Morally Bankrupt
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Have been meaning to have a pop at the creature known as Carol Vorderman. She becomes known as a Maths Genius on a very popular TV show (Countdown) - then completely sells out, and starts promoting Secured Loans on TV adverts. This is at a time when the UK population holds record debts of 3 Trillion Pounds. But relax. These loans are at 'competitive' rates - so that's alright then. Carol must know what she's talking about, she's a maths genius, remember! Whatever next? Jamie Oliver doing adverts for a supermarket? Er.....

Parallel News 2

Click To Enlarge Believe it or not, none of this is fiction. It's what the Government is saying. If Whitehall are cutting costs, and Blair is insistent on introducing ID cards, then I wonder who will be paying for the ID cards? Say no to ID Cards!

One day Rodney...

Another HPI themed cartoon. Along the lines of how little 1 million pounds will be one day in the future. Remember all those stories about how a gallon of petrol used to cost £1.20. insurance, hotels, film, cheap, free.

The idea for this cartoon came from some stand up comedian. I can't remember where I heard/read this. No colour this time, but I think it works just as well without.

Nintendo Wii - oh what fun!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
A rare treat (or maybe not) today of two cartoons. The Nintendo Wii has been in the news a lot lately. It has a strange name. I have a silly mind. I drew the bottom cartoon first, and then had another idea for a Wii puny cartoon - so I drew another one. I was going to post them separately, but think the joke is so similar in both, that I've posted both cartoons. Leave a comment, and tell me which you like the best. I really must get round to the Christmas Cards now.

Homes Left Empty
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Thousands of new homes are being left empty deliberately in cities as investors cash in on rising house prices and a high level of building encouraged by the Government, a study has found. At a time of acute shortage of affordable housing for first-time buyers, a significant number of homes, particularly flats in apartment blocks, are unoccupied. Investors prefer to leave starter homes empty and make their money from the rise in the property market rather than letting them out to tenants who may damage kitchen and bathroom fittings and cause wear and tear that requires costly redecoration.

Toilet cistern leaking this morning. That's no excuse for a bad cartoon. Ice everywhere out the back of the house. Water from overflow is freezing - creating our own personal ice rink. How very Christmassy

Blowing Bubbles

CLICK TO ENLARGE. House prices are at their highest ever in the UK. Some people think that we are experiencing a massive bubble, that sooner or later will burst, and leave many people in serious financial trouble. Others feel that this time, house prices will just continue to increase upwards forever, and no matter how much debt you get into, buying a house will give you vast amounts of equity for little or no effort. We shall see. If you're interested in following the debates on House Prices, here's the best forum for discussing this topic. http://forum.globalhousepricecrash.com/index.php?act=idx

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day....
1970-01-01 00:59:59
A Christmas Story for people having a bad day.... When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the pre-Christmas pressure. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where. Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered. So, frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broo

Christmas...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
CLICK TO ENLARGE (it'll look better).Christmas 2006 has snook up on me yet again. I was panic shopping today. Lots of other people were also doing the same. I must have spent most of my time in a Que, waiting to pay for all the stuff I was trying to buy. Damn those unorganised people. They were getting in my way. I hate shopping at normal times. I really hate shopping this time of year. The cartoons may not be produced as frequently over the next week or so, but I will post a few times over the holiday season. I have some Christmas themed cartoons planned for the next few days, then things will probably dry up for a while. In other news - I've been banned from House Price Crash forum, for daring to mention the other forum, and calling them Nazis (after provocation from their rude behaviour) on Global House Price Crash Forum. Sorry HPC, but you ain't going to censor me. I'll say what I like about you in other places.HPC, is possibly the most over controlled, excessively moderated, an

Dangerous Dogs Amnesty
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Apparently they have an amnesty in Northern Ireland, where people can hand their dangerous dogs in without being charged for having them in the first place. Why do people even want to have such dangerous creatures in their homes? Is it a status thing? I don't understand it at all.

B&Q Dancing Interviews
1970-01-01 00:59:59
D.I.Y. chain, B&Q have been criticised for making interviewees dance before being interviewed for van driver positions at Norwich. Amazingly, job seekers were asked if they would like to dance and make funny faces. B&Q said that it was meant as a light-hearted exercise and no one was forced to dance, if they didn't want to.

Reality Television
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Reality TV, there's so much of it now. I think it's all total crap, but it's hard to avoid. It's so boring, it makes this site interesting! I've been really poor at updating the site this week. I've not been drawing very much at all this week. But I've gone back to the drawing board, and hopefully you will see more regular updates from now on. Interesting to watch the site stats, when I'm not actively updating. Stumble Upon and Google have provided most hits this week.Strange bug with blogger and FireFox. Won't let me upload pictures through FireFox - so I'm having to use IE7 to update this! (spit). This seems to be a temporary fault, as it's happened before. I think Google are updating their servers. Strange that it still works in IE?
