Office Pants - The Struggle
2007-06-23 07:19:00
Alt 0Being viciously known as "thin", and constantly being told that "there's still more space for more", it inevitably means that guys who share the same plight have a horrible time finding clothing that fits.So I decided to document this journey - to find a pair of pants, black or close to black, preferably with greyish pinstripes, that actually fits. Before I get into details, it should be made known that, I haven't found a pair for myself yet, and thus this entry will be constantly updated as I scour again in town, heartland malls or even perhaps markets.Alt #x, which you might have seen at the top of this entry, means Alteration Number, or something like a Revision Number. Thus Alt 1 comes after Alt 0 , and so on.This is of course, adopted from an Engineering firm I've been working at, right after my EE2001 Special Sem module, which also started not too long after my final paper last semester.Anyway, so far I've visited G2000, Crocodile, and etc. G2000's slim fit isn't slim

Impatient Old Man
2007-07-03 08:34:00
To call this old man 'impatient' would be a gross understatement.

Work, Interns, Farmers.
2007-07-08 05:59:00
I've seen for myself how taxing work can be - waking up at 530am everyday and working till past midnight, sometimes even 1 or 2am, for every single day (Monday to Sunday, everyday, for months and years) I can't say I've personally experienced it, only because by doing so I'd have lots of explaining to do on why an intern is working till that hour, when interns usually OT till about 630 or 830pm max. Interns don't have much pressure, except that one time when I volunteered my help and in the end I got chased for work.B272 Christening Ceremony, the HelideckAnd I'm beginning to hate how different I've become since 2005(from the Army days). And I feel I need a good dose of Army living quick. I'm not assigned a Unit yet, does anyone know how to get assigned one quick? Who do I email/call?Structures of steel.I've always come across undergrads who never understand the fortune they're living in. One of the interns at work, an undergrad at NUS, owns and drives a car to work (and possi

5 modules, of which one is the EE3001 module, which hasn't got classes except during the first week (2 lectures). So its going to be (1) EE3001 (2) 3 X Breadth Electives (3) 1 X Depth Elective.Lab sessions aren't out yet. Surely at least 2 days will have to be set aside for them again. *Groan*

A Tin Of Biscuits. So?
2007-07-16 08:55:00
At the office, anyone who has a tin of biscuits at his cubicle will find himself friends, hungry friends, that is. So whenever the tin has run empty, a kind soul will paste a "Sold Out" sticker on it to indicate that its empty. So now, what happens if the tin is refilled?

Cable Cleats
2007-07-26 09:18:00
Since many of the undergrads by now would probably have done some form of internship now, those who have worked in an Electrical engineering firm (installation) would probably have come across One-Line Diagrams, and cableways. So today one of the Superintendents came into the office, pointed to the above catalogue and said out loud: "Cable Cleats"

Stonegrill Dining
2007-07-30 23:30:00
The black slab is actually volcanic stone. Sitting on top of it was a thick nice slab of Sirloin SteakStonegrill Dining , is a pretty new concept in dining methods, and it uses volcanic stone for you to cook your meal over - which means you can choose how rare or how well done you want your meat to be.Some facts:When a meal is presented at the table, diners simply turn over their food, then cut and side-lay a portion or two, allowing these to sear and cook to their liking. Their meal remains hot and enjoyable, as the natural volcanic stone retains a prime cooking temperature for as long as 45 minutes, allowing diners to eat at leisure, with every bite as hot and delicious as the first. The absence of oil or fats and the quick searing of the product at a specific temperature, ensures a delicious meal which is healthier and lower in calories than traditional cooking methods. The true natural way of eating!Seafood platter. Very fresh, for the pure seafood and fish lovers. But your best bet

Of Dragonboating.
2007-08-04 23:14:00
CCG Race, at Bedok ReservoirA Dragon boat (Traditional Chinese: 龍舟or 龍船; Simplified Chinese: 龙舟 or 龙船; Pinyin: lóngzhōu, lóngchuán) is a very long and narrow human powered boat used in the team paddling sport or Dragon boat racing which originated in China. For racing events, dragon boats are always rigged with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails and are required to carry a large drum aboard. At other times the decorative regalia is usually removed, although the drum often remains aboard for training purposes.Dragon boat races are traditionally held to commemorate the death of Qu Yuan, making dragonboating the only sport to be celebrated as a national holiday. The Chinese calendar date is 5/5 which usually corresponds to a date in June. It was quite a delight that I had the opportunity to join 2 races

