Dandruff
2007-05-18 13:13:06
Dandruff is a curse, a scourge for anybody. There is no way one can get rid of it. I personally suffer from severe dandruff problem and have had this for years. There is no shampoo which cures it. They all give relief and the period of relief does depend on the shampoo. I was first introduced to Head & Shoulders of Proctor & Gamble. This was soothing and helpful but did not cure the problem. Whenever I stopped using or reduced the frequency of use problem would recur. I tried a number of shampoos, including the so called egg-shampoo and herbal shampoos- for example Clairol.. All are helpful only temporarily, a day or two or three after application. First I thought keeping clean is the only requirement but no, shampoo does offer something more. Keeping clean with even a very good soap is not the same. I have, of'course, tried desi shikakai and amla powders. Hindustan Lever?s (HLL) Clinic All Clear was touted initially as anti dandruff. I used this too quite lot and found help

For men
2007-05-18 13:12:20
Thick, flowing, bright hair flying on the crown are very majestic. For men too, good hair cover on the head makes them look good and attractive as women would like to fancy. Sometimes we are not so lucky and are bothered by our hair. This happens, particularly if we suffer from the malaise of dandruff, more on this later. Another beauty about the hair is their colour. In India we had three colours reserved for hair: black, grey or ?khichdi? , and white like mine! Previously in Europe or USA one saw a whole lot of shades of hair colour. Blonde and brunette are so well known. But apart from these one can see scores of shades of brown. Before I had seen the L?Oreal range in stores I used to wonder at the range of colour shades those women in USA had for their soft, silky hair. Thanks to Globalization and L?Oreal one can see these in our own bazaars and gatherings. Now L?Oreal, or most of its hair colour shades are available in stores here. And females are using them, colouring their hai

PARAMOUNT AIRWAYS IS FOREMOST.
2007-05-23 14:09:42
PARAMOUNT AIRWAYS IS FOREMOST. I would like to give a review of PARAMOUNT AIRWAYS, this is my personal travel experience with them, I booked my ticket thru Embassy Travels - Chennai. They faxed me the printed out ticket copy of flight no.17508 from BLR - HAL, that is the airline code for Bangalore to Hyderabad.   05Mar2007 was the date of travel, Take off was 20:40hrs and landing 21:40 hrs, allowed baggage as stated on the ticket was 30 kgs. This was a trip of 45 to 50 minutes, I was not worried about window seat and also our favorite booking agency do their job well. I did not enquire at the counter for issuance of boarding card for window seat.   On my arrival to airport main gate there was a lady receiving passengers like a good host, she asked me Paramount Airways, I nodded, she showed me to the baggage receipt counter, they asked me the ID card, there is a statement declared on the top of my ticket, that passenger must present ID card for verification before boarding

I have just travelled by the said airline, and  I would like to earnestly request the govt. of india to revive this airline againin order to facilitate us indians & the tourists to have more options of flying from one destination to the other within few hours instead of standing in long ques of the railway counters. This would help more people to get employment atleast. However, we should forget what happened in the past with this airline, but the govt. can always begin it afresh by changing the management; perhaps by changing it's name. The said airline could be like the Air Deccan, a low budget & economical fare carrier where all of us can spend slightly more money and reach our final destination to meet our relatives etc.  on the same day. But also keeping it in mind that the cabin crew members should not exceed their age limit i.e. 40-50 yrs above for the captains , 35-40 years for the co-pilots, 20-28 years for the flt attendants & stewards , who should be

MY TAKE-
2007-05-23 14:01:23
MY TAKE-   Leave all your cynicism behind and watch this movie. I work with a couple of schools, catering to children from the slums of Bangalore, so I can attest to the authenticity of the characters and setting in the movie. Yes, the movie is in Kannada (it isn't my mother tongue either!), and it does tend to overkill on the drama quotient and the loud background score. but the movie is so filled with sincerity, good intentions and innocence that it begs to be watched and appreciated.   The child actor/director Master Kishen IS indeed a prodigy. He is absolutely irresistible and charming as the young boy Slummu. However, it wasn't the actor in Kishen that impressed me the most, but the supremely intelligent and visionary DIRECTOR in Kishen that stunned me. Portraying real, observable social phenomena such as begging and child labour, connecting it to the untiring pursuit of education by an underprivileged child, and then taking that quest for education even higher..abs

PLOT-
2007-05-23 14:00:35
PLOT- In the city that is known as the "Silicon Valley of India" (Bangalore), there exists an alternate reality of young children being sold everyday by their parents to beggars, for a measly sum of 50 rupees. They are drugged so they can appear ill, and then surface at traffic signals, in the arms of their "mothers", serving as aids to earning money. One such child is the protagonist of this story. This child wanders away from his, "mother" and is adopted by an old lady living in a slum. Not having a name, he is christened, rather appropriately though unfortunately, as "Slum'mu". Slummu (Master Kishen) grows up to be a precociously bright 8 year old, leading a gang of rag pickers, being the sole bread winner of his household. One day while engaging in his daily routine of rag picking, he is challenged and humiliated by some privileged school going boys. Right then he makes up his mind to get an education and get himself on par with those boys. To this end, he chases after s

C/O Footpath (2006, Kannada movie)
2007-05-23 14:00:09
C/O Footpath (2006, Kannada movie )     What grabs your attention immediately about this movie is that it is written, directed and acted by a 10 year old child. And not just any child, a child that is intelligent and sensitive way beyond his years. He doesn't communicate anything through this movie that we, as adults, aren't aware of.it's the WAY he says it that makes his message pierce straight into our hearts, and not just linger in our brains.   DIRECTOR/WRITER - Master Kishen.   CAST- Master Kishen, Tara, Saurabh Shukla, Jackie Shroff.

