Ideas from the Thought Pool
2007-05-23 01:01:00
I spent yesterday out with two really close friends of mine from my grade school, Noelle and Michael, around and about the Makati commercial and mall area. Much later in the day we were at the lounge of the Starbucks at Glorietta 2. Over some frappucinos and bread from Bread Talk, we began discussing a rather wide range of topics from Augustinian gossip to certain creatively debatable issues. [

A Moment of Contemplation
2007-05-21 09:54:00
You're here and that is all that matters. Such a short period of time is forever and we shall wait for the next one as it approaches. Stolen moments - they're never stolen to begin with. Reclaimed moments - that's more like it. They're ours. Nothing can stop us now from moving forward. In the meantime we half-heartedly pull in between us a veil of fiber-optics and lenses

A Common Half of Growing Up
2007-05-20 08:39:00
After the Sunday service. We're headed towards our car in the parking lot. For those who don't know - Kristian is the name of my only sibling. Here goes: A man steps out of his car Kristian: Hi, sir! Good morning. Man: Hi, Kristian.Later in the car... Me: Who's that? Kristian: He's Rejoice's dad. He was always around during the Christmas musical rehearsals. He's so supportive of her. Then I

The End of Everything Known part 1 of n
2007-05-19 01:31:00
Lately, I've been around talking to people I haven't seen in quite a long time. A lot of them have been doing great. They look better. They have rather interesting love lives and other tales to tell. They've mostly gone through some good times and tough times. Though what they've been through may differ from one story to the next, a lot of them aren't sure about life after high school. High

First Snowflake in the Land of Eternal Christmas
2006-12-21 23:09:00
It's only now that I've really felt Christmas . This fact hit me hust a while ago when I checked my e-mail and saw that I got a Christmas greeting card from Jay-Jay, a friend of mine from LA. To think that I come from a school that is off mostly at the end of the first week of December. Given this, buying presents as early as the last week of October should have gotten me already into the

Religious Philosophy
2006-12-08 08:00:00
You are an Atheist When it comes to religion, you're a non-believer (simple as that). You prefer to think about what's known and proven. You don't need religion to solve life's problems. Instead, you tend to work things out with logic and philosophy. What's Your Religious Philosophy ? owari

The End of Summer
2007-05-26 06:56:00
Summer rains now wash away the past months. Thunder and lightning streak across the night skies leaving the cold in its wake. The days are no longer as hot as they once were. Gone are the sultry nights and their remains in the wee hours of the morning. The lazily hot mornings strewn in the bright sunshine, beckoning on my wake are memories folded up and remade like bedsheets. Those days of

A Rift Between
2007-05-25 05:16:00
After taking up my copy of Sofies Verden [Sophie's World] for a bit of light reading, I've come to see that I stand at a rift of priorities. It has been long since philosophy departed from religion to give birth to science. But it has been quite a while as well since science defined its distinction from philosophy with hypotheses and proofs, instead of reasoning based on reason. Because of this,

For something light: Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz._____ On to other matters: Disclaimer: Before reading this, please take note that all my realizations were based on my observations and analyses and not proven fact. Flame me or wreck the last remaining 200++ days of my high school for what I've said but I won't give a f*ck about this. Thanks! :D Just a while ago my

Countdown to Zero Hour - 5
2007-05-29 06:32:00
Finally - and I mean it - I've found a layout I know I'll be comfortable with for the next 10 months. The first day of the last year of high school will begin on the 4th of June. However since I'm an intern [hopefully still], I have to check in the dormitory by the afternoon of the 3rd. Sigh. Old habits shall have to die the hard way, I suppose. Due to the policy of the school library to

The End of Everything Known part 2 of n
2007-05-28 07:15:00
A while ago I was at the MPPA for the final batch re-orientation program. Nothing special - at least for the kind of student with extreme limits for attention span - because it was the same lines and the same reminders about the grading system and the same questions of intrigue and school gossip. But one thing did strike me and so I'm going to discuss a bit on it here. Mrs Oblepias gave a

Summer Retrospection
2007-05-27 04:49:00
So it has come to pass. Summer has truly ended. I haven't accomplished the whole list I made last March. In fact no more than half was done. But I guess it's better than bumming around the whole summer. Though it's not much, I did accomplish to attend review classes and extra Math classes too. Also, I was able to feel emotions that truly made a human human - that made me feel more human than

