A Bitch Has GOT To Laugh!
2007-04-03 20:48:00
First of all, how do you like the new three column layout? It took me two full days to figure it out but FINALLY here it is. I am so proud of myself and you can bet your ass that I am patting myself on the back constantly! Actually, I'm just really excited that my blonde self figured out how to do it. Take THAT Hubby!!Okay, on to the good stuff...I think we should nominate THIS WOMAN as Queen Of The Teenage Moms!! This post is the funniest and most amazing thing I've seen in a long time! Unfortunately, Big B would have been tickled pink to have all those "little condoms" and WE would have found them on everything in the house. Damn kid has grown up with a rotten sarcastic mother and I think he has inherited more than just cancer from me. lol. Crystal, you are my new hero!!Because of all your love, I was lucky enough to last TWO days at TopMomma! It was alot of fun and I'm glad I did it. I even found out that the person I referred to as "That Damn Mud Mask Lady" (to my kids each time

Sponsored Post- Farrey’s Wholesale Hardware Co., Inc.
2007-04-01 21:16:00
Have you heard of Farrey’s Wholesale Hardware Co., Inc.? Me neither until today that is and I can honestly say that I feel like I’ve been missing out as a home owner. I’m a sentimental fool so the first thing I did was read the wonderful story about their history which is quite interesting. They started in 1924 as a small general store in Miami Beach and now here they are 83 years later still going strong. I don’t know about you but I personally like the companies who started out as little “mom and pop” businesses and worked their way up.Now, the reason I feel like I’ve been missing out is because Farrey’s has a huge selection of ceiling fans from quite a few different companies. The hubby and I have been replacing the ceiling fans in our new house with ones bought in our little Podunk town so our choices have been extremely limited. Then I check out Farrey’s website and they have some really cool and classy fans that have me thinking next time we’re ordering online

I actually have stuff to write about today! First of all, it is my turn up at To vote for me (which would make me sooooo happy!) just click HERE. If you don't vote for me, I will just slide off into NotSoTopMama oblivion (enter sad music here). :) Just kidding, just vote for me because ya love me. ;)Then, I found out that I am officially a Blogging Babe. Here is the post that Ronnie chose to Introduce Me. Feel free to leave a comment aka make me look good dammit!Last but not least, I came across a new "blog for money" site called Blogvertise the other night. I haven't had a chance to accept any tasks yet but if you're wanting to pick up some extra money then sign up and give it a try yourself. As you can see once you click, it's not a referral link so I'm just sharing in hopes of helping more mamas. I'd also love to hear from anyone who signs up or has been with them for awhile. :)So that's it for today. It's all about ME can't you tell? lol I've deserved it dammit so just be

If you do one of your own make sure you leave me a comment so I can come "check you out". *wink wink nudge nudge* Also, if anyone knows "Adding A Second Sidebar For Dummies" would you mind emailing me? I'd like to add a lefthand sidebar to this blog but I'm VERY html handicapped! Thanks! Read my Visual DNA™ Get your own VisualDNA™

Who Said Latin Was Boring?
2007-03-14 02:02:00
At least it's not when you go on the internet while drinking a glass of wine looking for phrases for a tattoo and end up HERE. Latin is a fun language dammit! Just look that page! Oh and boy am I glad I found that site because now I have new ways of saying things in my everyday life. Things like..."O! Plus! Perge! Aio! Hui! Hem!"- Which translates to "Oh! More! Go on! Yes! Ooh! Ummm!". PERFECT for the next time I get a facial done at the spa! *snicker*"Ascendo tuum" - Which means "Up yours!" for the guy who cut me off on the I-25 interchange the other day!How about- "Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem" which means "In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags!" for that snotty little brat you can't stand at playgroup? Come on, ya know ya wanna!Do you think I could make the checkout line at Albertson's shorter if I yell out "Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane

Birthdays, Banning, and Blah Blah Blah
2007-03-09 02:21:00
I will begin with my birthday first..of course. :) You see, yesterday I turned 29 (for the fourth year in a row according to my kids) years old. Okay so I'm really 32 but my kids are smart enough to not remind me. lol. Anyway- my birthday became important to me three years ago because of my cancer diagnosis. When the doctor gave me the news some of the first things that went through my head were (besides the obvious ones about my kids)- Am I going to even make it to Christmas? Am I going to see my 30th birthday? I had waited so long to finally turn 30 and in an instant I thought it was being taken from me along with everything I held dear.Luckily we found out that I would definately make it to my 30th (although I'm afraid my adrenal glands weren't there to celebrate) and hopefully many more. Every year that I celebrate another birthday is another year I'm alive to make memories with my husband and children. I no longer care about what I do or don't get, who remembers (except the h

