Still a church
2007-05-31 00:45:00
Recently in Montréal, people with bad ideas have been succesful. On top of that, the i'm-ready-to-sell-your-mother businessmen that decided, someday, that churches weren't lucrative enough for them. They then decided to offer big amounts for the old buildings, part of the Heritage of our history. Big contracts, big money. They renovated those churches and made condos instead. Other i-don't-give-a-damn-about-your-religion people decided to buy the condos, for astonishing prices. Even then, it got sold in very small time. Now, when I pass by a church in Montréal that's still alive, that has not been raped by the hand of sharks surrounding every peace of anything that can be turned into money, I smile.

Sweet memories !
2007-05-29 00:52:00
Where is fall ? Bring me to fall right now... Argh, that sweet feeling of the Bell Center, when the crowd is over excited by the promise of a nice year. Like the vinicultor with his vine.

Le tour de l'île de Montréal 2007
2007-06-04 00:38:00
Friday, the night ride. 20 km. Really funny; relaxing. Sunday, the day ride. The whole east of the island of Montr éal. 50 km. A humid day. It was funny; in part because I hanged in the head portion of the group. A group of 30 000 persons.

Fairplay; that's what we try to show children by the use of sports. Be gentle with your opponents. When you make someone fall, go help him get on his feet. When a penalty is called against you, get the ball fast to the other team. When the game is over, go home, watch television. See hockey players hit themselves for complete pleasure; see that baseball hitter run over the pitcher for that second throw to hit him; see that italian football player fake a fall, grab his knees, crying to death (and when a penalty is called against the other team, getting up and running faster than before to get to the ball). Is that what we call hypocrisy ?

Nuit blanche sur tableau noir
2007-06-10 00:24:00
This weekend on Mont-Royal st. is an artistic festival called "Sleepless night on black board" (the name has no sense translated). The famous street becomes pedestrian from De Lorimier to St-Hubert, which means you can walk on it for almost an hour, browsing from itinerant merchant to another. It is faboulos to see so many people walking in the middle of the street, which is colored by paintings all the way (it is sad we gotta walk on it).

That little girl was so cute, eating croissants as big as her head.

Interesting comment

Lately, I've been receiving comments on pictures size. I only want to mention that I took good note about that. I'm working on that actually; let's say double size would be ok ?

Christmas in (almost) summer !?
2007-06-14 00:52:00
Walking back home today from work, I came in front of what looked to me as a winter tree. In real good shape for the season, after those two really humid weeks, it surprised me how it shined in full day light !

Perfect place for a local beer (commercial beers, though). Between the limit of creepy and old tavern, many kind of people come here to have a drink. On Mont-Royal street, near St-Hubert.

Pastry on the go

Saturday morining, humid. Don't feel like preparing breakfast. The perfect plan : bread or pastry on the go, walking by my favorite coffee seller in Montreal. Week end has a good start !

Saint-Jean-Baptiste street
2007-06-23 01:16:00
This is the Saint -Jean-Baptiste street. On June 24th, it is Québec's national day. Armed with our 24 pack of beer, we head to municipal parks for live french canadian music, light up huge fires and stay awake until next morning. Colors for this day : light blue and white. Watch the flags.

First show of the year. Spain was the first country to go with its fireworks show over La Ronde and the Jacques Cartier Bridge. Up to the end of July, competitions continue. For more info, L'International des feux Loto-Québec.
