I'd Like To Thank My Loyal Fans...
2007-07-05 15:33:00
*snort* I'm starting to think I enjoy coming up with titles more than the posts themselves. lolAnywho- I was going to post my last six thinking blogger awards today but when I opened my email I saw that I had received two more awards so I want to take this post to acknowledge and thank Christy from Christy's Coffee Break & Writer's Review and Janice from Twist & Skewer.Christy awarded me her very new "Courageous Blogger" Award. See.... Janice awarded me the "Blogging Community Involvement" Award or affectionately known as the "Schmoozer's Award". lolSo I guess that makes me a rocking, thinking, schmoozing, courageous friend right? :) I just want everyone to know that I appreciate all these blog awards. It's nice to know that people read and think so highly of me. I enjoy getting know each and every one of you more than you know. This means that after I post the thinking blogger awards I get to start thinking about who to give these out to as well. LMAO. I'm not complaining th

More Than A Scar
2007-07-04 22:12:00
In June 2005 I had a surgery for cancer that left me with a large U-shaped scar on my neck. Since then I have had the misfortune of being initiated into the world of rude staring. You see, people seem to think it's OK to stare, avoid eye contact, and then dash away. It's not really the staring that gets me but the refusal afterwards to look me in the eye. I know you were staring so why not look at me and acknowledge me too?On behalf of all of us with scars, here are some tips the next time you're tempted to stare at someone and then look away:1. We know our scars are obvious. We realize that you're going to see them and be a little shocked. We're fine with that. Look us in the eye, smile, and acknowledge us.2. Having these scars means that we've either been through something traumatic or had a surgery that saved our lives. We already feel self-conscious enough so please look at us and if you'd like to know why we have these scars just ask. Usually we're happy to answer you and

Damn Fergie!!! Now her crappy song is stuck in my head! *le sigh*A little while back Doc awarded me a Thinking Blogger award. Okay, so she awarded everyone on her blogroll an award but by jove it still counts! Today I will give out those six awards and then in another day or two I'll give out the rest with a special Friendship Rose going out to one very special person.Keep an eye out for a few of my old DotMoms posts on this blog very soon. Those of you who are new readers can have a chance to read something other than my usual dirty-mouthed crapola! lol. I chose my favorite posts so I hope you will like them too. Here's how the Thinking Blog Awards work - These are Ilker's Rules:1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think. (I'm breaking this rule and giving out 6 because there are many who make me think)2. The Glamorous...
2007-07-03 01:17:00
First I want to say thank you to everyone for the well wishes on my newest health issues. I promise that I won't keep you hanging and will let you know what's going on very soon.Second, I want to ask that you take a few moments to send your thoughts (and prayers if you pray) to NYCWatchDog. He lost his little boy last week in an accident at the swimming pool. I can only imagine the pain he has been in and I admire his strength. I don't know if I could be as strong and hope to never find out. Another blogger collected donations for the Puppy Monster Memorial Fund (his son's nickname) and as of this weekend they raised over $3000!!! Isn't that amazing?!Yet still people like my husband say the internet is stupid and nobody cares. I'm very glad to see him proven wrong.Okay, I wanted to make sure that I gave out at least a few awards tonight. I had planned on giving them all out but the pain is being a royal bitch so I'll have to keep it to a few. I know, I've been hoarding them for

Real-world Wonder Women
2007-07-07 20:26:00
Do you know that television’s Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, left acting for several years to stay home and raise her two children? I mention this because to me, when Ms. Carter stopped “playing” Wonder Woman on TV she then took on the role of a lifetime: Motherhood. That is when she became a real life Wonder Woman. We moms may not have bulletproof wrist cuffs (can you imagine doing dishes in those?), a magic lasso (though it would come in handy for wild children), or an Invisible Jet (how many carseats could fit in that thing anyway?) but who needs fancy accessories? We moms come specially equipped with many extraordinary superpowers like:Magic Kisses- Our magic mommy kisses can heal booboos, vanquish bad dreams, stop tears, and charm grumpy husbands. Soft Arms- These amazing arms provide safety from closet monsters, lovingly snuggle many children at once, and one hug can make all sadness in a child’s world just melt away.Super Senses- Every mommy comes standard with this awesome