And I thought my living room was dusty! I do believe I'm going to need industrial strength cleaners for this blog. ;) As soon as you are done falling over from shock I'll continue my post. Now?Now?Oh come on already! Put your butt back in that chair! Sheeesh. So here I am after three months of not blogging. For some of that time I honestly have a really good excuse but there's about a month there that I'm just going to have to admit I've been lazy as hell. I'm sorry I haven't been posting and it means alot to see that people still visit this blog. I'm also sorry to the people who had just become regulars when I suddenly stopped. I know how much it sucks to find a blog you like just to see it never get another post or just disappear. I suck, what can I say?My excuse for at least part of the time is that I was sick for two months straight. *grumble* Ugh. I'm still achy everyday and no longer able to spend much time online but I definately want to get back to blogging as much as I

Happy Birthday To My MonkeyBoy
2006-11-30 19:38:00
Today my youngest child, my baby, turns FOUR years old! I've honestly already cried twice today and it's not even noon here yet! lolThe years have gone by entirely too fast and it seems like just yesterday I was pushing against his foot as he kicked inside my stomach. *sniff* Now he's that gorgeous child you see on the left side of my banner up there. His smile alone can melt your heart and when he says "Are you happy at me?", you are lost forever. My MonkeyBoy is a healthy, tall, skinny blonde haired blue-eyed boy who loves to talk, walks on his tiptoes like his Daddy, and can tell the names and facts of over 20 different dinosaurs. He loves watching the Animal Planet and Discovery Science channels as well as Little Einstein's whenever he can catch it. His brother and sister are his best friends and the love/don't like relationship between the three of them is every mother's dream. My oldest two children would give their lives for their little brother and in return MonkeyBoy give

Apologies and a Hug?
2006-11-17 21:02:00
I just want to apologize to the people who actually read and follow this blog that it has been so long and then the one post I did do was about a deadbeat dad. So I'm sorry and thank you for sticking around still. That's also where the hug comes in too. :) Many hugs to everyone who has checked for updates and stuck around. It means alot to me and I will try not to take such a long hiatus again.Let's cover the basics- same crap as usual with the medical stuff except they've added yet another med to the menagerie (it was actually by my request but now I think it's stupid). That is six that I'm on because of the fibro, CMP, and PN and just three that I'm on because of missing organs. LOL. I can't help but laugh that I'm on more for the pain than I am for cancer or organs. My new nickname should be "Train Wreck". heheSecond- kids are doing well. Monkey Boy (formerly known as Lil Man- he swears he's more monkey and NOT little!) has a slight cold and stuffy nose right now but he's

Kirk A. Coiner- "Just The Facts, Ma'am"
2006-11-08 20:36:00
*Updated with a picture of Mr Coiner.* I'm sorry to my regular readers that I haven't been around lately. Due to pain and other things going on I just haven't had the energy but I appreciate you always checking for new posts and promise I will give you one soon. This post is for whoever have been Googling Big B's donor's name lately- Kirk A. Coiner. I feel that if someone (especially another woman) is interested enough to google the name then they may want some information to go with it.Fact 1- Mr. Coiner owes his firstborn son a current total of $17,962.95 . Mr Coiner owes this amount because for seven years he refused to pay his child support which at the time was only $134.00. Anytime the Child Support Division would try to attach his wages he would quit his job. They couldn't take his income tax return because he didn't file one from 1997 on.Fact 2- Mr Coiner stood up in court and actually complained when the judge told him he would pay a higher child support amount. It seems

Say "No" To Hitting And "YES" To Yelling!
2006-10-04 23:46:00
Yelling out that we won't be victims any longer that is! October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and as a survivor of domestic violence myself, this is definately a cause that I will proudly stand up and yell for.Be the voice for those who haven't found theirs yet. Please consider offering your support to your local women's shelter, be a court advocate for both female AND male victims of domestic abuse, or anything else you can think of to help. This is unfortunately yet another area where our courts and justice system fail the victims. Let them know they aren't alone after all. Let them know that someone does care and that they don't deserve this. Here is my contribution to Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It's a poem I wrote many years ago and I'm sure you won't have to ask who it was about after reading it. Whenever I read it I can't help but cry for that woman... knowing what I know now. She couldn't find her voice so she wrote out her pain on paper years later. To

