Canada - Toronto and the CN tower 2007-07-02 16:05:38 aqua bear cd mem I’ve returned to a land of rain and floods from a place of 35c and freak hail storms the size of icecubes!
The flight out was shorter than expected, but 7 and a half hours is still pretty long! When we landed and disembarked the plane, the first thing we saw was not a ‘welcome to canada’ sign or friendly smily faces, but 6 big (in fact giant) fully armed (automatic weapons and all) guards. Even the female guard was imposing! It’s pretty intimidating, especially if your 5″2!
Our hotel was the Delta Chelsea in Toronto
. Its the busyest hotel I think I’ve ever stayed in and as such they have a bizarre restaurant. Its like a caffeteria but you order cooked meals too. It was all very confusing, it took us quite a while to realise we had to go back to get the pizza by which time it was stone cold. (and fucking massive I might add!)
A few observations from my first few hours in Canada
, Its.not.cheap! We needed to make a trip to the pharmacy

Off to Canada! 2007-06-17 07:08:52 aqua bear cd mem As your reading this I’ll be sitting in Heathrow airport or doing some last minute shopping for some MP3 speakers (which I so desperatly need!) I’m off to Canada
for two weeks.
Our first week will be spent following the tourist trail. I’m ashamed to admit I know sod all about Canada. The only tourist attraction I know of is the CN tower! But thats what the 7 hour flight and a big guide book is all for! By the time I reached China on our first trip last year I’d learn shedloads about their culture - although nothing could have prepared us for passport control in Beijing!! By the second trip my mum and I were so clued up we sailed past the other tourists and blended in quite well with the natives - even if we we’re a bit taller! I was actually tall in China!
We’re heading to Toronto first and spending a day or two there, getting a train to Montreal and again a few days spent there until we get another train to Quebec. Then back to Tor
I’m still a mac whore, honest! 2007-06-16 18:58:22 aqua bear cd mem Its made by Microsoft, it supports DRM, it means something rude in another language and it comes in Brown, but I still want one. A Zune.
My 3rd generation 40gig ipod has more or less given up on life so I’m in need of a new mp3 player but I just don’t like the new ipods. Their all case and not enough screen, but other than the new ipod’s there’s strikingly little choice for a 40gig and up mp3 player. I say mp3 because I’m not really interested in watching movies/tv shows. If I have a clip I want to ’share with friends’ it goes on facebook or my phone.
I’ve been doing some research and other than the Zune the only other viable option (for me) is the Zen Vision W but its all orientated on media which isn’t what I want. Even if the CF slot is mightily handy. I suspect its also massive - not something I could easily carry around. The price also leaves alot to be desired.
All this leaves me with the Zune. I’m sure Read more:honest

BBQ 2007-07-09 04:56:54 aqua bear cd mem The sun has finally come out in England. With all this rain we’ve been having, or what I’m told England had, I was melting in Canada in 36C of heat, It was time for the first British BBQ
of the year! We had a few BBQ’s in Canada, but well, hmm. I saw nicer looking meat in China than I did in the Canadian supermarket!
Whats the best bit about a BBQ?
I have to say the smell! I love the smell of burning flesh mixed with gas, but that’s just me being a Sadist!
Pownce 2007-07-07 01:00:14 aqua bear cd mem I finally got my grubby mits on a Pownce Account thanks to Michael.
Its a combination of Twitter and Tumblr. Ie it allows posting of different types of media similar to tumblr in a twitter like environment. Media such as Messages, Links, Files and Events.
It also comes with a snazzy application that uses apples new(ish) AIR technology. The app (for windoze and pc) lets you access your ‘Powncing’s’ (woo I just coined a new phrase there methinks!) from the desktop.
So I have some invites available! Who wants one!? I only have 2 left now!

