The Transformation Is Complete.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
This is the image I've been trying to create - no fads, all fashion decisions made with common sense. Hold it, you might think that everything on me costs a bomb, and the more you spend on clothing, chances are too that you'll look better - wrong! That top, from now-defunct Forward Statement, costs just $17.That bootcut jeans, just $53, from Topman. That bag, (exhorbitantly priced), is the most dear gift I've ever recieved. It makes me look gay, but its actually very misinterpreted, and under-rated.The brown suede shoes (not visible), below $100 from Beetle Bug.I now draw attention from men too. The transformation is complete!

I Want Shirts.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I suddenly want shirts, more of them, but I dislike how some match them in a very 'off-tangent' manner, like this guy:Well, that's on the extreme side, but there are always mis-matched clothing all over, not that I'm all high and mighty, but, putting in a little effort could go a long way. And sometimes, it doesn't have to cost a bomb, like this $17 top:Ok, ok, I am very vain, I know! But, my point is that, my fingers were itchy so I headed over to TopMan to look, and I found this shirt under its 'Sale' heading:Its probably as normal as other tops you might think, but, its the cut that matters the most. # Was £30.00# Now £10.00# Long sleeve dark green and red stripe shirt. Slim fit with narrow collar 100% Cotton. Machine washable.# 83H32NMUDLink.Oh dear, recess week will be over soon, and its highly unlikely I can resist retail therapy.

Cheater Bug.
2007-03-03 11:18:00
There has been some cheating at the recent ME2412 Mechanical Engineering mid-semester test, and students have voiced up, whilst the Prof has done his part to quell the angst.Dear all,The note below is self-explanatory. If some students did do things that they should not have done, I can only say that the tutors, Prof Subra and myself will be greatly disappointed.Yes, disappointed you all are, but did any of you go forth to stop the injustice being done, which we've witnessed since our first CA in Year1, Semester1 till now? Your tutors blatantly ignore the open cheating and talking that goes behind the back of the LT. I've even seen a tutor simply shrugging his shoulders when the cheating was pointed out to him. For those who have sensed, or suspected that some of their classmates have "do anything" for extra marks, I can only say that do not feel too distressed. In the end, it will be those who are not honest with themselves, who do not make efforts to improve themselves through hard

Xtralicious's Meme
2007-04-08 16:32:00
I got tagged by Xtralicious, and since feeling too saturated to study further, I'm doing this meme.Your three favourite colours for clothes:Brown, Grey, and White, of which, I turn up in school in Black or White the most, because I don't have alot of clothes, contrary to popular belief. In fact, I've sold over 15 garments of clothing over ebay. And I've made over $800 over ebay. But that's not the point.Your accessory weakness: Ear Studs. I've got 2 on my left ear, and I'm pretty certain there's space for more. Probably 4 will be perfect. Your favourite gem: Two. They're in my pants.Your favourite clothing: Long sleeve top and Jeans and Leather shoes.Your must have jewellery: My ear studs?Your watch:Is a $10 watch that does not look like a $10 watch.Your favourite pair of jeans:I only have 1 favourite pair of jeans and it got altered till one leg shorter than the other.Your favourite designer:Uh, too spendthrift for that.I tag..no one!On second thought, I'm not too saturated f

Back To Running.
2007-04-08 16:27:00
I took to running on the treadmill because with my flu I don't know if I can manage the 4.5km circuit. The session turned out pretty fine. Managed 14.7km/hr for around 9minutes on Friday, 15km/hr for around the same time on Saturday, and a more venturous 15.5 - 16 km/hr on Sunday, but for only 8 minutes or so.Nope, definitely not the sub-nine-minutes I used to be, despite schooling being more taxing than NS.

