Site Problems Fixed Now
2007-07-15 01:56:02
There were some problems with the blog but I’m happy to tell you that everything is fixed now. Four new posts I’d made weren’t showing up, so that’s why you hadn’t seen any new content. But they’re up now and it’s better. If you ever see anything else wrong with this blog, please leave a comment letting me know. I will also get a contact form up soon which you can use. Now that everything is fixed, I will get back into the normal posting drill! Thank you for your patience.

2007-07-18 05:38:30
If you’re a normal blogger or website owner, you’re going to want more traffic. You might even search all over the web for great ways to generate or increase your traffic. I have compiled a list of 75 ways to increase your site’s traffic. This list is different from others because it contains simple, original ideas and off-the-wall, unique ideas. If you’re looking for more people to see your website or your blog, then you’re at the right article! Out of all these 75 tips, I can assure you that most of them will work for your site or blog. Write more content. If you want traffic, you’ve got to write content. People will not visit your site if you don’t write a decent amount of good quality content, and new visitors definitely won’t come back. So keep writing great posts! Have a good design and layout. If your site or blog’s design is messy, sloppy, hard to navigate, a rainbow of colors that don’t match or are hard on the e

All in One SEO Pack - You Need This!
2007-07-17 08:45:35
Lately I have told myself I need to get up off my butt and do some work on this blog. I’ve always been a lazy person, and I know that just won’t do. So I’m going to try to work harder. Well, last night I got all freaked out over search engine optimization. It’s not something I’ve ever focused on a whole lot, even thought I know it’s extremely important. I’ve been installing a lot of plugins these past couple days, as you might have noticed, so I went ahead and got a plugin that is perfect for my search engine optimization. That plugin is the All in One SEO Pack. It absolutely perfect. After you have it installed and activated you just go to your Wordpress dashboard then go to the Options tab, and then there is a sub-tab for All In One SEO. It lets you type your home page’s title, your home description, and your home keywords. On the ‘write post’ page when you’re creating a post it lets you select the title for the po

Take a Break with Games
2007-07-17 05:57:44
I figured it’s time for another post containing fun games. No matter how much I love blogging, I can get sick and tired of it. Sometimes I just want to take a break, and I can often solve my frustration and calm my nerves with a few quick games. I have a whole folder in my bookmarks of “fun stuff” and I’d like to share a couple with you today. Fish Tales is a cute little game that has relaxing music (or at least, in my opinion). One of the best things is, you get to eat fish that are littler than you are. But beware, stay away from those whoppers that aren’t so small, because they’ll eat you (which won’t be so good for your frustration)! This game is fun but the only bad thing is, it’ll take a long time to complete and you can’t save it. Okay, okay, this game is so far from soothing, it can actually be downright stressful at times. But Noah’s Ark is still a very fun game and if you’re just trying to have a good time

Review of the AntiSocial Plugin
2007-07-16 19:45:57
The AntiSocial plugin is quite the opposite of how the name makes it sound. After the AntiSocial plugin is installed Wordpress shows a line of buttons at the bottom of your posts that let the reader submit and save it to popular social websites (ones that you choose to appear!) To see an example, view the bottom of this post. Readers can click one of the buttons and are taken to submit your post to sites like Reddit, StumbleUpon, Digg, Netscape, and any others of your choosing. Well, what’s so great about that? When your post is submitted it will be shown on these sites that have high traffic. On many your post will be voted on and if it gets a lot of votes it can be seen by enormous amounts of people and you could have new loyal readers, or at least a large spike in traffic. This is always a good thing. If you do not have a plugin installed that lets your readers submit and save your site, what are the chances that they will go out of their way and do it? With this plugin al

