we do pray for the real Moshiach's arrival in all our daily prayers, it would promote doing additional Mitzvos and could hasten his arrival.A local Lubavich Rabbi showed me a letter, written by the REBBE, stating very clearly that it is prohibited to speculate on the identity of Moshiach.
