Yo Dudesse! 2008-06-13 11:07:07 The phone rings, I answer it and what do I hear? “Yo Dude-ESS, whaz up?” That hubby of mine knows how to make me laugh, there’s no doubt about that. Crazy man!I am stranded and I have a funky smell in my nose that won’t go away. Yesterday, after another jump start (so much for that new battery!) we dropped the pickup off at Dodge. It obviously

Happy Fathers Day! 2008-06-15 13:52:59 A VERY happy Fathers
Day to all you men out there! Hopefully you’re being pampered and not fulfilling a “honey do” list today! Although my poor hubby is at the salt mines again. He did sleep in late, and I made bacon, eggs and toast out on the grill this morning for us.After Jim left for work, I knocked out the weed eating. 3 hours of that and my poor Read more:Happy
More pillows... 2008-06-16 11:21:30 Click for larger viewI finished the remaining two pillows for the window seat, in the striped fabric, and I made the piping and backs out of the black suede. Boy is it a booger to work with!
Now the candle and swag come down, and I’ll be hanging white sheers off of a black iron rod… just as soon as I get around to finding window rods. I’m probably going to be without
It's coming out of my ears! 2008-06-17 15:56:35 Click for larger viewFood that is. This is part of yesterday’s order that arrived, and I have more due in today. I keep saying I’m out of room, but I keep finding more nooks and crannies to store it in.

Whew! 2008-06-22 14:02:06 Click for larger viewI’m sewing myself silly. With Herman covering my back, I have so much more free time! Go Herman GO! I completed yesterday’s pillow this morning, and it’s now in the window seat, where I think it looks wonderful with the rest. That one gave me the design I need for the final two pillows for the sofa, not quite the same but very similar.
Efforts of the last 2 days 2008-06-21 16:18:43 Click for larger viewI have been working on this project yesterday and today, pretty much nonstop. It boggles my brain that such a small project can consume so many hours… first designing and creating, then stitching. This is my next pillow top. I screwed up on the four large outer flowers, and forgot to change thread colors, they weren’t intended to be all black like
Her "Man"! 2008-06-20 05:44:51 Yep, you got it, the little iRobot is so good I’ve name him Herman! Not only does he lick my downstairs floors clean, he comes upstairs and cleans the Berber carpet with no problem at all, since it’s nice and flat. You should see him make short work of my sewing room floor! I have a serious case of hero worship for the little guy, there’s nothing like coming hom
Just call me Jane... 2008-06-18 14:21:32 Jetson that is! Look what showed up on my doorstep today, an iRobot! I’m more excited over this little guy than I am the new Babylock (which arrived last night, more in a sec) because for years and years I have vacuumed my floors every freaking single day of my life, sometimes several times per day when the dogs are blowing coat, and I am so sick of doing it!Dog hair makes me ins
Bernina My Label Vista Patch 2008-07-06 06:50:53 The rain cleared up for a few hours yesterday morning, and Jim hooked up the auger to the tractor and dug the holes for the eleven cypress trees, and got them all planted. He ended up putting them alongside the road over on the side area where the shop will go. They’re supposed to be very fast growing trees and will offer us more privacy.
It was a great day to plant, as it rained for hour Read more:Label

Weekend 2008-07-05 08:33:40 Click for larger viewI think it’s pretty obvious I’m rather excited over the iMac. I just had to show you my desktop wallpaper… it screams my enthusiasm!
I’m even warming up to Safari (web browser) now, as part of what I didn’t like was the text, but I’ve changed it to a font I like, and a very cool feature is that you can set the text to never display smaller Read more:Weekend
Woohoo! and Happy 4th of July! 2008-07-04 04:40:04 I finished backing up my iMac yesterday, and proceeded with the installation of Vista as a virtual machine in Fusion. It wasn’t difficult, but I can’t say it was seamless either. The Toolset did not want to install, but I eventually got it.
I now have Bernina DP5, My Label, Pattern Master Boutique V4, Electric Quilt 6 and Microsoft Money running in a virtual mode, awesome! The only Read more:Happy
Day two on Leopard 2008-07-03 09:04:25 Lucy thank you so much for the iPhoto “tutorial”. I think I was able to figure it out with your Click for larger viewhelp! It’s on my list however, to call Adobe today and see if they’ll transfer my license on Photoshop over to the Mac platform.