Drug Rehab
2007-07-07 16:27:00
If you or someone you know are currently battling drug addiction and would really like to clean up your life, then Stone Hawk may be the treatment center for you. Stone Hawk is a drug rehab program run by former addicts and who better to prove you can beat drug addiction and have a better life than people who have been down the same path you’re on now?Stone Hawk’s website states that they are “the most successful drug treatment program in the country, with a history of an astounding 76%+ success rate”. I honestly never knew just how hard it could be for drug addicts to get clean but numbers like that make me a little more understanding and tolerant. Obviously if getting clean was easy then success rates would be much higher so I will say I am impressed by Stone Hawk’s record. I’m also thankful that places like this exist because no one deserves to suffer alone.*This has been a Sponsored Post*

Thanks*Okay so I've exhausted all the cutesie ass titles when giving awards. Sorry, suck it up, you're still getting an award ya weiners! *wink*Anywho- here are the last 6 Thinking Blogger awards I have to give out. Remember, I'm just trying to give them to people that I don't think have received one yet. Otherwise I'd be giving out about 30 of these damn things! :) Again with the rules...Here's how the Thinking Blog Awards work - These are Ilker's Rules:1. 2007-07-13 04:33:00
Just a quick post today but hopefully the fun stuff I'm including will make it up to you. :) I'm afraid the pain from my "new" health problem has only increased so moving kills me much less sitting in a hard chair and typing. :( That is honestly part of the reason I reposted my articles from DotMoms. I knew I couldn't handle coming up with new posts, I really did want to share the articles with you because they are my favorites, and I didn't want you waiting around on me. This is my blog but I do think highly of my readers and value the fact that you keep coming back.I really enjoyed sharing my posts from DotMoms with all of you and while I did write a few more I'm afraid that is all I have for you here on this blog. The rest are about homeschooling and me getting a sunburn so really not right for this blog or too outdated. So, I will do a good post soon but until then please check out my EduLinks posts over at Sona Creidhe Reviews which have links to lots of great sites for you an

Making The List
2007-07-11 15:57:00
I’ve recently admitted to myself that I am one of those compulsive list making people. This is not to be confused with the compulsive list making and completing people. They can actually finish their lists and have something to show off to all their friends. People like me however make the lists but rarely complete them. Hell, half the time we can rarely find them!I know what you’re thinking, why make lists at all then? Well because if I don’t, you will most likely see my children on a talk show in twenty years being asked “How has your mother forgetting to pick you up from activities ruined your life?” Lists are necessary for the times my memory decides to take the day off.Over the years though I have learned a few things about list making that have helped me immensely. Here are just a few of them:-Keep your lists short and simple. The longer the list the less likely you will be to finish it.-If you look at your list in the morning and instantly feel exhausted, it’s too lo

I came back online this morning to find out that yesterday I won a The Rising Blogger Post of the Day award. What I love about this award is that it is rewarded for posts and they chose my "More Than A Scar" post which is one that is very near and dear to my heart. Isn't it pretty? Thank you Judd and The Rising Blogger, I am truly honored and will display the award proudly in my sidebar. Now, I get to nominate another blogger's post so I'm off to read all of you lovelies! :) This is going to be hard.

I've Been Theme-king
2007-07-17 03:56:00
So now that I'm decently medicated I can get back to posting and while sitting around reading a book on Cleopatra yesterday I did some thinking as well. Yes, that is smoke you smell and yes it is coming from my frying brain. I'm blonde, get over it! lol.Anywho- I'm trying to add a little structure to my blogs so I've decided to have basic "theme" days on each of them. No that doesn't mean that every post will be artfully contructed and be about the same exact subject every week. It just means if I have ideas in my head and an "outline" to go by then I can put out more really good posts and you guys won't mutiny and abandon me. I watched Pirates of the Caribbean, I know how it goes! For now I'll just tell you about one or two days...*this part edited, thanks to Erica for the info*Monday- Mad Click Mondays. This idea is very simple and more for my readers than myself. Every Monday I plan on holding myself accountable for visiting at least 20 of my readers' blogs and if they have