Ice Cream Chefs - A Must Try
2007-08-04 08:31:00
Ice Cream Chefs offers you chewy ice cream, similar to the Cream & Fudge Ice Cream in Bangkok, a texture I've yet to come across in Singapore.Imagine your ice cream on a iced-cooled marble slab, flattened and mixed in with your toppings of choice, ranging anything from Tim Tams to Oreos to childhood favourite cookies, like this:A regular at $3.10 a cupJeremy Wee, the guy behindIce Cream Chefs shows us how the ice cream are made and served:The end product:Jeremy was also very kind to let us try a new fruit drink, Fuze, on the house! We had the Peach Mango, which was obviously tasty enough considering it still tasted good even after eating sweet ice creamFrom Left to Right: Jeremy Wee, Me, Another Staff (Sorry I forgot his name)The store isn't big, in fact, its small - just 3 tables. But decor is pretty pleasing overall.Ice Cream Chefs is located right next to St Patrick's school, near the park connector at its side:520 East Coast Road #01-06 (Ocean Park)Tel: 64466355Beside St. Patri

NUS: Engineering Essentials
2007-08-14 08:25:00
Its a new semester again at NUS, and on Day 1 itself I had a Chemistry major friend asking me about Engineering module requirements because her male friend (a freshie, of course) was asking her stuff, which did not apply to her faculty. And I've also received questions from friends who are in year 3 as well, still clueless about UEMs, ULRs Sartor, SS, GEM A & B and BreadthsSo, let me help out on this, because you don't want to screw up your graduation plans just like that.In general, you'll need 12 MC's of UEMS (Unrestricted Elective Modules) and 28 MC's of ULRS (University Level Requirements).First, a break down of ULR shows:1) At least 1 SS (Singapore Studies) module2) 2 Sartor modules, which can double count as Breadths3a) 3 GEMS and 3 Breadth or3b) 2 GEMS and 4 Breadths or3c) 4 GEMS and 2 Breadthsof which at least 1 GEM is an Arts GEM, or GEM B moduleSo essentially, since fulfilling both Sartor modules means clearing 2 Breadths, you can actually think of ULR as1) 1 SS module2)

The New Blogger To Hate
2007-08-12 12:14:00
I got this from Nadnut, read her story here. He's the new blogger to hate. He wants someone who's missing (which is bad enough already), to drown. I verbally abused him on his blog, but I think he, who has no balls, will simply delete it.In his own words:We'll teach him a lesson, won't we?

School's Starting Tomorrow.
2007-08-12 04:45:00
This is how my timetable looks like before EE3001 and all my other 4 Labs are added in, as misshapened and misleading as it might appear at present. Should I accelerate my studies and graduate in 3.5years? Are there any perks in doing so, apart from paying lesser school fees and getting to start work sooner?I just wish to either:1) Get over with school fast or2) Do it as painlessly as possible.

Men's Fitness - A Blog
2007-08-17 11:48:00
Metrosexuality, and fitness, come hand in hand, and here's a pretty good blog on fitness issues, suitable for both genders. For the uninitiated, Mun has a word or two on why you should work out, and for those who make the first step, he then discusses whether you should eat after working out. Then again, from my own readings, some school of thoughts also condone eating within a certain time window prior to the session. Some also condone both before and after - whatever it is, the point is to not skip the food.Whatever it is, working out makes you look and feel good.

Thai Accent - Vivocity
2007-08-21 09:50:00
So far, for Thai food, except the ones I had in Bangkok, I've actually only sat down in 4 locally operated Thai eateries here - the first was because I worked in Sakura Thai Muslim restuarant at Bukit Panjang in 2003, the second was about 2 years ago at Tuk Tuk Thai, the third, was at about last year at Thai Express, Esplanade, and the fourth, just a week ago, at Thai Accent located at Vivocity.Prior to anything I wish to discourage any of you from dining at Tuk Tuk Thai - its nothing remotely Thai, and flavorless. For that money I rather go eat at MacDonalds. And I'm not keen on MacDonalds. And so, back to Thai Accent - and when you dine at a Thai restuarant, it somehow makes sense to have Pineapple Fried Rice and Tom Yum Soup. And like clockwork, so did we.The Pineapple Fried Rice wasn't too bad - it wasn't exactly good, my mom used to make better ones, with unlimited amounts of pork floss to go with it. Besides, the Sakura one serves the fried rice in a hollow-ed out Pineapple sh

BJ Peanut Butter Is Updated
2007-08-28 11:15:00
Then she took me into her mouth. It was my turn to gasp - the water from the shower was still flowing over me and her, and she pushed me to the wall. She teased the tip of me with twirling movements of her tongue, whilst water ran over the the folds of my foreskin, occasionally causing her to surface for air. With a flick of her wrist, she had turned off the flow of water, placed her palms over my thigh and hips and pushed me further into the cold, mosiac tiles of the bathroom. She went in, taking huge mouthfuls of me, alternating between suction and thrust-like motion with her peach-coloured lips.Read it all at BJ Peanut Butter

