Seasons change
2008-09-14 17:10:00
It's getting dark earlier and earlier, the temperature drops more every night. I can almost see autumnal foliage on trees.I'm in love with nature these days.Love me as the summer goneWhen eyes were closed and days were long, so longI burned a torch for you but all the whileSomewhere in the haze you lost your smile(Blackfield's Summer)

Fly me to the moon. Fly me to a star

I wish I had something good to say about this song. But it's got me so hypnotized that my words would be in vain. Lou Reed & John Cale's Open HouseMy skin's as pale as outdoors moonMy hair's silver like a Tiffany watchI like lots of people around me but don't kiss helloAnd please don't touch[...]It's a Czechoslovakian custom my mother pased on to meGive people little presents so they remember meOp

Orange sky
2008-09-10 14:25:00
I can't remember ever seeing something similar in my entire life. I even forgot about that moment till recently, when I found the pictures. They were taken last year, on the 6th of July. I don't know what was I listening to at that moment, but now when I see them, there's only one song that comes to my mind: Alexi Murdoch's Orange Sky.

Undertow
2008-09-09 13:06:00
The Canadian band Stars released a brand new 6 tracks EP - Sad Robots - on the first of September.I really loved their last year album, and was glad to notice improvement from one material to the next one, but Sad Robots blew me away! One song more beautiful than the other. I have no idea what inspired them, but I sure hope they keep their muse tight and safe for their next album.I really can say t

I'll dream of september, don't wake me up
2008-09-04 15:17:00
Let it fall. One of my favourite autumn songs, Urma's September.Although autumn hasn't quite kicked in just yet, I'm getting myself ready for it. Why I like it so much? Because I can wear sweaters and scarves, the sky is a certain blue that I can't see during any other time of the year, and because all those colours out there. Plus, the parks are coated with leaves and I can make piles and jump in

Jaywalking thoughts
2008-08-31 09:58:00
I've never seen a sky so beautiful like the on in my hometown, just after sunsetSummer is pretty much over and it's probably the first time when I'm not nostalgic; nevertheless, I still listen to my 2-summer-is-over songs: A-Ha's Summer Moved Onand The Cure's The Last Day of SummerI've always hated Sundays. They're weird and static and way too silent. I feel like they're hiding something.I'd like

Fascinations
2008-08-30 10:37:00
I've always liked hands. It's one of the first things I observe in a person.I watch the shape and forms, the gestures they make, the nails and the fingers, the positions they take, the way they fit in with the rest of the body or how they match the person who owns them.Because of this passion I've discovered this beautiful song, with a video directed by the great guy that was Heath Ledger. I'm tal

Obsessions are made to be shared (2)
2008-08-24 16:25:00
Been listening the last 2 days to Arcade Fire's Wake Up on repeat. This song is as catchy as a flu.Somethin' filled up my heart with nothin',Someone told me not to cry.But now that I'm older, my heart's colder,And I can see that it's a lie.Children, wake up, hold your mistake upBefore they turn the summer into dust.If the children don't grow upOur bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up.We're

Jeff Buckley: Everybody Here Wants You (2002)

Directed by: Serena CrossAppearances: Brad Pitt, Jimmy Page, Patti Smith, Badly Drawn Boy, Elizabeth FraserApparently I'm not totally gone. I think balconies have some magic of their own. I got out from my room, because of the heat, and thought of watching something on the balcony, and just for kicks I tried to find some public wireless hub, and I actually found one :D So I'm connected. Therefore,

The dream that smells like winter's night
2008-08-14 07:12:00
One of my all time favourite bands, Klimt 1918, are gonna have a concert in my city in October (event here). Of course I'm very anxious to see them performing live, I'm making playlists in my head and hoping they'll sing certain songs.I'm pretty sure, though, I'm gonna love them no matter what they're gonna play :D especially cause I like all their songs (well, in different amounts, of course, but

Caught under the water
2008-08-13 03:47:00
Some songs get past being obsessions and begin to feel like ghosts. I stumbled upon this one about 4 days ago. I can listen to anything else, but I keep coming back to it. And listening to it over and over and over again. And I don't know if it's something in the song, or in Peter's voice, maybe a combination of both, but it sounds so serene and incredibly sad, without being depressing. So, I give

All flowers, in time, bend towards the sun
2008-08-10 11:34:00
I know for sure I've said it before, maybe not here, but I must emphasize again that certain voices are meant to sing together. To have duets. Their voices just melt together and when you finally hear that song, you begin to wonder how come you didn't know about it, or how come they didn't do it before.Today I discovered (actually somebody introduced me to) a brilliant collaboration, between Jeff

Massive Attack = God (Massive Attack live in Bucharest, August 2nd 2008)
2008-08-09 02:32:00
One week ago I attended what proved to be the best gig in my life so far.I saw Massive Attack live. After traveling by train 8 hours standing (all the seats were taken by people who were going at the seaside - lucky bastards - and I pretty much had no other satisfying alternative), laughing a lot, sleeping a little and seeing really nice people whom I missed a lot, I arrived at the location. It was

Invisible to everybody
2008-07-26 05:45:00
I'm pretty much away this days. Not in the actual sense, but I'm not hooked up to the internet so this explains my lack of activity. This internet break it's actually good. I do more or less important things, I read and watch Dawson's Creek, reminding myself how I was during my high school years. It's been raining on and off for several days now, so my activities are just perfect :)I'm gonna leave y

Wasting my time in the waiting line

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
2008-09-28 15:19:00
Justin Vernon secluded himself in his father's cabin in Wisconsin for 4 months, after his former band found it's end. That was the place where For Emma, Forever Ago, Bon Iver's debut album was born.Justin recorded the CD all by himself, with just some mics and some recording equipment. He then released it, and the album was so well received by the media and the critics that it was properly release

Klimt 1918 concert
2008-10-15 05:51:00
It finally happened. The Klimt 1918 concert in Cluj took place last Saturday (11th of October). Needless to say I've been waiting for this event for quite some time now (about 2 years ago I was daydreaming how good it would be to see the guys performing live). They are really nice and talkative people! Energetic and friendly, awesome on stage! I'm glad I had the chance to interact a little with the

It should be needless to point out at this moment that I find the artwork of an album very important for the band's image.Another major plus for me is a gig with a nice looking poster. I think I'd even attend a show performed by a band that I have no idea what sings if the poster would be good. All this in mind, I present you some of my favourite gig posters :)Arcade FireBeirutBjörkBroken Social S
