Portfolio Wrap-up For the Week Ending 3/30/07 - Stock Insight Hits +50% YTD 2007-03-31 18:39:00 Below is the chart for this week. Since it shows up small, you can just click on the image, and it will be large enough to view.Another very good week for the portfolio, as it gained almost 9%, which pushed the YTD gain up to a new yearly high of +50.08%. That is close to last years high water mark. As with last week, most of the gains came on Friday (see previous post on how well yesterday went). Below is this week's portfolio chart:The rows in white represent stocks that were sold during the week. The "Day Gain/Loss" columns represent what happened yesterday.Another similarity to last week was that most of this week's gain came from holdings that I have had for over a week, mainly AIS & WEGI, however my one-day trade of GAP really helped too. Other good trades included ERFW & ALRY, which are currently still open (I haven't sold them yet). On the negative side, my trade of CRUS was terrible, and the ones for ADSX & AENS were not so great either. Additionally, my trade of ME Read more:Portfolio

Great Day for Stock Insight 2007-03-30 23:18:00 Despite the choppy market, the portfolio was up over $5,000 today. That should make for a great week as well. I am not sure if that will push the YTD gain to +50%, but it will be close. I will post the portfolio tomorrow as usual, and you can all check it out. Read more:Stock

Trade Alert - MEMY (Updated) 2007-03-30 22:30:00 Adam recommended this one, and I think it looks pretty good too. I bought 10,000 shares at $1.70, which is the current price. More info on this one to come....UPDATE: While the close on this one was terrible today, I think the chart still looks okay. The stock is sitting right on support at $1.68. You can see how recently the stock bounced off of the low $1.50's and then broke over what was $1.68 resistance then. Now that has become our current support area. Additionally, the RSI has fallen right down to the the oversold line (30), which is usually another indicator that a stock is at support. Lastly, the MACD just made the bullish crossover, and is just over the center line. That is also usually a good sign, and a spot that provides support. We shall see. Below is the chart for MEMY:I think we have a good shot at seeing this one head to $2.00, since the 200 and 20 day moving averages are up there. Read more:Trade

AIS & WEGI Looking Good 2007-03-30 22:02:00 AIS - Broke resistance at $1.28 and $1.30, but has not pulled back to $1.27. I think it will move higher again though. I am still holding my 20,000 core shares.WEGI - Is at .235, and is heading for the .25 to .30 resistance area. Maybe a hurricane is coming :-)PS: I think these penny stocks are working out in this tough market.
Trade Update - GAP 2007-03-30 21:49:00 Sold all 3,500 shares at $33.43 by phone. I wanted a 50 cent gain (+$1750), and this was pretty close (49 cents), so I took it. Read more:Trade

Summary of Today's Trades 2007-03-30 05:41:00 Here is a summary of today's trades, plus the chart analysis for GAP, as promised:1. CRUS - Sold 10,000 shares at an average of $7.755. As I mentioned earlier, this was a losing trade overall.2. AIS - Sold 5,000 shares at $1.20. These were my remaining trading shares. I originally had 10,000. I still own 20,000 core shares. I will look to buy the trading shares back between $1.10 and $1.15 as usual.3. ADSX - Sold all 10,000 at $1.59. The stock broke my line in the sand of $1.59 (20 day EMA), so I sold it. I only lost about $100 on the trade overall.4. ERFW - Bought 50,000 shares at .11. I think this one is ready to rebound again.5. ALRY - Bought 50,000 more shares at .045. I decided to average down on this one after it broke support at .05, which is also the 20 day EMA. I now think it may hit .04, which is the 50 DMA. I am prepared to buy more around that price. That mark will be my line in the sand with this one though.6. GAP - Bought 3,500 shares at an average of $32.94 Read more:Summary

A Lot of Moves Today 2007-03-29 22:13:00 I will have a summary out tonight of what moves I made, plus a chart for GAP. One thing about all these moves, is that it is saving me from a lot of the carnage in the markets this week. So far I am about break even for the week. Read more:Today
Trade Alert III - GAP (Updated) 2007-03-29 19:59:00 Bought 3,500 shares at an average of $32.94 on margin, per my plan that I mentioned in the previous post. The chart on this one looks really good. I'll post it later. If you buy, $32.77 (20 day EMA) should be your line in the sand. Thanks to Mark on this one, as he "accidentally" mentioned it to me. He was talking about Gap Stores (GPS), and I mistakenly looked at "The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. Inc." (GAP) first.UPDATE: I corrected the line in the sand, although the stock just violated it by penny. Read more:Trade

Trade Update/Alert - CRUS & ERFW (Updated) 2007-03-29 18:00:00 CRUS - Dumped my remaining 5,000 shares at $7.70. This turned out to be a losing trade.ERFW - Bought 50,000 shares at .11. I think it is time for this one again.PS: I am also buying more ALRY (30K so far at .045), and looking to buy some GAP when the price is right (between $32.83 and $33).UPDATE: Bought 20,000 more ALRY at .045. I am finally done for the day..... Read more:Trade

ALRY Falls Below 20 day EMA (.05) 2007-03-29 16:43:00 Look for this one to drop down to .04 (50 DMA) now. It looks like I bought too early. I may average down. We'll see. Read more:Falls