Thank You and Info For The Gals
2007-07-16 19:57:00
Thank you to everyone who commented and emailed with well wishes. I was finally able to get new painkillers to dull the pain. Currently I am working with a company that makes elephant tranquilizers and they should be getting back to me with shipment costs VERY soon. ;) Just kidding but that is how I am feeling. Like it is going to take an elephant tranquilizer to ever give me a pain free day again. This dull ache though I can deal with so I will not complain and will be thankful to finally have something. I have an ultrasound scheduled on Friday for my gallbladder and pancreas as well as bloodwork on my liver enzymes. This should be a fun ride. Weeeeeee. Can't you tell how flipping happy I am?? Yeah, that was sarcasm. Ya'll are learning aren't you? *snort*Anyway- A few emails I've received recently have asked me if I could help spread the word on a few things of which I am more than happy to do. Stay outta his kitchen!!!Meet my next husband, Gordon Ramsey! I know I know, why in the hell would I want a foul mouthed mean bastard like him? I don't rightly fucking know to be honest. *snort* If you have no clue who he is or why I said what I just did then make sure you click on his name and watch one of the videos on the Fox website and you'll get it. *wink* In case you ever wondered what my REAL husband is like just take away everything of Gordon's except the bluntness and foul-mouth and you've got my Polish Italian to the point Hubby. lol. Damn, if only Vin had Ramsey's cockney accent. Even swearing sounds sexy when it he does it! hehe He almost gives Sean Connery a run for his money (voice wise). Almost.Anywho- just a fluff post. I will try to post tomorrow if they let me come home after my ultrasound. If you don't hear from me for a few days then it means they put me in the slammer aka hospital and are trying to take some more of my organs! ;) Most likely though I will b

Something To Keep You Busy
2007-07-20 00:09:00
While I'm hopefully finding out what is wrong with me tomorrow, check out this new entertainment site Celebrity Gossip. I had a few minutes to look it over earlier and there is plenty of celebrity rumors, gossip, pictures, and you can tell the makers of this site are really trying hard. It looks like it has alot of potential and I'm interested to see how they do against the likes of Pink Is The New Blog and PopSuger. Anyone who has lots of Angelina Jolie pics is okay by me. Yes, my secret is out. I'm an info junkie even when it comes to celeb gossip. Tell anyone and I'll post those pics of you in the thong from Easter! ;) As long as they don't go nutso over Paris Hilton like alot of the other celebrity sites do then I will definately become a regular reader. So go check out Celebrity Gossip and give them a little encouragement. It's hard being the new kid on the block.*This has been a Sponsored Post but yes, I really am a Brangelina junkie*

Today’s sponsored post is for my readers and friends who live “across the pond”. I happen to love all of you so I’m going to tell all you how to get your broadband internet easier and hopefully with less hassle. Broadband Suppliers UK has set up a very useful website that not only explains what broadband is but also does it in simple terms so average blokes (also known as us non-techie people right?) can understand. Why, they’re so lovely they even do all the work of finding the best deals for you! Instead of having to go to 10 different sites to compare broadband prices and find a service you can afford, they locate them for you and then list them starting with the most popular!Heck, they even have ADSL Broadband, Wireless Broadband, a Supplier of The Month, and articles you can read to make the decision that’s best for you! Some of the companies offer free stuff like- calls in the UK, WIFI minutes, wireless routers, modems, downloads… and alot more. If you’re anything

