The tale of two pacmans
2007-04-15 21:24:51
Paquiao and Solis Saturday April 15th fight is included at the end of this post. The Pacmans of  sports are making noise these days in media outlets. Writers and broadcasters alike are taking much time in filtering the right words for each of these Pacmans. In United States and the NFL lovers, Adam “Pacman” Jones,a prominent cornerback of the Tenesse Titans. He has a career-high 62 tackles, one sack, 1 forced fumble, 12 deflected passes, 4 interceptions, one interception touchdowns, 14 passes defended, 440 punt return yards with 3 punt return touchdowns. As good as player as he is, Pacman Jones’  off the field issues may lead to the end of his career. He was suspended by the NFL for one year and the awful thing for him is that the NFL Players’ Association have fully supported the vastness of the suspension. Pacman Jones appeal is unlikely to be heard. Also he may no longer be a Titans next year. There is this Pacman in the other side of the globe and  his cou

2007-04-15 20:01:39
Money may not change a man, but in the long run it will will change the perception of others to the man. Others may change on the man but he has to stand up and be the same. At last Sidney Crosby in the headlines
2007-04-15 05:37:06
I posted about Sidney Crosby ’s accomplishment as the youngest in pro sports to be a scoring leader. It’s not a big circus for the media! The fact that it is in the NHL. Truly greatness is measured in the playoffs and the media catches up when a player performed a spectacular game.  I am discouraged the way this writer of ESPN who gives almost all the credit to Gary Roberts who scored and assisted the winning goal to Crosby. He eluded the fact that Crosby has really the star qualities of a player. Crosby needs to prove himself the next game. He must bring the Pittsburg Penguins to the next level. If Crosby will lead his team to victory again, the media will not be mute to recognize a rising star in the National Hockey League.

The Kiss: Charles Barkley A Gay?
2007-04-13 02:09:13
I am adding a new category in my blog, entitled Funny Sports Videos. My first post will be on Charles Barkley . The NBA’s All Star break last February was one of the most memorable for me not because of Kobe Bryant’s winning the MVP and the great dunkers who judged in the slam dunk contest like Michael Jordan, Julius Erving, and Vince Carter, but the lips-to-lips of Charles Barkley and Dick… (more…)

Shaq is Crying
2007-04-24 03:43:37
Does Shaq has the right to call out the officials in Saturday’s game? The fouls were called unfairly for Shaq. Three of them apparently weren’t foul. Those bad calls clearly affected the outcome of the game. “My intention was to just come out and be myself,” O’Neal said Saturday in the visitors’ locker room. “Until (referee) Eddie Rush derailed me. I’m just very, very frustrated with the inconsistency of what’s going on. Very, very, very frustrated. (more…)

2007-04-24 00:19:02
Follow-up tests on backup urine samples by Tour de France champion Floyd Landis found traces of synthetic testosterone, the French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported Monday. The tests on seven “B” samples clearly showed traces of the banned substance, the paper said on its Web site. Landis had insisted the follow-up tests weren’t necessary because the primary “A” samples tested negative for banned substances during the Tour.(AP) Floyd Landis tries to clean himself up but it has proven in a laboratory that he is guilty. The further he pushes himself the darker the cloud will be around him. (more…)

2007-05-01 09:52:09
The atmosphere of excitement for the New England Patriots fans is still in the corner and the feeling of awe for the NFL lovers is hard to subside. The acquisition of Randy Moss by the Patriots is still the biggest talk in the sports world. “Randy Moss? Donte Stallworth? Kelley Washington? Wes Welker? Is this even fair? Give us the ring now. Call off the season.”, says the Patriot fanatic who is full of expectation for the season. “Moss was a bad pickup. The Pats have won with discipline and grit. The Pats are turning (more…)

Jon Gruden, Don Nelson: Knowing Your Enemy Is The Key
2007-05-01 01:36:29
My friend Julio told me before the start of this series that the Golden State Warriors have a greater chances to upset the Dallas Mavericks than the Lakers against the Phoenix Suns. He was convinced that the three games which the Warriors won all of them were not fluke at all. Julio is right than Charles Barkley who predicted that the Mavericks would win 4-1. Even all the ESPN and TNT analysts couldn’t believe and are stunned of what is going on. If you are an spectator, the game Sunday night was a thriller and amazing. There may be a lot of reasons why the Warriors are leading 3-1 in the series but I am (more…)

Whatever Happened To Anna Kournikova?
2007-05-04 04:50:26
It’s like a decade ago since I haven’t seen Anna Kournikova played in the tournament. Her appearances on TV commercials have been limited recently. It is not bothersome to ask, “What happened to her”? She is still  one of the most alluring tennis players in history. In a simple yet enhancing sentence, I would say, “She’s got the look”. Though  she is not that bad as a player, her looks  commanded her success and catapulted her to fame and riches. Her attractive photos are what people are searching for. (more…)

Street Sense wins 133th Kentucky Derby
2007-05-06 09:07:19
It was one of the most memorable Kentucky Derby that I’d ever watched. The way Street Sense came from the 19th place will always be the talk of the race lovers. It’s the remarkable way on how jockey Kevin Borel rode Street Sense from the tail to the head of the pack. I’ve watched it in slow motion and it’s like Street Sense had a little luck in threading the little gaps. You can watch the video here and see (more…)

Barry Bonds’ 756th home-run ball costs $1M only?
2007-05-14 07:21:21
Whether Barry Bonds had juiced himself or not, the $1 million offered by a Dallas auction house for the historic ball is cheap. “We invite the lucky owner who delivers this historic baseball, as verified by Major League Baseball, to redeem it for a $1 million bounty at a Dallas news conference within 15 days of the record-breaking homer,” Chris Ivy, director of Sports Auctions for Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, said Sunday. If I am the person who catches that ball, I would sell it for $7 million. With all the words used describing Bonds’ (more…)

Martina Hingis Out Of French Open
2007-05-17 08:52:14
I remember watching a documentary about Martina Hingis on how her mother got her name from Martina Navratilova. This documentary ran just after she had won her first Wimbledon as the youngest ever in the 20th century. I thought she would win more than 20 grandslams. Her youth gave us the indication. We thought she would come near or even surpass Steffi Graf’s. But we’ve seen in our eyes how she was denied those grandslams. Martina Hingis should have won the 1999 French Open against Stefi Graf. She was one match-point away but the great Steffi Graf came back to capture the moment. We had witnessed how Hingis struggled against the power-serving Williams sister. Martina had never had an answer to those forces. Since then she was gone from the spotlight. She made a comeback last year from injury. Her intelligence of the game is still there but her physical ability can no longer contain what is required for her to win. Hingis had just pulled herself out of this month’s Fren