How I Turned Agony Into Joy
2007-04-20 09:24:00
I've been taking 6 modules for as long I've been allowed to do so, and I'm clearing a 6 modular credit project module this holidays, as well as doing a 12 week Vacation Internship Programme the next May-Aug holidays.Taking 6 modules per semester, is very tiring. Now NTU undergrads, please don't start comparing, because you all take more modules but cover lesser in each module. Besides, you all get to do Industrial Attachment as a compulsory module. We don't. Most of us want to but it would mean 1) overloading modules, like how I've done so, and 2) having to take evening modules during the Industrial Attachment itself. But sometimes, I don't know why I overload modules for. I'm not planning to do Industrial Attachment (and 'henta khaki'? You siao ah?). Overloading gets to me when I don't have any free time. Especially for 3 consecutive semesters. But then, whilst I was studying, I scribbled this:UEM = possibly a non-examinable moduleB = Breadth ElectiveD = Depth ElectiveEE4001

Model Agency Recruitment.
2007-05-04 19:16:00
I got approached by this girl at Orchard MRT, and I initially thought she was selling flags for some charity, turns out, the first thing she said was"Hi, I'm from a modelling agency, and I think you got the handsome look."which is fine, except that she does the thing over and over again for about 1 guy (or lady) every 2 or 3 minutes.Video of her approaching one lady, followed by the next. Her namecard.Seems like most of the general public are all suitable to model!

Topman - Jacket
2007-05-08 13:12:00
I've been looking for a jacket for school for awhile, those that catch my eyes always don't come in my size, or have been sold out nationwide for that particular colour. We saw this at Topman yesterday, and I thought nothing of it until I was coaxed to try it on - and it was perfect, almostLinkThere wasn't anymore size S nationwide. M size does fit, but I'm pretty certain S would fit better. That's quite an unflattering picture, and honestly, I didn't like it one bit when I first saw it, but my judgement changed the moment I tried it on.My pectorals were sprawling from the deep V shaped cut. I thought I looked good in it.Seems like I'll have to wait for another season before I start looking. And I don't know when the season changes too.

The DailyCandy.

This should come in handy for most of us at certain points of our lives.Talk about a letdown. Turns out grown-up life is plagued with all the same problems. And the worst of it all? Breakouts. Clearly the most horrific reminder of adolescence this side of the yearbook photo. Still, adult acne calls for adult measures. Alternative Apparel
2007-05-10 14:06:00
To contest the horribly ugly Hermes tee, here are some better alternatives from Alternative Apparel , a site I stumbled upon by sheer, random chance. They've got the tonal striped crew:A really cool Basic Crew Tee:A pretty comfy looking Vintage Heather PE Tee: And a Heathered Ringer that's finally, not too childishly drawn, as opposed to a 'rather famous retailer in Singapore'.Alternative ApparelEven if not, the guys are in pretty good shape, and if you've bee planning to get in shape, you could start with some help from Runners' World's calorie calculater:

Ah Boy Recovers!
2007-05-19 19:56:00
As some of you might have known, my rabbit was sick for about 2 days or so. He didn't eat, didn't poop/pee, and was cold all over. When a bunny doesn't poop, its dangerous - its digestive tract would just 'clog' up and chances are it won't live long. Bunnies and constipation don't get along. Plus, he was 7.5 years old, on the old side, so it got pretty worrying for me.I gave him the usual 'remedy' - forced him to drink, by flipping him over so he faces me, and my dripping small drops of water at his lips, which he'll lick it in, albeit a tad unhappy. (He doesn't drink water, since many years ago)But as of yesterday, he had recovered and here's a vid of him waiting for food at his 'gate':And here's another video of him enjoying a stalk of chye sim:p.s. that's my mom talking in the background, she thought I was taking pictures, not videos.

Running To Get That IPPT Gold Timing Again.
2007-05-19 19:37:00
I've been doing too much 5km runs, and as a result my 2.4km timing has become worse, because the way I run for my 5km's isn't specific enough training for my 2.4km's. They do help to keep a certain level of fitness, but they aren't exactly the most helpful way to train for 2.4km too.As a result, I'm going to track at least 2 of 2.4km timed runs, at a minimum of 15km/hour, which would yield 9min 36seconds for the 2.4km. A typical run I manage is at 16km/hour, which would give me a 9min flat timing. No wonder I flatted out at around the 600m mark when I started at 17km/hour. (I didn't do my math prior to the run)Today's run:Distance: 2.0kmTiming : 8min 4secIt sure looks like I'm not too far off-target.

