Review For DesignerGifts.Com 2007-05-25 22:35:00 DesignerGifts.com recently asked me to do a review of their site, products, and features. I love reviews like this because it gives me chance to go through a sponsor’s site and really learn about it. I will start with what I didn’t like about them. That way I can finish this review with everything that is great about these guys. Always save the best for last right? Didn’t Like:The first thing I noticed was that the page content sits way over on the leftside of the screen. Usually a website is centered which also centers your attention thus keeping you interested in what they are offering. DesignerGifts’ site shows too much blank space on the rightside that draws your attention before anything else. They should center the site to better hold shoppers’ attention.Secondly, in the sidebar under “Customer Service” there is a block of Google Adsense ads which makes the site look somewhat cheap and tacky. I would expect to see that on blog or work at home website (because it’s

4 Things I Would Like To Know… 2007-05-29 13:43:00 and preferably before I die would be nice.1- Who the hell taught Miss Fergie Ferg, Duchess, Kids Inc Little Stacy, whoever to talk? What in the hell is "flowsie"? My kids tell me that she’s saying "FLOSSY". Can’t she just say "flossy"? Why am I always the last one to learn about new hoochie speak? And why does she have to spell everything out? I’m grateful to her for teaching my daughter to spell "glamorous" but was "fergalicious" really necessary? HOW is Sis going to work "fergalicious" into a college essay? Hmmm?2- How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a TootsiePop? Seriously! Remember that owl and dumb kid commercial they came out with way back when? The stupid thing would get stuck in your head for weeks but since "Mr. Owl" totally cheated you still never knew! I tried finding out on my own but I'll be damned if I didn't bite into it the minute I caught a taste of the tootsie roll. If you know, share the knowledge. Also, did anyone ever really get
It Ain't Braggin'! 2007-05-31 21:12:00 *Sorry about the feed going nutso. I'm moving some posts around and adding disclosure buttons to others so please just ignore any "new" posts except this one until tomorrow. Thanks*It's called "sharing". You know how excited I was about having 1300 visitors in April? Well May was an even better month! As of 5:19pm MST this evening someone from Eugene, Oregon was the TWO THOUSANDTH visitor this month!!! I know to some of the more popular bloggers that isn't alot but it's more than I ever thought I would have coming here and I'm very proud of that number. :) Visitor 2,000 came here by way of The Mom Blogs so thank you to TMB for the traffic.I have to put up a sponsored post tonight (deadline is tonight) but then unless some bids come through I plan on just doing plain ole blogging for about a week. The extra money from paid posts is a huge help with the doctor and prescription co-pays but at the same time I want this blog to stay what its suppose to be and that is just a place for m
Sponsored Review- MyFitnessPal 2007-05-30 21:49:00 With summertime already here, many of us are still scrambling to find weight loss help in time to wear a bathing suit at least once to the beach or local pool. We’ve found that crash diets don’t work very well and neither do most of the popular diets you see advertised on TV. What does work is an exercise and calorie counting plan that's tailored to fit your specific weight loss needs. For that you should use MyFitnessPal.MyFitnessPal is a new free calorie counter and exercise tracking website. This isn’t one of those sites that give you a 30-day free trial and then charges you to use it either. MyFitnessPal is 100% free for as long as you decide to use it. They will never ask you for a credit card so you can actually enjoy using their service without the worry of how much it is costing you.Once you register with them then it's time to let the fun and losing begin! You can get started on your own personal (and free) calorie, diet, and exercise journals. Find out how many calori
Pay Per Post Lurve 2007-06-04 23:44:00 I always try to be honest when I do a sponsored post and in this case that will be very easy. PayPerPost wants “postie” love and I have no problem giving it to them. PPP gives bloggers the opportunity to earn money through writing which is something we already love to do. It’s a very easy way of making a few extra dollars from home and considering the present rise in gas prices, that is Read more:Pay Per Post
Why I Love Blogging 2007-06-03 15:03:00 Eliza over at I'm A Home Mom tagged me for this meme awhile ago and unfortunately it took me this long to get to it. The rules are simple, give five reasons why you love blogging and tag five other bloggers. No tag backs either but be sure to let them know who tagged you.