Dealing with Writer’s Block
2007-07-23 05:03:29
I’ve recently been dealing with writer’s block along with being busy with a lot of other things, and I confess, it’s gotten to me. Writer ’s block (and maybe a fraction of laziness) has caused me to miss some days posting. I’ve had absolutely no ideas, and even the list of a few ideas I had written down seemed like they wouldn’t make good posts to me. Hopefully I’m getting over my short burst of writer’s block, but if this ever happens to you, here are a few tips to avoid the block. Keep a list of your post ideas. Your list can be kept in a Word document on the computer, or the old-fashioned way on paper. I keep my list of post ideas in a binder. I have bad habit of coming up with a good idea for a post and then forgetting it later on, so the list I’m keeping is usually such a huge help to me. Whenever you get an idea for a post, write its description or a potential post title if you think of one. And then later, when you need t

Going Back In Time…
2007-07-22 05:29:28
Welcome to my first post that takes you back in time. Here I will link to other fantastic articles from my blog that I’ve written in the past, that I think you should read. Sometimes you will write a post, but it never gets the credit or attention it deserves. Not only can you link to these articles in the sidebar, but you can write up a post featuring them like I am now. So I’m going to take you back in Super Blogging’s younger days… Need Free Images for Your Blog Posts? - In this post I talk about where you can find good quality images at no cost to use on your blog. When it Comes to Blogging, Don’t Discard a Single Idea - When you have an idea for a post, don’t throw it away when you can come up with one thing to go against it. Save every single idea. Don’t Cram Your Blog with Ads - Nothing drives me away from a blog more than one that’s full of unmatched colors and dozens of advertisements. Be professional, be organized, and you&

Don’t Waste Your Life Blogging
2007-07-28 06:08:14
I have realized something, and what I have realized is that I spend too much time online. I am constantly checking on my stats, looking at my blog, and dreaming up ways to make more money online. I get so wrapped up in blogging and what I’m doing that I hardly do other things offline. I don’t spend enough time with my family. I don’t work on other, more important things that I should be doing, or even other things that I enjoy doing. And the thing is, even when I am online, I’m usually just wasting my time by browsing or staring in my stats when they haven’t changed since five minutes ago. If I do decide to spend all my life on the internet, I should at least spend it writing good quality content. But I’ve decided not to waste my life. I don’t know about you, but I think spending time with my family and focusing on other things can be much more important. If I’m going to give you one piece of advice, I’ll tell you not let it con

Get Ready for the Upcoming PageRank Update
2007-07-26 05:06:15
If you haven’t already started thinking about the upcoming PageRank update, you’d better start. The higher your PageRank, the more authority your site has and the more money you can make. Today I will go over PageRank, what it is, how to improve yours, and how to make money from it. What is PageRank? PageRank is basically calculated using links, and there are three major parts to how it is measured. Those include the number of pages linking to the site and the PageRank of those pages. The number of outgoing links in your site also plays a role in your PageRank. The more sites you link to, the more of your PageRank “juice” you are giving away. The more sites that link to you, the better your PageRank will be. If those sites that link to you have high PageRanks, then your rankings will be even better. Take a look at the diagram below to help you understand. Improving your PageRank Improving your PageRank is not hard at all, especially if you’re dedicate

So You Want to Guest Blog?
2007-07-30 05:04:17
I think it’s about time I find a few people who are willing to guest blog for Super Blogging. I have been leaving gaps in my blog because I haven’t been able to post everyday, and I need someone to fill them. I think guest blogging would be the perfect opportunity for you and for me. It’s something I’ve never offered before and something I’ve never even done myself. If you’re wondering what you’d get out of it, then there are good benefits. Your writing and name will be up on another blog for more exposure to you, and I will give you a link back for writing for me. And if I like your writing style enough and I think you’d be a great addition to this blog every once and a while, I could make you a regular author if you wanted. I don’t ask much - only what should be expected. Your post’s topic should be matched to what this blog is about - blogging tips, search engine optimization, traffic generation, making money online, or