Countdown to Zero Hour - 1
2007-06-02 02:07:00
Just as closure defines an interlude, if not the end of everything, this departure officially defines the end of this current lifestyle and the beginning of me carving out my future. I may not miss home and I doubt if I ever will. I know it's wrong to be quite cold with my family but I haven't been really anything in any other way. Maybe daily calls should do, I think. After all, this routine

Closure I realize that I've found the closure I needed from what I've been trying to run after for three years. At the same time I've come to see the reflection I've so long denied. Silly way of ending and beginning life, ne? But really! Though some will remember me for falling into infatuation with an unstable and arrogant genius and for the ridiculous chase of cat and mouse, I know this had

Countdown to Zero Hour - 3
2007-05-31 04:53:00
Today was spent on school work: cleaning out my room at the dorm, catching up with people I know and trust, filling up the UPCAT application forms. Nothing special really; it's just that I realized that I really want to take up BS Psychology in U.P. Diliman as a pre-med course. However because it's not a DOST approved course for science and technology, I'm stuck with applying for BS Bio in U.P.

Countdown to Zero Hour - 4

The last grueling enrollment process of my high school days has just passed. I would very much want to describe everything in detail however for my safety and the integrity of the people involved, I'll just leave clues. Probably you'll find them somewhere in the blogosphere someday. But seriously, here's a note to ponder on: If ever you're wondering as to why people you don't take to fancy are

CLE, High School, Thought Dissection
2007-06-08 07:41:00
This week was spent on a lot of things but what I've been pondering for the last few days is this: Why do kids now answer philosophical questions with text almost verbatim from a CLE book?!? Some of you now know about the Inkwell application forms and the first question asking for an explanation on the meaning of life. Of course I was expecting strange answers involving waffles and crap. I also

Sound of Silence
2007-06-10 21:48:00
I'm going to miss him terribly. I actually am right now and I know that we've defined the scope and limitations of what we can do for the time being. I promise I won't call and spend nights that way. He promised to sleep early and to study. College entrance exams loom with each passing day. The UPCAT for that matter is on the 4th of August and this means that I don't have weekends for anything

Darts, shotguns, social relevance
2007-06-09 06:57:00
After today's UPCAT review sponsored by the school, I spent around an hour discussing socially relevant topics with two of my former classmates. For the protection of the student's social rights I've decided not to disclose what has discussed as well as her stand on the issue brought about. However this is my blog and I see that I do see the need to say what I have to right now so I will. You

An Earth's Revolution and More
2007-06-16 05:30:00
It has been more than a year now. Every time I look at my right wrist, I see a brown bruise directly over a vein. No matter what I apply to it, it doesn't fade away. There may no longer be scars of cuts on that area but that scar still remains. Perhaps this is a reminder that I shouldn't give up, no matter how shitty life can get. True, it has been more than half a year since my last attempt to

Workload, Libraries, Short Notes
2007-06-23 05:20:00
In an attempt to keep this short, this week may seem like nothing happened when really a lot did. I haven't had a normal night's sleep. It's hot in the dorm and the bed is far from comfortable, unlike that I have at home. -_____- True subjects are far more difficult now but I shouldn't give up. Studying in Pisay was my choice to begin with and I should stick through especially now at the last

Of course these things were coming. Having dedica ted myself to 2 club presidencies, 3 club memberships and other commitments, I of all people should have been ready for all the consequences of my choices. People say that was stupid of me to do but I have my reasons - I just don't know how to manage my time. I made a commitment to Inkwell and I won't back down on the club I will help revive.

A Cat named Doggy
2007-07-13 10:41:00
Forgive me because I'm not in good shape. It was a cold and rainy Thursday night last week and there was a shivering and lonely stray kitten by the back lobby. Of course Kate, RC, Gero, Yana, and I couldn't help ourselves with such a cute thing. We gave it dinner but it came to a point that we decided to take care of it. Everyday, FLIMSY 8D [the barkada] would take shifts in taking the cat to

Maybe
2007-07-21 06:11:00
Maybe this is what it really means. Life has a way of putting you back on track especially when you start thinking you are just above everything for such a minute accomplishment. Classic way of putting it: a person has grown up and matured when he or she realizes that he or she has not yet grown up and matured. After months of being so self-assured that I thought I was so ready to take on

Subtle hints of what matter to us render themselves meaningless. They pale to what really has transpired between us, the lives we've affected, the rules we've broken, the changes we've made, the love we've held on to. Half a year has gone by since the end of our cruel games and the beginning of something, perhaps far greater than the plans we could ever come up
