update 2007-01-02 15:10:00 Can’t talk, can’t write, can’t read. No time! Here’s why.
Zoe’s birthday on the 30th which is of course followed by the days spent exploring each and every present to within an inch of it’s life. This year was a doozy. Me and Stu got her an a frame 3 in one easel things with a blackboard, magnetic whiteboard and a shelf underneath complete with paint pots for when she’s painting. Mum and a-pop bought her a bunch of paints and a brush set and some paper and a canvas and assorted stuff to use while she’s creating her masterpieces. She’s done her first work of art! Will take pic and post that along with some more of her birthday. That will have to wait until my sister gets back from her holiday though, she took more pics than me so I’ll just pinch hers
Tony. It’s all his fault. He’s on holidays and we are still getting to know each other and our house has been crowded and so I been staying over there a lot. Not much
melt down 2007-01-10 06:39:36 Why do I do it to myself? I know that when I do something as simple as change the theme then I’m going to spend the next week perfecting it and customising it till I’m satisfied. I know that something will go wrong. A very simple effect that I just have to have that nobody even notices can waste hours of my time when I should be doing something else. I’m not even sure why! Sometimes I think it’s simply the challenge. I see something, or get an idea, and just have to know whether I can do it or not. So i’ll research, and teach myself the appropriate coding and test and preview and consume countless cuppas in the wee hours of the morning….I must be bloody mad I think!
The thing is, I’m not usually so damn obsessive so the person I turn into is a total stranger to me. One of my biggest problems is that I am fantastic at starting things, and coming up with ideas and then I get bored really easily and quickly and things usually fall by the wayside.
howdy strangers 2007-01-09 01:21:10 Why hello there! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kelly, aka debambam and I used to write and read blogs. Somewhere amidst the eggnog and party poppers of the holidays, I appear to have gotten lost and only recently stumbled my way back to the alternate reality that is the blogosphere. It’s not exactly as I remembered it and I can feel some changes (not the aesthetic kind) coming on. I said a while ago to look forward to some new direction here at no regrets, well I think it’s time for those things I’ve just been thinking about to be be put into place. Thats a job for next week though
You may have noticed I tidied the place up a little and did some redecorating…it had been so long since I seriously spent some time here I had to spend 3 hours just clearing out cobwebs! Funny how much dust can gather in a little under 7 days on the net isn’t? It took me nearly all night (literally) but I got it looking pretty much how I like it. I’d lik Read more:howdy
issues 2007-01-11 09:55:21 I’ve received a few emails from people concerning not being able to comment, I forgot to add the coding for the spammy thing so should be all working now…at least here’s hoping! Please feel free to let me know if you come across anything else that doesn’t seem to work the way it should….
The staff and management here at debambam.net thankyou for your patience during this time of change!
randomness 2007-01-12 07:27:16 Seems that I can’t get back into the whole writing shit that is worth reading at the moment. And thats ok, it’s probably because my life is actually pretty good! I don’t know about you, but when life sucks I have more to write. Things in the news piss me off no end or I’m just feeling crappy so sit and over analyse and write total dribble that people seem to relate to and enjoy reading…well sorry to disappoint at the moment folks but all is well so I aint pissed enough to go ranting and raving and delving deep into my pysche!! Till I get enough inspiration to actually spark my creative or literate side, you’ll just have be content with the boring and mundane titbits that make up my very content life…….

hi from Aunty Kell! 2007-01-15 04:19:55
Please welcome into the world Issac Francis…born at 10.08am 15th January 2007 after a fairly small labor. Tashy is well, bubs is well arriving with a healthy weight of 7pounds 2.5oz. I spoke briefly to Tash earlier and in her words….she’s DONE! She’s tired, understandably! This pregnancy has been hard for her and according to mum today was the day they were going to induce her anyway. I’m glad that he arrived on his own though…and without any complications along the way. For now, enjoy the pics. The one below is with his older brothers, Wil on the left and Max is holding him.
Hope the day is treating you well, I’ll be doing another post later on today, but for now enjoy pics of my newest newphew!

am I done? 2007-01-15 09:49:00
I’m just going to ramble…don’t know where this is going so if you bore easily maybe click on someone in my blog roll instead of seeing this through to the end ok?!
When I first started blogging, there didn’t seem to be enough hours in the day for it. I had so much to say. Lately, there seems to be nothing. And I don’t get it.
You’d honestly think that such a complex thing as the human brain combined with the power of the soul and heart all mixed up with the unique experiences that we have each and every day, that we’d all never run out of things to think, or write, or share, or discuss, or just want to record for others or future reference. But what if I have a finite amount of words to offer? What if I’d already given the best of me and now I’m done?
