My first book...on the starting line
2007-03-28 12:34:00
Today I have signed the agreement with my publisher NETBIBLO, to launch close to this summer my first book "Relationship Marketing".This project it's possible due to my good friend the professor Manuel Carneiro, who introduced me in this world of publishing, and gave me all the motivation and contacts I needed to advance in this field.

Incentives & Logistics
2007-03-21 12:29:00
This article has been published on March 22nd at SS&M Soundoff Blog from ManageSmarter.comwww.smmsoundoff.comAfter many years in the incentives & relationship marketing industry, one idea is fixed in my mind: it doesn’t matter which is the goal/strategy/rewards of your campaign or program, if you haven’t arranged (really organized) all the logistics related to it.I have been managing incentives campaigns since 2002 for international companies like Toyota, GE, BP, Nestle, KODAK, FUJITSU-SIEMENS,…and the main obstacle in all this projects were the logistics ones. You can prepare extraordinary strategies, new ways to communicate the program (emailing, sms messages, newsletters,…), and the newest rewards at the incentive scheme, but finally the customer, employee, the PARTICIPANT in the program has to receive the REWARD.Finding the proper logistics partner is probably one of the most important decisions previously to any other marketing action. I’ve been working with several

Experience marketing
2007-04-12 08:32:00
A new way of rewards in incentive and relationship marketing plans is invading Europe, all kind of rewards related to personal or group experiences are increasing day by day at incentives and relationship projects. In the incentive scheme 80% of rewards (merchandise) are equal from one program to another. You can see some differences depending on target and creativity of the agency. To solve this lack of variety, from the beginning of the XXI century the usage of gift cards/certificates as a reward has increased till 50% besides merchandise in dealer incentives. From the classic incentive travel reward, now customers demand unique experiences, from the most expensive formula 1 racing day, flying lessons, personal shopper day, …to cheaper ones like spa sessions, golf lessons and one of my favourites wine experiences.Recently this new category of rewards, experiences, has been fully developed. This new kind of leisure reward links the company emotionally with the customer. You can reach

A few days ago I found an interesting blog, Presentation Zen by Garr Reynolds. This blog is about professional business presentations, and has a lot of valuable information to make accurate presentations. It has some funny videos by Don McMillan with interesting advices on this field.I just remembered this blog because I have finished the relationship marketing agency contest for my company, where I have seen all kind presenting ways. From chaotic through the sleeping ones. But at the end, I found the right one. I give a lot of value to this issue, the content is basic, but the way to explain it its as important as it.One of the agencies made a great show, presenting with PowerPoint and flipcharts, with a multidisciplinary team, sharing the explanation, definitively perfect, and at the end, they are the winners, not only by its way of presenting the offer, but this was another reason to select them.I recommend you also visiting the Guy Kawasaki blog, were you can find a post about the

Few days a go I realise how marketing is growing through Web 2.0. Visiting Guy Kawasaki Blog, I readed a post about one company named Pixulu (digital photo retouching on demand), in this post, Guy commented that he has used their services with the top retouching package (only $9,99) in its home blog personal photo. The result is unbelievable. Perfect. The conclusion, one of the top bloggers in the net is recommending your business....I'm sure they have a hopeful year..Probably is not an ad, but the results are best than any marketing campaing. In the Web 2.0 we have to think in this way...

IPHONE launch on Europe?
2007-06-27 09:37:00
Just 2 days before the launch of the year, one thought comes to my mind:Why Europe an customers have to wait till end off the year for having the new iphone? Are Apple guys testing in US market first to test/create new services/add-ons to its mobile project?I can’t understand how in this global market there are still this differences between US and Europe…there is no doubt that Steve Jobs people are preparing something or propably have not closed the agreement with a main operator to launch it in the old continent. Some rumours say that Vodafone is the first on the race to be the one, cause of its European coverage, but depending on the country, other operators have better positions, and could put pressure on Apple. We will have to wait here...Meanwhile, enjoy of the possibilities of the next generation gadget on the ad:

Incentive Programs Measurement
2007-07-03 04:23:00
My good friend Paul Hebert has posted a very interesting article about this field, that many companies forget in the development and tracking of incentive campaigns.I want to extract from it:"....As an example: The company wants to increase sales. They determine their sales force has the most impact on that objective so they target their sales organization for an incentive program. They know that they have a high probability of sale if the sales people follow a specific process. However, they don't track those steps. They train and communicate the steps - they rely on sales management to reinforce those steps in their "huddle sessions" - but they don't officially track those steps. Therefore, when they announce the incentive program they use "sales" as the reward event. Those who sell, get the reward - all based on the assumption they are following the steps...."Link to the post

Marketing vs. Air Transport
2007-07-03 00:38:00
Sometimes marketeers should think that we are living in a real world... I'm telling you this because of my last loyalty program lauch. My marketing agency and I were sure about the impact would have some kind of spectacular action link to the beginning of this program. The fact is that we are sending to more than a hundred outlets through our country, a welcome pack box to introduce the project to our sales teams all over Spain. In this box they would find several marketing materials, like leaflets, posters, loyalty cards, demo CD, and when the box is opened....a surprising ballon will fly (containing helium gas). So, nothing to be different from other projects...but.... we didn't realize about sending this boxes through airplane to Canary Islands and other offshore locations. The problem is helium air transportation is prohibited being liquid, and in gaseous situation, it has strong legal conditions (International Air Transport Association - Dangerous Goods Regulations) to be sended b

Firefox and Word of Mouth
2007-07-09 15:27:00
Why I changed my addiction to Microsoft Explorer to Mozilla Firefox ?Very simply, by an "influencer", Martin Varsavsky, the entepeneur, founder of FON, Ya.com,... who nowadays is probably one of the most outstanding bloggers in the web 2.0 world.I read a post published on it blog on March, and since this moment I get in love with Firefox, simple, faster and with lots of complements, like Foxmarks, Gspace, NewsFox, .... finally I forgot my last 10 years with Explorer with a modern, friendly and innovative tool. And just because a word of mouth marketing recomendation, of course by a guru, but just WOM. This new marketing field, well not so new, years, maybe decades ago, named recommendation or advise, but from this new century all these new ways to create, like the WOMMA (Word of Mouth Marketing Association) says "The act of consumers providing information to other consumers"Definitively, Word of Mouth is growing so fast as web 2.0, so, its absolutely essential that marketeers introduce t

Loyalty World 2007
2007-08-24 03:42:00
I will assist next September 26th-27th to this annual event on relationship marketing and loyalty. I have readed several articles about this event time ago, but I never had the opportunity and time to go. Finally my company (SEUR) has inscribed me due to the great way Terrapinn (organizer) people convinced me about the importance of my assistance. Thay use a great multichannel relationship strategy to obtain attendants to the conference. I will explain all the steps:1. First of all I recieved a newsletter from Colloquy (great site about loyalty) where the conference was announced.2. I visited the Loyalty World Europe 2007 website and registered to download the programme.3. The same day I recieved a phone call from a Terrapinn Account Manager to explain me how interesting is this event and an earlier inscription discount offer.4. In the next two weeks, I recieve several emails and phone calls about the evolution of my conversations with my HR department and finally I've got the approva
