Liverpool through to the knockout round of the Champions League
2008-11-27 03:56:11
Liverpool have qualified for the knockout round of the UEFA Champions League with a 1-0 win over the Marseille at Anfield. It wasn't exactly a brilliant performance by the Reds, but it's a relief we are through to the knockout round. Now we just have to sort out the last game and try to get that Group Leader position which is very vital. We just can't surrender the lead spot to Atletico Madrid. So

Another chance to go top of the table goes begging!
2008-11-24 03:32:28
I don't know how this happens all the time. We do great against big teams and then end up drawing against the weaker ones. Liverpool should have enough quality to do the job without Steven Gerrard. Chelsea were held to a draw so we had a great opportunity to take the lead but alas it doesn't happen again. We should have defeated Fulham. Come on guys, show some quality!

Talking about Gerrard, Gallas and more...
2008-11-21 23:24:09
Just when Fernando Torres is making a return to first team action, we have gerrard sidelined with injury. I know it's quite impossible for all the first team regulars to be fit and injuries do happen in football, but Gerrard and Torres seem to be getting injured a lot these days. With Gerrard sidelined for the Fulham game and still a doubt for Champions League action I just hope we get the job don

Keane is our King
2008-11-21 03:17:48
Hurray for Keane ! His double in the premier league is surely a sign for all the great goals that are to come. Now he has started showing the class which made him so popular at Tottenham Hotspurs. And our 3-0 win has put us into the lead and I just hope Chelsea drop points against the Blackburn. And surely with Torres coming back, we might see the destructive pairing of Torres and Keane finally in

Hopes for this season
2008-11-21 03:17:48
What do I want this season for Liverpool? More than anything - the English Premier League. We've begun well. To be level with Chelsea is great and in the second place is great but it could have been better. We could have been in the lead but we have ourselves to blame at least partly. the refree didn't do us any favour calling Gerrard's superb goal against Stoke offside - that's two points dropped.

Kuyt and Gerrard sink Bolton
2008-11-21 03:17:48
A goal each from Dirk Kuyt and captain Steven Gerrard was enough to break down Bolton at their Reebok Stadium. This result puts Liverpool and Chelsea level in points after Chelsea also won their game. The best thing about this game was the performance of Xabi Alonso who nearly left Liverpool during the summer. How miserable Liverpool would have been without him! And Dirk Kuyt is showing his class g

Mascherano - The Argetine Captain!
2008-11-21 03:17:48
The legendary Argentine football player and the new Argentina Coach Diego Maradona has handed the Captain 's armband to our own Liverpool's Javier Mascherano. The ever hardworking Mascherano was slightly reserved about the responsiblity but I'm sure he will go on to become a great Argentine captain. Maradona has chosen his captain well. After all, Mascherano has already made his country proud by wi

Twice is too much!
2008-11-21 03:17:48
Defeated by Hotspurs again! And this time it hurts more because it means that we won't be lifting the Carling Cup this season. I thought we would get our revenge for the defeat in the league. But, Benitez assembles a poor starting line-up and the performance is even poorer. I mean defense was very poor - Dossena for example doesn't look like he deserves the Reds shirt. I know we must give the you

Another draw!
2008-11-21 03:17:48
Just when you think we are on our way to the top, everything has come down collapsing or atleast it seems to be the case.Last night, we had the chance to beat Atletico Madrid and secure the top position and a place in the Champions League knockout phase. But what do we do, we go and miss a golden opportunity and I think may have just decided our second position in the group. And I don't want to se

Let's bring down Tottenham
2008-11-21 03:17:48
We face Tottenham again, this tme in the Carling Cup. And we want revenge. We were so unluckily defeated by them in the League. And we have to defeat them. It will be a morale boost for us. We knock out the defending champions and edge a step closer to the cup. I hope we really teach them a lesson this time.Go Reds!