Your Blog Can Be Whatever You Want It To Be
2007-08-05 04:55:17
I used to have rules set in my head about what a blog was, and so many people are misled by what others claim a blog is, and how one should be run. But I now have branched out a little more and realized that I can do what I want and not be afraid that others won’t approve or that my blog will suffer for what I’ve done. Because a blog is personal, a blog is whatever you want it to be. After Kumiko from Cash Quests removed comments from her blog, she posted about how many people said ‘a blog isn’t a blog without comments’ or some variation of that. Kumiko says that that is chaining yourself to a level of thinking that will never get you to success. I used to be like that - a blog isn’t a blog without comments - but now I realize that if you want to stand out and if you want to make your blog truly yours, you can’t be afraid of what other people think and say. You can’t chain yourself down to a small set of rules. You don’t always

Why You Should Write a Pillar Post
2007-08-03 03:47:08
What is a pillar post? A pillar post is a post that is very long, instructional, and is usually a list (or at least that’s what I like to call it). A pillar post can take many, many hours and up to days to write, but they are definitely worth it. On July 18 I published a post called 75 Ways to Increase Your Site’s Traffic. I like to refer to it as a pillar post. It is a list of 75 items and is instructional, telling you how to get more traffic to your site or blog. You should write one because people love posts like that. They can get so much from it and they can tell you are very serious about what you’re doing. I’ve gotten more comments on that post than any other, and also more people have linked to it. Pillar posts are not hard to write. No matter what your niche, a pillar post cannot be very hard to write, or even to come up with an idea for one. True, they might take awhile, but they aren’t hard. For my pillar post, I chose a very general topic i

More People Use StumbleUpon Than I Thought
2007-08-07 05:44:02
Previously I wrote about my success with StumbleUpon . I realized how powerful StumbleUpon is as a source for generating traffic, and how they’re ten times as great when you write a StumbleUpon perfect article (which in my case was a short list containing five items about helpful sites. When your article is rated a thumbs up, dozens, hundreds, and even in some cases thousands of people can stumble upon it. The more people rate your article a thumbs up, the more people it is exposed to. This makes StumbleUpon a very helpful resource for all bloggers. Not only can you use it for increasing your income of traffic, but if you ever get bored or need some inspiration, you can check out some other random sites of your interests. But recently I conducted a poll on this blog asking if people used StumbleUpon or not. A whopping 38 people said yes, and just 5 said no. And then again, 3 people didn’t know what StumbleUpon is. Of course, my blog is more aimed to the types of people w

3 Reasons Why People Like List Posts More
2007-08-13 08:09:25
Before I talked about why you should write a pillar post. The content of pillar posts is often put into list format, but pillar posts are also a whole lot longer and their content should usually be timeless. Pillar posts in the form of lists are a lot more popular and successful. In fact, any kind of list post, long or short, is more popular overall. People like lists more! You might be wondering why, and if you are, I have some answers. People are lazy. You know it’s true. I’m very lazy, and I can safely bet that you are to at least some extent. Everyone is. And since people are lazy, they often scan posts. Who wants to read a post full of huge, chunky paragraphs? People much more prefer to be able to read a list, which they can skim through easily while still taking in all of what you’ve written. Lists are more organized. With a list post, your blog looks clean, organized, and professional. And again, I can make a safe bet: Most people will like reading a blog tha

Advertising: Cut Out the Middle Man and Make More Money
2007-08-13 05:11:12
When you use other programs like Smorty, PayPerPost, and ReviewMe, you’re either following someone else’s strict rules, having a huge percentage of your earnings taken from you, or hardly making anything at all in the first place. Why let some company control your advertising, reviews sales, AND how much you’re paid for it? My advice: cut out the middle man. Basically, that means that you shouldn’t use these other programs (or at least, they shouldn’t be all you use). What you SHOULD do is set up your own advertising system. Set up a contact or payment form and offer links for sale at the top of your sidebar. Do a review system where you offer to review a person’s site and create a buzz and get traffic for them, for a set price. When you use ReviewMe, they take half of the money you make and put it in their own pockets. Think about it: with your reviews and advertising, you could be making twice as much! So instead of relying on those money-hungry co

