Photoillustration 2008-10-21 19:55:00 At times some photographers seem to be concerned primarely with the level of detail of their images or they try to emulate the typical "National Geographic" style. This could stop them from trying to explore Photography in a more free and creative way. The mobile phone camera was merely the starting point for this composit, Photoshop post production was obviously necessary to achive this result.D
Night Road 2008-10-20 03:36:00 Personally, I enjoy experimenting with subjects or situations that don't seem to offer much at the first glance. Photographers like Ernst Haas (1921-1986) already investigated the kind of results that low-ISO film produces in scarce light conditions. Travelling by night, having to stop at deserted traffic lights in the dark has always exerted a certain charm on me. What was chaotic just few hours Read more:Night
Desert's Dawn 2008-10-18 05:56:00 If you're going to acquire only two photographic skills, then learn how to choose the right light and the best framing for your subject. Read more:Desert
No title 2008-10-16 01:35:00 These were taken in full daylight (about midday). The challenge was being able to see something on the LCD screen, since the light reflected by the sand was extreme. Photoshop: Appropriate use of the "Levels" control.
Rhythm 2008-10-13 19:41:00 Picture taken with Sony Ericsson K810i in extremely low light.Photoshop: Added a slight glow effect. Read more:Rhythm
Dead Tree 2008-10-13 00:43:00 Black and White can help to transform an otherwise flat and monotonous image into something visually more interesting. This tree was almost lost among a dull olive-green background, whereas, in Black and White it assumes the features of a skull.
Summer 2008-10-13 00:21:00 With Photoshop I created a "burnt-out" effect to portray the extreme heat and dry conditions of the desolate Australian bush. Read more:Summer
Colors 2008-10-12 23:39:00 Blurrings and blendings of soft colors through the use of movement. This style vaguely recalls the results obtained with the old Polaroid instant cameras. A Phone Camera is great to reproduce this effect Read more:Colors
Passerby 2008-10-12 22:21:00 I took this pictures well after sunset and I was impressed with the performance of the phonecam in such poor light condition. The resulting slight blur of the figure gives a mysterious appeal to the image.Digital Manipulation:Later I simply compressed the levels with Photoshop.
Wollemi Pine 2008-11-12 02:36:00 At times what is important in an image could be its composition, its light, the colors etc... In some other instances the story behind the subject is so powerful that it becomes the main protagonist. The chance encounter with a fascinating aspect of Nature may happen when you least expect it, when you haven't planned to go out with all your gear, or simply in a day in which you were going for a st
Bold Park 2008-11-09 17:51:00 The "Bold Park" in Perth is one of my favourite city parks. There's a great diversity of trees, bushes, grasses, flowers and birds. A few pathways sneak deep into the woods; this allows you to have countless viewpoints and the scenery is in constant change according to the season and time of the day.Picture taken with mobile Nokia 6500.
At The Museum 2008-11-06 18:25:00 I enjoy playing with movement and light, to the point that at times they could become the sole subjects of the image. There's an implicit connection between creating images with a camera and creating them with a paintbrush, in my view; historically Photography and Painting have been informing each other in a constant dialogue. This image could be enlarged enormously without the worry of definition Read more:Museum
Wrinkles 2008-10-27 20:05:00 After converting this picture in Black and White, I added a light yellowish tone using the Duotone Mode (Image -> Mode -> Duotone).
Photoshop Levels Basic Enhancement Tutorial 2008-10-25 06:28:00 More often than not, pictures taken with mobile phones tend to lack tonal value(image #1). This is easily fixed by adjusting the levels in Photoshop
. Open the Menu (Image -> Adjustments -> Levels...).Shift the "Imput Levels" controls by moving the small black, gray and white arrows underneath the graph. I find it's better to not overdo it, try to fiddle with the controls until you achive a suitab Read more:Basic

Abstract Leaves 2008-11-30 04:00:00 Nature is abundant in aesthetic variety: lines, colors and textures which form endless combinations that an attentive eye can capture even with simple means. These Palm Leaves are scarred, they show scratches and marks which almost resemble writings; they could be considered closer to abstract painting than Photography. The challenge is in excerpting an aesthetic value from a context which is appa Read more:Abstract
Portrait of G 2008-11-26 02:45:00 Sometimes you need to wait for your subjects to relax in order to take a spontaneous picture of them. Here I waited long enough for my subject to almost doze off, which gave this portrait the lush feeling of a lazy summer afternoon. During the shot I slightly rotated the phone (Sony Ericsson K800i), in order to obtain a delicate circular blur. You can obtain this also with a Photoshop filter. Read more:Portrait
Horizon 2008-11-21 02:08:00 Whenever I am enjoying the view of an Australian coastline, I start thinking of the first sailors and settlers who set foot on this land. How mesmerizing, yet unsettling must it have been for people coming from Europe and its delicate colors to see the intense, blinding Australian sunlight reflected on the sea surface...Picture taken with Nokia 6500s