Birth of a Liverpool fan
2008-11-03 22:40:07
When did you know that you have finally fallen in love with your club? Well, I know when. I have been a fan of Liverpool FC ever since Rafa Benitez stepped in as the manager of the club.I'm starting this blog to share my thoughts with all other Liverpool fans and other football followers in general. Well, I'll start with how I fell in love with this club. It was back in the season 2004-05 and I ha

Another draw for Liverpool
2009-01-13 02:23:27
Liverpool have again drawn with Stoke City. On top of that, Manchester Untied have thrashed Chelsea 3-0 and now are just five points behind Liverpool with two games in hand. This means that if ManU manage to win their two games they will overtake Liverpool and lead the EPL.For Liverpool, it's the easiest 4 points dropped in EPL. They should have easily won against Stoke City both away and at home.

We are with you, Gerrard!
2009-01-08 08:09:42
First of all, a happy new year 2009 to all football fans around the world. A new year dawns upon us and it may seem that it brings sad news for all the Liverpool fans.Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard 's arrest has been well publicized following a pub bust-up in Liverpool. Just hours after Gerrard guided Liverpool to a 5-1 victory over Newcastle, he was arrested for a pub brawl. A man has had facial

Liverpool thrash Newcastle United 5-1
2008-12-29 02:13:14
Liverpool thrashed Newcastle United 5-1 at St. James' Park. It was a wonderful display of football from the Reds and Captain Steven Gerrard led by example. He opened the scoring and later on, added another. Sami Hyypia scored the second Liverpool goal with a powerful header and then Ryan Babel added one. Xabi Alonso too got himself a goal with a penalty kick when Ryan Babel was brought down by a N

Liverpool thrash Bolton 3-0 as Robbie Keane returns to form
2008-12-27 01:43:26
Liverpool showed why they are at the top of the table with a great game of football against Bolton . Bolton, looking to add their name to the list of clubs which came to Anfield and managed a draw, were brilliantly beaten by three goals from Liverpool. Albert Riera opened up the scoring with a nice volley and Robbie Keane scored two confident goals to show that he is now back to scoring form having

The promise of good things to come!
2008-12-24 23:16:24
I have reading football forum and it seemed to me that everyone (specially the Liverpool supporters) are talking about the Liverpool youngsters and I quite agree with what is being said about them. The first name which came up everywhere is Emiliano Insua. The young Argentine is really doing well and his performance against Arsenal was really good and for the first time in many months I saw someon

Liverpool and Arsenal play a draw
2008-12-22 05:45:05
Liverpool visited the Emirates Stadium and came out with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal with Robbie Keane scoring for the Reds.It was Robin van Persie who broke the deadlock with a fine goal which saw Arsenal take a 1-0 lead. Then it was the turn of Keane who was included in the starting line-up to score an impressive goal for a striker who was said to be out of form and possibly out of Anfield in the

A really shameful performance!
2008-12-14 03:58:48
Liverpool's performance was really awful against Hull City in the English Premier League. What should have been an assured performance in front of the home crowd, the Reds were two goals down to the visitors. While the game opened with frantic pace with Liverpool getting most of the ball and chances nothing came from it. We were a goal down and then an own-goal from Jamie Carragher. It was the ski

Liverpool remain on top with a win over Blackburn Rovers
2008-12-07 00:17:55
Liverpool maintained their league leaders position with a hard fought win over Blackburn Rovers . Xabi Alonso scored a cool goal (after a miss-fire by Kuyt) and Yossi got the second. Blackburn however pulled one back but captain Steven Gerrard scored in the extra time to give Liverpool a 3-1 win over the Rovers. While the work input by the likes of Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher a nd Hyypia was impres

Torres may be out for a longer time
2008-12-05 07:35:01
It has come out that Fernando Torres may be out for more than 2 or 3 weeks. He has been having this hamstring injury since he joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid to Liverpool. But now, it seems that he may be out for a long term. Also, his training schedule with the Spanish national team will be under the scan after he repeatedly injured himself while on duty with the national team. This news com

Liverpool grab the top spot with help from the Gunners
2008-12-02 06:55:46
Liverpool have claimed the sole possession of the top spot in the English Premier League with a draw against West Ham at home (though I would have wanted to see all the three points in the bag). Arsenal did us a great favor by defeating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (Chelsea's second home loss this season). I was counting on the Gunners to do their part which they did brilliantly although with a cont