Become a Bookmark and an Authority in One Post
2007-08-12 08:17:11
By no means am I new to blogging, I’m certainly new to writing about blogging so don’t feel like I have to write about the same things over and over again (not sure how long that’ll last). One thing I did notice recently in that 1 Post I received 12 comments when I normally didn’t have any, most of those saying they bookmarked the post and because the subject of the post was very general to my niche I’m now seen as more of an authority. So, what did I write about? Well the answer is simple…I wrote a list. The list I wrote was regarding the best blog posts ever written in my niche, and you can do exactly the same for your niche. Don’t cringe at the thought of giving away all that ‘link love’. Your site is for your readers first and search engines second. If you know that you are going to raise your own status and provide tremendous value for your website visitors then who cares about search engines? They will probably still rank the

Become A Super Blogging Contributor INSTANTLY!
2007-08-12 05:12:27
All right, I’m going to get to the point… Earlier I spoke about the opportunity of guest blogging for Super Blogging readers. Now I’d like to do it the easier way, and let you sign up to be a contributor of this blog yourself. Are you up to the challenge? Heh, sorry, it’s just a little more exciting to word it that way. So here’s the details: If you have the guts, you can register on this blog. Then you can go write an article, assign its proper category (or categories), give it its keywords, etc. After you’re completely finished with your article, you can save it. I will be going through these saved posts and when there is one that has been well proofread and isn’t a topic I already discuss too regularly, it will be posted. The article has to be about, of course, one of Super Blogging’s topics (blogging tips, making money online, search engine optimization, exposure, internet marketing, traffic generation, and lots more). ProBlogger Has A New Design (And I Do, Too!)
2007-08-11 12:11:54
Darren Rowse said that ProBlogger would be getting a new design, and now the theme is here. I have to say, I love it! The new layout is cleaner, more organized, easier to read, and all around fantastic. Click here to read the post about the theme’s official launch, and do check out the layout for yourself… I think it’s excellent. Anyway, this is something I connect to. As you might have noticed, in the sidebar I’ve been polling whether my readers think this blog needs a new theme or not. This one isn’t that old (a couple months), but I’m a person that gets tired of things awfully fast. And most of you agree, because many are voting that yes, Super Blogging needs a new layout. So I’ve done it. There’s currently a new design on this blog and I like it a lot. It comes with three colors - you can select between red, green, and blue. It also has three sidebars, which might turn out to be very useful. I’m not sure if this theme is going

Converting Visitors Into Subscribers
2007-08-16 05:01:27
One of the biggest keys to creating a successful blog is gaining new subscribers (and of course retaining the ones you already have). Even a small increase in your conversion rate can really make a big difference. Here are 10 ways you can start increasing the number of readers that become subscribers. 1 – Write quality content The best way to convert readers to subscribers is simply by providing content that they know they will want to read on a regular basis. Give them information that can’t find anywhere else and you’ll have no problem gaining new subscribers. 2 – Ask for the subscription You may be surprised at how much you can increase your subscriber numbers by simply asking for the subscription. 3 – Make your subscription link prominent on every page Visitors should easily see your subscription link as soon as they enter any of your pages. Many bloggers use the top of the sidebar for the placement of this link. Wherever it will attract your readers attention is where it

Unclutter Your Sidebar
2007-08-15 04:55:17
A cluttered sidebar is a big turnoff to your readers. If there is too much in your sidebar, irrelevant items, and especially if the visitor cannot locate what they’re looking for, then you’re in trouble. Today I’m challenging you to just one simple thing: clean out your sidebar (or at least add it to your to-do list). Step one: Clean out your blogroll. Narrow it down to only a few sites that you think are fantastic and definitely shouldn’t be removed. If you’ve link exchanged with anyone, let them know if you’re removing their link. Not everyone does this but I think it’s polite. Your blog should be less of a mess already, and you’re also saving some of your Google juice by removing all those outgoing links! Step two: Remove other irrelevant links, banners, and affiliate images. If you have a big image showing off your PageRank, it’s only in the way. Not that many people are interested in how your page is ranked except for future ad

