life with Zoe part II 2007-02-18 12:29:14 Zoe was crying in her sleep the other night, had been unsettled for awhile. I’d been in a few times in an attempt to see what was wrong and comfort her. I eventually got out of her that she was having a bad dream.
Me: What was the bad dream about Zoe?
Zoe: Vampires
Me: Well vampires aren’t real you know sweetie.
Zoe: Well who made the mosquitoes then?
How do you deal with a 6 year old mind that makes more connections a day than a telstra switchboard? No really. That isn’t a rhetorical question, she’s killing me here. HELP!!
Miss Gizzardhump
Well hello there! 2007-02-18 21:02:37 My! How sparkly the place is behind scenes Ms Kelly - I really do have to congratulate you on your virtual housekeeping!
Now, for the rest of you lovely people (see - I know you’re lovely, why else would you be here?) I’m Vicky.
*swift pause for handshaking and nods of recognition*
Methinks Kelly may regret handing me authorship rights over here *rubs hands and cackles in glee* but since she has.. Well, best crack on eh?!
Now there’ve been a few things today to make me perk up and think ‘must blog that’. First there was the unusual event of a helpful shop assistant in the local Aldi, then Stef alerted me to the brain numbing moronity of the channel 4 show ’shipwrecked 2007′ but then I thought ‘hang on.. who else from the UK reads this blog..?’ and decided to go off on one instead, just because, y’know, I can.
You see, I read a post on Jamies blog before toddling over here and it filled me with an urge to query something:
Ho
bits and pieces 2007-02-20 14:39:05 This is going to be a mongrel of a post…or a bitsa…or whatever you call something that is made up of lots of different things! I know it’s probably considered cheating, but it gets a few things out of the way at once…so here we go. Grab a and try not to ok?
Let me just say a huge thanks to Vics who stopped by to write a great guest post. If you haven’t already left a comment, and in fact that is MOST of you..it’s right below this one..get your ass in there and give her some lovin will you! I’d like to make guest posts a regular feature here at No Regrets and most of my fav bloggers love comments…so lets give them some incentive shall we? Who knows who’ll be next. It could be YOU
There is a new poll down in the sidebar. Just seeing what, if anything, you guys actually use/read/enjoy etc etc when they are in the sidebar. If I’ve left something off the answers it’s cos it’s staying no matter what! Would be nice t Read more:pieces

is this for real? 2007-02-22 12:54:47 Ok, be honest here. How many of you need to go sign up for this? Not me, but maybe if they expand to include blogs then perhaps I’ll be a future candidate
What I want to know is, what the hell is next. A support group and program for people addicted to support groups and twelve step programmes?! Don’t get me wrong, not dissing these kinds of programmes, I do believe and have seen first hand just how successful they can be for some people. But I just found this article a bit laughable. I’m really scared for our future as a society let me tell you.
Also while reading my feeds I came across this article. Seems theres been a bit of a cat theme happening with some of the blogs I read and thought I’d join in. Kind of fit with the title of the post too don’t you think?
I’m heading to bed with a head that feels like someone is in the back of my neck ramming an icepick up through my brain. Drugs are starting to help though they are taking their sweet time
no shit dick tracy! 2007-02-23 12:11:10 Well we all know how I feel about the federal governments ideas on banning laws that would allow for same sex civil unions in the ACT. Let me refresh your memory. Go here, then here.
Now go read this article.
Why the heck hasn’t someone sued the government for discrimination yet? If I was an employer, and discriminated against someone on the basis of their sexuality, I would no longer have a business because they would sue me, and WIN. Now of course if I was the bloody government, then hey I’m safe. Apparently you can discriminate all you want.
It just sucks. Big time.
Our government is fucked in the head. Why isn’t this an election issue? Right now all we are hearing about is how, if elected, each tosser leader of their respective party would bring David Hicks home. Now that whole saga is a freakin tragedy, I mean try the poor bastard or let him go. If he’s done the wrong thing then he deserves whatever he gets. But how is solving that going to better us as a