Sextisfy - The Blog
2007-08-27 08:59:00
Sextisfy, a blog belong to a pair of exhibitionist couple, is doing so well that, they've begun to start charging its 10,000 viewers a week a fee - to prevent troublemakers from doing wrong stuff with their intellectual property. They've got 2 sample pictures anyway - the lady's pretty hot.--------------------------------------------------------------------And also, BJ Peanut Butter's going to be revived, but first to keep everyone in the loop, older posts will be shown first before the new ones come in.She stepped forward, leaving two inches of space between my face and her pert breasts. They were nicely tanned - brown on the outside, porcelain fair in the inside, topped with pinkish nipples, which were about the size of 20c coins. They were so clear, I could make out fine hairs that stuck out from her chest, as well as the aeriola of her nipples. I plunged forward - it was clear she wanted attention where I had already latched my tongue upon, and moaning ensued.-------------------

Tapas Tree - How It Was.
2007-09-23 11:17:00
Was at Clarke Quay over the previous weekend, and decided to have the kind of food that big, good looking Spaniards feed on.The GeneralSo we decided to head over to Tapas Tree, along the waterfront, and order food that didn't sound like anything we've come across before, which in the end turned out looking like something very Singaporean:This is how it looks in the websiteThis is how it looks like in real life. I think the table is pretty. The kebab thing is pretty good. Its a very filling food, but its too salty. It must have come in handy for the Gladiators who needed to replace their sodium content after fights at the Colosseum.Inside of Tapas Tree - the seats are very, very low, and it fits 2 persons!Anyway after that meal we had Shisha - which isn't as pleasing as it should have been because the new smoking laws meant that no Shisha was allowed inside of building premises - we had to sit in the open in nothing short of uncomfortable stools. (Think, no backrest)See, it wasn't p

Lacecloset Losing It
2007-09-09 11:22:00
Lace Closet (pictured also on the Right Column), seems to be losing its touch.Bad choice of imports, and coupled with use of sticky unsexy mannequins - its no better than those you find at heartland markets. You need Men to decide too, on what should be sold in female clothing stores - but you should not have a full male or female team too.

Nuffnang On BJPeanutbutter?
2007-09-09 10:51:00
Blogs like BJPeanutbutter, The Lusty Mistress and Sextisfy are blog of a particular genre, of which I do hope Blog Advertisers (for e.g. via Nuffnang) will soon target. If they (they = sex blogs) get readily accepted by today's Singaporean society, it seems to signify as if we've broken free from the shackles of our veritable "autocratic society" that we've grown to be associated with.As insignificant as it might appear on the surface, if one were to combine this with the current push for the Integrated Resort, the legalized bartop dancing a few years ago, legalized gum chewing - it all goes hand in hand in making Singapore probably one of the more liberal nations in this region.Nuffnang, you're playing a role that could herald in a new era - and Singaporeans should really cut some slack. The only thing that could ruin this is when some uptight member of the society tears it down and complains about it to the Straits Times forum.Additionally, it also occurred to me during my interns

Bag-Age's - The Female Bag Store
2007-10-13 12:48:00
From the best of my recollection, Bag-Age started as an online store, then proceeded with bazaars, gain a foothold and they now have an own stall in Far East Plaza, #03-98A, all in a pretty short span of time!I've popped down over once for a while - its pretty cramped, but they sell more than just bags - they've got dresses, accessories, and Victoria Secret's moisturizers (which is pretty popular with the ladies)Haven't got a picture of the stall. But their current laptop bags for sale include:Fantasy, retailing at SGD$69.90, and:Cane, retailing at $69.90 too.More coming up! Stay tuned!

Green Tea Parfait - its got Muah Chee inside, soft mild green tea ice cream, and near the bottom you get bits of Kellogs Cornflakes too. This was really good. Even looking at it was great.Little hourglasses to make sure your food is properly cooked before you eat it.This boiling/steamboat thing is better than the one at Kushinbo. And yes, on another note, BJ Peanut Butter is thriving and updated.

Looking For A New Look
2007-10-27 03:00:00
I'm looking for a new look, but I haven't had the time for it. I can only safely say that I can effectively start looking for it at the end of my examinations, which is falls on the 6th of December. This time, I'm moving away from denim jeans, however lasting it may be, it still gets boring after a while.Ain't got the luxury of time, so basically I'm looking for bottoms like this:(does anyone know what kind of trousers are these called?)And preferably a sweater like this (I like this cut):Anyone can help in giving suggestions where I can look? And of course this look will be have a complimenting pair of white loafers (from Zara)