Create Some Controversy and Voice Your Own Opinion
2007-08-14 04:59:45
You want everyone to like your blog. Therefore, you’re afraid to disagree. You don’t want to voice your own opinion when it could possibly go against what another (maybe even more popular) blogger thinks. You want to become an a-lister, but yet you’re afraid to stand out. If this sounds like you, keep reading. Nowadays it seems there are more “rules” that bloggers have to conform to, more molds to shape their blogs. But in reality, there are no rules. Your blog can be whatever you want it to be. And nowadays it seems even more bloggers, especially the new ones, are being intimidated by the more successful bloggers. Many bloggers fall behind in the shadows and are never noticed because they’re too afraid. DON’T be afraid to do something with your blog that is out of the norm! When Kumiko removed comments from her blog, she got a lot of crap from people telling her that a blog isn’t a blog without comments. I used to think like that, but I

Plan When You Post Before You Publish
2007-08-20 04:35:51
It’s not only important to plan what day of the week you post what on, but to plan what time you post as well. And both of these decisions aren’t the same for everyone; they depend on what niche your blog focuses on. I’ve been studying my blog’s traffic trends, and I noticed my highest traffic day is a Tuesday, the second highest is Thursday, and the day where the least amount of people come to this blog is Saturday. Knowing this information is very important, because with it I can plan when to post about certain topics to get the most out of them. For example, if I write a pillar post that I’ve worked really hard on, I would want to avoid posting it on the weekends when people are off the computers. Instead, it would be wise to publish the post on a Tuesday or Thursday, to get the highest benefit and exposure from it. To figure out your busiest and slowest days of the week, Stat Counter can be extremely handy, along with Google Analytics. Besides knowing

5 Handy Sites You Need To Know About
2007-08-19 05:05:22
I’ve composed my next list of five sites that you shouldn’t miss out on. For some more helpful sites you should be aware of, including a form-creator, keyword suggestion tool, and free icons, click here. With my lists of handy sites, I’m trying to bring attention to you tools that could make your life easier and better. Here we go… 1. StatCounter - If you have your own site, then this is perfect for you. You should be signed up for other statistic trackers such as Google Analytics (especially because all the information it provides), but this one is easy with no strings attached. Configure and put in an invisible (or even visible, if you want) tracker on your site, and you can login anytime and see how you’re doing. StatCounter is, like I said, simple. They offer graphs but don’t go into too much else detail. However, you want a variety of stats keepers to get a good idea, so if you’re using Google Analytics and nothing else, I recommend you

Will Guest Blogging Ruin Your Site?
2007-08-17 05:02:20
I recently saw a post on Kumiko’s blog titled All Guest Bloggers Must Die. As soon as I read the title I was instantly lured in. But although I do agree with some points Kumiko makes, I have to say that overall, I do disagree with her. Will guest blogging ruin your site? Kumiko thinks so, but I don’t. Many people agree that they only go to a blog for what its author has to say - and when you bring in the guest bloggers, that totally defies the purpose and takes away all pleasure of reading your blog. But is this really true? Not for me. Kevin has just gotten a team of authors together for his blog, and so far I love reading what each and every one of them has to say. Not only do all of his readers seem happy with the decision, but the authors get a chance for exposure on another blog and Kevin gets some well-deserved time off. The sole important thing is making sure that you get a decent guest blogger - not one that couldn’t care less. It’s true that people won&

The Importance of Having Your Site Reviewed
2007-08-24 05:02:08
A couple of days ago I was over at CourtneyTuttle.com and saw that he was having a very generous contest where you tell him a little about your site and then he will choose a winner and give them a free review. I thought I’d give it a shot, and I was very surprised when I went back to Court’s blog the next day and saw that I’d won! Click to read the review. I had noticed (and am still noticing) a great increase in traffic. The RSS subscribers count is already going up, but in the next few days I’m sure it’ll be even better. But not only am I getting traffic and subscribers from the review, I’m getting exposure. Having people know who you are and have a positive impression of you is very important if you hope to get anywhere. The point of this post is to tell you that it is important to have your site reviewed. Most of the time you’re going to have to pay for it, and I just got very lucky with Court’s extreme kindness. But even when you do

