Bumper Sticker Thoughts
2007-04-15 18:28:00
Here is my bumper sticker idea. I know every time I'm at a red light I read the bumper stickers on the car in front of me so why not use all that red light time for a little free advertising! Will it make a difference? Will people write it down and visit my site? Would you? It's a good first design and I would love to hear your thoughts on how I can make it better before I order ;) All the

I'm sure you've heard how important that phrase is in real estate. It is much the same in art. Where you display your work is important online and offline. and that's one thing I strongly learned about where not to market my work. I love fairs, craft fairs, festivals, meeting people, chatting etc even though I'm a bit shy. There are 3 local Juried Fine Art Fairs this summer that I'm going to go

A Mother's Bouquet
2007-04-30 17:20:00
Sometimes the best things in life are free. Flowers picked by a child's hand, shushed whispers, running water and bursting smiles as they hand you a handful of treasures picked from your yard. This piece is fresh off the easel. It measures 5" x 7" and is painted in oil with brushes and palette knives on 1/4" primed panel. Thick and textural painted under a spring sun from my little yard

Artist Naturalist Thoughts and Questions
2007-05-17 15:03:00
I recently for the fun of it made up an image of words that somehow begin to describe me and my art. here it is. I am a seasonal person, I need nature's seasons, although nature doesn't need me. and as an artist I go through changes inward and outward like the moon. I have been experiencing changes in myself lately much like the spring coming out of winter. I came across this definition that

Rose of Sharon -Series
2006-08-04 07:23:00
I am so glad that the local parade of deer through our yard doesn't like our flowering Rose of Sharon . (which I just found out is a Lucy, Hibiscus Syriacus ) It reaches high at about Ten Feet or so. Although the deer ate all the blooms off my Red & Pink Peace Rose, they have left this large flowering Rose of Sharon alone, untouched begging to be painted over and over until all the blooms fade.

Almost There ACEO's #15 -17
2006-07-09 10:40:00
Here are no's 15-17 of the 18 ACEO Art card series I've been working on. No. 18 will be posted tomorrow. What I've learned through this series as others is when you start you think surely by the close of 18 or however many, you will exhaust some inspiration of the ideas you had in mind at the end. And be ready to leave it behind for something new. Not so, this series is only serving to inspire

2006-06-29 12:17:00
Here are no's 12 & 10, they are a part of a four piece set within the 18 series. You can see the retouched complete set below in the other post. These pictures are a little better, but it still remains that my camera doesn't like close ups,But hey I'm not much for pictures of myself either. When we go somewhere I'm usually so busy shooting the surroundings that I forget to take pictures of the

ACEO #8
2006-06-29 10:53:00
Camera wo's, Ok so my digital camera gets the job done but shooting these small works and trying to capture the oil texture, details and colors well ..... to say the least I am not satisfied. This is #8 and a perfect example, half in focus and the rest is just sliding right on off the card. I am tempted to dig out my trusty Pentax 35 mm all manual camera. Ahh but the ease of the digital, shoot,

Carnival Days
2007-05-24 08:01:00
I am going to begin offering quality prints of some of my paintings through my etsy store and website. The first one I have to present is Carnival Days. This is an archival giclee print on matte canvas from my original painting. The UV inks are said to last 100 -200 years which is a long time to enjoy this festive painting. The original was painted on site from a local homedays festival.

Never Paint into the Wind
2006-04-05 14:07:00
Without an anchor. Yesterday was an extremely windy day, cold too but tolerable. I had just started this painting when the canvas flopped forward straight into a pile of cadmium yellow right in the upper sky. I had to work on the fly, so I quickly grabbed a hand grip and a small metal loop leftover from a broken wind chime near by. I gently hooked the top and anchored the loop to the back of

2007-06-01 10:18:00
Here is another painting in my abstract series. It measures 24" wide and 48" tall, oil on panel. I have titled it Bird Song. Although I should rename it to Ant Attack lol, because I must have set up on or near an ant home/hill I was swarmed and pestered constantly as I painted. Detail pictures Part of me wants to rework this some or maybe add some layers of highlights and color but I'm

Here is Purple Ornamentals. 8" x 10" oil, plein air on heavy primed watercolor paper I love these new works because they come directly from nature in an Andy Goldsworthy kind of way.
