Woohoo!

I Started painting my kitchen wall. Pretty nuts and extremely fun. A funny story: yesterday I was thinking back and forth about going to see "Canned Heat", one of my favourite bands of old, but the last time I had seen them had been so annoying that I renounced. But I remained tempted to go until about 11pm when I finally opted to watch a DVD I had just fetched from the DVD rent shop. And would you believe the movie started with "Fried Hookie Boogie" by Canned Heat?

My very first acrylic painting: My brother and his son Max

This is my first go at acrylic painting. Before that, I usually painted either with oil, which is very grateful when it comes to modelling the shapes and colours, due to its slow drying ability, or with water colour which has exactly the opposite features. The great thing about water colour is that you can just put away your brushes when finished and turn to someting else, as to oil, you always have to clean up after you worked and the smell of turpentine can make you dizzy. As to acrylic, it is right in the middle between the properties of both oil and water colourl. It dries fast, does not smell, is a bit blunt and shallow compared to oil, which always looks great and colourful. You have to work fast as the paint litterally dries under your brush. Anyway. I took the original photo to this picture with my mobile phone at the Berlin Starbucks and instantly planned on turning it into an acrylic painting. It is still quite unfinished for now. I'll certainly have to rework both faces, bu

Nice rack!

I had spotted this small rack in the frontyard of the house where my girlfriend lives a few days ago. Yesterday, I took it home with me, took it apart, removed some awfully sticky simili-wood (wood-be, so to say) pvc that someone had glued on it and removed the glue residues with turpentine. Then I proceeded to glue some pieces of newspaper on it with the help of thinned acrylic glue, and finally screw some flat wire in the back so it could safely be hung on the wall. I'm quite proud of the result. I should have made a pic of how it looked before though..

Up and running
2007-02-21 14:00:00
Basically, the feed is up and running . I do it all by hand at the moment, which means that I have to do almost everything twice: write to the website, then to the rss document, or vice-versa. Quite primitive. And of course... no comments. I'm still researching on that.

Hello world!
2007-02-20 14:00:00
Not much stuff at the moment. This is intended to become a sort of feed. If I can figure out how it's done. Originally, this was called "art". Then "drawing/painting/photos". Lastly, I intended to call it "vuilnisbak" which is flemish for trashcan, but now it's called "stuff". I hope I won't be too lazy/busy to update it once in a while.
