http://www.j-lou.com Three steps to a happier life Women’s Fitness By Debbie Gisonni on AOL.com Find out how to improve your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being to create a happier new you Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is - why you’re really here? What if I told you the real purpose of your life is to enjoy it? Therefore your destiny is simply to have a happy life. I know that sounds like a fairy tale, and unless you’re a Disney princess, it seems impossible, but if you watch any TV these days, you know anything is possible with the right makeover. A happiness makeover, however, is a little different than the extreme TV makeovers because it involves not only the physical but the emotional and spiritual parts of you as well. Physical well-being is anything that improves the physical: your body, your surroundings. It’s what you can see. Emotional well-being is anything that makes you feel good inside. And spiritual well-being is

WWW.J-LOU.COM Dame Helen is queen of small screen Oscar winner Dame Helen Mirren picked up yet another award on Tuesday night, but for once it was not for her stately portrayal of the Queen.  The actress lined up at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards where she was crowned best actress for her role as Det Supt Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect. Coronation Street won best soap at the prestigious ceremony, beating rivals Emmerdale and The Bill, with Eastenders not even nominated.  Corrie star Kym Ryder was at the London ceremony to pick up the award. But they proved two rare triumphs for ITV. The broadcaster won just four awards out of 28, while the BBC swept the board with 18.  Stephen Merchant beat Catherine Tate to the best comedy performance award for his role as a useless showbiz agent in Extras. Ricky Gervais, who wrote and starred in the series, was not nominated. Last year’s Royle Family special The Queen of Sheba won two awards - best comedy drama and best w

The Great Global Warming Scandal
2007-03-13 15:19:22
WWW.J-LOU.COM The Great Global Warming Scandal Global warming labeled a ’scam’ By Al Webb THE WASHINGTON TIMES March 6, 2007   LONDON — With a packet of claims that are almost certain to defy conventional wisdom, a television documentary to be aired in Britain this week condemns man-made global warming as a myth that has become “the biggest scam of modern times.”  The program titled “The Great Global Warming Scandal” and set for screening by TV Channel 4 on Thursday dismisses claims that high levels of greenhouse gases generated by human activity causes climate change. Instead, the program suggests that the sun itself is the real culprit.      The documentary, directed by filmmaker Martin Durkin, is at odds with scientific opinion as outlined in a United Nations report in February, which blames mankind for global warming.      In his program, Mr. Durkin rejects the concept of man-made climate change, calling it “a lie &helli

WWW.J-LOU.COM Project Catwalk Series 2 Week 10 Final The 32-year-old nightclub promoter from Walsall beat 11 other contestants to win the £20,000 cash prize, an exclusive deal to produce a range of clothes for Designers at Debenhams and a full fashion feature in Grazia Magazine. To secure the title Wayne and fellow finalists Monika Rene, 26, and Luke Youngblood, 19, spent 10 weeks preparing a 12-piece fashion collection to showcase at the final.  Wayne’s monochromatic collection of 12 outfits, including two pieces carved from aluminum, earned him the respect and admiration of the show’s judges and marked him out as the rightful winner of the title ‘Fashion’s Next Big Thing’. Wayne’s win was attributed to his amazing eye for detail and exceptional sewing skills, both of which were clearly on display in the dresses he sent down the catwalk. A genuinely exhausted Wayne was delighted by his win, especially as he had been up all night hand-finishing the collection; a number

Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show http://www.rockyhorror.co.uk/ Theatre Royal Norwich   Not for the straight laced or non liberal minded, take heed of the title. From the moment you arrive, you wait and shiver with anticipation, surrounded by a great turn out of stilettos, fishnet stocking and of course do not forget the basques and mad hair.   The atmosphere was electric and it’s a shame that we don’t dress and have this kind of attitude towards each other every day.   You are warned at the beginning that no lighter waving, no water, rice or card throwing is to take place as one happy transvestite found out.   The show opens with the usherette singing science fiction, who also plays Magenta (Claire Parish), as the curtain rises to the wedding scene Brad (Richard Meek) and Janet (Sarah Boulton) are introduced.   The phantoms are cleverly used as set arranges who play an intricate part of backing singers and merge into the set so you barely notice them changing the scenes around.