WTF? Wednesday
2006-09-27 04:13:00
Okay I just HAD to play this week because I found this little gem on Amazon and couldn't help but share it. It is real and you really can order it off of Amazon.com . Now WHY you would order it from there and have to pay the shipping on it is beyond me but let's just ignore the fact that they are selling it altogether and focus on the reviews. Go ahead, read a few... I'll wait.*checking hair**picking teeth**sniffing and wondering which of the kids passed gas**holding nose and thinking the heathens are nasty little buggers*Okay are you done? I said read a FEW dammit not all of them!! Stop it! You can finish reading the reviews after you're done reading my post. That's a few less people on my Christmas list this year! hmmpphAnyway, some of those reviews are funny as hell aren't they? I almost fell over when I read this one..."The Day, September 18, 2006 Reviewer: A. Davis "Andy Davis"The day I got this milk was a day I'll never forget. I told you they were little heathens! I finally had to put them all behind bars and show some tough love! That'll teach them to try to grab for my chocolate! ;)No, seriously I thought I would try my hand at designing and while simple and nowhere near as gorgeous as the one Ro made me, it's not bad for a beginner eh? Don't worry though, I have saved the one that Ro made me and will be bringing it back. I'm just one of those ADD adults who has to have new things to look at constantly or I get bored. lolSo this is the debut of my three heathens' faces. This doesn't mean I will start posting regular pictures of them or anything but I asked their permission to use these and feel okay about doing so at present. Of course, if the person from Reston, Virginia doesn't let me know who they are here soon I may have to take them down as that person is creeping out a little. These pics were taken during our "Poor Man's Vacation" to Durango, CO and Silverton, CO back in June. It is really bea

Happy Birthday Sissy!

Today is my only daughter's birthday. I can't believe that this year she is turning 12 and next year she will officially be a teenager. :( The time just goes too damn fast no matter how much you wish it would slow down.Tonight we are having a slumber party for her and four of her friends. I never thought I would be crazy enough to do this a second time (she had one for her 9th birthday) but here I am. The only reason I did it was because she wanted one so badly and I thought I could do it cheaply. After totalling up everything though this cost me more than the guitar I bought Big B for his birthday. OY!At least I planned better this time and had a list of games, crafts, gift bag goodies, and other things that they could do and have. Last time I basically was winging it and what a nightmart that was! Last time I did the popular "decorate a pillowcase" idea and ended up with fabric paint all over my dining room table and the carpets in the living room. My husband wanted to choked me fo

I've Been Tagged...Damn Her!
2006-09-13 03:01:00
My blogfriend, Joy, has tagged me for the book meme going around so here it goes...A book that changed my life- Honestly? There hasn't been one yet. I've read probably thousands of books over the years and none have really been life changing. :( I think the closest I've come so far is Robert Fulghum's "Everything I Needed To Know I learned In Kindergarten". I read that book during a very rough time in my life and being able to let go, realize that life goes on, and laugh at myself were things I really needed to learn.Right now I'm reading Fibromyalgia & Chronic Myofascial Pain A Survival Manual (2nd Edition) by Devin Starlanyl and hoping beyond hope that it brings me life changing info to help with my Fibro and CMP.A book I've read more than once- Every book Robert Fulghum has written (own them too. lol)A book I would take with me if I were stuck on a deserted island- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Hey, if I'm going to be stuck on some stinking island I might as well have a thick

I'm Brave Not Crazy!!

Or at least that is what I kept telling myself today when I went to the mall...on a Saturday! Nobody in their right mind goes to the mall on the weekend! Okay so not anyone that can't stand large crowds of people like me anyway. :)Today at the big mall here in town the local Radio Disney station was doing giveaways and had the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well. Lil Man LOVES the Ninja Turtles so there was no way we weren't going to it. Sis was the one who found out about it but she had a surprise party to go to so Big B (with his mohawk fully spiked), Lil Man, and I went by ourselves.Big B sat with his brother while I went from booth to booth signing up for the prize giveaways. They had Cabbage Patch Kids, Ninja Turtles, and Kandoo booths that were giving things away so I signed the little guy up for all of them. I also got a bag full of freebies which was alot of fun and like an extra treat for Lil Man. After we all sat down they had their RD Frequency singers/dancers do their th

Step Two: Embrace Caffiene and Buy A Badass Buffer
2006-08-25 22:11:00
Okay I think I'm up for some kind of big fat loser award with this kicking the can thing. It's just not working for me. I went through a 2 liter Saturday because I was stressed out and a 2 liter Sunday for the same reason. My reward for this? Gagging on stomach acid thanks to having GERD. The reflux is a royal bitch right now! I did drink over a liter of water each day though so does that even things out any? :D Can't blame a gal for trying can you?Today's look into our lives is called "Buff Buff Shiny Shiny & Check Out The Mohawk" (available in stores this fall!). The plot includes me and Big B having a day out together Sunday. We spent some time at the mall mostly just looking around and enjoying hanging out. It was fun getting to hang out with my oldest and look at things I never can with Lil Man in tow. My son even stood there while I looked at women's clothing and jewelry. He never would have done that while he was in public school. It was awesome!I bought some long necklaces