I don't know about the rest of you but I am one tired puppy already and it is only Wednesday!! Monday just flew by because not only was I doing the Mad Click Monday on this blog but I also started giveaways on my Onorach and Sona Creidhe Reviews blogs. I tell you, my stats went from about 10 visits a day per blog to around 200 per day! It's unreal and I've already got almost 200 people total entered to win one of the eight prizes I'm offering. Wow!By the way, if you haven't entered yet then I suggest you get your hiney over and do it now! No excuses! David, make sure you let Terri know so she can join too. ;) You have until Friday morning and then I will personally come to your blog and chastise you. The Blog Cafe and EMealsForYou have even donated some prizes to give my readers. Isn't that cool?!Anywho- I called my doctor's office this morning only to find out that they haven't received my blood test or ultrasound results yet so I am still sitting in limbo here. Mad Click Monday 07/23/07
2007-07-23 15:35:00
Hello everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I didn't end up in the hospital (yet) and won't know my results until at least Wednesday. When I find out you'll find out. :) Thank you to all of you who commented and emailed. Knowing I have made such great friends and found such wonderful readers is what really makes blogging worthwhile. It is a reward I never expected and am very thankful for.Okay now let's start the first of what I hope will be many Mad Click Monday s. As I said in a previous post, every Monday I plan on holding myself accountable for visiting at least 20 of my readers' blogs and if they have text ads, google-ads, feedburner ads, or ads of any kind up that are advertising something I find interesting then I am going to click them. I do this for two reasons- The first is of course to help out my fellow bloggers and the second is to actually take the time to learn more about the ads I find interesting. So if you would like to join me in this then leave a comment

Is It The Weekend Yet?
2007-07-26 21:35:00
I finally received the results of my ultrasound from the doctor's office yesterday and supposedly it showed nothing. That's right, a big fat NOTHING. Meanwhile, the pain has gotten even worse, the painkillers aren't touching it, I'm constantly nauseous, and I'm running a low grade fever nonstop. :( Bright and early tomorrow morning I have an appointment with my doctor and then I guess we go from there. I think at this point I'm going to ask to be referred to a gastroenterologist and see if they can figure out what's going on. Everything I've read thus far is telling me that there are a ton of tests I should have done BEFORE a colonoscopy so I'm not willing to just rush in and have them shove that camera up my ass just yet you know? All I do know is that I'm a wreck and would probably welcome 10 fibro flare ups if it meant this other bullshit stopped. It just gets real old is all. I'm sick of being sick! Time for some of this health crap to get taken care of so I can actually

It's only a little past noon here and already I've had a full day. Unfortunately, I still have a house to try to get the heathens to help me clean so there is no rest for the wicked around here. My day so far has been about cabbage rolls, my mother in law, games, exhaustion, and a little bit of fun as well. Here's the rundown thus far...The cabbage rolls are what the Hubby Guy is fixing for dinner (yep, Polish Italian) and while it may sound really nasty to some people, they are surprisingly very good! I don't think I would eat them if anyone else made them but Hubby's are good and even my youngest likes them if that tells you anything. The Mother In Law is coming to dinner tonight. She has recently moved within an hour of us so it's much easier now to invite her over to dinner once in awhile. This might shock you but I actually like my MIL and enjoy her company. We don't agree on many things (like homeschooling) but she is respectful to me and it's never an issue. We also like

Advice On Low Self- Esteem

aka Jo is being a lazy ass today. :) I'm way behind on things like giving awards and doing memes that people have tagged me for so I figured today I would do a meme or two and whatever else I feel like doing? Why? Because I don't feel like using my brain today! I'm pukey and grumpy so fuck brilliant posting! LMAO. Okay here ya go...Tuesday Twosome is one of those simple yet interesting memes you come across every once in awhile that actually tells others about you. Is it stuff you care to know about me? I don't know but this is MY blog dammit so you're stuck with it! HA!You can find Tuesday Twosome hosted every week on their site so if you ever feel like giving it a go they are easy to find. Here is this week's "twos" and the theme is 'Had to get away...'Two places you go to for relaxation (spa, beach, etc.): Does hiding in the closet count? No? Damn. 2007-08-06 16:21:00
I'm sure many won't agree with me but I am definately glad that it is Monday ! The weekend went well but this week is such a busy one that I'd rather get it started and get it over with. I'm sorry this is late but I had to take the oldest in for a physical so he can try out for the local high school football team next week. Yes, we homeschool but a new law was passed here in New Mexico that allows homeschoolers to play one public school sport per year. Since football is the one thing I can't help Big B out with in the homeschool community, this is our best bet. Honestly, I have no doubt he will make the team and his prior public school experience will make the whole thing very easy for him. Besides, he's the male version of his mother so if anyone gives him shit he'll just tell them off! HA!Wednesday I find out my latest blood test results and then it's on to either a urologist or a GI doctor because my instincts know something is very wrong and it needs to be found soon. I'm n

