Hitting Home

Yesterday I saw Pisay the Movie on what can be considered as a field trip for the sophomores, the juniors and the seniors of PSHS. What can I say? The movie hit home. Other than it was far better than I expected, it summarized what high school really was: a time to grow up and mature in whatever situations one is faced. It also gave me hope to continue what I really decided I would want to do

This is morning That's when I spend the most time Thinking 'bout what I've given up This is a warning When you start the day just to close the curtains You're thinking 'bout what I've given up Where are you now? As I'm swimming through the stereo I'm writing you a symphony of sound Where are you now? As I rearrange the songs again This mix could burn a hole in anyone But it was you I was

Failure

They tell you that you've failed when you don't meet the numbers expected of you. What failure is was never really taught to us in the academe. Of course, there are quizzes and exams wherein one falls short of the required percentage of correct answers. There are numbers in evaluation sheets that are abyssmal and there are the rankings with one's name somewhere at the bottom half. Is that

9 Days

Nine days to IDeA LITE, and we haven't trained since the last week of July. Well, we can't really do anything about that because it's a school policy that all trainings and extra-curricular activities are suspended a week before the periodic exams. If I'm not mistaken, we weren't even supposed to train that week! And supposedly, we were to train yesterday afternoon and later today but because of

On August 30, Himig Agham will perform at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo for the Alumni Homecoming Concert. :) Yay. This means that on the 29th, from 5:00-8:00 rehearsals will be conducted there. Meaning I have half the day off. On the 30th, from 1-4 we have dress and technical rehearsals and from 6:30-10:00, we'll be there at the concert. Yeah! A valid excuse from classes... That is

Nerdiness and Other Things
2007-08-17 05:22:00
Never in my 3 years and 3 months of high school was I called a nerd until yesterday. Proof of nerdiness according to Meynard: 1. Thick librarian glasses as seen on my Friendster profile 2. A History of the World by M. Perry 3. Two debate notebooks: one for matter and one for analyses 4. The Once and Future King by T.H. White 5. A 1GB Flash disk on my neck 6. the fact that I DID spend the

It may not be in the order of grand schemes conducted by God but by foolish mortals. Still that does not mean that it is far from the beauty that it is right now. The best times of our lives need not be perfect or in order to be beautiful. This orderly chaos we find ourselves tossed up and about, this is the simplistic beauty of it all. In all the inconsistencies and constant fluxes, the

Shortage and Scarcity
2007-08-15 05:10:00
I wish I was just talking about economic concepts but I'm not. First of all, there is a scarcity of time for training and matterloading. With the academic workload hauled at us right now, no wonder very few seniors in previous batches take the time to debate. And right now, there is a scarcity of braincells for analyzing arguments. Next, there is a shortage of funds for Pisay's contingents to

Alright, I had to back out of the Alumni Homecoming performance of Himig Agham in the AFP theater because of external issues with regards to my extra-curriculars. I told some of my kids that I may have to just work on the sidelines, if not entirely back out of the organization, also of an organization I really want to fix up before I graduate. But I don't want to be forced to quit debate also.

They always told me that I was the underachiever. Even back in the GS days when all I did was study, eat, sleep, mope, sing, study, I really qualified under that guidance center list of underachievers. Back then it meant absolutely nothing to me because what the heck, I ace my classes anyway. That was what I've once thought and it has all come to this. In a world where statistics,

Subtle hints of what matter to us render themselves meaningless. They pale to what really has transpired between us, the lives we've affected, the rules we've broken, the changes we've made, the love we've held on to. Half a year has gone by since the end of our cruel games and the beginning of something, perhaps far greater than the plans we could ever come up with. But in