not gonna play nice no more 2007-02-25 14:36:10 You know what? I’m sick of being nice.
Far too many times in my life I’ve been the one who understands, who forgives, who is there no matter what. I’ve been chewed up, spat out and trodden on and I’ll still get up and say “Hey, i’m here for you.” I’ve been taken for granted so many times in my life. And admittedly seeing as how any relationship has two people in it I’ve been responsible for allowing it to happen. You let behaviours become habit and it’s hard for things to be any different. It’s happened in friendships, relationships, heck even working relationships.
Well thats gonna
change.
I’m not playing nice anymore.
Costs me far too much. I compromise my own happiness. And I’ve paid for it dearly. As have others who choose to love me. It’s not fair on me and it’s not fair on them. I’ve allowed myself to become something I’m not in an attempt to keep others happy. And it’s r Read more:not gonna
I'm selling out… 2007-02-25 12:41:36 I signed up at this site.
Go check it out.
Your not really selling
your soul to the devil, although it could become that if you want it too.
You see running this here blog, and mum’s cost spondooly. So I figured it’s about time it paid for itself.
By writing just two posts a month I can cover the costs.
I am going to be choosey about what opportunites I accept and write about. Not all of them are straight out ‘write nice things about this product/service/site’ although of course some of them are For example stay tuned for the first one tomorrow. It’s kind of related to that one that Vic’s did when she stopped by a few days ago and it’s basically a ‘write about an experience you’ve had with..’ post. Who knows, could be fun!
Anyway, I’ll leave it at that. Just wanted to let you know why I’ll be having some posts with a ‘this post bought to you by…’ thing at the bottom. Also ALL posts that I will
she's ok! 2007-02-26 23:25:00 Each and every morning, I take mum to work so that I can have the car for the day.
Each and every morning we leave at roughly the same time, travelling the same streets to get there.
Each and every morning there is a lone girl waiting on a corner just around from mum’s work for a school bus. Private school I think judging by the uniform.
Each and every morning we are very close to waving, or rolling down the window and saying ‘Morning! Have you got your lunch? Is your homework done? Brush your hair!’
Until about 2 weeks ago. And one morning she wasn’t there.
We wondered. We were worried. Where could she be? Perhaps a school camp? Maybe she has a cold and is unwell? Gee, hope she’s ok.
Next day, same thing. Well it could be camp, a lot of them have leadership camps for senior students at this time of year. That must be it. Yeah. She’s fine. But still we wondered.
After a week or so when it was obviously not a school camp we were REALLY getting worri

big news at ppp 2007-02-26 11:04:45 Apparently there is some big news due to come out of PayPerPost in the coming weeks. And we’ve been asked to take a stab at what it could be.
Anyway, after having had a bit of a squiz around the site over the last few days, cos I’m a newbie and all, I’ve figured it out.
See one of the things that you can do it donate your earnings to 2 different charities. Well what they are going to do is allow people to donate their earnings to me! This is why this question has only just been asked. Because I only just signed up. They had to wait until I arrived you see! Pretty cool isn’t it!!
Well it could happen couldn’t it? What’s that I hear you say? WAKE UP TO MYSELF??!! Oh bugger. That’s not really going to be their big news is it Oh well, hopefully someone will read this and think about it anyway A girl can dream you know. Mamma needs a new car!

zoe 2007-02-28 13:04:35 I haven’t really talked about Zoe of late. Well not about how she is doing at school anyway. We are all well aware of the frustrations and laughs she causes on a regular basis. Warning, this is a long post. So get comfy and grab a cuppa
As you know, she’s basically been grade skipped because the QLD education dept didn’t have an equivalent to the grade she was in, until this year. Her new teacher has really embraced the fact that Zoe is not like your normal 6 year old grade two student. She’s extended her in literacy to the point where for the FIRST time in just over 12 months of her schooling life she is challenged. I’m not suggesting that her previous teachers didn’t give her extra. They did, but circumstances didn’t really allow them to go as far as needed to really test her limits. (more…
briefly… 2007-03-03 03:00:31 Well it’s all happening here at no regrets. Well actually it’s not really. We have no internet at home. Which means I’m online only when I’m at Tony’s which is mainly weekends. May be a few weeks until we are back online…long story. And since this is called briefly I won’t go into it!
I’m sick. Went to the doctors on Friday. They took various bodily fluids and I’ll get the results on Monday. For the love of god, please pray they find something. If they don’t I have a prescription for a ‘bowel bomb’ which sounds nasty and reminds me of those mouthwash ads where the guy is swishing it round his mouth and then his cheeks puff out as it explodes all the germs away…do you really want me having something similar happen in my bowels??!! I know I don’t! Anyway, wish me luck…
Zoe has had her first sting, or bite, at school. Trip to the office with ice pack and a few tears later, and all is well. She see
hey did you miss me? 2007-03-09 09:10:34 Its the weekend. So I’m at Tony’s house. He has internet. We don’t. For at least another week. But it’s on the way. I’ve broken out in a red rash and I find my fingers ‘typing’ at odd moments even though they are nowhere near a keyboard. I’ve written at least 5 freakin brilliant blog posts….in my mind, but of course now that I’m here you think I can remember one of them? Not bloody likely!
Anyway, heres a quick rundown on what you’ve missed:
I’m not pregnant, don’t have a virus or infection and bowel bomb has been, exploded and gone again. Seems as though I just had a slight bug in my digestive bits or something. Which is a good thing I spose. It’s all better now anyway  thank goodness. I hate nausea almost as bad as I hate anyone touching my bellybutton. Notice I said almost..
Zoe is well. Her bite was all but forgotten by morning although a little red mark is still there, a week later. At least w
went out for lunch today 2007-03-11 09:03:40 Well that was the plan anyway! We ended up driving about 70kms north of Townsville to a lovely little spot up in the mountains…I mean we were literally in the clouds! It was just beautiful. Not a sound to be heard except for the odd bird, or a waterfall in the distance…occassionally we’d pass some other travellers but not many. About 1/2 hour or so into our walk it started raining, by the time we reached one of the lookouts, we were drenched. Didn’t stop us though! We kept walking and by the time we got back to the car both of us had our shirts off and were wringing them out. Lucky I had a crop top rather than a bra on hey! It was so worth it though. And the home made damper and cream and jam we had for lunch at a quaint little top of the mountain shop was just divine. Life doesn’t get any better than that…good food, good company and the most scenic surroundings…
It’s just so pristine, and serene, and tranquil. We really do live

