I Wish For Wordpress 2007-05-28 23:10:00 Man, was I stupid when I first seriously stepped foot in the blogging world. I've been planning to write up a post with my top blogging mistakes for awhile now, and not hosting my blog on Wordpress
would be first on the list. What was I thinking? I wanted to blog for free, that's what I was thinking. I signed up for Blogger, which I now hate. But now paying 15 dollars a year for a Wordpress blog
Fun, Addictive Games 2007-05-28 19:30:00 Blogging can get exhausting after awhile, no matter how much you're in love with it. I could spend all day long writing content, reading other blogs, trying to get new traffic and making money online. But even too much of a good thing is bad. If you spend eight hours a day, seven days a week around blogging, then it might start to seem a little like a chore and get a little tiring. You don't Read more:Addictive

I HATE Blogger 2007-05-27 21:02:00 That's it, I just can't take it anymore! I'd written up a 'statistics and earnings update', and it had taken me about 2 hours to compose. Throughout the time as I was writing my post, I constantly clicked the 'save now' button so if I lost what I was writing, I could go to drafts and just get it back. Whenever I clicked 'save now', Blogger
told me it was saved.

My Technorati Rank is Below 100,000! 2007-05-31 17:39:00 ANNOUNCEMENT! I was curious, so I went to Technorati
to check up on my rankings and see how my blog was doing. I was thrilled with what I saw - my rank is 99,322, which is below 100,000! I know it's nothing special and nothing to really brag about, but it's just a new milestone for me and I'm happy. =) However... There's a downside to this.I'm switching domains sometime within the next few days, so I'll have to start all over again. No more rank below 100,000. With my new domain, I'll be in the millions again, working my way down. Hopefully I'll figure out some way to get my rank back where it should be quickly, with an awesome idea or a unique competition.Anyway, new milestones like this just make me happy. My blog, although still tiny and hardly anything at all, has reached new levels that I never dreamed it would. And even when I have my new domain, it'll only get better! =)I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me lately, and I'd also like to thank the Technorati comm Read more:Below

What Should My Domain Be? 2007-05-30 18:58:00 As you probably already know, I hate Blogger and I'm switching to Wordpress. Get More Traffic with the Right Image Tags 2007-06-08 06:38:07
Have you ever thought about the keywords you enter when you’re searching for an image on Google? Have you ever thought about putting those keywords to use in your own blog? If you do it right, your images can show up in the searches and lead a lot of visitors to your site. So why not? Learn how to properly tag your images to get in on the advantages!
It’s not complicated and it takes hardly any time at all to add the proper coding to your images, and the few seconds you do take to do this will pay off when your blog gets more clicks through image search!
Make sure your SRC is right. That’s basically the URL/link to the image. Then make sure you specify the height and width of the image. Now the most important parts… The Alt tag is where you describe your image, and where the keywords are. Then title your image. I usually make the title about the same thing as the Alt tag. This helps to ensure the quality of the image you’re providing. So, when it Read more:Right

Hop on the ViralTags Wagon 2007-06-08 00:35:07 I came across this on CourtneyTuttle.com today. It’s pretty much exactly like the Andy Coates Viralink, except this time you get to add anchor text instead of just the asterisk. Jimmy Huen from FoundersCafe came up with this and it’s genius! Hurry and join in on this today, before that many people. If you’re one of the first, you get the advantage of being linked to more times!
================Copy and Paste below this line==============
Instructions:
1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “ViralTags” below courtesy of Founders Cafe.
2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice with your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.
3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over Read more:Wagon

Get Traffic with Trackbacks 2007-06-06 07:00:48 There are a lot of good reasons why you should link to other posts that you find helpful or that you get your information from. Linking is a big part of being a blogger, so help others by linking to their posts! You help your readers too, when you link to relevant posts. That way they can read on and learn more. But wait, that’s not all! When you link to another person’s post inside your post, it creates a link back to you, or a trackback (can also be called a pingback).
Up until I read Kevin’s helpful post, I did not really understand what trackbacks were, but now I’m taking full advantage of them! Some others who blogged about trackbacks were Stephen Welton, Dylan Kingsberry, and Leroy Brown. They’re all getting in on the pros of trackbacks!
If you don’t know what a trackback/pingback is, it is basically when you are writing a post, you link to another person’s post in yours. Then on their post page, if they haven’t turned trackbacks of
Viralink Train - Get Loads of Links! 2007-06-05 23:57:47 I confess, I started in on this a little late, but it came about RIGHT when I was doing my domain switch, which was pretty unhandy. But my new domain currently has zero linkbacks from actual sites, and I’m a little desperate! So if you haven’t done the Viralink yet, here’s your chance. This was created by Andy Coates and will surely get you a lot of links. All you have to do is copy everything, paste it into a post, and add your link to one of the stars.

Below is a matrix of 120 stars, I have already added a link to my blog onto one of the stars, all you need to do is copy and paste the grid into your blog and add your own link to one of the other spare stars, and tell others to do the same!

