Disney World – Should You Stay On or Off Site?
2007-04-06 11:34:00
Many people may find planning their trip to Disney World very confusing, but planning is the key to making the most of your time and budget. To start, the first thing to do is to decide when you would like to go to Disney World . Typically, the most crowded period is the summer season along with the major holidays such as the Christmas, New Year, and spring breaks. Basically anytime kids are out of school. The least crowded period of the year is January to February (up till the President’s Day) and September to November. If you are concerned about the weather, Disney World has a pleasant climate most of the year, but Orlando can be very hot and very humid during summer. The fall is cooler and winter varies from downright cold to good enough for swimming. Spring is warm, and may become hot at times. Now that you have decided when to go to Disney World, the next thing to decide is if you are going to stay on-site at a Disney World property or off-site.Staying at a Disney World ResortThe D

Plan A Jamaica Family Vacation Without Breaking The Bank
2007-04-05 09:05:00
Isn’t it time that you rewarded yourself? You work hard so now it’s time to play hard. Get away from the stress and hassle of your job for awhile and take the whole family on a vacation to Jamaica, which is the closest thing to paradise on the planet. And you can do this without breaking the bank in the process.Jamaica was the first place to offer the all-inclusive resort idea. Instead of being nickel and dimed to death for everything, how about a luxury vacation where virtually everything is included at a single price after you arrive? In fact, these types of resorts, which are plentiful in Jamaica, are huge and offer almost anything you could want right on the resort property, so you do not even need to leave the resort after you arrive, and could leave your wallet in your room or in a safety deposit box at the front desk if you want to.Many of these resorts also cater to the family vacation, and not just to the business traveler or the honeymoon couple. Many of these resorts off

New Loft Developments in Toronto, Ontario
2007-04-04 08:48:00
Loft living is at its finest in Toronto , and the market is booming. There are literally dozens upon dozens of loft developments under construction in Toronto, and competition is tough. For many people interested in purchasing living space in a new loft development, the search begins early and it is grueling. One thing that makes finding a loft so difficult is that 50 percent of loft developments are sold before the building is listed on the public market. This means that people wishing to buy a loft must do a lot of research and try to secure a loft before construction is completed. If they are successful, there are many rewards. Many lofts in the Toronto area increase in value anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000 on the day that they are placed for sale on the public housing market.Lofts are distinct from condos in that they feature exposed ductwork, exposed beams and columns, few interior walls, and high ceilings. They are very open spaces, commonly two stories high and have a lot of orig

Cedarvale, Toronto: History and Characteristics
2007-04-03 08:21:00
Brief historyLike many neighbourhoods in eastern Canada, the community of Cedarvale was a private plot of land owned by one man, Sir Henry Mill Pellat, who was the builder of Casa Loma (a huge castle-like house in Toronto that is a major tourist attraction). Pellat originally intended the area to be a closed community when he began to develop it in 1912. Due to decreasing funds from the costs of Casa Loma as well as a plunging real estate market during World War I, the only extant reminder of this dream are a couple of columns located at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Claxton Boulevard.A public relations concern was created in 1966 when the Spadina Exressway was to be built through the area. In fact, several houses were reclaimed by the government and the cedars which gave the area its name were removed for the project, but the public outcry was such that in 1974 the city decided to halt the expressway at Eglinton.Cedarvale TodayThe Cedarvale neighbourhood in Toronto is one ha

Air Couriers Get A Travel Discount
2007-03-22 08:11:00
Air couriers enjoy cheaper airfares. They can fly across the ocean for only $99 but are willing to handle a lay over that may last an extra day or two.If you become a courier, the company hiring you expects you to bring only one carry-on for your flight and to surrender your baggage allowance to them.Couriers receive discount airline tickets when they work for a company that has hired them to carry shipping documents on their flights. These companies use couriers because it is quicker and less expensive to ship freight as luggage rather than air cargo. Couriers may also carry time-sensitive items such as business documents or medicines. As a courier, you can only bring carry on luggage. You cannot check in your personal luggage. You give up your baggage allowance to the courier company hiring you. They need it for the materials they are shipping.Courier tickets are regular round-trip coach tickets that are also non-refundable and non-transferable. So make sure you can make the flight. You

GPS Devices in the Desert
2007-03-21 11:31:00
Navigating wastelands pose numerous problems – even with a GPS device. Scarce landmarks mixed with undulating sand dunes challenge even the best navigators attempting to chart a course. In addition, the underlying danger of hidden canyons to navigate around heightens the degree of difficulty.Luckily GPS devices can help you navigate a clear path through the desert. Since vegetation is sporadic, your device will have continuous communication with satellites – unlike trekking though densely covered forests that block signal paths. Using waypoints, one can easily chart distances in the desert which can then be indicated on maps that truly reflect the landscape.Distances are difficult to judge in the desert since usual points of reference (steep drop-offs, unusual tree formations, etc.) are all but absent. To get around this, identify any landmark that is easily distinguished from the background and indicate it as a waypoint on the GPS unit. Seek out one more and indicate that point as

Crash!! How can you be prepared for a vehicle accident? Perhaps your reaction time was just a little too slow, or the weather conditions really did mean slow down. Well, now what?Vehicle collision is an everyday, worldwide occurrence. If you could eliminate the disadvantages of living in a large city - the high cost of living, the lack of natural attractions, and the hustle and bustle of city life - while at the same time enjoying all of the advantages of city life, you would consider yourself prett