Motorla RAZR
2007-05-23 13:58:20
I recently bought a Motorla RAZR phone for the same reason that everybody else does:   it looks really cool and has a lotof great features.   I got it to replace the boring old Nokia phone that came with the Cingular service.   When I brought it home and put my SIM card in it, I found it didn't get reception in the house, whereas my Nokia did.   I still had the same ammount of bars (2), but it wouldn't make or take any calls.     Worse yet, when I'm out and about it frequently drops calls without any kind of warning.   It seems the phone stops working when the reception is two bars or less.   I could talk on my old Nokia for hours with no trouble at all and never had to worry about a dropped call either at home or out.   Now I cross my fingers whenever I make a call.   Great looks and fun features are nice, but they don't mean much if you have a phone that you can't make or recieve

Motorola
2007-05-23 13:56:33
Folks, this is to alert you to a massive rip-off being perpetrated on consumers by Motorola India. I had bought a Motorola Razr V3 GSM phone in June 2006. Within 2 months, the main LCD display started flickering. It was replaced under warranty by Motorola's outsourced (3rd party) service provider M/S JBC Impex on Residency Road, Bangalore. Read on to see why I suspect that Motorola was shipping phones with known problems like defective LCD's - and then quietly replacing them when the phone failed in the hands of customers. In February 2007, the phone had to go back in for another service, as dust had seeped inside and started obscuring the display. This time, I was charged Rs. 250/- for replacement of the glass cover of the main LCD. I have reason to suspect that this was due to a shoddy replacement of the LCD in June '06. In late April 2007, I noticed a huge black spot on the main LCD and again took the phone to JBC Impex. I assumed it was a problem with the glass and e

Gazpacho
2007-07-15 02:03:25
2 ripe tomatoes cut into big pieces 1/2 cup chopped parsley or coriander 2 tbsp breadcrumbs 1 avocado, sliced 3 tbsp lemon juice 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1 cup of tomato juice 1 cup of ice-cold water 2 tsp Tabasco or chili sauce Salt, pepper, and dried herbs to taste Throw everything in the blender and watch it go. This one tastes great. I usually add just a little more hot sauce to mine. I might also add some crushed red pepper flakes after I have blended it. I love hot and spicy foods. A simple pesto is a great way to use the blender. Since everyone has a way to make it they like, I suggest that you look on google or another search engine for a good recipe. I would try to avoid the oil. Some people put a lot of oil in theirs. Also, if you use pine nuts, I would suggest that you use ones that are dry roasted. Make sure you don't get the ones that are deep fried. The blender can also be a great way to make deserts. Try this one. Two cups ice cream. Two handfuls of strawbe

One of the things that I have noticed about single men is, they don't have the right tools in the kitchen. I have never understood this really. I mean, if you are single or in a relationship, you still need to eat. I have known men that didn't have a can opener or a pot big enough to cook pasta in. One thing a man should never do with out is, a blender. It is a good for many things in the kitchen. It is also good to make mixed drinks with. Your lady friends will love the mixed drinks you will make in your new blender. Most women like sweet fruity type of alcoholic drinks. If you can get her drunk..... You know the rest of the story. Blender s can be a great way to make easy meals. I love to use mine to make fast meals that I don't have to stand around a hot stove to make. I call it fast food at home. I also try to make a little extra so that I have some leftovers I can eat the next day for dinner or take it to work for lunch. Here are some easy recipes that you can use in your blende

Binge Eating 12
2007-07-15 02:02:15
The key thing to remember is to eat healthy snacks. Eat things that make your feel good, not things that are loaded with fat. Things that are loaded with fat will only make you feel drained and make you want to snack more. If you are having problems eating three meals a day, you really need to work on your diet. This is because you don't want to binge eat. Binge eating will only hurt you in the long run. Don't believe me? Look at it like this. You know what will happen if you don't eat all day long. You will get hungry and you will get the shakes. If you start to get the shakes you will go for whatever that you can to make it stop. Here is what I do to help me eat three meals a day. I start off by making my lunch before I go to bed. I do this because I won't do it when I wake up in the morning. I try my best just to get my clothes on and get out the door in good time so I am not late for work. I also pack some snacks for me to eat at work. I might put some veggie sticks and some fr

Binge Eating 1
2007-07-15 02:01:44
All of this time we have talked about what to eat and what not to eat. Though, that is only part of the solution to a good diet. There is something that we also need to talk about. What we haven't talked about is eating habits. When you should and shouldn't eat. That is as important as what you eat. Why is it important? It is important because you don't want to binge eat. You don't want to eat a whole bunch of food at one time. This isn't good for you. Does this sound like you? You skip breakfast because you are running late for work. You have a bunch of work that has been piling up, so you skip lunch. Instead you have a cup of coffee and some snack crackers. You go home and you eat enough for three meals. You are so hungry you could eat a live pig. You eat so much that you don't think you will be able to walk for a week. You go watch some television and you fall asleep while watching it. Is this the same as eating three good meals each day? Eating one meal that is the same amoun
