2008-06-25 10:23:29
From 5 till 11 June I was in Sarajevo (Bosnia ) together with my breakdance crew Come Correct. An organization from The Netherlands does charity work in Bosnia by organizing an annual Kidsfestival in which (poor) children could participate in 22 different workshops. One of those workshops was of course our breakdance workshop! We had a great time with those children.

At the airport we took the Maglev train to go to Long Yang Road Station, it took about 8 minutes at a speed of 430 km/ph to get there. We then took a taxi to our hostel, I was so smart to NOT bring the adress of our hostel in Chinese haha. Luckily I received a confirmation sms from Hostelworld.com which also contained the numbe

Kyoto the city of temples
2008-08-04 12:09:00
Kyoto is the former capital city of Japan and it's a city full of temples. We went to the Golden Palace and the Zen Garden, which was beautifull (like last year :-p ). After that we went to Inari (about 15 minutes from Kyoto) and visited Fushimi Inari which is an area full of temples and shrines. We walked to the top and enjoyed the beautifull skyline of Kyoto city.

2008-08-04 11:54:32
There are not so many hostels in Hiroshima and most of them were full or too expensive. We stayed in Fukuoka and just went to Hiroshima for one day. We visited the holy Miyajima Island which is full of deers and beautifull nature. After that we went to the A-Bomb Dome which is a building that survived the atom bomb attack of America in 1945.

It was about 35 degrees celcius in Fukuoka and we went to the beach a few times. It was quite hot but we gained a nice tan. Near the beach there is Fukuoka Tower and at the top you can see the skyline of Fukuoka City. About 10 minutes walking from the tower where is the Disaster Prevention Center where you can experience an earthquake, a typhone or be a firefighter. Most of the visitors were child

Karaoke in Korea
2008-07-24 23:54:20
Karaoke is the Japanese word for...Karaoke, in Korea they call it "noraebang" which has exactly the same meaning. We just couldn't resist to go to a karaoke place and sing our hearts out. They offered a small room with a big book full of songs and 4 screens that were showing the lyrics of the song. The room also contained a tambourine to make it extra funky when you tap with the beat. We can reall

Welcome to Korea
2008-07-24 23:43:12

The Summer Palace in Beijing

The Summer Palace was the summer resort owned by the imperial family. This is not just one palace but it contains a big lake, bridges an tons of palaces. We took a bus from Qianmen Square which took us to the palace within one hour. I recommend to buy the ticket which also contains entrance to other halls and palaces and not just the general summer palace entry. Overall the Summer Palace was very

The Forbidden City in Beijing
2008-07-24 23:10:43
This day was sunny and dry so it was the perfect day to go to the Forbidden City. In front of the city there is a huge picture of our big "friend" Mao Zedong. The Forbidden City was the imperial palace during the Qing and Ming dynasty. It took us a few hours to walk around in the city because it was huge!. At the end of the city there is a beautiful garden but unfortunately it was filled with tour

Rain in Beijing
2008-07-24 22:52:21
We were trying to go to the Forbidden City but then a heavy rainfall hit us!. When we ran back to our hostel and discovered that the sink in our room was full of dirty water from the sewer.

Back from Asia
2008-09-08 08:02:36
Some ask me why there were no updates after my Kyoto post. Well I have few simple explanations for that: Mostly I was too tired to even crawl behind a (mostly slow) computer to add a post with stories and picture. Next time I will just bring my own laptop to keep my blog up-to-date because most computers at hostels really suck.
