Come See Party Cove
2007-03-19 13:39:00
Party Cove, located in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri is one of the wildest adventure spots in the United States. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, every weekend is a party at Party Cove. If you are not hip on seeing scantily clad men and women or wet and wild adventures, then you may want to avoid Party Cove during each weekend of the summer season. Otherwise, the area is in a serene setting backed by the beauty of Lake of the Ozarks. The water party spot is located in Osage Beach. You cannot get there with the help of maps, unless they are homemade, but in the summer, you simply cannot miss finding this location. If you plan to boat to the Cove, you will just need to head over to the Grand Glaize Bridge. As you approach, if you do not see the party going on, then you will be able to hear it for sure. From the bridge, you will be able to see hundreds (or thousands) of boats, heading at regulated speeds (just because it can get so wild) to a pre-determined location on the Lake. At the p

Chocolate, Cowbells & Cable Cars Swizerland and Italy
2007-03-13 11:19:00
Planes, trains, motorcoaches, boats, cable cars, gondolas, lake steamer, funicular, cog wheel train and ferry were our modes of transport. We were 60 singles with 124 bags who came, who saw, who conquered Switzerland & Italy . Aside from the traffic delays of high holiday season, it went without a hitch. No lost passports and no one lost. It was a whirlwind vacation but my theory has always been carpe diem per dollar, that is to squeeze in all experiences possible enroute of any journey. After all, travel is intensified living as we attempt to absorb the maximum thrills per minute. (When I compare this to my Suzy's Taste of Europe trip 11 years ago, this was easy. We then did 6 countries in 7 days, like The Amazing Race.)In charming Lucerne, we were led on a walking tour of Old Town followed by a welcome dinner of Swiss fondue. There was a folklore show which provided us the opportunity to blow an alpine horn. At the end of the evening was a yodeling contest where the bold wailed out

The Midland Hotel in Manchester
2007-03-13 02:18:00
It's the place where Rolls first met Royce, and has been a Manchester legend since it was built in 1903, but the Midland Hotel is showing no signs of falling behind the times. It may have been slightly eclipsed by the new giants of The Lowry Hotel and Radisson Edwardian in recent years, but a massive restoration project that began in 2004 has breathed new life into the Midland. This grand hotel was originally built by the Midland Railway Company to provide respite for weary business travellers, which is why a hotel in Manchester is called The Midland. As one of the most familiar buildings in Manchester city centre, I'm well used to looking at the exterior of The Midland, usually whilst waiting, waiting, waiting for a tram in St Peter's Square. So I couldn't really have any first impressions walking up to the hotel, but the entrance and lobby area are exactly what you would hope for and expect. High ceilings, mirrors, stately furnishings and lots of class are what you get when you wal

Using Your Credit Cards Whilst on Holiday
2007-03-09 10:46:00
More and more holiday makers are taking their credit cards on holiday with them to pay for goods rather than carrying large amounts of foreign currency. Of course this offers great convenience and at times added security but there important steps you should take to ensure that using your credit card abroad is not too costly and of course safe. Before you go on your holiday contact your credit card issuer to ensure that you will be able to use your card where you are going. Also take this opportunity to enquire about any charges or fees you may be charged when using your card in order to avoid any nasty shocks when your statement arrives. You should check several weeks before you go away that all the cards you are taking are current (ie. not going to expire whilst you are away), that the signature is clear on the back of the card and that you know all relevant PIN (personal identification number) numbers. The UK banking industry claims that losses from credit and debit cards, issued in Br

Vacating is Extremely Important
2007-03-07 09:15:00
For those out there who believe that going on vacation is only to offer yourself some time to relax and be entertained, allow me to rectify your misconception. There are at least three reasons why you should vacate and have to do with keeping your physical and psychological state fit.Experts state that going on vacation should not be considered a luxury, since it is actually something your body and mind desperately need in order to continue functioning as you expect. Since the ancient times, people have realized the importance of staying healthy and fit by temporarily stopping their working habits and letting their bodies and minds relax. The human organism needs a period to recuperate from the stress and anxieties of the fast-paced living standards we all experience today and reactivate its senses by exposing them to a variety of stimuli. But most importantly, our bodies and minds need time to "heal" from the damages and discomforts we have been causing to them during the year by not

We set out with a group of 38 singles and as usual they were initially timid but quickly bonded in friendship. On arrival in Lima we check into a lovely hotel located in trendy Miraflores district. There was a guided city tour, leisure time to explore and a delicious dinner of sea bass ceviche at a restaurant built on an ocean pier.Next day we flew Lan to Iquitos where we were greeted by 3 top guides who remain with us for our 6 days in the jungle. They are truly pro's on flora, fauna and having fun! All transport is by boat. 90 miles down river we arrive to Explonapo Lodge in the heart of Amazon ia. No plumbing or electricity, feels like an episode out of "Survivor." Rustic to the extreme yet therein lies the unique charm.I fell in love with the resident "pets". There was Adrian the toucan who would poke his long beak into the dining room door for a treat, along with several tame parrots and scarlet macaws. Charlie was a Capybara that looked like a mutant 100lb. guinea pig. When I'd

The Next Generation Airline Distribution System
2007-03-31 10:34:00
Travel distribution is for many an obscure segment of the travel industry. When audiences hear the word distribution they usually think of shipping or transport. It is quite inaccurate however to compare the role of travel distribution companies to the role of shipping companies. Unlike product distribution, information distribution is as much about packaging and labeling as it is about transportation. When it comes to airline products, the information that the distribution systems (GDS) are packaging today, for either direct consumers or industry professionals, is reducible to three categories: schedules, availability, and pricing. None of the GDS show information at the point of sale about all of the other qualitative differentiators. The definition of onboard service is entirely left to one's imagination or experience. In all fairness, today's GDS were originally designed to automate the selling of airline tickets by reservation agents and then later travel agents. All they nee
