Furniture Hunt
2007-04-22 04:23:40
From time to time I’ll search craigslist and freecycle, just to see if I’ll come across something that we may need or may want. A few days ago I found someone selling a coffee table and matching end table on craigslist. I contacted them by email. They said they’d call me this afternoon when they’d be available for us to come and pick up the tables. They never called. I’m very disappointed. I emailed them again, maybe something came up. I WANT THOSE TABLES! I was thinking I could sand and stain them or leave them how they are. Depends on my HGTV moment. If they don’t respond, I guess Greg and I will check out a local furniture store. They sell new and used furniture and will also take trade ins. Big spenders check out Powell furniture for some gorgeous furniture.

Chicago Life
2007-04-22 04:03:24
Although I’ve never actually lived IN Chicago , I’ve lived in the numerous suburbs that border Chicago. So Chicago “life” tends to flow into the surrounding suburbs, which is why I, and just about everyone else who lives in those suburbs, refers to their hometown as simply Chicago. Chicago is definitely a fun place to live, especially downtown. There are always events and festivities happening in Chicago. There’s the Taste of Chicago that comes around in July of every year, where people from all over come to get a taste of what the food is like in Chicago. Yummy! You’ve never had a hot dog until you’ve had a Chicago Style Hot Dog. Then there’s the wonderful fireworks that shoot out over Lake Michigan every Independence Day and New Year’s Day. Chicago also has a ton of attractions, such as the Shedd Aquarium, where you can enjoy the sight of thousands of species of fish from all across the world. There’s also Navy Pier, a carni

Animal Toilet Talk

Simba’s (cat) second litterbox was a LitterMaid LMLC100 Litter Center All-in-One Litter-Box Organizer. It was convienent to maintain, but it wasn’t convienent for Simba to use. He isn’t the fattest kitty, but the box just didn’t give him enough room to “point and shoot”. He couldn’t help but splash using this particular box. He now uses a Booda Dome Clean Step Litter Box. It’s private and gives him more room to do what he has to do. I did consider an automatic Littermaid once upon a time, but it really isn’t all that hard to clean a box of litter on my own. Simba does a good job at covering his poop. When I’m ready to clean, all I have to do is grab the litter liner, tie it up, toss it, and throw in a new one. Just like a trashcan, I periodically disinfect the litterbox. We’ve had it with Caesar (dog) this week. I think we’ve spoiled him too much. He has decided that he doesn’t want to use his house breakin

I am in a rather giddy mood. Turns out that the seller of the tables let Saturday afternoon get away from her and she didn’t get a chance to call me. She called me Sunday and now we own a coffee and matching end table, all for just $15! I don’t know if I want to stain them or paint them. I’ll wait until we move and get settled in August. They’d look good in the living room or our future bedroom. The future will tell. I’m going to look for some replacement knobs. I’m obsessed with changing knobs. I haven’t done it before, but I’ve seen it done on HGTV. A simple knob can add the perfect touch to furniture and cabinetry. Now that I’m in such a home improvement mood, I have to decide whether we should buy blinds, curtains, or both? Time and measurements will tell. After picking up the tables, Greg and I took a peek at Walmart’s clearance section to see if we could find any useful items. I wanted to go to some thrifts stores, but t

Baby Shower Decor
2007-04-23 10:11:58
Looking for decorations for a baby shower? PartyPail.Com offers Baby Shower Decor ations in many different themes. I really adore the Poohs Playful Baby Shower , Bahama Breeze Baby Shower, and the Surf’s Up Baby Shower. My top pick would be the Poohs Playful Baby Shower theme because it screams BABY and I love Disney (especially the baby characters) to bits even if I’m not a collector. Baby Pooh and Tigger are just so darn cute. I can’t forget Mickey, he’s my fav. I cried when I met Mickey in Florida, well the man dressed in Mickey’s costume. I was 16 at the time .

Rosaries

There was an episode of Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School where the girls had to prepare for their first elimination round. They were given school girl outfits and rosaries as an accessory. Some of the girls made their outfits more provocative than they already were. Rain, she’s not all there in the head. She’s on some kind of crack. That’s why she got sent home on the short yellow bus. Just had to say that. Reality TV. Eh.

Bras + More Shopping
2007-04-27 11:03:39
Yesterday, Greg suggested that I go bra shopping. Why? Because I have one bra that fits and looks the way I want it to and because Jenn just bought some of the best bras in the world. I’d have to be one cup up before I’m able to fit into them, so yea I can’t buy those. So anyway, originally I planned to snoop around Victoria’s Secret. After remembering how high their bras are and how the workers follow you around the store in their FBI suits and walkie talkies, I decided not to go. We went into Goody’s and my bra shopping turned into bras + more shopping. I did come out of Goody’s with 3 bras, 2 shirts, a Levis bag, and corona sandals. We also went into Aeropostale and Old Navy. I got a polo from Aero and 4 pairs of flip flops from Old Navy. I could have gotten 4 more pairs if I didn’t buy the Corona’s at Goody’s. I had to have them though, I’m in love with cowry shells. I only spent $67. It feels good to have purchased a no

