How to install RAM in a Mac Book Pro 2007-03-08 22:34:54 aqua bear cd mem Don’t think me heartless for carrying on as usual. I just wanted to post this to give people an idea on how to upgrade their mac’s ram. As you will see over the next few posts I’ve been keeping myself busy. I’ve also made a new layout which you can see. More on that in upcoming posts. Though in theory this ‘tutorial’ applies to every laptop. Just ensure you have the right ram and then undo every screw until you find where it goes. Trust me, thats the way the professionals do it.
I’m not as good as this tutorial because I didn’t make a video of it, but if I’m honest it wouldn’t make for interesting viewing because halfway through I went home and then it took me 4 hours to get the last screw out, by which time you’d have gotten bored.

Why the emo/personal crap? I broke up with Rhys this evening. I’ll be honest because I feel I should be. I’ve been thinking about it for a while. He is an amazing guy, and any normal girl would kill to have someone like him, but as some of us know, I’m not any normal girl.

:) We arrived in london about half an hour apart, alas I didn’t beat Rhys, but then I didn’t really fancy hanging round north acton station tbh. We made our way to the hotel which was amazingly posh considering it was in an industrial estate! The Ramada Encore. We went upstairs and settled in and decided to go to the ‘wok around the world’ restaurant. Big mistake, Rhys obviously chose well in his meal but my steamed rice was bone dry and I nearly choked on it several times as a result and the piece of meat they chose? I might as well have eaten a whacking great lump of fat *shudders* the thought of it still makes me sick, but not as sick as I was the next day. Culture, O2 the extortioners and Wordpress themes 2007-02-23 14:51:21 aqua bear cd mem I havn’t really been in the mood for posting. I thought it best to refrain seeing as I would probably hurl abuse at people if i did, but this morning I woke up and although I felt like death on my way to my computer systems test I couldn’t help but smile. You could say that last night I had a eureka moment but it was blaringly obvious to be honest. So I’m happy today except about two things. One being this layout. It need something. It needs more details.
Secondly, my exibition photos are crap! I’m just so uninspired by them. At the rate I’m going I’ll have 3 photos and I said i’d do four!

I’m still standing! 2007-02-19 16:54:09 aqua bear cd mem Thank you to everyone who was so nice in my last entry :) I did have a bit of a headache but thats now reduced to the odd sharp pain in the side of my head and it hurts to laugh! (its a big bruise behind my left ear about an inch or two up from where the corner of your ear is.) I suppose the fact I keep poking it doesn’t help! Its similarly annoying that I cant even lie on it with out being in pain pain! I’m still convinced its not anything to do with seeing blood,.

I was meant to be going out with some people from my course but I got a text saying none of them could be bothered, fair enough because I’d just sat myself down in front of Jumanji which is much scarier than I remember it being! I was on msn for a bit and in the end some mates convinced me to go over to one of the colleges to celebrate for st.Patricks day as drinks were half price! (not that I bought any!) It stands for Really Simple Syndication and its the best thing since sliced bread. If your not using it your actually driving away readers. Put it this way. How many sites do you visit on a daily basis? You want to read all of your friends entries, but your not going to go to each and every page all the time are you!? Not if you’ve got as many feeds as I do! With RSS you go to one page, bloglines or if you already have a gmail account (and who doesn’t!) you can go to google.com/reader and start adding feeds. To get you started my feed URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/Eruanna (I use feed burner so I can manage my statistics.) The main advantage is that if you read those tween sites that use an awfully small font then you can actually read the posts in the feed reader.

Getting Old and Guys Real Reason! 2007-03-25 14:41:24 aqua bear cd mem I’ve decided I’m getting old before my time. I might be 19 but I certainly don’t act like it! Oh sure I get drunk every now and then but so do old people. Firstly the highlight of my weekends is on UKTV Bright Ideas at 12 oclock in the shape of James Martin. But its not just James Martin, I love Michael Robinson too but I can’t have him because hes on UKTV food and you can’t get that on freeview, grr. I love all cookery programs, I will watch UKTV food for hours at a time. This is all very weird considering I’m a really fussy eater, but James Martins food is the best!
The other reason I’m getting old is that my hips have gone! I can no longer sit cross legged or on the edge of my bed for the agony it’ll cause. I have knee problems already and this is just an extension of it. It was weird actually leaving the flat because I’ve not been outside for ages! Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and most of Wednesday will be spent in bed until I get dressed up as a school girl for school disco night! Thank god for socialising on the internet! I’m back! Not that I’d been anywhere mind! I’m just back at home, and what an eventful week its been at home! Even before I arrived!
On Thursday Smudge (my cat) didn’t come home, which is unusual as our cats lives are dictated by when their fed! So my mum was a bit worried, especially when she didn’t come home the next morning. When she went to take out the bins the next day out comes smudge, barely able to walk from under her car, my mum said it was pitiful. She was a right state. Normally shes a stubborn little mare but she was all pathetic and wimpy :(.
The vet examined her and gave her xrays etc, turns out well, I’ll draw you a diagram!
Only one of the ligaments on either side survived, the vet had to construct a new one using skin. (dont ask me how that works!) In between the joint the cartilidge has shattered and each of the two ligaments in the joint has snapped too. So her leg wasn’t being held Read more:October

