2008-06-20 17:24:12
Pastor Andreasen left a comment, and I wanted to make sure all the readers knew what he had to say concerning my previous post "Share the Burden ". If you haven't read that, please scroll down and read that as well!Sharon,National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) should cover a portion of our building...however, it does have a max amount of coverage. Doesn't look like that will cover the clean-up, re

Share the Burden
2008-06-20 09:55:37
It's easy to get caught up in our own little world, and put others to the side. Christians are instructed to 'share other people's burdens'. I know many people read this blog. I want you to help share the burden of an Assembly of God Pastor! If you're still reading, that's a good sign. You didn't "turn me off" or "tune me out". Good!I want to bring to your attention, once again, First Assembly

Hot Coals + Trash Can= FIRE!!
2008-06-19 10:04:34
Today's adventure and blog post are courtesy of "Son". :0)Let's start today's post with a trip down memory lane. Approximately eight years ago our family had a wiener roast (over an open fire) in our back yard. We were then living in Ozark, Missouri. My parents were out visiting us. We finish eating, and throw our paper products in the fire to burn. Son throws in a pop can. We get onto him

SURF'S UPEvery Wednesday the local theater has a "Pepsi Film Festival" in which they have two FREE showings of a family friendly movie. This weeks film was "Surf's Up". Pretty good. It was much better than last weeks "Veggie Tales: Pirates Who Don't Do Anything." I was so bored last week, I almost went to sleep. Surf's Up kept me awake and entertained at least.VBSIn addition to the movie today, I

Something F-U-N
2008-06-14 07:28:38
Every once in a while I like to pass along something fun to do on the Internet, a "Cool Website". I figured this was a good thing to help make it a F-U-N Friday.I've enjoyed playing this the last couple of days. It's considered to be a game that is "relaxing" yet challenging. You'll have to try this for yourself. It's not like any other game I've played before. The rules are simple. Collect as many

Watch Out ! ! !
2008-06-13 16:35:41
We've all seen these cars, as pictured to the left. The ones that inform you that a new, inexperienced "child" is behind the wheel. I don't know about you, but I've become 'numb' to respecting the danger sign that is displayed on these cars, disguised as driver's education. Our oldest child, "Son" is enrolled in Driver's Education this summer. Knowing his experience first hand has caused within me

When is the best time to blog?
2008-06-09 19:57:25
I have statistics on my blog, and I tend to watch them very closely. Last week I noticed something different on my stats. Towards the end of the week I was out of my routine, and ended up posting a couple blogs in the afternoon/evening hours. After I posted I couldn't believe how my visitor hits jumped tremendously. (**So, this is an "experiment" of sorts to see if the same holds true.)Normall

2008-06-09 08:44:03
Today's post is courtesy of my brother-in-law, Pastor Tony. (He is the Kids Pastor at Life Point Church in Valley Center, KS.) He sent my husband and I an email last week, and this fits in perfectly with the "You Never Know" series. I got his permission to post it on the blog.I just felt like sharing a cool little story. Last week I connectedwith someone who used to be in my Kids Church in Springf

Rain, Rain, Go Away!
2008-06-07 19:05:56
Last night we had bad storms roll through our "neck of the woods". Tim was being a darling husband, and making supper. I went and took a nap. (How sweet is that?) I know not many wives get that luxury!I wake up around 6:20, and hear thunder. I check on the progress of supper (almost ready) and quickly check radar. We were about to get a whopper of a storm. The kids were busy watching Cartoon Netwo

It Was a L-O-N-G Night
2008-06-04 08:02:45
A Hoosier Family is really dragging this morning, as many Hoosiers who live in central Indiana. Severe storms, some including large hail and tornadoes was hitting central Indiana from late in the evening until early morning. We live in West Central Indiana, 15-20 minutes from the Illinois border. As far as weather goes, we're usually amongst the first to get hit, and have to keep our eyes on what's