Step One: Remove Lips From Can
2006-08-23 22:21:00
No I don't mean THAT can but the soda can! I have been a lifelong soda addict (and when I say lifelong I mean mama put milk and Pepsi in my bottle as a baby kind of lifelong) and seriously get migraines when I do without it for over 24 hours.Lately though I've been trying to kick the habit by drinking more water and taking a caffiene pill once a day to ward off the headaches. It works really well in the fact that I'm drinking a liter or more a day of water but it doesn't work well when I get stressed out (which is every five minutes) and start jonesing for a soda like a smoker does for a cig. When that happens you can usually find me across the street at the lil grocery store buying a 2 liter that I will have completely torn through by the time dinner arrives. Sad? Yes. Pathetic? Yes? Good for my ulcer? Not even remotely. So today I ran across this "campaign" Kick The Can and I am hereby pledging that I will also try to kick the habit of drinking soda. My evil nemesis comes in the fo

Today my very first article in my very own column went up at The Whole Mom. I am so excited to be writing quarterly for them and you will notice that I have finally figured out a way to work "Cancer, Kids, and Crayons" into something (the name of my column). lol I told you I'd find a place for it!I want to thank the ladies at The Whole Mom for giving me a chance to write for them. I pitched them an idea, they liked it, and hopefully I will be able to make them proud of me. ;) I also hope that through my column I will be able to give other mothers living with cancer hope that we are just like everyone else in the fact that we try to be the best moms we can be and love our children immensely. So be sure to not only check out my column but EVERYTHING else on the site as well. Lots of great columns, essays, comics, poetry, and so much more. The Power Of Comments
2006-08-17 07:39:00
I've received some very humbling comments in the last few days on both this blog and our MEN2a blog. Usually comments are just short witty phrases to let you know a person was there. I've always thought comments were alot of fun and can't imagine my blogs without them. The ones I've had here lately though have honestly set me back on my heels, which is a good thing don't worry. :) People have commented that reading about me and my family has made them want to be more positive and given them hope. That's such a powerful thing to say and I never expected to have it aimed at me. As I said, it's very humbling and appreciated more than those of you who comment could know. You see, here at home my husband says I bitch, nag, and complain too much (even if I'm just talking about my day it's considered bitching). My kids look at me often in disappointment because I can't take them somewhere they wanted to go. Some days I sit here and do nothing but cry because I feel so worthless and li

No Really...It's An Update Post
2006-08-12 00:10:00
To everyone who checks this blog frequently- I apologize for not posting anything worthwhile lately. I've had a severe case of writer's block that just would not let go. I even had trouble writing letters to friends and all I had to do was basically answer their questions! lol. So I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things and let you know how life with the heathens is going. For a new twist I'm also going to talk about myself once in awhile too. *insert applause and whistling here*I have finally realized that I definately have too many blogs which I think is part of why I can never write here anymore. I have a homeschool blog for our "school" stuff, a medical type blog for our MEN2a and cancer stuff, and then this one. Having so many blogs has made it hard to blog here because I'm not left with a whole lot to talk about after I post to the others.A huge part of our lives are homeschooling, MEN2a, and cancer. In fact, all three play a part in every single day of our liv

Today’s sponsored post is for my readers and friends who live “across the pond”. I happen to love all of you so much that I’m even going to tell all you UK’ers how to get your broadband internet easier and hopefully with less hassle. Why do I care about how you get online? Well because if you find a cheap broadband provider then not only can you pull up my blog quicker but you can also post to your own faster so I have more to read too. See, it's all about YOU baybee!Broadband Suppliers UK has set up a very useful website that not only explains what broadband is but also does it in simple terms so average blokes (also known as us non-techie people right?) can understand. Why, they’re so lovely they even do all the work of finding the best deals for you! Instead of having to go to 10 different sites to compare prices and find a service you can afford, they locate them for you and then list them starting with the most popular!I especially liked the fact that their website do

Sponsored Post- Trendy Puppy
2007-04-13 04:47:00
Trendy Puppy is a company that truly caters to pampered pooches of all breeds and sizes. Unlike pet "superstores" there are no cheap plastic and nylon collars with glued on "rhinestones" here. They vow that you will get nice quality and price with them and they make the experience even better by having a site that is easy to navigate. All their wonderful goodies are in nice simply labeled categories (like "Dog Collars" for instance) so you can find what you want easily and quickly.I have to say that I had lot of fun browsing the Trendy Puppy website in preparation for this post. As my daughter and I looked at all the cute little doggie clothing and accessories, we laughed, giggled, and said "awwwww" until our cheeks hurt! Sis decided that her favorites were the Boa collar and the Gold Leopard Ballerina Dress while mine were the "Bitch" collar (of course), the "Bite Me" Racing Jacket, and the Attitude Dress. Maybe it's a good thing I don't have a dog because the poor thing would be a

I'm a little lost on the selfish part but obviously to someone in France, it is how you find my blog when you go searching. *wiping the tears from laughing so hard*If I didn't know any better I would think my mother was internet stalking me again.