Thank you to everyone wishing Smidgy good luck and all, its amazing less than two days after major reconstructive surgery and shes standing on that leg without a single wobble, she lifts it up now and then (presumably to relieve the pain) and shes even been trying to escape! Shes also started picking at her stitches so I think we’ll have to get a lampshade fitted to her collar again. I can’t look at them with a straight face when they have those on!

Some new projects 2007-04-06 21:00:06 aqua bear cd mem I’m working on some new projects One of which is a secret so shhh!
The other one is a new blog! yes yes I know I already have 2 (the other ones apricot13.org if you didn’t know!) but this ones just great! Everything I’ve always wanted. I tend to find lots of adorable artsy craftsy cute japanese things on the internet, things such as seven jeans and no ones interested in me spamming them with the links on msn so I made myself a new blog for it! I was on ebay and happened to find some adorable things there too but I thought I’d stick with shops for now. I’m not happy with the layouts available so I may put in a request for one of my themes to be made available or perhaps I could persuade one of you lovelies to put in a good word for me

Habari 2007-04-05 03:00:15 aqua bear cd mem I doubt many of you will have heard of Habari - I’ve been stalking it for quite sometime and eagerly awaiting some sort of code I could get my hands on! They’ve finally released a Developer Preview. I’m pretty excited about it!
I immediately set about installing on my local server. The installation was pretty quick because there isn’t that much to the program yet. Its heavily influenced by wordpress but this installation layout is something I think wordpress should consider adding to their install process, I’ve seen so many people put the database information in the wrong part of the wordpress config file. Even I’ve done it!
Thats the install done, next heres a few screenshots from the dash, post entry and the actual blog itself.

New layout, End of Easter and Cute Stuff 2007-04-09 21:23:17 aqua bear cd mem Those who visit my site instead of reading my RSS feed will have noticed the I have a new layout
up! Its not great but its green and its clean and simple, really all I did was change the main stylesteet and make the left column go on the right and expand the header by 100%!
If you look at my content page you’ll notice two new wordpress themes. Their not amazing, but their not supposed to be, their just ports of my livejournal layouts, once their done expect some creativity! I’ve also moved some things over to pages instead of posts.

I love easter! Its the best holiday, because its not cold like Christmas and not quite as commercialised (though thats debatable!) and theres bunnies everywhere! Those that know me well or have only known me for a second will know that I love kittens and bunnies and platypae and crocodiles!
I even got some easter eggs this year!! (last year we were in China so now easter egg for me )
All I’ve done today is sit in the garden and soak up the sun

Blog to Profit and Metro 2007-04-10 20:13:19 aqua bear cd mem You may have noticed I’ve been blogging rather a lot over the past week - thats because of Blog to Profit. Reorganising RSS, Design and COMPETITION! 2007-04-26 14:31:41 aqua bear cd mem Inspired by this I’ve decided to finally get around to organising my RSS feeds! If your not using RSS then you really should, and if its not on your site, then your missing out on a massive market - hardly anyone has time to visit your site most of the time RSS lets them read your posts and click through to comment (if their so inclined) all from one page and without having to remember urls!. Heres the really simple guide to syndication. (RSS savvy - see what I did there!?)
I started off by exporting my RSS feed as am XML file by going to my account > import/export and clicking export as OPML file. The xml file was saved to my desktop.
I’m not going to stop using Google reader because its very useful being able to access your feeds anywhere in the world (and house), the only reason I’m exporting is that Googles organisation is a bit lacking, so I’m going to import it into a local RSS reader then import it back into Google reader nice and neat

When I first started my blog it was mainly so I could remember things and as my friends knew about my site I didn’t have to keep repeating myself I could just forward them to my site! Nowadays, I don’t blog anything nearly as personal because thats not who I am anymore. Now I’d say I was a creative femgeek blogger! I blog to keep my perfectionist tendencies happy and also to meet new people!
The job interview/assesment/I really don’t know what it was! I arrived 15 minutes early and sat down in the business center and people watched for a while. Then the aforementioned lovely lady came and introduced herself and said she was waiting for someone to finish and a few more people to arrive for this session. It was only when she returned and said “is everyone here for the assessment?” did I twig that the 4 other guys (yes they were ALL guys) sitting around me were also here for the assessment!