Cheers to my New Domain! 2007-06-05 22:01:29 I’m so happy I could just scream! I finally have my new domain set up and ready (that’s right, you’re looking at it). I know I haven’t posted in some time but I’m back and ready to roll. I moved from a free Blogger blog to a self-hosted Wordpress blog, and there was a lot of work and I lot of things I had trouble with. My main trouble that kept me busy these past couple of days was importing my old posts, but I finally got it after I changed some of my blog’s permissions so Wordpress could access it. Luckily I had a lot of kind people help me along the way of my transition, and I want to thank them all.

The Wordpress Timestamp Features Comes in Handy 2007-06-11 07:58:10
I’m happy I switched to Wordpress
for many reasons, but one of my favorite parts is the ability to write a post and decide exactly what date and time it will be published. This is called the timestamp feature, and I’m using it right now! In all honestly, I’m writing this post June 8th, at 3:30 PM. But it will actually appear on my blog in a few days!
I’m not a morning person, unfortunately. I stay up too late and sleep in too long. There is a big downside to this in the blogging world. Whenever I would make a post, it would be late in the day, and it would be much better if I could get it up early in the morning. But now with Wordpress timestamp, I can do just that! I write my posts the night or a couple nights before, and then I timestamp them to publish in the morning. It’s so helpful to a person like me!
Also, if you’re ever going on a trip and will be away for a few days or a week or however long (I’ll be gone on a trip from around the Read more:Handy
Results of ViralTags and ViraLink Trains 2007-06-10 22:09:17
Yesterday when I got on Technorati, I was amazed. But now I’m even more shocked seeing today’s results of the ViralTags and ViraLink projects. It just keeps getting better and better. My original Super Blogging was up for a couple months and right when I made the switch to self hosted Wordpress, it barely made it under the Technorati rank of 100,000.
But in just a few days, now my authority is 74 and my rank is 66,087. And even better is, these numbers grow each hour! You want proof? I just went back and refreshed my Technorati after only about 10 minutes, and now my authority is 76 and my rank is 64,212. It’s unbelievable for me, when I couldn’t even get this amount of links in months, let alone a few days. These viral trains, especially the ViralTags, are SO effective!
Of course they haven’t gotten me anymore traffic, but let’s look at this way: I’ve now got a Technorati rank that’s astonishing to me, and I will have a much bett Read more:Trains
MyCoolButton - Free Button Maker 2007-06-10 07:01:56
Have you ever wished you could make a cool button, one that is unbelievably modern and web 2.0? But sometimes you don’t have the skills or the time to do it yourself. Well, with MyCoolButton you can have a button that just screams professionality.
The first step is you choose how big your button will be. There is a slider so it’s super easy. Minimum amount is 100 pixels, maximum is 200. The second step is choosing your color. There are visible samples, organized in “neutrals”, “bold”, and “muted” colors. Or you can pick your own completely unique color. The third step you can choose whether there will be an icon or not. You can upload your own icon, or choose from ones they have. They have an RSS icon, Youtube icon, Feedburner icon, and more. Great for promoting yourself! And through dropdowns you get to choose your icon size and alignment. The last step is your font and text. You can choose text to go along with your icon or your b
Get Reviewed for Free with ReviewBack 2007-06-09 07:43:28
There are a lot of ways to promote your blog online, but one of the biggest and the most effective is getting it reviewed on another person’s blog or website. Getting your blog reviewed has always costed quite a lot of dough until now - now it can be free, with ReviewBack!
ReviewBack was created by the same people who thought up AdGridWork. Its beta launch was June 6. ReviewBack is an exchange system where you review someone else’s site and they review yours. There is a database of blogs and you can either request the reviews or wait until others request from you. I’ve already signed up and the program appears to be very easy to use. If you want to swap reviews with me, click here. I won’t review with just everyone though
I can see ReviewBack becoming very big in the future, and I have a lot of hope in this system. It’s a great idea, especially for those bloggers out there (like me) who can’t yet afford to purchase high dollar reviews from oth
Wordpress Plugin: Brian’s Threaded Comments 2007-06-08 20:51:53
I just got a new plugin, and it’s called Brian
’s Threaded Comments
. Usually when a post has comments from numerous people and I reply, I have to address those people by name and reply all in one comment. With Brian’s Threaded Comments, I can reply directly, and my response will appear right under your comment you so won’t have to search
This plugin also allows more discussion throughout the comments, since you can basically comment on other people’s comments! I’ve seen threaded (aka nested) comments on other blogs before, and they’ve proved to be a big success and help.
One thing I don’t like is that when I replaced my usual comments.php file with the new one, it changed how my ‘leave a comment’ area looks. Of course, it’s not such a big deal, but the worst part is that now I have to sign in and leave my name and email with every comment. I used to never have to sign in, as it recognized me as the blog owner. I wo Read more:Wordpress