My Answers: Why I Love Blogging
1. When I first started blogging it was strictly to record what was going on medically with me
Ouch 2007-06-02 13:36:00 How is everyone’s weekend going so far? I’m in the midst of a fibro flare up so I’m bitchy, achy, tired, and did I mention bitchy? lol Monkeyboy knows just the right things to say though. This is the conversation we had earlier…
Monkeyboy- "Mommy, you are very important to me".
Mom- "I am? Why am I important to you"?
Monkeyboy- "Because I love you very very much and you are the best mommy ever"
Talk About "Cheesy"! 2007-06-07 13:00:00 Most times the news is pretty depressing but every once in awhile you come across something that is just too good not to share with the rest of the blogosphere. Just watch this video and you'll see what I mean.
Yes, they said CHEESE. These people are flinging themselves down a hill to win a cheese wheel or small cash prize. Did you notice that they have a Men’s and Women’s competition? Read more:Cheesy
NEVER Click On "Next Blog"!! 2007-06-05 15:12:00 Do you know what clicking that little “Next Blog” button on the NavBar does? It takes you to some pretty weird shit that’s what!! I’m one of those people who have to be doing several things at once in order to think so while I was trying to think of something to post I decided to give the “Next Blog” feature a try. I figured maybe I would find something funny to talk about or a cute cartoon to Read more:Click
Things heard in my house today... 2007-06-10 20:14:00 "Can I sniff your hair"?- Sis has this thing with smelling my hair after I shower. Creepy ass kid!
"Mommy, my winkie likes me".- Said by MonkeyBoy. Yes, I was stupid enough to ask how he knew.
"Mom, can we make smoothies? Umm Mom, you're not suppose to put booze in smoothies. Mom, even wine makes you sick you're not suppose to...."- Yeah well Mommy's had a hard week and Daddy's ass chickened
For You "Anti-Paid Post" Bitchers 2007-06-09 02:08:00 People who are bitching about bloggers doing paid posts are really starting to piss me off!! The "Oh I don't do paid posts nope never will and refuse to read blogs that do" posts just plain suck! You know, it's really nice if you don't need extra money or if you are able to work a full time job out of the home or if you are one of the "elite" and get paid to blog by other means but that's not an

Amazing Mommas 2007-06-14 01:21:00 I have like four stinking memes to do at this point and promise to have them up within the next day or two but tonight as I was blogsurfing I came across posts by these two amazing women and I knew that I had to share them with you. Even a rude obnoxious bitch like me goes all mushy when she reads about amazing mothers like this....Neat Feet by Redneck Mommy- RM, I have always enjoyed your blog and now I appreciate it even more knowing what a strong fantastic woman you are. You made me cry dammit! The blog Sweet Salty by Kate will make your heart literally ache. She recently gave birth to twin boys who were born early and with many difficulties. Their fight and her's will break your heart but the amazing things her two little peanuts are doing combined with the videos she has posted will truly make you hope and smile through your tears.Yeah yeah, lots of mush here but once I came upon these two posts I couldn't get them out of my head. Where MY Line Is Drawn RE:Paid Posts 2007-06-11 20:34:00 Having already posted about why I do paid posts I wanted to also write about where I personally draw the line when it comes to posts or advertising on my site. Thankfully, LoudLaunch was "nice" enough to help me with an example.LoudLaunch.com is another paid post site that in my opinion paid decently in the past. I've enjoyed the few times there has actually been something I can post about (like the Russian Artist). Having something to post about has been a big problem here lately though. Yes, they have some campaigns available but those campaigns are for breast augmentation, plastic surgery, liposuction, and such in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. Oh and one post having to do with credit cards which I personally choose not to have any of.Out of fourteen campaigns they have listed (for me at least) seven of them are actually open. The other seven have been closed for weeks but still sit there wasting space for some reason. Of those seven that you can write for only ONE is not plastic s