One of the places I have always wanted to visit is the always beautiful and very interesting country of Australia. To have a chance to see the countryside, the outback, and their beaches sounds like a "fantabulous" vacation to me!Now where would I go and why? Well I’d obviously want to visit the Sidney Opera House but I think Melbourne itself would be a great place to actually stay. Since Melbourne is Australia’s second largest city then that means I won’t have to worry about having plenty to see and do. They have shopping, galleries, theatres, riverside walks, walking trails, the popular Golden Circle Tram, and many beautiful historic hotels to see.Of course, being from the U.S. one of the problems I’d face would be finding a hotel in Melbourne to stay at that is affordable and comfortable. Enter CheaperThanHotels.Com who, as part of the world’s largest tourism and travel group, are able to help you get the lowest rates possible for your accommodations while in Melbourne. No

Proud Mommy Moment
2007-08-10 18:56:00
My oldest son, Big B, started a music related MySpace profile a few months ago at my urging to "do something that interests you". He worked hard on it, contacted bands, and even did his own weekly Top 40 Songs list. It was nice seeing him actually put some time and effort into something.Last month he started an actual blog where he could post his music list, have an artist of the week, add song samples, display new bands, and hopefully do some interviews with various signed and unsigned musicians. When he was ready to start contacting different bands about the interviews I helped him word the email and we sent it off to one of his favorite new singers. As the days passed it was sad to see his disappointment in not hearing back from them but that all ended this morning when in his inbox sat an email from the agent telling him to send the questions and they would be given to the artist. :)My boy is officially a music reporter and interviewer! Heck, I've never even had an email interview

Before I run off to bed I just wanted to tell you guys to head over to our homeschooling blog- Sona Creidhe Homeschooling- and tell me what you think of my very first book review for Mother Talk. I'm very excited to be a part of Mother Talk and this is probably one of my new favorite things I enjoy about blogging. I love to read, I horde books like I own a library, and now I get to right reviews on books. It gets no better I tell you.I didn't make it to my doctor's appointment yesterday because I've recently been hit by a horrid case of nausea at different times of the day (definately not morning sickness..no chance at all) and yesterday it was joined by such awful vertigo-like dizziness that my eyes were actually crossing! I had to laugh because you know that shit has got to look funny! My oldest darling son helped me to the couch though and then sat to talk with me for two hours while I couldn't move. My kids are so great and so easy to love. *sigh*Thanks to this nausea/dizzy cr

I hope today is the start of a good week for everyone. So far I can't complain about it myself. I won another giveaway this weekend which is probably THE most appropriate one I've won yet. Why? Well because it has to do with Blonde Moments. ;) To be honest with you, I am in shock right now because I have never won anything my whole life and here recently I have won books, a glamour contest, a gift certificate from Blingo, and now this one. Do you think maybe my luck is changing? Boy I hope so!Today is also the day Big B tries out for the local high school football team so please keep him in your thoughts at around 3pm MST.Let's start our Mad Click Monday shall we? Last week we had ten people join in which was really great! Do you think we can do even better this week? I say we give it a try! This week will be the last week I'm putting the rules in each. I think that is one of my favorite Jurassic Park quotes. Well that and "God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs... Dinosaurs eat man. Woman inherits the earth...". Priceless!! lol. Recently my family and I were given the opportunity to play with and give our opinion on the new Jurassic Park Explorer DVD game from Brighter Minds Media, LLC and I can honestly say it was one of the funnest games we've played in a very long time! This game is coming out mid-August (any day now) and is a dinosaur and Jurassic Park lover's dream come true! Jurassic Park Exploror DVD game is designed for players aged 6 and up with a choice of up to four teams or individuals playing it. Each player or team can choose from three levels of difficulty, in what sequence they want to take their turns, and as a whole you can choose to play a long or short game. The idea of the game is that you are on the island of Isla Sorna where the Jurassic theme par