WWW.J-LOU.COM   Summer and Sun   The damaging effects of sunlight are well known, but did you know some safe exposure to the sun is good for you? Our bodies need a certain amount of sunlight to manufacture vitamin D. In fact, ultraviolet radiation from the sun is the body’s main source of the vitamin, which is needed for healthy bones, muscles and immune system. The healthy effects of sunlight Although over-exposure to the sun puts you at risk of skin cancer, recent studies suggest that small amounts of sunlight actually help to protect us from some cancers, such as cancer of the breast, colon, ovary, bladder, womb, stomach and prostate gland. Changes In Income Tax
2007-03-22 14:18:10
WWW.J-LOU.COM  Chancellor Gordon Brown has defended the changes in income tax in the Budget as “about being fair to people”.  In his 11th and almost certainly final package delivered on Wednesday, Mr Brown sprung a surprise by announcing a 2p cut in the headline rate of income tax.  But opposition parties were quick to denounce the centrepiece measure as a “con”, claiming that scrapping the bottom 10p rate would offset the benefits taxpayers received from the cut.  Speaking on GMTV, Mr Brown insisted the Budget would give more money to health, education, families and pensioners.  “I think what we’ve tried to do is make sure health and education have the money, while at the same time be fair to people, and the tax reform is about being fair to people. I think with having the two rates now it is going to be better for the future,” he said.  “The purpose of these changes is to do the best by this country. This was the time to make the

http://www.j-lou.com/   Episode 8 http://wags.itv.com/episode.php Tuesday, 20 MarchWith Better Half leading 3-2, can Bows equalise this week? As the girls meet at the offices of advertising maestro, Trevor Beattie, they discover that their challenge this week is the hardest so far. Trevor Beattie is the man responsible for the head-turning ‘Hello Boys’ Wonderbra campaign and his challenge is for the girls to design a campaign for their boutique. The only requisite is that it has to feature photos of all the girls. Other than that, it is a clear brief. As boutique managers this week, Elle (Better Half) and Krystelle (Bows) choose who will face the challenge. Elle nominates Jadene and herself as the two strongest candidates whilst Krystelle (via Nokia mobile because she’s running behind schedule) nominates Nicola T and Madeleine. As the challengers stay in the agency offices to storm ideas for their campaigns, the others head back to the boutiques where Better Half receive their

Animal activist wants cuddly Knut killed
2007-03-21 14:33:26
WWW.J-LOU.COM Berlin Zoo’s abandoned polar bear cub Knut looks cute, cuddly and has become a front-page media darling, but an animal rights activist insists he would have been better off dead than raised by humans.  “Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws,'’ animal rights activist Frank Albrecht was quoted as saying by the mass-circulation Bild daily, which has featured regular photo spreads tracking fuzzy Knut’s frolicking.  “The zoo must kill the bear,'’ Mr Albrecht said.  When Knut - or “Cute Knut'’, as the 19 pound bear has become known - was born last December, his mother ignored him and his brother, who later died.  Zoo officials intervened, choosing to raise the cub themselves. The story prompted quick condemnations from politicians and other animal rights groups.  “The killing of an animal has nothing to do with animal protection,'’ said Wolfgang Apel, head

GORDON THE DECEIPTER
2007-03-24 14:01:39
Gordon Brown Just Loves Payday !!!!!! The Conservatives today renewed their assault on Gordon Brown’s 11th and final budget, dubbing it a “con trick“. In the most eye-catching performance since Nigel Lawson in 1988, (ouch!) the Chancellor appeared to wrong-foot his Tory opponents with a promise to reduce income tax by 2p next year - the lowest rate for 75 years. But George Osborne, the shadow chancellor, today told the BBC Radio 4 Today programme that Mr Brown had confused the electorate into thinking that taxes were coming down. “Their income tax bill went up yesterday and I don’t think after listening to that Budget they would have thought that,” he said. “No-one listening to the Budget yesterday would have worked out that the whole thing is a con trick.” Mr Brown this morning defended his performance, (he would wouldn’t he) denying it was misleading and claiming it was “nonsense” to suggest that he was taking a

