This site is typically pretty serious in nature, so today I decided to post something funny that I saw a few weeks ago. Dogs can be so funny. Enjoy!

Smelley Senior Dog. Why dogs smell.
2007-04-10 06:41:48
“He smells like a dog”, the client says. Being as he is a dog, this doesn’t seem to me to be a problem, technically. If, being a dog, he smelled like, say, a camel — now that would be a problem. Of course, this is not the truly stinky dog. [...]

Canine Arthritis
2007-04-09 05:56:52
Arthritis is an affliction that many dogs suffer from, especially as they get older. According to a study sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, as many as 20% of adult dogs may suffer from arthritis. Just as with humans, the causes for canine arthritis are spread over a wide array of factors including genetics, previous injuries [...]

Fighting Kidney Disease
2007-04-06 02:04:33
My friend was grief stricken. Her body heaved with sobs, and in between she kept repeating: “He was so young. I never thought I’d lose him so soon.” No, she hadn’t lost a son or brother, but she had lost a friend. “It’s like losing a member of your family,” she cried. She was referring [...]

Ear Mites feel like this?
2007-04-12 01:12:10
In the September 1, 1993 issue of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association,  a letter to the editor appeared, entitled “Of Mites and Man”.  This letter was submitted by Dr. Robert A. Lopez, and is (ostensibly) a description of the sensations he experienced after deliberately infecting himself with ear mites in 1968.  According [...]

Pet Supplement Alert - What to Look for Before You Buy
2007-04-12 22:05:56
MSNBC recently ran an article regarding the lack of regulation in the pet supplement industry.  I hope this is the first of many news articles on this particular topic. Seems as though the lack of regulation on pet supplements is allowing the manufacturers to get away with what could potentially be murder.  The pet supplement industry [...]

FDA Approves the First Drug for Obese Dogs
2007-04-16 20:15:40
Well, I hadn’t heard of this until now.  Earlier this year the FDA approved the first drug for obese dogs.  We knew it was only a matter of time.  I was wondering if anyone had an experience in prescribing it to their own pet or a patient. Here is some additional information for reference… Drug Name:  Slentrol [...]

One More Pet Food Recall
2007-04-29 17:09:43
I keep thinking that everybody who even thinks that they might have a problem will have quit stone-walling by now and recalled their food.  Yet, today we have another report from Natural Balance.  Of course, it’s possible that their food problems have nothing to do with the previous reports.  Maybe they’re the victim of mass [...]

Poison in the Food.
2007-04-28 21:00:14
Christie Keith and Gina Spadafori have been working tirelessly to get the news out to everyone regarding the pet food recall since the news broke. They have lost sleep and time. While those in power attempt to shift our attention to possibilities of human food contamination and whatever else they think they [...]

More Pet Food Recall Info…
2007-04-22 17:07:33
On a much smaller scale, thankfully.  Two of the four new ones are in Canada and South Africa.  One is an expansion of the original Menu Foods list.   Only one seems to be a new player, and I must admit I’d never heard of them before: Blue Buffalo.  As usual, I’ve added the new links [...]