Rome Limousine Service: How to Optimize Your Time in Rome With a Private Transportation
2007-04-17 08:17:00
If you land at the Ciampino airport of Rome, you'll have the chance not only to see the majesty of the roman acqueducts but also to explore the Appian way and the catacombs. These ancient christian cemeteries are mostly underground passages running beneath large sections of Rome. More than 600 miles of galleries had been tunnelled out of the sandstone rock by the early Christians, and here they lived during times of persecution, here they had their meetings and here they buried their dead. I came across whole chapels carved out where large numbers could be accommodated. Inscriptions and paintings were here and there. In fact, it is claimed that our modern likeness of Christ, that is the accepted picture to-day, had its origin in the catacombs. The long maze of galleries became the place for burial. Little cubicles about six feet long and two feet high were dug into the sides of the tunnels, often in tiers of three and four, and a marble slab was placed across the front. On these slabs

Next time you are planning a truly relaxing vacation trip, you should put some serious consideration into the Bahamas . The capital city is Nassau, which is located on the island New Providence, though Andros Island is the largest in the group. The Bahamas main industry is tourism, with the island being a massive tourist spot for most western countries. The 700 Islands of the Bahamas form a 500 mile archipelago, and every one of them is a reason to take the family to this island paradise. The Bahamas are only a short distance from South Florida, and offer many affordable opportunities for an island adventure. Things to See When Landing at Rome Airports
2007-04-20 08:40:00
The technology revolution allows people today to have more resources at disposal and to plan their trip to Rome and to Italy optimizing the time in order to see more. To make an example, when you are just landed at Ciampino Rome airport, during your transfer to the hotel you can see the archaeological area of the Appian way and the acqueduct built by the emperor Claudius in 54 AD. Opened in 312 b. C. by the censor Appius Claudius, during the Sannite wars, in order to join Rome with the southern provinces of the peninsula, with Africa and the East. It became in short time the elected road, sacred to the cult of the dead, crossed during the Latin holidays by the crowd going to the temple of Jupiter on the summit of mount Cavo or to the temple of Diana, by the shores of the Nemi lake. The Appian way ran here straight -after this the name of " recto " - at first followed the line of an existing road to the Alban hills and reached the Agro Pontino. After the Appio Forum it touched the city

WALKING IN PERU’S HIGHLANDS alone without a passport or money can itself be a forbidden adventure. And if you know little or no Spanish it could be the worst situation you can get yourself in. But such is the bond of trekking that when things begin to fall apart, the backpackers’ begin to bind together. I had just lost my jacket with my passport, money, credit cards and last bar of chocolate when I met up with Caroline from Wales who was trying to polish her Spanish by travelling through remote villages. We discussed subjects of mutual interest and soon decided to move on together to the plains of Huanuco.THE WIDE ‘PLAINS OF HUANUCO’ are filled with cattle. Resting against a mud-house along the ancient road, a mid-aged lady arrives on horseback to deliver milk. The man in the mud-house transfers it into a plastic container. “Improvised refrigeration” he says, as he lowers it into a running stream that runs alongside. Then he offers sweet yoghurt, which I drink to run down t

Where to find peace in Dharamsala?
2007-04-20 08:38:00
TOP OF THE WORLDI stepped off the overnight Jammu mail train from Delhi into the dusty market town of Pathankot. From there it was a two hour drive across dry flood plains and stony riverbeds, to the foothills of the Himalayas; a sheer wall of blue and white rising to the north. At the base of this wall lies Dharamsala, the town famous as the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile. Beyond Dharamsala the road becomes a series of switchbacks through a pine forest all the way to the town of McLeod Ganj. The modern world ends here: the road, and western creature comforts, peter out a few yards beyond the town.Ahead of McLeod Ganj, in a sparsely populated area known as Upper Dhararnkot, the path crossed exposed tree roots and straddled boulders, beneath garlands of billowing Tibetan prayer flags. Finally we passed through dappled woodland at 7,000ft, where the grass is cropped short by fleshy local cattle. There in a small clearing stood a two-storey hotel, Eagle’s Nest

How to select a Seychelles holiday?
2007-04-20 08:37:00
Scattered across the Indian Ocean lie 115 island that make the Seychelles archipelago. Over 20,000 Britons visit this paradise every year. They go there to snorkel, dive, bird watching, sunbathing or like parakeets, love their newly found partner. Many visitors are honeymooners. The Seychelles can deliver the tropical romantic ideal, often to a stupendous degree, but it is not a destination where you should expect to fly in and find heaven waiting in the arrivals hall. It comes only to those who find the right hotel at the right time, depending whether you want to dive, fish, sail or watch birds or turtles — or just walk along the beach holding bands.WEATHERA chief consideration should be the weather, for the Seychelles are influenced by two very different trade winds. The South East Trade Winds are prevalent from May to September. This means that you could be staring out at choppy seas and seaweed-strewn beaches if you are in the South East while your compatriots on the other side are

10 Tips for holiday divers
2007-04-20 08:30:00
On a diving holiday to Australia in January 1998, two Americans, Tom and Eileen Lonergan, joined a group in Port Douglas, near Cairns, for a day's diving on the Great Barrier Reef, 40 miles off shore. In the evening when the boat returned, unnoticed by either the crew or any of their fellow divers , the Lonergans were not on board. Two days passed when the manager of the hotel where they were staying noticed their absence and raised the alarm. By the time the search was finally launched, it was almost certain that the Lonergans were dead.No one knows what happened to them, whether they eventually drowned or were eaten by sharks. Either way, their end is too horrible to Imagine. A few months later, one of diver's waterproof notepad was found in a mangrove swamp. In the faded writing that was still readable was a horrifying message. “To anyone who can help us… we have been abandoned… please rescue us before we die.”All adventure sports carry risks, and diving is no exception.
