our costumes for her [really cool and non-traditional] baby shower. While this store carries a large assortment of fantastic costumes & props, I must say that both my daughter and myself
were a bit "appalled" by a few of them.
I'm sure many of you have watched the Geico Caveman commercials, where one or two cav
Do You See What I See?! 2008-12-16 16:38:49 Could it be that someone who is diagnosed with something like dementia, psychosis or schizophrenia, may actually be seeing, and/or hearing, the "things" they claim to see and/or hear?! In all honesty, who are we (the "normal", the "undiagnosed", the "keep it to ourselves crew") to say?!
A few years ago, I encountered a certain few individuals who claim to b
The New Fad Diet 2008-12-16 16:38:39 After discussing diets, weight, exercise and "what is skinny" with my husband, we've both come to a conclusion....
If you ask women if they like to see their wrist bones, hip bones, collar bones, etc. protruding, the majority of them will say "yes". Not because we want to look like a skeleton, nor do we want to be confused with being anorexic, we just like the fact that "
Change 2008-12-16 16:38:07 Tonight my hubby and I attended the viewing for the wife of the contractor that my husband works with. While getting ready to leave, this traditional viewing, that both my hubby and I grew up with, was basically "picked apart" by both of us. Agreeable to the fact that a time to remember, reminisce and mourn is a good idea, nether of us felt that a wake is fair to visitors or the grieving Read more:Change
Stupid, Amusing, Rude, Funny And Just Plain Dumb 2008-12-16 16:37:26 Since June, I've been accompanying my daughter on her [every Friday] merchandising job. It's not a hard job. It's not a strenuous job. But it can be a boring job (yeah, that's nothing new) and it can get tiring (again, nothing new). Basically, her one-day-a-week job revolves around driving some 220-miles, stopping at numerous stores and delivering merchandise....this includes handling product Read more:Funny

"Stupid Me" 2008-12-16 16:35:07 After seeing, and laughing about, something that recently happened to someone else, I began to consider all the stupid, dumb things that I've done, or that have happened to me (that I can recall, to date). So, for reasons of Karma, and 'Murphy's Law', I'm fessing up to some occurrences that I wish didn't take place, or that I could forget about.

"Are We There Yet" 2008-12-16 16:33:01 A ping, a jolt,
A pain, a cry,
A whimper, a quiet moment,
A tear, a smile….
"Are we there yet?"
A small hand, a soft touch,
A warm blanket, a soothing melody.
A crawl, a stumble,
A walk, a game,
A song, a story
A tear, a smile….
"Are we there yet?"
A breakfast, a dinner,
A stroll, a lullaby.
A book, a page,
A friend, a pet,
A vacation, a year,
A tear, a smile….

Sad News 2008-12-16 16:32:38 I just wanted to let my readers know that I'll be away for a bit. The contractor that my hubby works with, well, his wife died yesterday. She was a very nice woman, a wonderful mom & grandma and an incredible wife; and much too young.
If you would, kindly send comforting thoughts to her family. Thanks....
Finally.... 2008-12-16 16:30:36 All I can say is, "It's about time". Hopefully, this is one holiday that will make it to the nations yearly calendar - whether it's celebrated the fourth Friday in November, or another chosen date. Read the news article here.
Have a great weekend everyone! Read more:Finally
