Edward Bess Lipstick Line 2007-03-12 19:00:00 I had the good fortune to chat with Edward
Bess Saturday evening at BG's beauty event. Besides being a total cutie-patootie, he is one smart cookie. Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, a city I particularly love (they understand feminine there). He is immaculate and totally charming in that wonderful southern way, but don't think his cute factor deters at all from his business sense. At the age of 21, he has a wonderfully solid line that is well thought out and of thorough quality. Future plans include mascara, eye shadows and bronzer's.The lipstick line is chock full of beautiful and naturally flattering colors that are so soft and moisturizing. The line contains 15 lip products, five high-sheen lip glosses and 10 lipsticks. Previously only sold as a set, colors are now available individually. The lip products are lightly scented with wild fig, lovely! The lipstick contains vitamins A and E to act as antioxidants in addition to silicon to maintain a smooth finish. The lip glos Read more:Lipstick
BG...the restaurant 2007-03-11 03:15:00 So just returned from an evening at BG, picked up a beautiful red lipstick from Chanel, 'Passion' and then had dinner at BG--my favorite restaurant
in the city!!! It has such romantic views...Central Park, 5th avenue, the Plaza and all from the 7th floor...the decor is very deco 1920's and the atmosphere is wonderful....it just makes you feel a part of old New York...but in a very hip way!! I'm sort of a bore I always get exactly the same thing when I go, which is the fantastic 'steak au poivre' and their chocolate souffle cake for dessert. A perfect night!I would also suggest having afternoon tea there. Its the perfect interlude from shopping.Passion is from Chanel's new lipstick line; 'rouge allure'. It has that uber-cool gold tube with the tap-touch opening style. So sexy. The perfect red.Oh forgot to mention, Lucy Liu was also partaking in BG's gift card event, seen at the ShuUemura counter...She is as beautiful in person as in movies. Perfect skin.BG754 5th Avenue, 7th
New Balenciaga Motorcycle bag...HOT AND HEAVY?! 2007-03-09 22:00:00 BTW, I was at Barney's last night and took a look at the new BalenciagaMotorcycle
bags, which are the same as the old but with embellished, larger hardware/grommets in a gold weave (like a microphone mesh...). I LOVE the look but have to admit that for me (besides their obvious cool factor) one of the big draws of the bag was its light and versatile weight, and this new design while hot makes the new bags that much heavier and just over the threshold for me, weighing in as: TOO HEAVY.Balenciaga 542 W. 22nd St., New York, NY 10011 near Eleventh Ave. 212-206-0872
Bows 2007-03-09 14:00:00 I am so in love with bows, always have been, from hair, to bracelets to belts. I love the look. Inspired by my recent new collection of French hair bows from the 80's, I found the following to take inspiration from in Chanel's Spring and Fall 2007 collections:

Diane vonFurstenburg Dress 2007-03-07 06:35:00 I really love this look. I am always a fan of basic colors like black and white and especially paired together. This dress has all the essential components of Spring, light color-check, swing/tunic-check, pockets-check! And I love that you can wear it 2 ways, either alone, sweet and sexy or with pants, sophisticated and chic. DVF rocks, as always.Available at Bergdorf Goodman Read more:Diane
DiorShow Mascara 2007-03-07 03:54:00 When I find something that works I have to endorse it. Now I'm actually not a big mascara girl, mostly because it all seems to look like you are wearing mascara, flaking, clumping etc. I had heard some very good raves on DiorShow, and decided to try it after trying everything else. Guess what? Its as good as they say. I got it in the waterproof formula in 'Chestnut' (for an even more natural look). It went on amazing. No goopiness, no flaking, my lashes look better but totally natural. Longer, fuller but like they are my natural lashes. I'm won.Available at Sephora or any fine department store. Read more:Mascara
Wolford Polar Tights 2007-03-06 18:19:00 So despite the fact that we got two beautiful glimpses of spring in last weekend, today is apparently the coldest day since 1901. Time to pull out my winter dress wardrobe secret. Wolford's Polar
tights. These are amazing. They are warm and totally elegant and beautifully made. They make it possible to wear dresses and skirts in the winter cold and still be toasty. Beauty and warmth! I couldn't live without these. Now I share the secret with you.Another fun way to warm it up, is to wear boots with your dress and over the polar tights layer a very simple but beautifully knitted sock, preferably in black, muted gray, something subtle and elegant that peeks out just over the boot. This looks cool and keeps you warm.So get out there and wear those dresses!!Get it here or at Wolford boutique near you, or at most fine department stores. I know they carry them at BG, Jeffrey, Saks, Barneys, etc.Wolford122 Greene St., New York, NY, 10012at Prince St.212-343-0808 Read more:Tights

Chanel Spring 2007 Accessories 2007-03-05 05:05:00 I came across this black bucket/hobo bag from Chanel
that I am totally obsessed with, unfortunately I can't seem to find a photo for you...If you view the Chanel website under 'Spring
-Summer 2007 Act2', its no. 14. The bag below is quite similar. In lieu of that delivery I have put together a showcase of everything else that I love from spring/summer 2007 in accessories. I just adore Chanel's costume jewelry, it is absolutely SO fun and classy at the same time (and I might add highly collectible). Below find my favorites from the Ready to Wear show last fall in Paris....now that they are just becoming available in store...perfect timing: Read more:Accessories

Canadian Restaurant Opens in the MeatPacking District 2007-03-02 19:33:00 Yay, Poutine for everyone. Out of respect for my Canadian
roots I had to let you all know that the first Canadian Restaurant, The Inn LW12, has opened here in NYC. It's funny I was actually walking by last week, when I had popped into Pastis for lunch, and was wondering what all the commotion in and out of that space was, now we all know! The food sounds like it will be amazing, I'm looking forward to checking it out. Touted to be one of the next 'hot places'...supposedly its Canadian/British inspired...love it!The Inn LW127 Ninth Ave., at Little W. 12th St.; 212-206-0300 Read more:District

Anna Wintour on Blogs... 2007-03-17 00:46:00 From Page Six:March 16, 2007 -- ANNA Wintour is as picky with words as she is with her wardrobe. According to one Vogue-er, "They are expanding the Vogue Web site and getting more involved with the Internet. But Anna hates the word 'blog' so much, she refuses to call anything on her site a blog and has charged her staff with coming up with a new word that isn't as garish-sounding. She wants it ASAP - in time for launch." However, a source close to Wintour said, "Anna just doesn't want people to refer to stories as blogs, because they're not. It's an improper use of the word." A rep said, "Anna has nothing against blogs."Yay! Leave it to Anna Wintour to glamourize blogging. She is definitely the Queen of what's enVogue. Read more:Blogs
Rachel Zoe, Love her or Loathe her: Girl has Presence. 2007-03-16 22:20:00 Rachel Zoe (nee Rosenzweig) seems always to be at the epicenter of some gossip scene. Styling the likes of Kiera Knightley, Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and formerly Nicole Richie (who could forget their highly publicized split last fall), Ms. Zoe has garnered the respect of the fashion community while also raising eyebrows for her rather 'in the limelight' persona, running counter to what many believe should be a low-profile position as the stylist not the star.Zoe is featured in this weeks NY Times Thursday Styles section.