Kerry’s Wedding A sham
2007-03-27 17:21:23
WWW.J-LOU.COM     Kerry ’s wedding “sham” Ah, we can still remember exactly what we were doing when we heard Brian McFadden had left Westlife: we were reading a tabloid story about Brian McFadden leaving Westlife. Since that fateful day, the Irish crooner has split from wife Kerry Katona, found romance with ever-fragrant Aussie Delta Goodrem, and enjoyed slightly less solo pop success than Steve Brookstein from X Factor. Quite frankly, we’d started to forget he’d ever existed - but that all changed today. Because our Brian’s back in the headlines with a startling revelation. The lowdown? His wedding to Kerry was a sham! “It wasn’t a real wedding,” he says, of the 2002 ceremony, which was covered in great depth by Hello! magazine. “We were getting married to have a big party and get loads of money for it and to appear showbiz. My marriage ended on the stag night.” Erm… remind us what happened on the stag night ag

WWW.J-LOU.COM BEIJING (Reuters) - The world’s tallest man, whose search for a bride covered the world, ended up marrying a woman from his home town nearly half his age and more than two feet shorter, Chinese media reported on Wednesday.    Bao Xishun, 56, a 2.36-metre (7-ft, 9-inch) herdsman listed by Guinness World Records as the tallest living man, married a 29-year-old saleswoman, the Beijing News said. Both come from Chifeng in Inner Mongolia.  “After sending out marriage advertisements across the world and going through a long selection process, the efforts have finally paid off,” the newspaper said.  It was the first wedding for Bao and his bride, Xia Shujuan, a mere 1.68 metres (5 ft 6 inches) tall.  Bao reached his height in a seven-year spurt that began in his teens and which doctors have yet to explain, according to Guinness.  After a career in the army, where he was recruited for a basketball team, he returned to Inner Mongolia. London Tube Skier
2007-03-28 14:50:38
WWW.J-LOU.COM  London Underground (LU) has condemned the action of a stuntman who skied down a Tube escalator.  Norwegian Peter Olenick hurtled down a 300ft escalator at Angel station in north London in a filmed display which was shown on the internet.  LU said: “This is a dangerous, stupid and irresponsible act that could have resulted in serious injury or death to not only the individual concerned but also other passengers.  “LU will press for the police to take the strongest possible action against anyone attempting a similar act on the Tube network.”  The film of the stunt was shot from a camera in the man’s helmet.  The producer of the film said other people were not in danger as friends of the stuntman had warned passengers away.  British Transport Police is understood to be looking into the incident.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFqQOlYE4EE   http://www.j-lou.com/section/0/womens-fitness

WWW.J-LOU.COM   Episode 9 http://wags.itv.com/episode.php Tuesday, 27 March There are just five challenges remaining and with the score 4-2 to Better Half, this week’s task is more crucial than ever. As the girls gather for their meeting, one WAG is absent as Charlotte (Better Half) is ill. But the girls refuse to let it deter them which is just as well as the challenge is an especially hard one - to sell a range of Isabella Oliver maternity wear for just one day. It will require all the skills they’ve learnt so far and more than a bit of hard work. But, as Jadene (Better Half) and Nicola T (Bows) are revealed as this week’s shop managers, there is a twist and it is one that the girls were definitely not anticipating. For this challenge, the managers will be swapping shops with Nicola taking on the Better Half boutique and Jadene in charge of Bows (and with it, the handful that is Michaela!) There is one other rule this week - the managers can’t nominate th

Angels And Pennies From Heaven
2007-03-28 14:12:31
I found a penny today laying on the ground. But it’s not just a penny, this little coin I’ve found.  Found pennies come from heaven, that’s what my Grandpa told me. He said Angels toss them down. Oh, how I loved that story. He said when an Angel misses you, they toss a penny down; Sometimes just to cheer you up, to make a smile out of your frown. So, don’t pass by that penny when you’re feeling blue. It may be a penny from heaven that an Angel’s tossed to you. So now pass this on to people you care about and who you feel are Angels to you. I just did. An Angel is now watching over you. Have A Great Day!
