The UK Capital Gains Tax rate was reformed in the latest Budget. Chancellor Darling announced a new single rate of 18% for Capital Gains Tax (CGT). Prior to this, the tax rate was 40% during the first 3 years of the property ownership reducing 2% per year to a minimum of 24% after 10 years of ownership.
