Now this really warmed my heart and made me chuckle!I received an email from one of Finders! Keepers? Art Droppers whose young son ("H"), loves the project. H and his Mom will drop: Art ID #: FK25H says:- Why is she doing this? (Then a "how cool" when he hears the explanation).- Why in the world would she give away such a good painting?- Can I be the "Keeper" because this is the best painting I have ever seen!- What if I just happen to find it where I leave it, then can I be the "Keeper?"H's Mom says:- I've promised to let him "leave" it. He is going to leave it in a special place and that will hopefully cause the "Finder" to leave it someplace else ... where H will find it and become the "Keeper."- I hope to report that I was able to pry H's cold fingers off the painting and I'll tell you exactly where we left it. Thoughts On A Failing Art Project...

...or is it failing?My intention with this project was to give some of my art away in a fun way -- it makes me happy. Yet somehow, I've lost sight of that intention and have been feeling quite down that more "art finders" have not written in.Originally, I viewed this project as an artistic version of "Message in a Bottle." I was truly jazzed about possible serendipitous connections and the notion that a small object unleashed in a big, big world might wander far and wide and tell me great tales of its travels.And, just like 'messages in bottles' that go astray, wash up on a deserted island, smash against the rocks before reaching the beach, or get picked up and put on a shelf and forgotten about -- I need to be okay with any outcome. I need to remember my original intention of giving art away and the joy I receive from just doing that. With that in mind, the project is not a failure. So, I'll continue.Each piece goes out into the world with a blessing of good will and good wishes f

(Don't get hung up on which poetic form to use or the fact that you might not have even written a poem before - just write about the painting and you might win it).I'll choose the winning poem and will post eligible entries at my discretion.