Ever since Greg watched the movie Titanic for the first time, he’s become very fond and interested in learning more about the RMS Titanic and its sinking. Although the movie does a great reenactment of the tragedy that took place that early April morning, he wanted (and still wants) to learn more. How does the ship currently look now almost 100 years later under water? Are any survivors still living? Is there anywhere I can go to see some real life artifacts from the Titanic? These questions illustrate some of the information he was interested in learning about the Titanic. Then just the other day, we came across Branson Getaways.com, a website showcasing attractions and vacation getaways in Branson, Missouri . After a couple of minutes of browsing, something caught my eye; a picture of the Titanic. So me knowing that Greg is obsessed with the Titanic, I clicked the picture and was taken to a page that later had him immediately planning out a vacation for us this summer. We discov

Kissimmee Vacation

I really hate the beaches along Lake Michigan. Most of them are dirty, buried in trash, and the water always reeks of dead fish. This attracts millions of bugs that promptly invite themselves to make a meal out of you as soon as you step out of the water. It doesn’t even make a difference how much you marinate yourself in bug repellent. The beaches in Florida are no way like this. A Kissimmee vacation sounds nice right about now. The warmth. The beaches. The theme parks. The palm trees. No bugs treating us like a buffet.

What’s better than spending a week long vacation in Orlando , Florida? Spending a week long vacation in Orlando in a vacation home. In a vacation home, you can enjoy the privacy that hotels just can’t give you. Most vacation homes feature a swimming pool, inside or out. They also feature pool tables, game rooms, huge bedrooms with huge closets, fully equipped kitchens, and much more. Best of all, some vacation homes are much cheaper in price than hotel rooms. So ditch the hotels and spend your next Orlando vacation in an Orlando vacation home.

It’s Time For A Change

I am terrible when it comes to telling people what they want to hear, so I don’t. Probably why I don’t have an assload of friends. I’m not going to say OMGAWD this is beautiful, when I don’t believe it’s true. When I find something fishy about a person, I back away. When I’m irked or annoyed constantly with a person, I back away. Rora, Shannon, and Chanel all wrote some insightful posts about friends and the social life scene. I’m now thinking about those posts. It’s time for me to clean up my friend’s lists online. There are some people on my myspace that I knew in real life but I don’t think that they need to be on the list, and won’t benefit me. I’m extra picky when it comes to facebook, I use that to keep up with the long lost. I won’t add anyone that I don’t know, ever. Offline I really don’t have a problem with unwanted friends because I’m not so quick to let people in my web. I am a

Big spenders make your way over to DamnImCute.Com to splurge on your favorite lamb clothing by Gwen Stefani. I’d have to say that my favorites are the Scoop Neck Tee and the Hooded Trench coat. I do have to add my two cents though. The Scoop Neck Tee’s pattern is a bit busy for the eyes. I’d fancy the trench coat more if the font wasn’t pixel-y. I think it would look better if maybe 3 different fonts were chosen to pattern the jacket. Love Angel Music Baby.

Bids start at 1 cent, if someone else bids 1 cent then 1 cent is no longer the lowest UNIQUE bid. Then the bid goes up to 2 cents. If more than one person bids 2 cents then 2 cents is no longer unique. Say you bid 3 cents and no one else bids 3 cents, then 3 cents is the lowest and UNIQUE bid since no one else bid 3 cents, so you win! Below is an example of an auction. I can’t wait until the time comes when we’re able to build our dream bathroom. I want it to have a doubled sized spa tub, large enough for 4, a shower large enough for at least 3, and heated floors. It sucks taking a bath or shower together in such a small standard space. We are both little people and still there’s not enough room. Not just any tea but blooming tea. Full Bloom Tea offers hand tied Artisan teas that actually bloom before your eyes when added to water. I didn’t understand until I watched the blooming in action. It kinda creeped me out at first but when finished, I thought the blooming was kinda cool. It reminds me of a business card Santa gave me one year that turned into a sponge when wet. Full Bloom Tea is having a Mother’s Day special on blooming tea sets. There’s a tea set for $29.99 which includes a large transparent glass teapot and six assorted tea blooms. Six blooms make eighteen 27 ounce pots of tea. I’ll actually consider ordering a tea set for my mother as she’s a heavy tea drinker, I am too. She already has enough lotion and perfume-y items so a blooming

While deciding which color to choose, I couldn’t figure out the difference between the 100% color line and the Nutrisse line. Nutrisse put emphasis on “nourishing”, so that’s what I chose in the color of Dark Mahogany Brown - 45 - Cinnamon Stick. The box said to leave it in for 25 minutes for little or no grey hair and 35 minutes for more grey hair. Well I DON’T HAVE ANY GREY HAIR, so I left it in for 25 minutes. I rinsed it out and my hair color hadn’t changed. Guess I should have left it in for 35 minutes. Maybe I’ll try again next month with wet hair. This has happened to me a time before using some tube that I got from Sally’s. I don’t know if I didn’t leave it in long enough or my hair just said no. Don’t remember. That mood being life is boring, I need to go do something, make a change, make a purchase. I want to dye my hair BUT I don’t want to use chemicals. It defeats the purpose of being natural. For those that don’t know, I cut off all of my hair December of 2005 due to me frying my hair with dye. I used Dark n Lovely, that crap is so strong. It’s very bad on the hair, plus I was going shades lighter, so that didn’t really help. I’ve always wanted to be able to wear a fro, having a relaxer didn’t allow me to do so. So, I stopped the dying and relaxing. I’ve been lye and dye free for 17 months. The stores don’t sell any natural hair dyes, so I’d have to order henna. I want to dye my hair NOW. I use a lot of Garnier Fructis products and I love them. I really want to try their dye. My hair is thi