I think that would be tragic! It would be like having a certain amount of love to share, or having one block of your favorite chocolate and never be able to buy another one….
owie.. 2007-01-16 06:40:45 I went and had a mole cut off my neck today…not because it was cancerous or even dangerous, but because it’s getting irritated and inflamed. Doctor used some punch cut thing which took a chunk 6m in diameter and about a centimeter deep out of me then stitched me up. Nothing too dramatic or even scary….but I actually have stitches! First time EVER I’ve had external stitches..very cool. Will attempt to take photo later Fancy being 32 and never had stitches before hey?!
Right now though I need to go cancel PT session at gym and take drugs….local is starting to wear off
Have fun and remember - If it feels good, do it!

When the wind blows 2007-01-18 02:04:43
Hi folks, it’s Michael here from Smoke and Mirrors.
Kelly asked (a while ago) that I put up a post here at Spilling the Beans.
It’s nice that she feels comfortable enough to just let me do my thing, whatever the hell that is.
I was thinking about what to post here at Kelly's blog when an idea formed in my whacked out little head…slowly…like a dripping icicle that forms on a gutter.
Yeah, it's winter here in the Northeast and God, I hate it.
It's 84 effin' degrees in Sydney (I just checked).
It's 12 degrees here in New England.
God, this b-l-o-w-s.
With that in mind, I thought I'd tell you the top five reasons I hate the winter solstice:
5) Weathermen that thrive on telling you what the temperature "feels' like. "Well, it's 12 degrees out, folks, but with that powerful windchill it feels like 1"
I hate you Mr. Weatherguy. And please stop smiling.
4) People that seem to get happier the colder it gets outside.
"Ah, isn't this invigorating? I l
upgrading 2007-01-18 13:03:29 I’m about to attempt my first software upgrade since taking full control over my blog…in order to do so I need to disable all plugins and backup all my settings…Not sure when I’ll actually do the upgrade but, I need to finish downloading all the original files first! And finish Zoe’s room before morning..I promised her. Anyway, if you see anything strange going on round here don’t stress too much….I probably just fucked something up but will hopefully have it figured out before long! Either that or just haven’t actually done anything yet but disable the plugins..which comprises about half the blogs features
Oh while your waiting for the dust to settle round here, how about having a celebratory drink for me…I realised a couple of days ago that I’ve been blogging on one place or another for a year Yay for me! I remember thinking at the time that i’d be happy to last 6 months, now look at me…i’m just a blog ne
about freakin time! 2007-01-22 02:35:05 Well FINALLY, something has gone my bloody way with all this damn coding! Firstly, the upgrade went off without any hitches, although I will be honest and wonder what the heck it did. I’ve yet to see any visible changes but at least I know how to do it now. Round one to Kell…
Secondly, you may notice that the posts now have rounded corners!! I really wanted to try doing it with just CSS(link) (Cascading Style Sheets) but it just wouldn’t bloody work so I relented and ended up going for a javascript method instead…if your the slightest bit interested head on over here to see where I got it from! I got it working after only a few attempts and unless you have java disabled you should see the fruits of my labor! Round two to Kell…
On a completely different note, it’s been raining…a lot. I mean we are in the tropics after all and with that comes the wet season. And not the good kind As a result of the downpour over the last 12 or so hours, we now h Read more:freakin
parenting, the good bits 2007-01-22 15:00:25 You know I’ve spent a lot of time bitching lately about what a little witch Zoe has been, and in comparison to her usual self, she has been. A lot of that is parenting tactics backfiring on me right now, but will in fact -if I manage to get through this period of murderous thoughts - put her in good stead in years to come, so while I’m pissed about it, I will get over it and realise that she is indeed a pretty good kid. Of course I will realise that about 5 minutes after she starts back at school next week! To be honest, I think we’ve just spent too much time together! But thats not the point of this little post here. The point of this is to share with you a couple of the little things I’ve done as a parent to amuse myself, keep my sanity and that I consider to be the best bits of parenting. And all because deep down I’m really just a sick bitch sometimes
Now I’m not talking about all those cute and fuzzy moments like “I love you mum” an
what to do?! 2007-01-24 08:10:53 I’ve been and registered with a job agency on the advice of a lady at Centrelink yesterday. After having a chat to the lovely lady there I found out a few things that have me rethinking my plans. I have NO idea what I’m going to do this year now! Here are my options:
Continue as planned and do the cert III in Children’s Services on a full time basis and be finished by October. Advantages are I’ll be done quickly, the agency has funds to help pay for it (up to just over half assuming I can get all the concessions) and I’ll be more likely to find work once I start doing placements and stuff. Disadvantages are I’m not really going to be any better off financially in the short term and I don’t know whether I can transfer back to externally or part time if I do happen to find a job should I look for one or I’m offered one.
