Roethlisberger...Need I Say More?
2008-08-04 23:19:30
I feel there alot of people that take an overall look at NFL Quarterbacks and put the top three at Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and anyone but Big Ben Roethlisberger. I see those teams with those certain quarterbacks building up an all-star lineup so their quarterbacks can excel. I think the greatest attribute of Roethlisberger is the fact that we don't have to do that. We can give him any old recei

Friday, July 25, 2008 By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The Steelers came to contract terms today with their top two draft picks and will have all their picks signed to contracts when they open training camp Sunday in Latrobe. Running back Rashard Mendenhall, the team's first-round draft choice, came to terms on a five-year deal. Wide receiver Limas Sweed, their second-round choice, ag

A Look At Bloom
2008-07-29 21:10:58
Most teams overlook Jeremy Bloom simply because of his size, but I fully believe that if he had not qualified for the Olympics and had issues getting reinstated into the NCAA football, he might have had a higher spot in the draft. He had some pretty intense records and stats while he played college ball. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2006, but was looked at by the Steeler

Sepulveda Is Lost!
2008-07-29 20:41:44
Well, I know he is just a punter, but in my opinion, it is a huge loss and a key injury for the season, hopefully it is the only loss. Daniel Sepulveda showed his worth in his rookie campaign and we will most definitely miss him in this upcoming season. Ring Mistake?
2008-07-24 01:01:14
This amazes me that no one in the Steelers organization has ever recognized this error. It is really impressive. With the era we went through with all those Superbowl wins, not one single employee, player, owner, or coach ever took the time to really look at what they had. It makes me wonder how many Superbowl championship teams are now telling their people to take a good look at their rings. Who

Steeler Nation

So, I saw that the terrible towel made it to Beijing, so I decided to look for other places where the great piece of art ended up. I was amazed by the number of pictures popped up in an easy search, but I was wondering where else it goes. Here is what I found so far:What I am shooting for is that if you have pictures of you with a terrible towel, I would like to post it so we can show what a Steel

John Challis RIP 19 Aug 2008
2008-08-19 18:52:31
This young man has inspired many in the shortest amount of time. John Challis was at home when he died today at the age of 18 from cancer. He was given 6 months to live in 2006 when he was diagnosed with liver cancer. John was a close friend to all the Pittsburgh sports organizations, the Pirates, Penguins, and the Steelers. It is a sad day for not only John's family, but all of Pittsburgh. There h

A New Igloo
2008-08-17 19:07:56
Well, it has been a couple days since the groundbreaking ceremony and I have had a chance to gather my thoughts. There a couple of key things that came out of it all that made me really think of what went on to get where we are today. Some political posturing, some deceiving, and in the end, just what we needed. It seems as though alot of people were upset with his tactics. I think he knew our tea

Batch Is Injured, Who Backs Up Ben? Byron Leftwich!
2008-08-10 22:25:41
So, early into this great preseason, Charlie Batch gets seriously injured."With Mewelde Moore in the backfield with Batch, there seemed to be a miscommunication on a running play. Instead of handing the ball off, Batch kept it and ran over the left side of the line for a 6-yard gain where he was tackled by Eagles safety Sean Considine." -Steelers.comBatch ended up breaking his collarbone. 9/11...Remember
2008-09-10 23:26:17
Out of all the things that have happened in US history, I do not believe any have impacted us as severely as what occured in New York City on September 11, 2001. You may be asking, "What does this have to do with Pittsburgh?". I will tell you. This event defined a generation. I hear often, "before 9/11 it was like this, before 9/11 it was like that", it shows how much things are different. I think

Game 1 Analysis
2008-09-08 22:22:03
That whole concern if the ownership is going to be a distraction apparently doesn't fade the Steelers. In front of a 300th consecutive sellout crowd, including playoffs, the Steelers defeated the Houston Texans soundly 38-17. All Steeler fans can look at this game in two different ways: We played incredible against an alright team or we played like we were supposed to against an inferior opponent.

The official first game of the football season has occured. Grant it, it wasn't the best of games, but it was a game none the less. I am so looking forward to see how the Steelers do I can barely stand it! The big thing that sucks is that I am going to miss Sunday's game because I have training in the Army this weekend. Trust me, I wasn't a happy camper when I found out! I am hoping for a ton of a

Cowboys? The First America's Team? I Don't Think So!
2008-09-05 17:41:10
So, I was on the Steelers Forum the other day and in passing read that the Steelers were the first pick in the "America 's Team" draft. I was shocked and excited all at the same time. Apparently Dan Rooney stated that we were not "America's Team", we were "Pittsburgh's Team". He didn't want to hear any of that. He didn't want to be America's team, he wanted to be just Pittsburgh's team. I feel so m

Fumbling Solution
2008-08-26 13:35:11
Hopefully, this is the last two fumble game we will see. Apparently our team is coming together to keep the fumbling down to a minimum. I say it is a brilliant idea. Grant it, Mendenhall hasn't played enough to have a reputation for fumbling, but the team feels it is not a good idea for him to gain one while it is a fixable trait. The team has put together a game of sorts, making Mendenhall the ce

Game 4 Analysis

It wasn't very pretty, in fact, if I wasn't a huge fan, I would have given up on this team before halftime. I kept thinking, finally, halftime, maybe we can regroup. Apparently alot went down in that locker room. Ben Roethlisberger addressed the offense and then asked the coaches if he could go no-huddle. Typically, when nothing is going good, you don't just go no-huddle. If the other team is conf

Patriotism...
2008-09-28 00:02:55
I am not typically a very political person or politically correct for that matter. I see many problems outside the economy with our country right now. We have lost our pride in who we are, what we are, and what we do. Back in the day, we had pride because we didn't have to watch everything we did and said. Now we do anything "controversial" and we are in danger of losing our jobs or our bank acco

Game 3 Analysis
2008-09-26 13:15:44
I figured I owed you all this much, as bad as they are. They are the stats from the Last game. The few bright spots are Polamalu's interception, his third of the year which ranks him second in the NFL in that category. We also have six total for the season which is over half of our total of eleven from last year. Our defense held the powerful Eagles offense to just 65 yards on the ground. We are a