8 Random Facts MeMe 2007-06-17 01:53:00 Let this be a lesson to anyone else who puts off doing a meme once they've been tagged! I have now been tagged five times for this one meme! LOL. It means ya'll lurve me though so I'm not complainin' a bit. The only thing I dislike about memes is having to think. *snort* So here you go Eliza, Angie, Theresa (who tagged me on my homeschool blog), Sarah, and Summer. One meme down and only two more to go. OY!Here we go...The rules to play: Players start with 8 random facts about themselves. Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts. Players should tag 8 other people and notify them they have been tagged.1- I want to go on a diet but I’m having a hard time because I don’t know what diet a person who has no adrenal glands, no thyroid, fibromyalgia, nerve damage, and evilly low blood pressure should be on. 2- I am deathly afraid of riding on roads that are on the sides of mountains and if there is no guardrail it’s horrible. Follow Up On HPV Information 2007-06-16 22:15:00 In my "Can Ya Stand One More Post?" I mentioned a commenter and asked if she could help us out with information. She has come through wonderfully on that and before I post the meme that is longggggg overdue, here is the link to some really great posts she's done as well as information from experts on HPV.I ask that if you visit her site and read please be respectful if you comment or email her. She was kind enough to share with us and that should be appreciated not attacked. Also just because I am providing the link it also does not mean I completely agree with everything by everyone in her posts. It just means that I only think it fair to provide people with important information on both "sides" so they can make an educated and well thought out decision either way.The Artful Flower- HPVThank you very much for providing me with this link to share. Those who know me know that I like to hear and share BOTH sides of anything important and while I might not agree with someone be it a doct
My Very First Cease & Desist Email!!! 2007-06-16 15:04:00 This isn't even a good Cease & Desist email but it's mine, she thinks I've earned it, and dammit I'm going to show it off! Dontcha wish your blog had one? It's sad what people will do when they can't bow other people.I've removed her last name just to be nice. Since she posts it all over the internet and even on her own website I could post it but really, I am like le bored with this. Sending Cease & Desist letters for really no reason at all is when things become beyond childish. What is it with people who want to cram things down your throat getting mad when you refuse to chew?? Had I just backed down and shook my head like a good girl I could have avoided this. Thank goodness I didn't do something stupid like that!!!! As far as I was concerned we were done yesterday. Can Ya Stand One More Post? 2007-06-15 18:53:00 *Unfortunately the comment I speak of below was eaten by Blogger which I apologize for because it is suppose to be with the previous post. So that is why if you are trying to figure out who the commentor is, you're not able to find the comment. UGH.*Don't worry, I'm not going off on a rant again. lol. After I posted earlier and the anger settled down I was left feeling somewhat badly. Not for anything I said to Ms. *she wants me to take her name off my site because you know, it's not like you can find it on her's or anything* personally because to be completely blunt and honest I still think she's *not a very nice person*, people like her make me sick, and there is nothing for me to apologize for...to her.I do owe anyone with HPV or any form of cancer an apology though. It's my blog so I can say whatever the hell I want, true. I don't HAVE to apologize to anyone, that's the great thing about having a personal blog. Silly Me, Thyroid Cancer Is Nothing 2007-06-15 18:34:00 If you read my last post you will know that I'm not to fond of Ms. *edited so she'll shut up* (she also runs *edited so she'll shut up* in case anyone thinks I didn't know). We have different opinions on the HPV vaccine which I don't have a problem with. Belitting those of us who have decided it's not for our daughters is another thing. Even in the comments section on her blog she seems to think I'm stupid and do not realize that she's still telling us that there will come a day when we will have to come up with "pathetic lame excuses" to give our daughters about why they didn't get the vax. I may not be the most articulate writer when it comes to my blog but I am definately not stupid and very good at reading between the lines. To the point though. In the comments on her post she took it upon herself to basically inform me that thyroid cancer is pretty much no big deal. I mean, after all we have a 96% survival rate. ALL of us. Can you believe that? Why we're second only to pr Read more:Silly

