I can never pull off a look like this. We can start with the hat and I’m done..lol. My head is too big. She’s doing it though, fabulously. The scarf around her neck definitely adds a playful yet elegant touch. The beige(?) shoes from Target fits perfectly with the length of her Bermuda shorts. So YES, I may never see myself in this outfit but KUDOS to her for looking so great in it.

Oh I love this multi-charm briolette necklace with a gold leaf cross. The 4 strands of briolette beads gives that victorian look. Doesn’t it? I LOVE IT. $14.99 from Target. Not too shabby.

My Favorite Spring/Summer Shoes

This is written for the second installment of The Bargain Queen’s Fabulous Festival of Fashion, Beauty and Style. The theme is so close to my heart I could burst…LOL. When Individual Chic announced that the new theme she will be hosting is SHOES, I was like, “I am sooooooo IN”.

THE WEDGES
I bought this at Target, on sale for $12, I think. I know it’s less than $15 . I wear this pair, everywhere, all the time. Either with jeans, skirts or dresses.
This is the second pair of wedge that I wore mostly when we go out for dinner or to Church. I’s my “formal” wedge, while the one above is my “casual” wedge. It was a gift from a very dear friend of mine who has a sexy British accent.

I don’t know if it’s a fashion rule or not but it seems when someone is wearing white, you could always expect something black as an accessory. Well not Midwest_Jess. She accentuated her beautiful white dress with nature tones. From the purse, to the Dior scarf she cleverly wrapped around her wrist and the strappy shoes.
I love how she put the collar up as well. I’m going to follow her suit and do a white and brown combo sometime coz I too unconcsiously do the white and black combo all the time.

Shear Genius Contest

Have you heard of this new reality show from Bravo TV called Shear
Genius? If you watched Top Design, then you musth know of it. If not, well basically it’s a show about hair stylists vying for a price and recognition of their craft. Oooh what a concept huh? LOL. At first I was wary of it coz I was thinking, “hmm, how could they possibly go week by week cutting hair?, what would be unique about it?”. Well after watching the first episode, I got the concept. It’s not just about cutting a bob style, or layers, or bangs, etc. They have challenges where they have to create a masterpiece on someone’s head using the hair and creativity. I’ve seen one episode where a hairstylist won the challenge by cutting hair using a scissor used to cut and trim bushes. I mean it was huge. If I was the model, I would’ve run for my life.

What I Wore : Gray Mini-Dress with Slim Trouser

I wore this gray mini-dress, slim black trouser and heels ensemble to Church on Mother’s Day. It was actually a last minute decision coz I planned days before to wear a white dress but my legs are tattered with bug bites from when my husband and I lounged in our deck Friday night. My husband was spared but for some reason I always end up being bitten, incessantly. We used the same bug spray for crying out loud. He said maybe because I’m too sweet. Perhaps,
I usually wear this color during Fall season but I thought I could get away with it right now by accentuating it with a pink beads necklace and pink beads bangle bracelet. Wearing a mini-dress over a trouser worked perfectly for Church in my opinion. This would also work for a date night out with hubby. For a daytime regular look I suggest wearing the mini-dress over jeans.

I found this Sugar and Rox eagle rose tee from FiveTone for only $4.95. It used to be $29.95. Nice eh? If they have it in medium size I’ll be all over it. So lucky for you small sizes, you can have it to yourself. Hmmph.
I love graphic tees. They’re perfect for regular days just with jeans, shorts or even skirts, like I did with this one.

Friday’s Bargains : UNIONBAY Pants

Retail price is $40 but was priced $32 at the PX(Air Force Base). After the 75% was taken out, I only paid $8. OH MY GAWD! I told my husband this UNIONBAY low-rise khaki jeans with olive green belt was meant for me. The 75% off sale was waiting for me. It was the last jeans and I found it buried among tops which had 25% off tags. It fit me like a glove. I LOVE IT. $8 for jeans, Helllooo??? AND, it’s Unionbay. Definily a Bargain Styling A-lister .

I’m still looking for another pair of swimwear for this Summer. While Wal-Mart is selling 2 piece-bikinis for less than $10 each, Target has a few up their sleeves as well. Here is one of my picks from the Xhilaration line. It’s a halter top and the bottom ties in the sides. I love the pink trim combined with the black. I am also digging the metallic cherry print on the other side of the top. Cute. FYI, the pieces are sold separately for $10.49 each.

Any of these tank tops would look great with either jeans, shorts or skirts. BTW, there’s also a white version of that Daffodil one but I didn’t include it here since I was only going for the colors .

What I Wore : Belted Dress W/ Jeans

I would’ve worn my Red Heels with this ensemble to match the red wide belt but I decided I’d continue wear the black heels since I wanted to wear my long cross necklace and black beads dangling eaarings. I’m glad I opted for it coz the red belt accentuated the whole look by itself. I would wear this dress by itself but my legs are still nursing a few more scars from the bug bites I’ve gotten 2 weekends ago.

