Don’t Judge Me For Having an Affair! 2007-04-07 04:21:11 I have been getting some weird Google search hits on my blog for really weird stuff. I thought tonight to look up one of them to try to find out what the people are actually trying to find. I almost wish now I hadn’t.
Seems there is a blog out there with a couple minor similarities to mine. Nothing major, but enough both our blogs come up in the search terms I was hit with. As for the differences..well, mine focuses on family life, and this person who is a wife and mother chooses to write her blog almost entirely about her extra-marital affairs. (Yes, you read that right, and yes, multiple affairs!)
As much as I joke about me hiding my blog, my reason for doing so is just so I can have my creative outlet entirely to myself. Should my husband see it, there’s not much that would truly upset him, and absolutely nothing that would cause any problems in our marriage. I cannot for the life of me imagine having a blog that I truly had to go to an effort to hide from him. I cannot Read more:Affair

My First Interview! 2007-04-06 17:29:59 Moodwingingmommy was kind enough to include me in her interviews, I think she is practicing to be the next Barbara Walters!
1. Why did you decide to start a blog?
I’ve been blogging since I really even knew what blogging was. I started 4+ years ago posting updates on a personal website for family, and from there kept journals, first on Livejournal, then Myspace, now Wordpress. I’m not one for pen and paper journals, but blogging online is like second nature to me.
2. How do you balance the demands of motherhood with blogging?
I think moms make the perfect bloggers. Blogging is not something you have to do daily, and you can do it on your own time. I don’t sit down and say “Hmm, what am I going to write about now?”. Events in my life happen, and I am mentally composing my post before I ever sit down at the laptop. Kids and marriage make for the best subject material!
3. What is your top pet peeve?
Besides my kids? ;) I have quite a few and rotate them Read more:First
No, Really, I’m Laughing WITH Him! 2007-04-05 17:35:16 Brendan’s preschool Easter part is today, and they decided to make it an especially festive occasion and have each child make a hat and they will parade in them before hunting eggs and gorging themselves on pizza and candy. I’m not much of a craft person, so we made his very simple. (Actually, truth be told, I forgot about the whole hat thing till an hour before school, but that’s neither here nor there.) Being the resourceful mommy I am, I grabbed the stapler and an old folder(we were out of construction paper) and we improvised a cute set of bunny ears. Then inspiration struck, and I grabbed a lipstick and an eyeliner, and drew a nose and whiskers on his face. My hope is he’ll look so cute the Gapmoms at his school won’t notice how slap-dash the hat is. Not to mention the future blackmail potential of a picture like this-
I mean really, I love my kids to pieces, but considering they are driving me to the brink of insanity, I deserve to be able to get Read more:Laughing
Blogs? No Dear, Never Heard of Them. 2007-04-04 03:09:47 I have a confession to make. Are you ready?
My husband doesn’t know about my blog.
Shocking? Kinda. It’s such a huge part of my daily thought process(”Oh no she didn’t, this is SO going in my blog tonight!!”) that to keep it from him is like hiding a third limb or another child or something. Technically he knows I have one, but he doesn’t understand exactly what a blog is, or that I share as much as I do about our lives. He doesn’t have the address, and as far as I know has never even seen the page.
It’s not that I purposely hide it from him exactly. I just don’t go out of my way to point it out to him. I’m just seeing too many cases lately of husbands getting upset about them, be it the personal information shared, that you are writing about them, or all of the above. Marriage is a rollercoaster ride by itself, why add to the stress? Not to mention I just don’t want to have to be looking over my shoulder all the time, Read more:Blogs

Adding to My Narcissism 2007-04-03 23:08:43 As if my ego wasn’t already completely out of control becoming quite healthy with this blogging stuff, Bill C. over at Critique My Blog was kind enough to do a writeup of my everyday folly here in Suburban Oblivion. As many of you know he was featured in this weeks Top Blog Mag so I thought I’d submit mine for review before he got too famous to waste his time with us small potatoes bloggers. You can read it here-

The discussion did have a major question come out of it though- is it acceptable to vent about your [...]

The Third Wheel is Square 2007-04-14 06:27:55 I have discovered something recently about my friends- they are all freaks.
It’s no secret that the Queen, the Playgroupie and I are all friends in real life. We are in the same playgroup, and have bonded a bit more over our blogging ventures. We make a pretty well rounded trio; just enough in common to [...] Read more:Square

How My Day May or May Not Have Gone 2007-04-20 00:23:25 I may or may not have had a bowl of cereal for breakfast, and then inwardly cursed when I was hungry again an hour later. Damn carbs!
I may or may not have taken 3 children grocery shopping, and cursed out loud when two of them tried to kill each other in the cart.

I Finally Have Proof the Pregnant Girl Has Been Drinking! 2007-04-19 16:44:13 It seems Playgroupie has either been drinking, or pregnancy brain has truly kicked in, because last night she decided to bestow upon me the prestigious “Thinking Blogger Award”.

Ahhh..Ok… 2007-04-21 15:18:43 Remember how a couple years ago costumes from ‘Jo-Jo’s Circus’ were all the rage, going as high as $200 on Ebay? I never got it. Possibly because I never watched the show. Clowns are a little freaky to me, and the characters on that show are just plain odd looking. I seriously do not get [...]

I Remember Now Why I Gave Up Mommyboards. 2007-04-28 22:09:35 Way back when I was pregnant with my oldest, I joined my first online message board for parents. One More Step Up the Ladder 2007-04-27 14:11:09 In my quest to rule the world

“I Was Being Bad in My Room.” 2007-04-24 21:51:34 As most of you already know, Brendan is my problem child. A Perfect Post for April. 2007-05-01 15:35:51 The word ‘mommyblogger’ is such a funny thing. To a lot of the outside world, it brings to mind images of women putting up silly little posts describing the most mundane details of their lives. I Hated My Husband Last Night. 2007-05-03 18:50:28 I was miserable, and lay there in bed crying as I thought of the many ways he didn’t live up to my expectations, and why I should divorce him and move on.