Ever Seen A Ticked Off Amazon?? 2007-06-14 22:07:00 If not you will now! Sometimes blogsurfing can end up being a very BAD thing like when you come across some *edited so she won't cry* blog and they post something like this..."And why shouldn’t we vaccinate our daughters?"My comment pretty much states my thoughts. Now before anyone thinks this is another debate post about whether or not people should have their daughters get the HPV vaccine, please just know that it's not.I'm a pretty easy going person. YOU do what YOU think is best for YOUR family and I will do what I think is best for MINE. It really is that easy. I have no right telling you what to do with your children and I wouldn't presume to know what is best for them. It's just not me and I deserve the same respect in return. If you want to get the HPV vaccine for your daughter, *edited so she'll shut up*, then you go right ahead. Some More “Damn” Memes 2007-06-20 01:35:00 Really, it’s not just me being a potty mouth this time! It really has been called “Another Damn Meme” or also known as 5 Things! Oh Geez, Another One 2007-06-18 12:58:00 Can I seriously ask if I'm speaking English? Does this blog show up in English? I'm pretty sure I've answered everything and even been nice enough to not demean anyone else's decisions. Obviously she couldn't think of a good topic today or even just a post containing information on the vax so she decided to include me.I'm honored. Really. If you'd like me to sign your blog then feel free to leave a comment and I will grace you with my new celebrity self. *snort*There are Cancer Survivors against the HPV Vaccine, Go Figure!?No no, the sarcasm at the end of the title is all her's. Who Likes Saving Money? 2007-06-17 22:43:00 Okay, it's time to talk about something we can all agree is a good thing... saving money! Online shopping can be fun but if you're like me, the real fun comes during the hunt for online coupons or coupon codes that I can use to save money on my purchases. Sometimes I think hunting for the savings is even more fun than the actual buying itself! Okay almost because listening for the UPS guy’s truck is pretty fun too! When searching I usually Google “coupon codes” or sift through forums but thanks to CouponChief.com, I won’t have to do that anymore and that makes me very happy.CouponChief.com has online coupons, coupon codes, and free coupons for way too many stores to count! You can find coupons for places like Target, Best Buy, Overstock.com, Gap, Edmund Scientifics (have to remember my Geek and homeschooling readers) and a ton more!I like that their website is very user friendly. I don’t want to have to search forever for a code to something. If I can’t find it quickly the Read more:Saving

Nature Sounds Clock= Nervous Breakdown 2007-06-24 08:23:00 Recently my husband bought one of these things which I thought sounded like a cool idea at first. I figured we would listen to a nice thunderstorm as we drifted off to sleep or maybe some gentle wind chimes. WRONG ANSWER! What we got instead was the following...Frogs- These slimy little bastards do nothing but croak, burp, and splash around nonstop driving you completely fucking bonkers!! Who in the hell finds frogs croaking a comforting sound? I mean, sure if you had to grow up in the bayou or country where they never shut up then you have two choices- get use to them or go insane. After awhile I'm sure you don't even notice they are there but for the rest of us this is not a comforting nature sound! Personally it made me want to hunt down a bunch of their sorry asses and fry them up out of pure spite. This earned Hubby Guy a one-eyed sleepy glare.Ocean Waves With Seagulls- So you're listening to these relaxing ocean waves that are gently rocking you to sleep and just as you are a Read more:Sounds