You Can Call Me Daniel Ong
2007-05-22 10:00:00
30km per month only? Bah! I clock 20km per week which translates into 80km per week. But a change of tempo (I'm experiencing a runners' plateau) has brought me to doing more runs focused on 2.4km instead of the usual 4.5km circuit. The result was that today's 4.5km run was more spirited, and the 100m incline that I had to ascend just 200m away from my start point was alot more manageable, in fact, I sprinted up the incline, and went on stronger after that. Why won't they let me take part?

2.4km Timing Running Log
2007-05-27 05:54:00
People call me a narcissist, a vainpot, a show-off and what have you.narcissistnounsomeone in love with themselvesTo further arouse speculation, I'll use this blog as my running log too. And sometimes, a picture tells a million tales. The first 3 columns (3 minutes) were at 17km/hr and the next 6 were at 16km/hr. Treadmills really don't give you a chance to slow down unless you really need to.So, that's 2.4km in 8min 58seconds today.

Bootfit From GAP
2007-05-27 05:18:00
If you're thinking of getting jeans of late you should hurry down to Topman because they just released a new batch of Bootcuts, this time, slimmer along the thighs and shins - putting more weight there for the skinny's like me. (You can read more about skinny people and bootcuts here.)Anyway Topman's latest batch of bootcuts are perfect for the undergrad, the student, the youthful - I'd go try them on to show, but the crowds at the Wisma branch were horrid. The bootcuts are a lighter shade of blue, earmarked by a hue of energy - and they retail at $53, which isn't far off from the prices at Giordano. The tops are still, in general, not good enough to be seen in public with. So instead I proceeded to GAP, where the crowd was noticeably more mature, and I decided to try on their bootfit jeans.Perfect for the weekend, perfect for feet that walk all day.The bootfit, I would reckon, targets the young working adults, no frills, and in classic dark denim - perfect with a fitted polo tee

Best Results Ever.
2007-05-26 04:37:00
Ever since the first semester, my grades were going down and down semester after another. And I was expecting it to drop again this semester, not that I had no faith in myself, but simply because the EE2 Group A cohort, has probably one of the most competitive bell curves around in school. In fact, a recently made friend of mine from Chemistry who takes the same General Education Module (GEM) with me, as well with alot of Engineering students, particularly EE2 Group A ones, felt that this module caused the greatest worry for her. And the module wasn't hard, and she has had a rigourous grounding in Statistics prior to this Statistics GEM - she hated the level of competition brought upon the faculty by 'us'.In fact, for our Sartor, take FNA1002 Financial Accounting for instance, the Professors have always said that the Engineering students always top the class instead of the Business majors. We're very cool people I reckon. But point is, I'm pretty elated at this semester's unprecend

Bangkok, In Pictures and Videos.
2007-06-18 08:43:00
As some of you might know, I was at Bangkok during from Fri to Sun, the period of 15th to 17th June, flying by Jetstar to and fro. Our Manhora HotelM was booked via the Internet, coming up to less than $60 a night, which is relatively cheap and low end, but location-wise, wasn't exactly good - it was too far South. Taxi's there come by cheap, but the traffic is just horrible - the lights switch from red to green after what feels like 15 minutes. Its become so much of a way of life there that the taxi drivers would whip out their handphones to make a call while waiting for the lights to change.Note: Many pictures ahead + taken in chronological orderGoing to Bangkok means you can travel light, plus if you're planning to get clothing from Chatuchak market, all the more you should travel light. We went during the Hot season - so its best to get a good pair of sandals and comfy berms.Only maybe if you intend to go clubbing then perhaps you might want to pack in a set of clubbing attire,