White dress during the Summer is an item everyone should have. If you find one with a floral embroidery graphic detail on it, well, you just hit the jackpot. I mean look at this dress. *SIGH*

Online Retail Therapy : Under $20 Blouses

After a very volatile and shocking day from watching The View, I had to do something to clear my aura, heh. I felt I needed to do some retail therapy. The one true tested cure for what ails every fashionista in the world. LOL. Hey, it’s better than eating a whole bundt of pound cake, right? Not that I do that anyway, i’m just saying. But since this Momma is broke, I had to do it in a way I wouldn’t regret at the end of the day. Online Window Shopping. Yes, the credit card is a few steps behind me but a Bargain Styler would always think first before buying something. Even if it’s actually on SALE.
I love printed blouses. I’ve been trying to slowly keep adding them in my wardrobe staples. The inception of different prints like florals, geometrics, dots, nature tones, and stripes these days are making me a happy styling Momma.

GAP 75% OFF Spring Sale

GAP is getting rid of their Spring
items by taking 75% off the original prices. NICE. If only I shop there a lot. Or if I shop there at all..LOL. I mostly go to the GAP Kids. For some reason, the sales clerk at the Kids department are more friendly. They greet people as they come in and very accomodating while you’re perusing the children’s clothings. While on the other side of the store are a bunch of snotty clerks who couldn’t be bothered to smile at anyone. They’re usually behind the counter gossiping about someone. This is my experience from the few GAP stores I’ve been to anyway. Maybe because I was pushing a stroller that they thought “OMG, she couldn’t possibly afford and wear GAP clothes”. Ah, the humanity.
Now that I gotten that off my system, let me show you the stuff I would buy from their 75% off Sale if I shop there.

This is what I wore last night when we went out to dinner(and shopping afterwards, WOOT!). The $8 UNIONBAY pants, the L.E.I graphic tee that was among the haulage this past Memorial Day sale. A butterfly pendant necklace from Hot Topic(a gift form the hubby years ago), the remaining beads bracelet that I own(Baby Girl broke my other 2), DG blinged sunnies and Xhilaration black teardrop earrings from Target(can’t remember how much). The RAMPAGE studded platform shoes to complete the look.

Another great find from the $15 store. Ahhhh, I love the dark cobalt blue color. That’s what initially drew me to this piece. See, my husband said I look really good in dark hues of blue, hence me falling in love with the navy blue polka dot wrap dress that I found from the same store last week. I’m still looking for a perfect pair of navy blue pumps that I can afford of course . Anyway, back to the dress. This strapless, bow front mesh dress is from Jonathan Martin. There’s is a smocking on top along the upper back so your boobs are very well protected . If you like this one, grab it ASAP coz it’s also among their “last call” list.

I found this SELE stretch short sleeves blazer at $15 Store. It’s among their “last call” list. I love the ruching sleeves and the black tones piping of the collar and the pockets. I always go for fitted blazers so this definitely a big Yes for me when I saw it. I just fell inlove with it right away. This could be worn with either jeans or a black trouser, with heels of couse .

My Other 2-Piece Tankini & Boy Shorts Swimsuit

I bought that 2-piece halter top tankini and boy shorts combo at Wal-Mart last week for the Memorial Weekend. I love the embellished gold tones of the top and the front lining waist band on the boy shorts. I didn’t wear my backless brown tankini coz I thought it was too sexy for the event. Fitting into a 2-piece suit was my goal after I had my baby August of last year. I finally got to fit in one. Albeit it’s a tankini and not the skimpy 2-piece bikini I’m still working on, it’s still a 2-piece nonetheless . I picked a tankini/boy shorts combo because as much as I am proud of myself for losing weight, I’m not confident enough yet to let my stretch marks show. One day I will but not right now. Tankini is a great option if you’re feeling the same way I do. By the way, this new suit is $22.76 .

Albeit it’s in the Sale section, Yes Bargain Styling shops at Macy’s . Like this Paisley-Print Wrap Dress from London Times. It used to be $99, it’s now selling for $28.99. Who would say no to that bargain? . This dress can be worn with any pair of black heels. I suggest a slingback. Where to wear it? Anywhere actually, well except when you’re doing your grocery shopping, heh. Church, Date Night, Party at the office, the possibilities are endless. During the Fall season, you can wear it with a black knee-high boots for that sophiisticated approach to the cold weather. So that $28.99 sale is worth the money.

“If I Didn’t Have Kids” White Purses

White isn’t really a good color for mothers carrying a purse. It’s just not practical. It will be filled with lines from markers and crayons. Sticky from candy wrappers. And definitely not a good look if it’s buging with all the bags of tricks Mommy’s seem to come up with when out with kids. BUT, if I didn’t have all these things to consider of, I’d definitely have these 2 white bags from $15 Store. then again, since they’re only $15 each, maybe it’s ok to have one? Hmmm…
This shoulder bag is from the Chinese Laundry collection. I love the buckle straps and braided trim accent.
This satchel is from XOXO. I like it but it’s too small. Maybe a “date purse” but eh, sometimes I can’t be bothered to change bags. The braided strap that closes over the zip top is cute though

This cotton candy pink v-neck dress is a perfect spring/summer dress. Originally $64, you can get it at BlueFly.com for $32.30 on sale (originally $38). Made of mid-weight woven linen, this dress has a crocheted trim around the neck, with under-bust trim. This dress ties in the back and is unlined (so you may want to get a slip to wear under it - unless you want people to see your bra). They currently only have one size available (medium), so if you want this dress, you’d better step on it!
