POP: Dark Knight Spoof Scene 2008-07-28 07:30:53 I saw The Dark Knight
for the second time this weekend with the Mrs. I personally don't have a problem with Batman's dialogue but this spoof none the less made me laugh. I actually realized why the breathy deep dialogue does not bother me like it has irked others. When reading the Batman Begins script it actually mentioned a voice modulator as a part of his helmet. Yes I am a sad sad man.

POP: ScriptGirl Report for July 25th 2008 2008-07-27 20:20:04 Well speaking of screenwriting, I am now officially going to the Creative Screenwriting Expo in LA this November. It's my first trip to LA and I look forward to being disappointed with everything that is LA.
POP: Glitch in The System @ E3 2008-07-26 07:30:03 Check out Comedy.com mocking C-List celebrities that I have not even heard of and probably never will. Was E3 hurting that bad this year? Haven't they had like Dwayne Johnson in the past? Read more:System

TOT: Caprica promo 2008-07-25 07:30:14 Oh how I want to enjoy this spinoff but it just looks flat, and reminds me of the potential to ruin an already great series with stupid prequels. Seriously? Hasn't anyone figured out why prequels suck? It's not rocket science. Here's an example. Joseph Adams as a character is completely invincible up until he impregnates Commander Adama's mother. Did I mention this looks boring? Also another bit o
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008) 2008-07-25 07:30:06 Also in the previous film the macguffin was simply White Castle (a burger joint that serves minisized burgers that to my surprise actually exists) and for a couple of stoners this is a realistic goal. This time around it is Kumar
's ex-girlfriend who conveniently is getting married and suddenly becomes the girl of Kumar's dreams. Slap on some flashbacks that aren't funny (outside of emo Harold
) and Read more:Escape

Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (2008) 2008-07-24 10:51:06 Of course the movie isn't perfect. It slows down big time in the middle and for you horror buffs the violence doesn't really go full blast until the last half hour. I also think they missed out on a great opportunity for some choice one-liners where Jack comes off as the strong violent type. In terms of tone if you're a fan of the Buffy television series you might get a kick out of this film as we Read more:Brooks

ScriptGirl Report for July 18th 2008-07-24 07:10:06 Anyone else hear somewhere how Mike White was apparently crying (in a bad way) when he wrote the sequel to School of Rock?
POP: Is barack Obama Neo or just Moses? 2008-08-11 07:30:53 McCain is sure digging one hell of a deep hole(maybe he is tunneling to North Korea). Funny how this attack ad says more about the attacker than the one who is attacked(Barack Obama
). Last time I checked it was McCain who is from the Bible belt...
POP: Anthrax Attacks an Inside Job? 2008-08-10 07:30:15 Is the Bush Administration beginning to look like the Hindenburgh? This definately does not bode well for Mr. McCain.
POP: The Olympics are a Trap 2008-08-09 07:30:43 I know this is hilarious but is anyone else other than me expecting something really bad to happen during the Beijing Olympics
? Yeah, I'm a pessimist.
POP: Triumph at Comic-Con 2008-08-08 07:30:53 This one is sort of self explanatory. Triumph the Insult Comic
Dog (from the Late Show with Conan O'Brien) goes to the San Diego Comic Convention and insults every person he sees. The best has to go to the Bomberman fan who is there to play Pokemon.
POP: Pot Dealer’s Tragic Choice Ended in Death 2008-08-07 07:30:02 It's not really funny, but it is ironic to know that marijuana has not ever killed a person... except when police are involved. This story is tragic and likely to make you angry. And an FYI: The baggy she was busted on weighed a quarter-pound which amounts to about 4 ounces. Rachel Hoffman was killed as an informant and her murderers were not apprehended until later. Anyone else think the police s Read more:Dealer

POP: ScriptGirl Report for August 1st 2008 2008-08-06 07:30:07 Great! Another Fast & Furious type movie. I thought the horse was dead. Oh right they're still beating the $%^& out of it. Read more:August
Meet Bill (2007) 2008-08-05 10:30:38 I decided to check out Meet Bill after seeing Eckhart as Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight. It is not like I didn't admire his work previously, but I needed the Harvey Dent role to convince me to check out Meet Bill with its two directors (usually a recipe for disaster) and its atrocious poster. Of course once I was informed of the film's casting I would even say I was excited to see Meet Bill.
POP: Edgar Allen Poe reads the Raven 2008-08-04 07:30:00 I've been seeing this style of animation quite a bit lately. If you find this at all interesting I also recommend the free animated comic of the Watchmen now available on Itunes. Read more:Edgar

POP: Red Alert 3 Camp Trailer 2008-08-27 18:14:22 I used to be a fan of the Red Alert
series and Command & Conquer as well, but I am starting to feel they no longer 'get the game'. Getting some from Jennifer McCarthy is not a reward. It's a punishment. Read more:Trailer
POP: Toxic Avenger ‘Carnality’ 2008-08-24 22:28:38 Unfortunately I did not make it to the Lloyd Kaufman Q&A at this year's FanExpo in Toronto, but I felt this scene from Toxic Avenger
was appropriate none the less.
POP: The Geometry Wars Song 2008-08-23 07:00:24 I figured my nemesis (yes, I know who you are) would appreciate this. I kinda feel bad for the guy. I though the green buggers in Geometry
Wars 2 were some of the easiest in this Xbox Live Arcade game.
POP: Baracky 2 2008-08-22 07:00:46 Sometimes people who are into politics have too much time on their hands. It makes me wonder if someone in the Democratic party was paid (or paid for) to have this made. As funny as it is disturbing. I always knew Hillary was a dude.
POP: Team Fortress 2’s ‘The Sandvich’ 2008-08-21 07:00:12 If you haven't been keeping up the good ole boys at Valve and Steam are having another free weekend along with the new Heavy Update. Enjoy the Sanvich! Read more:Fortress

POP: John Carpenter’s The Thing With GI JOE Figures 2008-08-20 07:00:44 Wow! Talk about an attention to detail. I don't even want to fathom how much time they had to put into this recreation of John Carpenter
's The Thing
. I'm really impressed with the snow effects and general set pieces. This easily the best film recreation I have ever seen with action figures and these days that is saying quite a lot. Great work from Simon Gesrel and Xavier Ehretsmann. Read more:Figures
POP: Quentin Tarantino destroys Uppity Film Critic 2008-08-18 07:00:00 This video is a little on the old side, going way back to the release of Kill Bill, and I am totally on QuentinTarantino
's side on this one. I watch some really graphically violent stuff as a kid and I handled it fine. Heck, my family often had to take me because most of the films I enjoyed were R-Rated (Thanks to my Granny for that 3-D screening of Freddy's Dead and The Crow!). If kids can't ha Read more:Uppity