A new switcher! 2008-07-02 11:35:55 Click for larger viewThat sounds positively kinky doesn’t it! But here I am, blogging this from the new iMac. I gotta tell you, I was so excited to get this thing hooked up and start downloading patches so I can get to playing, that I flat out gobsmacked myself! It took me over an hour to get it hooked up to our wireless network and online… why? Aren’t these Mac’s suppo
Just can't sleep lately! 2008-07-01 11:40:47 I’m pooped. I woke up around 3am, made a pot of coffee and headed upstairs where I began working on one of the corner blocks for the Summer Wine quilt. I’m not doing the quilt, I just decided to try one of the corner blocks on the piece of linen that I fused to batting and cross hatched a day or two ago. It may end up trash, it may be my chair back, it might be anothe Read more:lately
The XP death toll 2008-06-30 06:09:54 I’ve had my head buried in computer stuff mostly the last week. I’m trying to soak up as much information about Mac computers, working with Leopard, available software for it etc, as I can before I leap. Tomorrow my iMac should arrive.Besides my quilting and embroidery software programs that require Windows to run, some very important programs to me that need alternatives a Read more:death
The Ozarks look like the Amazon these days... 2008-06-28 14:46:46 We really don’t need any more rain here in the Ozarks, but raining again it is. I mowed the grass yesterday, and it’s probably grown an inch already. I’d started a batch of dough yesterday for pizza crusts, and I made and pre-baked them this morning, so tonight we’ll just top them and put them in the oven, watch a movie and relax.I’ve been busy playing around with var Read more:Amazon
Get out your tar and feathers! 2008-06-27 11:51:31 I’m a traitor to the cause, a low life scumbag with the morals and principles of an alley cat… since I made such a HUGE stink about it, there’s no point in trying to skulk around and hide it, so I’m just going to come right out and confess… I bought another copy of EQ6. I’m still not over their lousy activation policy. I’ve used and loved EQ si
All dusted off 2008-06-24 10:10:43 This morning I swept of the pieces of my broken pity pot and dusted myself all off, (psstt!! Hey Herman, how come you can’t sweep ME up?) so I’m more or less good to go, still gimpy but in a much better frame of mind!
Jim hooked up one of the generators to the RV this morning and we turned the a/c on out there, I’ve got someone coming out to steam clean the carpets today.&n
Nifty little coasters 2008-07-20 16:46:14 I just took a peach crisp out of the oven, using one of the recipes from the peach orchard, we’ll see how it tastes. I’m not a big crisp fan, but these peaches are so good anything made from them has to be delicious!

Crazy ideas 2008-07-19 04:46:55 Jim and I had a wonderful day yesterday. It began not so well, as his phone call with the AutoCad folks left him frustrated and he did not wind up buying the software after all. They wanted an additional $1500 for a years worth of software updates and support. Aggravated, he grabbed his keys and hollered at me to join him for a drive.
We headed over towards Clarksville and north from there, as Read more:Crazy

Can't wait for Monday! 2008-07-18 11:05:45 Boy Monday
is going to be an exciting day! Not only will the public get the full scoop on the new Bernina 830 machine (and boy, I can’t wait, even though I’m not getting it) but SquareSpace (my blog host) is revamping the system and will be adding new templates, so most likely I’ll be messing around with the appearance of the site again. I get tired of the same ole’ thing
Never mind! 2008-07-17 15:37:14 In case you missed it, I decided to try out Mac’s iWeb with their www.me.com as a host. Not even a day went by and I’ve already switched everything back to SquareSpace. I know, I’ve done this countless times before. No matter how much I want a simpler interface, it just doesn’t get any better than SquareSpace.
The site may go up and down and back and forth for a day or
Pay dirt! 2008-07-14 10:36:18 Click for larger viewAt last, I have another pillow I like! Two more to go in the living room. I could make it easy on myself and make at least one more identical to this one, but it’s awfully fun making them different and whatever suits my whimsy.
I’d love to get another one knocked out today, but that could only possibly happen if I make the same one again and even at that, itR
Dang it! Board going? 2008-07-13 15:18:30 Jim’s laughing at me. I was griping that my clothes are literally rags… the hems of my shorts and waistbands are fraying, my T-shirts are stained, my jeans are falling apart… yes I hate to clothes shop with a passion. I’ve been buying fabric to make myself a new wardrobe, but I just can’t make myself start until I have the house more in order. Too much home interio Read more:Board
Play, play, all she does is play! 2008-07-11 12:05:46 I’m behaving much better today. I stripped the bed sheets, washed them and remade the bed (a chore I detest) and I’m working my way through the rest of the laundry that I let pile up all week, sent Herman around to sweep the floors, watered all the plants, and I’m upstairs tossing some ideas around. I’ll post a picture of what I’m playing with later on, it’s s
Oops... 2008-07-10 11:28:35 I’ve done nothing at all today that I need to be doing. Dusting, sweeping, mopping the floors… all on my “to do” list. Instead, I finished installing all the add on software for EQ6 that I have, like Block Base, etc. I think I have all of the add on packages. Then I took a fresh snapshot of the virtual machine, and made an extra backup as well.
While that was going on,
I jinxed myself 2008-07-09 10:09:32 Again, I hardly slept. I’m beginning to think this house is cursed! Not really, I’ve been having too much coke during the day and a glass of wine with dinner, and my body really doesn’t approve.
So when I woke up and saw the weather forecast, with a 30% chance of rain, I immediately prayed for a downpour, so I I wouldn’t have to go out and water all the potted plants and Read more:myself