I'm So Excited, and I Just Can't Hide It
2008-06-03 08:44:55
My sister got Tim one of those singing birthday cards for his birthday. When you open it up you hear the Pointer Sisters singing "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it." My kids love playing with this card. Problem is, every time I hear the thing I think it's our phone ringing. We have different rings set up for different callers, and I have "We Are Family" by the Pointer Sisters set as our Fam

Our Saturday Celebration
2008-06-02 07:27:23
A Hoosier Family had an enjoyable weekend. Saturday we did some fun things to celebrate Tim's birthday. He is a big Indiana Jones fan, and we went to see the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The movie is Dove approved, and we felt safe letting the entire family view the movie. We don't go to theaters very often, matter of fact the last movie we saw in a theater was Ratatouil

Does Anyone Want to Help?
2008-05-31 08:16:15
Does anyone on the Assembly of God Blogs want to help me contact other Assembly of God Bloggers? I've been going through the master list of bloggers, and updating my information. Many on the ring need to update their code, and several are MIA's. I don't want to send out another mass email, as often times it gets delivered to spam folders anyway. Personal emails or comments are the way to go, but t

2008-05-30 07:55:41
Right before I published my previous post, a reply to an anonymous commenter, they left another comment. Anonymous said it was okay (in other words never mind) and that they wouldn't be coming back. And, so far they haven't been back, and so I'm moving on. :0)I gotta tell you what I great time I had with the Big Weiss family visiting A Hoosier Family! Last time I saw my sister and her family was

You must be anxious for my reply. :0) Sorry to make you wait, but part one of my reply (the preface) is finally here. Before I get into the actual reply, I’d first like to say I’m basing what I’m saying on you knowing about God. "Gas Prices" read in Washington D.C.
2008-05-27 18:52:17
I had to quickly pop in and say Hi. "A Big Hoosier Weiss Family" has been enjoying our time together! I so dearly love my sister and her family.I found it interesting tonight while checking emails and blog stuff that someone from Washington D.C. read my previous blog post (and comments) on Gas Prices . Hmmm. It would be nice to think that maybe we actually have a voice, and can be heard by those in

Gas Prices
2008-05-24 05:45:01
I know, it's a "Hot Topic". Traveling this past week across Ohio and Indiana revealed an interesting trend. Apparently with the rising gas prices, "run-offs" have been increasing, and gas stations are insisting on pre-paid. This was first discovered while my Dad was trying to get gas last week. I walked in to this fairly small hometown gas station and was willing to stand there as my Dad pump

We Found a Treasure!
2008-07-04 14:20:00
We went out on our first geocaching experience, and we found the hidden treasure!  We selected the nearest cache, and it happened to be an easy one.  This was a good one to start with. First picture is the found cache.  Second picture is Daughter and Tim getting ready to open the cache.  Third picture is me returning the cache to the same location, in the same condition (after

Happy Independence Day!
2008-07-04 10:14:00
What do you have planned for today? Not much here.  Today is feeling pretty much a normal day.  Nothing spectacular planned.  The nearest fireworks display is 45 minutes away, and we won't be going to that.  The small display we saw a couple weeks ago, at the conclusion of the County Fair/Festival will have to suffice. I have my GPS registered and updated.  It was proba

Calling Support/Listening to Muzak
2008-07-03 18:18:00
Thank you for calling Garmin International... The next available product support specialist will be with you as soon as possible.  (Estimated wait time 30 minutes!) This support line is deceptive!  They let you hear a ring, and think "finally, a person!"  Only to have hopes dashed  to hear the same recording, again. All I want to do is get my product registered and updated!

Treasure Hunting
2008-07-03 06:13:00
Well, I'm still excited about the geocaching!  That sounds like a blast!  Modern day treasure hunting.  (For those who don't know what I'm referring to, please read my previous post Want to Play Hide and Seek for links and more details.) When it comes to geocaching don't think in traditional terms of treasure hunting, and that you have to be the first to get it or it will be gone.
