The Voices of the NBA 2007-04-25 06:46:50 NBA Playoffs will never be boring depending on who are calling the games. Here are my favorites, all of them in TNT. I’m not discounting ABC’s but they are not that good except for Bill Walton.
Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan. If you want a profound analysis, Doug Collins provides that. Collins was the former coach of Michael Jordan in the Chicago Bulls and in Washington Wizards, and in Detroit Pistons that makes him explain the game in details. Kevin Harlan’s voice is lively and outstanding. It enhances whoever his partner.
Marv Albert and Steve Kerr. The former Chicago Bulls player understands the game and articulates it well. I like the Steve Wonders part of the game. Marv Albert’s play-by-play call creates an atmosphere of excitement.

MacGrady in the playoffs, I couldn’t disconnect him as having of a curse! Tracy hasn’t get past the first round.
I remember when he was wearing Orlando Magic’s uniform. They led the serieas against the Pistons, 3-1, he celebrated early with Doc Rivers, the Magic coach of that time now in the Boston Celtics. Ric Carlisle, former coach of Detroit, adjusted their defense by putting Tayshawn Prince on MacGrady. The Orlando Magic collapsed and lose the series.
What about his first playoffs with the Houston Rockets? The Rockets won both games on the road against the Dallas Mavericks. Tracy MacGrady was jubilant and uttered some words of being the series over. The Mavericks came back and defeated the Rockets in game seven. (more…)

Moss to New England. Moss is in New England right now taking a physical with the Patriots

Moss already has agreed to dramatically restructure his contract, which is scheduled to pay him $9.75 million this coming season. Derby eventhough it lasts only for about two minutes. The drama, the upsets, the come-from-behind are just some to the elements that let me stay front of my tv screen.
It is fascinating to know why it is called “Kentucky Derby”. Why it is held in Kentucky and not in Los Angeles nor New York. Here’s what it says in Wiki:

ESPN On Gas Stations? 2007-05-07 22:27:37 This is the ESPN effort to reach viewers at the pump station. What’s the reason for? 2-3 minutes of pumping my gas, what would I get?
Their idea is to place a 20-inch high defination TV sets on gas pumps that constantly replay sports news and are updated throughout the day. Does this not slow us down while pumping? What if I want to watch whole thing? Do I have to just let my car stay there while others are waiting on the line?