still alive 2007-03-18 02:48:37 So we are all actually still alive…although withdrawal symptoms are kicking in! Fingers crossed that our new net connection will be here before the end of the week. We are hopeful of something happening on Monday…but as we are always saying “To have an expectation invites disappointment” so with that in mind I’m “expecting” it to be Monday WEEK before anything happens. Kinda hope I’m disappointed!!!
Not sure whether trying to trick the universe will work, but who cares. I’m willing to do anything right now just to get a connection happening….
My apologies for not responding to or leaving comments. Don’t want to be too rude while here at Tony’s and spend loads of time on the net! I’m sure you can understand that whilst I love you all, I love spending time with my man too…
Have fun one and all.

I’m not going to tell you how old she is (even though I know).
I’m not going to tell you how I found out it’s Kel’s birthday (even though you know that, too).
I will tell you she makes the blogosphere a different place (when she has a connection!) and that she’s a wonderful friend.
For her birthday I thought I’d post this Irish poem I just found.
May you have warm words on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.
And a few strange birthday facts:
* Since your last birthday 31,536,000 seconds have passed.
* In the past year your hair will most likely have grown 12 cm and your nail about 4 cm.
* Your heart beats at a rate of around of 72 to 80 beats per minute - since your last birthday it will have beat about 42,075,900 times.
* You breath at a rate of about 30 breaths per minute so, since your last birthday you have taken approximately 15,768,000 breaths.
* The volume of blood
has anyone seen my bra? 2007-03-25 06:33:59 Well, it seems I was found out, thanks to a big mouthed smummy and my favorite author….as you are all now aware, I celebrated my birthday this past Thursday. I hit double digits. 33! Don’t mind telling how old I am, heck I still get asked for ID at times so I’m assuming I don’t LOOK like I’m 33. Spose I should be flattered really…anyway thanks to you all for your thoughts and wishes.
The day itself was nice and easy, me and Zoe wagged school and just bummed around the house. Nothing spectacular, just spending time together, which ultimately is the best pressie ever. We spent the evening eating fresh fish and chips, then gorging out on ice cream down at the Strand. It was pretty cool. Smummy and apop, Tony, myself and Zoe, along with Mel and Steve and Steve’s daughter. All in all it was good company with good food at a few good places. What more could a girl ask for on her birthday?
I stayed over at Tony’s place - smummy and apop had
Are you ready?? 2007-03-29 12:51:18 According to our chosen ISP, we should be back up and running on Monday, at least that is when the work is due to be all done on the line or something along those lines..the phone number is working, although not at the house yet so fingers crossed that it’s all going to be fine.
Me and mum are so damn bored at night we endlessly pick on apop who to his credit has being firing them back at us, I’ve rediscovered pinball and now see flippers in my damn sleep and we completed 7 cryptic crosswords in about an hour last night.
Busy busy at Zoe’s school. We have a disco on tomorrow night and a free dress/color your hair day next Thursday to raise money for the Leukemia Foundation. The latter was yours truly’s idea and is looking to be a huge hit with the kids! Also who says that kids can’t make a difference? A very valid question from Zoe several weeks back has turned into a major project.
“Why doesn’t the school have recycle bins mum?”

