The urge for politicians to throw personal attacks at one another has now become an expected part of the election cycle.
But these personal attacks mostly come from the supporters themselves and they get directly connected to the candidate. The campaign commercials we see on television are no longer called campaign advertisements, but “attack ads.” When two candidates debate they come out on stage, shake hands, thank each other for being there, and then they try to stay calm while they are attacking or under attack.

Iraq for Sale-Nova M Radio 2006-10-21 07:59:24 I Remember When I Lost My Mind… for PowersandMorrison.com

I just saw the film Iraq
for Sale, by Robert Greenwald.
The documentary is a searing indictment of the war profiteering perpetrated by four companies - Blackwater, CACI, KBR/Halliburton, and Titan - operating in Iraq.
This well done film exposes the legal, but should be illegal, corporate profiteering that is still going on in Iraq. The truth this film exposes should be spread everywhere around the country. It is a waste of our money being in Iraq where no progress or ‘winning’ can be possible. The president would rather waste money and, more importantly, lives in Iraq rather than admitting he was wrong and giving up. This is a film you definitely should see. As many of you might already know, I’m a big fan of the Tonight
Show wtih Jay Leno
. On Monday night Jay Leno announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be a guest on the show Wednesday, October 11, 2006.
This clearly violates the FCC rules reguarding equal time for political candidates. The Arnold campaign is now calling the appearance an “official visit.”
It turns out that Schwarzenegger’s appearance on The Tonight Show is being considered an “official” visit - meaning taxpayers are footing the bill for his trip.
How exactly is this seen as fair? He is still a candidate for an upcoming election and of course he will be talking politics. This is a really low thing for Jay to do. Yes, the same Jay Leno who said he defined his politics as “fiscally conservative and socially liberal.”
Please help get Angelides

Schwarzenegger-Angelides Debate 2006-10-07 17:06:41 I Remember When I Lost My Mind… for PowersandMorrison.com Saturday, October 7, 2006.
The California Gubernatorial Debate
has just finished. Unfortunately the debate did not receive the major California Media attention it should have. The only networks I found that broadcasted the debate was KCBS 2 and C-Span. Plus there was a whole lot of sports on tonight.
The debate proved to be not very exciting and the same information broadcasted in the commercial advertisements was repeated during the debate. The whole idea of the debate was supposed to be a ‘conversational debate.’ But of course no conversation came up because they each had their already memorized talking points to stick to.
If anybody asks, Angelides
clearly won. He was very calm and gave reasonable answers, and he had a good time calling Arnold out on his actions.

The Moderator was Stan Statham, who served 18 years as a Republican legislator.

“Television is not the truth…” Who can we trust to tell us the news and give us our information? FoxNews? Hell NO! CBS NEWS and Katie Couric? I doubt it. NBC and Brian Williams? Maybe, if he hadn’t mentioned, “it’s my duty to listen to [nationally syndicated radio host] Rush” Limbaugh and that “Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due.”
Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart seek the truth more than all Network News combined. And their shows are mostly comedy. Does comedy reveal truth? Yes, because you are forced to reveal it in order to get laughs.

Anti-Arnold Ads-UHSYD Takes Off! 2006-10-01 10:25:00 I Remember When I Lost My Mind… for PowersandMorrison.com Sunday, October 1, 2006.
With all the new and sometimes annoying ads on tv, it feels sometimes as if you're getting bombarded with so much info and rhetoric that voters have no idea what any of it means.
With new ads by the California Democratic Party and the Alliance for a Better California, some are questioning the Angelides campaign's ability to produce unique ads.
Most will realize that comparing Arnold
to Bush in every new ad, is sometimes just not gonna cut it for voters. Most are smart enough to realize that even though Arnold is a Republican there are still some differences between the two men. Even though they both are some of the greediest men alive.
Money controls them, as if it will make their candidacy. Because it can. Some certain people can buy the election. Who? Corrupt Republicans and the Oil business. The party with the money and the means to keep it all. Democrats keep their money clean and maybe

I must admit, the Democrats do have a long and strenuous battle ahead of them for the 2006 elections. It’s not gonna come as easy as we would hope.
The elections I’m watching:
Arnold (R) vs. Angelides (D) for CA Governor. Have you noticed how much their campaign websites look alike?                                       You know, the flash animation, the buttons above, it’s how most candidates show off their stuff. What I’m saying is that they should be a little more creative. Get some fresh new ideas. Update everyday and often. The internet is the only way of getting info on your candidate.
Dreier (R) vs. Matthews (D) for CA-26 Congressional District.

On September 6, 2006, Dreier (R-Calif.) wrote a piece for USAToday.com In it he “explains” how the Democrats refuse to compromise at all with the Republicans on lobbying reforms. For many Election 2006 candidates Myspace.com is being used as a tool to gain support and votes for their candidacies.

An August 17th article from ABC News gives us a summary of how Phil has lent his support to the Myspace page which was actually created by an unknown supporter.