Do the course externally while working casually or part time within the industry. Being enrolled is enough apparently for
hey everyone.. 2007-01-28 05:11:09 Well I’m still alive, and hopefully as of tomorrow possibly even get some of that life I used to have back! Not that I haven’t had one, but do you know how frustrating it is when you FINALLY get off your ass to get all the aspects you want into your life and begin working on them, only to have something come along and mean you can’t do it??! Like school holidays! Not that I resent Zoe for that, but it has been hard. And I guess that with her back at school tomorrow and my school starting in 2 weeks I’ll be able to get back into some sort of routine. On the plus side, these are the biggest length of school holidays so now the worst ones are over.
For now, I’m off to spend some time with her before tomorrow….make sure we do indeed have everything she needs for school, chat about how exciting it’s going to be going into grade 2. It’s funny, all she ever wanted was to go into grade 1, then when she did, now’s she’s a little scared Read more:everyone

life with Zoe - part I 2007-02-01 23:38:07 me: “Would you like a drink Zoe?”
Most 6 years would respond to this mundane question with a simple yes or no, but not Zoe.
Zoe: “Well if there is Daily Juice, don’t get the breakfast one, I don’t like that. Get orange, or orange and mango, or tropical, or apple or apple and blackcurrant. If not, just apple and blackcurrant will be fine. Otherwise, whatever!”
NOTHING is simple with this child of mine……
penis extensions 2007-02-03 13:09:25
Here you go Tony, this is just for you  Luv ya! A repost of one of my favorite posts I ever wrote…..
For all of you who found your way here by way of a search engine looking for a little something extra in your life, or pants, there are better ways of enhancing yourself - LEARN HOW TO KNIT. I hear it’s all the rage.
And now for my regular readers….
Did I ever tell you about my theory on men’s obsession with remote controls and mobile phones? It’s really very simple .
They are penis extensions
.
You see it’s socially unacceptable for men to play with themselves in public, so they’ve designed substitutes. This is the real reason behind advances in technology you know. The drive to find the BEST penis extension there is.
Remote controls (also affectionally called ‘power of the universe’ in our house) can be constantly fondled, caressed and kept out in the open upon ones lap without fear of being arrested. Men must have control of the
my girl 2007-02-05 13:26:21
I’ve mentioned of late how much of a witch Zoe has been..and at times she pushes me to limits I never knew I had. But I don’t often talk about just how much I totally adore her with every fibre of my being. She is quite frankly the most amazing little girl I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. And I’m her mum. How the fuck did that happen hey?!
Each and every day she asks more questions than we have answers for. Today’s examples:
Nanny, do we have knuckle muscles?
Mum, if your counting the cars that go past and one of those big trucks with all the cars on it goes past, do you count just the truck or all the cars one it?
Despite her outstanding arguing abilities, or rather the frustrations they cause, watching her put forward a case about why you should recycle is simply dumbfounding. To see the passion in her 6 year old eyes is humbling. How can one so young be so worldly and inspiring? Listening to her set forth a logical, well thought out and articula
soapbox derby 2007-02-06 15:39:34 This is ridiculous. When the fuck is our government going to stop telling us who to love and how to love them? Once again, those that are in power are going to knock on the head the ACT’s bill that will allow same sex unions partnerships. The following has me totally dumbfounded:
Mr Ruddock maintained the proposed legislation opened the door to bigamy and contradicted the Marriage Act’s definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman.
Ok, two things I would like explained to me please Mr Ruddock. Firstly, how the fuck can making same sex ‘partnerships’ legal “open the door” to bigamy? I mean surely - and I may be wrong seeing as how I haven’t read the bill personally - if you are in a legally recognised same sex partnership, you CAN’T get married. The other thing is, if you were in a ssp, something that so many have been fighting for, then WHY would you want to get married to another person? While on the subject of bigamy, if th Read more:derby
upgrading 2007-02-07 10:59:01 to latest version of wordpress….bare with me as I have to deactivate all plugins which means removing some of the decor…should be done soon!

have a good one 2007-02-08 23:42:24
This is going to be me on the weekend. Tony is moving the last of his stuff today and there is a whole new house to…um….explore He won’t have the net on yet so I won’t be online and as much as I love you all I won’t be coming home specifically to go surfing!
Oh in other news, I’m starting my course on Monday..can you say “YAY FOR KELL!!”
I can’t hear you!!!