John Chow Makes More Money With A New Theme
2007-08-23 07:11:08
It’s pretty big news about right now; John Chow’s got a new design (created by Nate Whitehill). If you haven’t seen it yet, take a peek at the preview below: I really like the new theme. To be honest, the old one was bland and I often wondered how someone with so much money couldn’t come up with something better. But now the blog has a more professional feel. It is sharp, bright, and still very well organized - and all of that without being too flashy. Nate definitely did a good job, and he was smart to offer the design for free. Not only does he get a lot of exposure for it, but a link at the bottom of the site that appears on every single page! Oh yes, I believe I’m supposed to mention how John is making money with his new theme. Well, if you haven’t noticed, it does contain a lot more advertising. The eight sponsor buttons on the sidebar are all new and came with the new design. Each one of them cost $500 per month, according to Mr. Chow - now th

A New Twist on Wordpress Contact Forms
2007-08-23 04:31:36
The form I’m using on my contact page is more unusual than you might think! It’s a contact form with a twist (and when I say twist, I mean new advantage). Today I’m going to tell you all about it, so if you’re on the lookout for a new contact form then you’re in luck. It’s called the Simple Wordpress Contact Form, and the plugin page can be found here. Like the name says, it’s very simple. Commentators can leave their name, email, link, and message. Then their message heads straight for your email inbox - but that’s not the only place it goes! The Simple Wordpress Contact Form doesn’t only deliver the message to your email, but it uses the Wordpress comments routine. A section is added to the comments part of your admin panel titled “Contact Messages”. If you can’t currently access your email or just don’t want to, then you can retrieve their message and read it within Wordpress! But if you want to reply, y

Get Exposure and Higher Rankings UNBELIEVABLY CHEAP!
2007-08-21 05:08:55
I always find those high prices of advertising on other blogs ridiculous. A hundred dollars for a review? Twenty bucks for a link in their sidebar that only lasts a week? It’s basically like they’re stealing your money. It can be downright hard to get visitors to your blog, especially if you’re new to the whole concept. And it’s even harder if everyone is charging insane prices to “help” - but really, they’re only thinking of making money for themselves. Super Blogging is now offering advertising for an unbelievably cheap price of only five dollars. It’s far from easy to get the amounts of traffic that you want, or even that high PageRank you dream of. Advertising on Super Blogging can help you with that, and the price is cheaper than any other out there. For only five dollars, your site will be listed in the “Recommended Sites” section of the sidebar with your choice of anchor text. Your link will remain there until September

4 Ways to Check Your Blog’s Health
2007-08-28 04:43:29
You work hard on writing new content for your blog, you reply to all your comments, you link out to other bloggers, you are always perfecting your design, and you try your hardest to get each post into the search engines. That’s fantastic and what makes a great blogger, so keep it up! But one other important thing is to know how healthy your blog is. This might sound silly, but it’s true! You need to check your SEO, meta tags, PageRank, social bookmarking stats, who you’re linking out to (not all sites are reputable), feed information, backlinks, website structure, and much more. All of this (and many other things) are important to maintain a healthy blog. If you want to improve your blog’s overall health, first you must learn where you stand. 1. Meta Tag Analysis - Having a good title, description, and keywords is extremely important for your SEO. Using this quick tool, you can make sure the sizes of all your meta information is right for the search engines. If

Write a Letter to Your Future Self
2007-08-27 04:11:13
Two days ago I came across a site called Future Me. You fill out a form with your email address, the subject of the message, the message body, and the date to send the email. You can also choose if it’s private or public (but anonymous). If it’s private, it won’t be added to the gallery of nameless emails that people have written to their future selfs (which you can go and read any time, they’re awfully interesting). If you don’t understand the point of the site, basically you go and write a message to yourself, and it will be delivered to your email on the date you set. For example, you can write a message today and have it sent to yourself in six months, a year, or even ten years from now. Future Me is fantastic and can be used for many things. You can write about awesome memories that you think you might forget, and have it sent to yourself. You can write your current expectations for how you hope to be in a certain amount of years, and after all those