Pay Per Post Direct 2007-06-22 23:51:00 When I started my “paid posts” venture a few months ago, the first place I signed up at was ReviewMe. I remember wincing when I saw that they were going to charge $60 for me to review someone’s website but I would only be getting $30 of that. That meant they would be keeping half of everything I earned! Now considering that I’m not high up on the blogging chain, who would actually pay $60 per review on my site? Earnings from ReviewMe to date? $0.00 not a single dime!Next I signed up with Sponsored Reviews. At first it looked great! I could set my own price, choose advertisers to review, submit my own offer, and…. 9 times out of 10 be turned down flat. Advertisers felt that if their offer range was $5-$25 then I was only worth $5 instead of the $10-$15 I asked for. The thing was, I wasn’t even asking that much to be cocky or semi-vain! If I took an offer for $5 and then Sponsored Reviews took their cut, I would make about $3.25 for the post. HUH? I could make more writing ab Read more:Direct

Goin' All Yoda On Pagerank! 2007-06-21 10:45:00 I'm afraid an actual post is out for today as I've spent the last two days sick and sore (partially my own fault) but I wanted to post this for you from blaugh. If you haven't checked out their site yet please do, it's definately good for a giggle or two. This is for everyone who is driven to raging posts, crying while looking at the PayPerPosts they can't do, and anyone else whom Pagerank drives absolutely flipping bonkers! Enjoy. Also, I apologize ahead of time to anyone who subscribes to my feeds. They may go haywire for a bit because I've got some sorting and adding to do. The next post will be a paid post that I had already written but hopefully tomorrow I will be here for your entertainment.Be warned.... Upcoming Attractions 2007-06-27 11:32:00 Most important thing first- As you can see I have a new "MEN2a Awareness" ribbon on the right hand corner of all my blogs. If you would like to help me spread the world about MEN2a and the cancers it causes then please send me an email and I'll be happy to send you the code for it. If you have no clue what I'm talking about then please read our MEN2a blog to find out more about my family. Also feel free to ask me any questions at any time. Most people are afraid to ask questions because they worry that it's rude but I enjoy sharing with others and encourage the questions. So what do you think of the new look? I'm very proud of myself because it has all been a game of trial and error for me. I by no means have any clue when it comes to CSS, XML, or HTML...totally blonde about all three. I do know the fantastic method of "Ohhh what happens when I do this?" and what you see is the end product. :) I actually am learning quite a bit though and highly recommend everyone learning a little Read more:Attractions

And The Awards Go To... 2007-06-25 03:54:00 ME!!!How was everyone's weekend? Mine was honestly too long and shitty. I spent the weekend with insomnia and sick which seems to be becoming the norm for me again. I have a feeling that bloodwork and testing are coming in my very near future. *eyeroll* I also woke up at 8:30am on Saturday morning and didn't sleep again until 11:30pm last night!! Twenty-seven hours without sleep will make you pretty loopy and I also found out that it will bring on one bitch of a fibro flare up!! Anyway- I have received a few "awards" lately and I thought I would share them with you as well as introduce you to the ladies who gave them to me. I always enjoy knowing that I'm making other people laugh and smile so to me every award is special. About a week ago, Christy over at Christy's Coffee Break awarded me with the "Thinking Blogger" award. She said that I have a great blog and a great spirit. Thank you for such nice words, Christy, and I am proud to display the award. I will try to give one to oth Read more:Awards
Stop The World I Wanna Get Off!!! 2007-06-30 00:14:00 I had planned on handing out awards and maybe even tossing in a joke or two in tonight's post but to be honest I'm more on the verge of tears than I am laughter right now.It seems that I have even more health problems to add to the list. Best case it's a bacterial overgrowth in my small intestine (that has stuck around for over a year now). Worst case... well cancer will most definately be the least of my problems. It's odd to hear someone say that isn't it? Lucky me, for the next three weeks I'm on a bland diet and it sucks knowing that proteins and the "good" fats make me sick as a dog (malabsorption issues). So much for eating chicken anymore. Dammit. They say one word about my Wild Cherry Pepsi though and I'm going to have to go Amazon on their asses!Nobody ever wants to be a drain on the one they love. I know I sure as hell didn't. This wasn't the life I had planned on. This sure as hell isn't the body I thought I would have and I hate being trapped in it. Most of all th Read more:World