New House and Harry Potter 2007-07-13 10:19:15 aqua bear cd mem I went on a trip to Canterbury yesterday to visit my new house and to collect a nice little form making me exempt from council tax, lovely.
I couldn’t remember what the house looked like so it was good to be able to have a nose around again! Its pretty ok, you can tell its a student house! All the other houses in the road have nice flower boxes and beautifully kept lawns, ours looks like its not been lived in for months! (even though it has!) The gardens overgrown and there’s no paint on the front door! Certain bits of it need a good scrub but the bedrooms are all really nice. Especially mine, the biggest!
We also have a lime green kettle! hehe!
I went out for dinner last night with some old friends, we decided to go to the cinema on a spur of the moment thing so we went to see an advance screening of HarryPotter
. I thought we wouldn’t get in but there weren’t that many people there!
I can’t say I was very impressed with the film to be Read more:House
New Layout and Inspiration desperatly needed 2007-07-11 12:58:46 aqua bear cd mem New layout! Its much nicer than my old one as its so clean. I haven’t decided if I’m going to move the theme switcher over yet, it took me 2 weeks to make a layout I like, now that its all done and dusted I want a break from the internet. Which is where my need for inspiration comes in.
I’ve not taken any photos for a while, every time I do their of the same thing, flowers. Flowers are great, they sit still and they don’t complain when you don’t ‘capture their beauty’. Their very patient models. Unlike myself. I tend to be hard to focus on and time consuming, though things have been greatly sped up with the use of a remote I’ve found it difficult to come up with ideas significantly different to those that have already been done.
This is where you lot come in! Your all creative, you know you are. So I would like some suggestions for new photoshoot’s, it can be anything! If you have anything that inspires you, link me Read more:Inspiration

Canada - The rest of 2007-07-06 01:00:49 aqua bear cd mem Because no one can be bothered reading about Canada
(and quite frankly it doesn’t make for fascinating writing on my behalf) I’m going to do the rest in summary :). Makes it easier on the poor sick me.
Quebec
An 8 hour train to Quebec from Toronto stopping briefly at Montreal to change trains.
There we’re two fantastic things about the Delta Quebec, one, the food, OMG the food. I do like hot dogs and pizza but sometimes you want some veggies on your plate. I love crunchy green beans. Thank god for the French influence is all I can say. Secondly, the hotel had free internet woo!
The two bad things about Quebec - They all speak french, and I havn’t, since GCSE (which I did get an A for) and well this is kind of good too..but not in this circumstance. My room was 2 floors above my parents round the other side of the hotel (which is shaped like a U) but guess who got all the screaming children on their floor. ARG Its like being at uni all over aga

Canada - Niagra Falls 2007-07-04 18:45:32 aqua bear cd mem After our city tour we did a Niagra falls tour! It was an all day trip there and back in our prison transport.
We made a few stops along the way until we reached the Maid of the Mist where we did our boat trip right up to the falls, their very impressive. It made me laugh how piddly the American falls are compared to the ones on the Canada
side!
They Gave us our complimentary Maid of the Mist raincoats, which I must say are very fetching!
And we got on board (a very wet) boat for our trip very close to the falls. I didn’t see much tbh I was a bit disorientated by the raincoat and the fact that everyone around me was much taller!
When we finally got up onto the top side of the falls it was much more impressive. The water is so fast and there so much of it!

A birthday complete with male nudity. 2007-07-15 14:33:03 aqua bear cd mem It was my friends 19th yesterday so in traditional british fashion we had a right proper piss up. Beginning at 3pm in the pool house. It was all fun and games until someone decided to get their cock out. I wont link to the photos, but oh dear. Seeing two penis’s running about at 5 o’clock (lucky I didn’t write o’cock - heh!) in the afternoon is not the best way to start to a night out but luckily it was still a good one.
I left my hair curly! (I’m in the middle btw)
It was nice to see some of my old school mates again. I drank quite alot and was depressingly sober for most of the night. One thing I would like to say though, to Liquid, in Windsor, you play shit music! eugh! Listen to the requests of your guests. OK so we didn’t pay to get in but still the least you could do would be to play a song we requested, after all you did royally cock up my drinks order! (note the use of Royally - we’re in windsor see). hmm bad jokes as Read more:complete

Annoying things about websites no.2 2007-07-18 09:14:03 aqua bear cd mem I’m making a habit of finding annoying things