CRUS 2007-03-28 22:40:00 From a technical standpoint, this one does not look good any more to me. I am just hanging on hoping for a rally in the market tomorrow to bring it back up some, and then I am out.
WEGI Breaks .18 Resistance Mark 2007-03-28 21:32:00 We should see .25 to .30 soon now.PS: I would really like to see ALRY hold onto .05 today. The bid is now .048, which is not a good sign. I spoke with IR today, and they said the company is planning to uplist onto the OTC:BB, so that is a big plus from a fundamental standpoint. Read more:Resistance
Trade Update II - ADSX (updated) 2007-03-28 17:55:00 Bought 10,000 shares at $1.60. The chart looks decent, especially if the stock can hold $1.59. UPDATE: I forgot to put up a link to a contract win they had this morning. It didn't do much for the stock price, but I still think it's worth mentioning. See link below:Digital Angel Corporation Wins $1.5 Million Order to Supply the Swedish Air Force
PS: CRUS is killing me. The market is obviously really affecting it (the Nasdaq is down 20 points).NOTE: Originally, this said 9,000 shares, but I ended up getting filled for the entire 10,000 share order. Read more:Trade

Trade Update - CPST & ALRY 2007-03-28 17:20:00 CPST - Sold all 15,000 at $1.07. I did not want to wait around to see if it would break $1.08 resistance, plus I had a decent profit.ALRY - Bought 50,000 more at .05 to average down slightly. Read more:Trade

Pre-Market Update 2007-03-28 15:45:00 It looks like the market may start off lower according to this story:Dow, Nasdaq Head Toward Weaker Opening
AP - U.S. stocks headed for a lower opening Wednesday as investors awaited congressional testimony from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke about the economy. That should mainly affect CRUS. Hopefully, it can keep holding $7.80 despite the market downdraft. On the positive side, CPST is bidding up at $1.00 x $1.02. It closed at .98 yesterday. Read more:Update

Trade Alert III - AIS 2007-03-27 22:35:00 Sold 5,000 of 10,000 my trading shares at $1.20. I did this for two reasons. One, my account needed the funds, and two, the stock did not perform as positively as I would have liked based on today's good earnings announcement. I still own 25,000 shares (5,000 trading shares, plus 20,000 core shares). Read more:Trade

Trade Alert II - ALRY 2007-03-27 21:50:00 Bought 50,000 shares at .051. See chart below:This one is right on support, as .05 is the 20 day EMA, and that is today's low, the MACD is at .001, and the RSI is just above 50. So I am hoping I am buying right near the bottom. While this is a Pink Sheet company, the IR is being handled by Paul Knopick who I very much respect. We'll see how it goes.PS: There is only 35 million shares in the float (41 million outstanding). AIS - Earnings Out 2007-03-27 15:25:00 This looks like a great report, big increases in revenue (set a record for the company), and a decrease in loss per share. Here is an excerpt from the CEO:"We are pleased with our revenue growth in the fourth quarter, as well as the year, resulting from both solid product revenue growth and licensing revenue related to Elestrin. The approval of Elestrin was an important event not only from a revenue and cash flow standpoint, but also in validating our ATD gel system with the FDA for potential products in the future. We are pleased to have effectively managed our spending while we continued to make considerable progress with the development of products in all of our platforms...."Below is a link to the announcement:Antares Pharma Reports Fourth Quarter and Year End 2006 Financial Results Read more:Earnings
Late Trade Updates - HEC, AENS, & CRUS 2007-03-27 02:23:00 I apologize for this late update, but today was a pretty busy day. Between work, lab tests, and trying to trade, I just didn't have the time to post. Here are the trades I made, and why:AENS - Sold all 10,000 at .80. That mark was my line in the sand, so when the stock broke below it, I put my order in to get out. I was lucky to get filled at the ask.HEC - Sold all 20,000 at .47. The momentum seemed to be dying at .48, even though the volume was good. This may have been a mistake, but my profit was too hard to pass up.CRUS - Bought 5,000 more at $7.81. As I said yesterday, I may have bought this one too early, so today I took the opportunity to average down on margin. There seemed to be good support at $7.80, so I felt somewhat safe in making my purchase where I did. We'll see. Hopefully, the NASDAQ comeback from this afternoon continues into tomorrow.PS: I held onto CPST, despite the drop today. This may have been a mistake as well, but at least the stock is still above Read more:Trade
Wrap-Up of Today's Trades & Portfolio Update 2007-04-03 02:53:00 Since I made a number of moves today I thought I would recap them. Additionally, I think it would be a good idea to re-post the holdings in the portfolio and what I am looking to purchase tomorrow.Trades Made Today
:1. GAP - Bought my 3,500 shares back at an average of $32.98. Looking at the chart, I think this one should easily head back up to $33.50. My line in the sand is the 20 day EMA ($32.83).2. WEGI - Sold all 30,000 shares at .23. The momentum on this one seemed to be dying, and I had over a $2,000 profit in it.3. AIS - Sold 10,000 of my 20,000 core shares at $1.48. By definition, I should have held onto those shares, but I couldn't help it. My total profit on AIS this year so far is over $9,000. I do not think I will get $4.00 on my remaining 10,000 shares, but I would not rule out $2.00.4. ERFW - Sold all 50,000 at an average of .107. As I said earlier, once the stock couldn't clear the 20 day EMA at .12, I decided to sell. Additionally, the bid slipped under .10. Read more:Portfolio

ADDL - Earnings Out 2007-04-03 01:44:00 Here is the link:Aduddell Industries Reports 2006 Year End ResultsPlease read these over and feel free to comment. I have a mixed view. On the one hand revenue that did not include disaster response went up, on the other, income went negative when it had been positive. The CEO seems to feel positive that they will be a 100 million dollar company, and that 2007 will be a good year. Unfortunately, there was only a vague mention of turning a profit again at some point. You be the judge. Read more:Earnings
Trade Update II - ERFW 2007-04-02 21:48:00 Sold all 50,000 at an average of .107. I did not like how it could not get past the 20 day EMA at .12, and how it failed to make the MACD bullish crossover when it was right underneath it. Additionally, I was concerned to see the bid fall under .10 for a moment there this afternoon. Read more:Update