For you perusal and as an extension of my recent post on our homophobic government, check out this latest installment. It just keeps getting worse. I mean can’t minors get married under the same circumstances now??? DICKHEADS!!! Drop the double standards morons and I might just take you seriously, although that is a little hard considering your prehistoric attitudes and pathetic excuses….but I’m not going to let them ruin my fantastic mood today. Its going to be a good weekend and despite the fact that Zoe is grounded at the moment, she has actually been pret
wordpress plugins part I 2007-02-11 13:18:42 Most of you will be aware that I’m using the fantastic wordpress software to power this little place of mine here. If you’ve ever been and checked out my plugins page you may also be aware that I use quite a few of them! Being a php virgin they have helped add functionality and features here that I would have never been able to do on my own as well as begin my education into how it all works. So without any further ado, here are my favs and a little bit of a review for each of them. This post is really only of any use to those who hose their own blog using the wordpress software, so if that’s not you, why not take a look at my archives or something ok?!
Admin Drop Down Menu - This is by far my favorite, and is what prompted this post. I found it today on a list of plugins that are compatible with the new version of wordpress. Basically what it does is when you roll your mouse over a top level menu item whilst your in admin, it shows the submenu items in the line
unconscious mutterings 2007-02-12 08:54:52 Ok, you may have noticed, that is, if you do indeed take notice of things, that there is a house guest over in the sidebar! Once again, I’ve decided to ‘rent my blog’ through blog explosion…lord knows why, at 12.30am it seemed like a good idea! Anyway after careful deliberation, I chose a blog by the name of “Brainfizzles” - which just struck a cord with me today. Maybe my brain is fried from the heat after all the rain…maybe my thoughts and words are evaporating in this sweltering humidity. Maybe the mozzies are slowly but surely getting my brain cells as well as my blood..I dunno, but whatever is going on I saw BRAINFIZZLES and thought YEAH thats me! I’ll let her tell you all about herself. this is straight from her about page:
I'm Gina. Thirty-seven. I live in Mid-West Michigan. Married with two children and a Samoyed Husky.
I love hanging out with my family, being silly, painting, home-improvements, taking pictures, being outside
happy valentines day 2007-02-13 15:30:37 Well folks, it’s nearly offically Valentines Day. Earlier today millions of lovers were rushing to stores all over the country in a last minute bid to find whatever is left on the shelves the perfect gift for their partners. My question is: WHY?
Why does it take this over commercialised day of the year that is supposed to be romantic, not shopaholic in it’s nature, for people to express their love? Shouldn’t every day be about that? Big business has gotten very good at telling us what our loved ones want, and when they want it. Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, etc etc…it’s just mass marketing all year round.
Romance to me isn’t the gold and diamond earrings - although they are always nice - or the bunch of flowers that was sent to your workplace because hey, thats what the mate did for his missus - even though there is nothing better and you’re not really embarrassed- it’s about the little things. The normal everyday things that y Read more:happy valentines

your not going nuts 2007-02-14 13:47:26 Yes, half my sidebar has disappeared. I’m installing a new plugin I found that may offer a little more flexibility with the sidebar..will see how it goes shall we?
Looks pretty, and would probably be ok, but it takes away some of the functions that I like…so I’m done playing now Â
boobie gizzardhump 2007-02-15 09:17:09 As per an hysterical email I received today, you may now refer to me as ‘Boobie’ or ‘Miss Gizzardhump.’
For those of you that I forwarded it to, feel free to divulge yours in the comments. For those that didn’t but are curious as to what the hell I’m talkin about, leave a comment and I’ll send it to you. It’s piss fun to do Here are just a few examples of what some of my family will come up with:
Tootsy Farklesniffle
Boobie Dippindoodle
Crusty Battynose
OMG, this is messing with our heads!! Try saying any of them 10 times, or even just once…poor Miss Dipsy Dippindoodle, smummy can’t even say her own..she’s come up with ditsy and doopy and flopsy and mopsy and I just know cottontail is going to make an appearance shortly. Apop is now known as Dorfus and nearly didn’t get his goodnight kiss from smummy cos she was wetting her pants so hard there was water from the eyes and her gutses were achin..as were mine…
fallen off the wagon 2007-02-16 09:03:36 I had the shakes. I was irritable. I couldn’t sleep. I just had to do it.
I played with the theme Â
If you look over in the sidebar, the colors for the headings have changed. And there is a little [-] there. Click on it. It collapses that section. It will remember what you have open and/or closed next time you visit, but is the last thing to load on the page so if you are on a slow connection you may think it’s on drugs initially, but it’s not really! The only one it won’t work for is my blogroll. So it’s now down the bottom of the sidebar cos it looked dicky
Ideally I would love my sidebar to be all closed up by default so you can choose the bits you want to see. But that may be coming in the future.
For now I’m outta here. Off for a dirty night in Â
Have a good weekend people, I’ll see you all on Sunday probably. In the meantime go check out my guest Gina over at Brainfizzles……did you know she’s a plugin junkie like me?!