If You Want to Blog You Should Know… 2007-06-14 06:55:31
That it’s not a get rich quick scheme. 99% of bloggers don’t ever get what I would call ‘rich’ by blogging! Some exceptions might be John Chow, Darren Rowse, Shoemoney (Jeremy Schoemaker), and Steve Pavlina. If your ONLY reason for starting a blog is to earn some money, you’d better rethink your plans or hope for some serious luck to be on your side.
That it’s not just all fun and games. Blogging is actually quite a bit more work than beginning bloggers realize! When I first started, I didn’t even understand all the work that blogging entails. You constantly have to work on writing great content, keeping up relationships with other bloggers and meeting NEW bloggers, trying to get your links and traffic to increase, tweaking your layout and design, and so much more. If you don’t have time to devote or patience for this, then blogging might not be for you.
That you need to pick a topic you enjoy. If you don’t choose the right Read more:hellip
Use Blog Carnivals to get Maximum Exposure and Linkage 2007-06-13 08:12:59
What is a blog carnival?
That’s a great question, for many people don’t know the answer! To tell you the truth, I’ve known about blog carnivals for a couple of months, but I didn’t fully understand them until just a few days ago. I definitely don’t consider myself an expert in this field, but blogging is a learning process, and I intend to do a lot of learning and helping others learn too.
Anyway, to answer the question, a blog carnival is not an actual carnival with lions, elephants, acrobats, and clowns. It is actually a type of blogging event. Blog carnivals are published on a regular basis, and a lot of the time each edition is hosted on a different blog (but not always). The publishings can be weekly, monthly, the first Saturday each month, or just anytime the creator wants to.
Why should I enter a blog carnival?
When you submit one of your posts/articles to a carnival, it will most likely be featured in the carnival’s next edition. This w Read more:Carnivals

When it Comes to Blogging, Don’t Discard a Single Idea 2007-06-12 06:59:02
I confess, I used to have a huge problem with being so picky and hard on myself about everything. If I had an idea about a post I could make, over half the time I’d end up criticizing myself and giving reasons why the post wouldn’t work out (when it really would). I’d tell myself, “Oh, it’s too far off topic” or, “It doesn’t apply to the majority” and, “It’s just stupid”. Some of my ideas really wouldn’t have been so bad, but I tossed them out, and that caused me to go plenty of days without a single post.
Blogging
is a very flexible job. Even more, it’s a job that YOU control. You’re the boss and if you have a good topic for a post, hold onto it. Even if you decide not to make the post right away (or even never, for whatever reason), you should create a draft and save it so you’ll remember the idea. Or you can have a document on the computer storing your post ideas, or even a notebook.
10 Wordpress Plugins You Can’t Miss Out On 2007-06-17 06:35:56
I’m so happy I switched to Wordpress
, and I love all the plugins that are offered. Because my domain with Wordpress is still new, I’m installing new plugins and tweaking things all the time. The 10 plugins I am about to introduce to you are ones I use and love - and ones I know other bloggers use and love! Not all of these are installed on my blog, but some here you might be very interested in.
NoWWW - I have this installed on my blog and I found out about it on CourtneyTuttle.Com. This makes it so your URL never has the WWW included, and even if people type in WWW, they are redirected. This is so Google doesn’t double index your site and its pages; and have both the WWW and the non-WWW version. I really recommend this one!
Adsense - Another plugin currently installed on this blog. This is not one of those fancy Adsense plugins, this one is very simple. Whenever you want to place an Adsense ad in a post, all you do is click the Adsense button on the Write Post Read more:Plugins

How to Get Ranked Highly for Your Keywords 2007-06-16 08:06:32
All bloggers want their blog to be ranked with some great keywords on the first page of Google search. If you don’t want this and don’t have an extremely good reason, I don’t feel bad when I say that you’re crazy. If you ARE that insane blogger and don’t care about your search rankings at all (which bring you a lot more visitors, thus, more money), then you should check out some fun addictive games instead. But if you are curious about what is the best way to get ranked highly for your keywords, then you’re at the right place.
So how do you get on the first page of results for ‘make money online’? There are a lot of different factors that make up your ranking. Some people think it’s keyword density. While keyword density can be helpful to your search engine positions, it’s nothing to obsess over and a lot of the time makes no difference. If you’re stuffing your posts with keywords then your readers will realize it, Read more:Keywords
5 Ways to Keep Your Readers Coming Back for More 2007-06-15 07:04:50
Every blogger strives to have readers that think, “This blog is fantastic! I need to add it to my blogroll so I can come back everyday and encourage my visitors to do the same.” I have quite a few blogs that I am loyal to and I have to go visit each day. I’ve spent some time thinking about this and have composed FIVE REASONS why I go back to their blogs for more, so you can take this list and use it to better your own blog.
1. Offer something UNIQUE. All of the blogs I read daily have a unique feel to them! There are millions of blogs out there and you’ve got to make yours stand apart. You need to offer something different that no one else does. I think Kumiko has a very unique blog, to name an example. Not only has she branded her blog to her name but she’s also made it known as the “blog that is pink”. Other bloggers hold weekly or monthly events that set them apart. I’m still working on perfecting this one.
2. Post new content DA
