Day.I hope you all had a good weekend, and that it was fun for your family. I also hope that you remembered what this Holiday was about. We got to go to a National Cemetery where our soldiers are buried, and spend some time looking through all the headstones. It is amazing standing there looking at headstones for as far as you can see, and knowing that these are all people who gave their lives to fight for our freedom! It kind of takes your breath away. I hope that when this war is over people support our troops and make them feel welcome when they come. I can't imagine being in a situation like Vietnam where they had to live through such terrible things, then having to come home to a nation who hated you.I feel bad for the soldiers who have to come home even now and see all the Anti-War bumper stickers, anti war T shirts etc. It would be a tough thing to deal with. Young Preacher does funeral service 2007-06-25 11:51:00 As a young minister, I was asked by a funeral director to hold a grave-side service for a homeless man, with no family or friends. The funeral was to be held at a cemetery way back in the country, and this man would be the first to be laid to rest there. As I was not familiar with the backwoods area, I became lost; and, typical man, did not stop for directions. I finally arrived an hour late. I saw the backhoe and the crew, who was eating lunch, but the hearse was nowhere in sight. I apologized to the workers for my tardiness, and stepped to the side of the open grave, where I saw the vault lid already in place. I assured the workers I would not hold them up for long, but this was the proper thing to do. The workers gathered around, still eating their lunch. I poured out my heart and soul.