i should have a speeding ticket… 2007-04-02 14:46:15 When we were with the old ISP before they went belly up, we were paying peanuts, and got a service to match. Not complaining, being wireless there were a lot of factors affecting the speed, but I have to say, considering we are only paying about 2.5 times the price (and that includes the phone line rental), the speed difference is phenomenomal. See for yourself:
Cool huh! On the old one we would be lucky to sit in the high end of the isdn figures.
WOOSH…see how fast I am now?!
Oh I have a new poll up. Any response that is NOT a yes will result in toilet papering of your letterbox…or inbox as the case may be And another thing, seeing as how you seemed to want to have chats on a regular basis, well 5 of you did anyway, I’ve decided to experiment with times over the next week or so and see if anyone actually pops in! If you see the chat widget at the very top of the sidebar, it means I’m online AND in the chatroom I created. I’ll take it down when I&rs
unsigned?? 2007-04-02 10:26:14 I can’t believe that some of the bands and artists that I’ve been listening to on this site are unsigned. It totally rocks. It rocks for the artists, and it rocks for the listeners.
You can browse all artists, or pick a genre, for example one of my favorites, Blues Bands. Choose an artist and you can listen to some of their tracks while your reading a bit about them. It’s just awesome. Most of them seem to have at least 3 or 4 songs, and it’s the complete songs. I’ve come across some fantastic ones. Especially in dance. It’s hard finding some good original dance music these days, most of what I hear on the radio is just regurgitated dribble. But some of these are just way cool.
I’m totally loving just how many different genres they have too. ANY kind of music at all. From ska (what is that anyway??!) to reggae, worldmusic and rock and the list just goes on and on….seems that no matter my mood, I’m sure to find something that will
i cannot believe it! 2007-04-02 03:55:32 Well watch out folks, WE’RE BACK!
Be afraid, be very afraid. As of about an hour or so ago, we have the net back on at home. Not to both computers at this stage, but that will be rectified quickly I’m sure.
I’m not sure whats going to happen to the cryptic crossword book now. Poor little bugger will sit gathering cobwebs or moths until we remember it’s there, or theres a blackout…. And as for my ever increasing skill on my pinball game? Well I’m pretty sure that will disappear in about the same time it takes me to catch up on all your blogs, which is likely to be a week or so I’m thinking!
Very briefly here’s a quick roundup of what’s happening round here:
Zoe’s back molars are coming through. AND she has her first wobbly tooth! It’s so exciting and sad all at the same time. I’m excited for her, but sad because it’s yet another tangible sign that my baby is growing up. You know it’s going to happen, Read more:believe
colored hair day! 2007-04-05 06:16:14 Well we held a relatively small but successful morning at Zoe’s school that involved coloring the students hair if they made a gold coin ($1 or $2) donation. All up we raised $199.05 which was excellent considering the school is fairly small (about 150 odd students, maybe less) and one of those classes was off on school camp! Well done guys.
It was great to see such enthusiasm from the kids for such a worthwhile cause. Half the proceeds go to the leukemia foundation, and half to the school tuckshop. Our convenor was excited about the prospect of finally getting a food processor!
Anyway below is a pic of the back of my head. The school captains decided that seeing as how I organised it all, they needed to attack my hair too I let them do what they want. It washes out after all…
And here is Miss Zoe with some of her cool colors:
I can’t upload or publish any photos of the other students so these two will just have to do you! It was great fun to do.

can’t help meself can i? 2007-04-04 13:56:45 I’ve added something new to the sidebar…it’s called a minipost. Well thats the plugin name. I’ve called it briefly. Instead of writing tonnes of posts in point form with the boring mundane titbits of our daily existence, I’ll shout them out in there. But while I’m here, I might as well update you anyway! Oh and it comes through the RSS feeds too so if that is how you read my blog, then you can still see!
Had the AGM of P&C at school last night. You may now refer to me as President Kell. They must have rocks in their heads! JK, I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great year for the school, and the new and improved P&C Committee. Not saying that I’m improving it, but with a huge increase in interested parents and regularly attending members, a fundraising committee and some fantastic ideas already on the table I’m thinking new and improved is indeed that right term to use! Will keep you posted on
Boo! 2007-04-04 13:04:12 This is apparently going to appear in the sidebar as a minipost. Lets see shall we?!
dear prospective employer 2007-04-07 05:36:53 Hi there. My name is Kelly and I am a person. A REAL person. With feelings, and needs, and doubts and a life.
I tell you this to avoid confusion. It would appear as though the many applications I have sent have led you to believe that I don’t care whether or not you even acknowledge my application. Even a standard response sent to all and sundry is better than nothing at all! To the company who sent me two such responses, I applaud your diligence, however a little communication amongst your staff my avert any future blunders that simply made you look just a tad imcompetent.
I’m curious as to why you consider my efforts not worth the 30 seconds it would take for you to do this. Email is my chosen form of response, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist, nor huge amounts of your time to hit the ‘reply’ button with a sentence or two. I realise you have many respondants, but I have probably spent at least an hour researching your company, deciding whether my ma
happy easter everyone 2007-04-07 23:18:35 It’s 7am in the morning….
Someone has been visiting in the middle of the night to leave chocolate bunnies and eggs and a new toothbrush. Easter bunny must be a clever little vegemite. Knows about Zoe’s new teeth and her wobbly one.
Here she is with her newest friend - Bella, who is apparently 8 years old!
How can kids be so darn cheerful at this time of the morning?!!
Have a good one people. If your travelling, for goodness sake DRIVE SAFELY. There have been far too many deaths on our roads already….
