Phooey! 2008-08-16 09:26:00 Phooey! Webster's defines it as "used to express repudiation or disgust."
I don't seem to hear it as much now, as I did growing up. Perhaps that is because a popular use of the term was associated with a cartoon: "Hong Kong Phooey!"
Not being sure of the word "repudiation" in the definition, I looked it up too. :0)
Repudiate
1: to divorce or separate formally from (a woman)
2: to
It's in my blood! 2008-08-15 14:38:00 I had to take my Chihuahua to the vet today. He's fine. Allergies and vaccinations.
On my way home I'm listening to Rush on the radio. A commercial comes on. The type that asks "Do you suffer from _____?"
Then it proceeds to say: "You may be suffering from a condition called GAD". (General Anxiety Disorder).
I just about died laughing in the van. I don't know anyone who has my patern

Discernment... and the Anti-Christ? 2008-08-14 13:00:00 I was reading Musings of a Sci Fi Pastor, and a post about Todd Bentley and his marriage separation. Chad has been on a role here lately at blessing and teaching me via his blogs.
Chad has a link up to visit a Charisma online article that is talking about the Lakeland Revival and Todd Bentley.
In this article the author hits the topic of discernment. A few posts ago Chad posted a David Read more:Christ

Back 2 School 2008-08-13 14:14:00 The kids went back to school today. Life is returning to "normal" yet things are different this year!
Son is a Jr. He only has one more first day of school left. (Not counting college)
Daughter is in Jr High. Where oh where has my little girl gone?!?
Boom is in the 3rd grade and now has classes "upstairs" which is for the big kids (3rd-6th grades.) It doesn't seem or feel to be that Read more:School
Christians Online #4 (Correct Way to Copy/Paste) 2008-08-12 13:49:00 Don't plagiarize. If you want to use more than a paragraph or two of someones work, ask them for permission first.
For instance... I watched an excellent David Wilkerson video this morning on Musings of a SciFi Pastor. Yes, it's a public video that I could have easily gone to You Tube and embedded it on my blog. BUT that would be wrong if I didn't acknowledge Chad in some way. I learne Read more:Christians

Christians Online #3 (Guilty) 2008-08-12 06:40:00 Last night I was making my way through the Assembly of God Blogs and saw it happen again. A simple cut and paste job, but this time with no crediting links or source identification.
I know this topic is needed desperately within the Christian blog-o-sphere. It is happening way too much, and people aren't thinking and/or unknowledgable.
Apparently I stepped on a person's toes too hard Read more:Christians

Christians Online #2 2008-08-11 15:00:00 Copying and Pasting is easy. Sometimes too easy.
Not too long ago I had an entire post of mine copied and pasted. Yes, they linked to me at the end, but I had no idea they were using my work.
Imagine my surprise and frustration when I was going through reading some of my favorite Christian blogs, to discover something I had written on someone else's blog!
I was never asked for permission for Read more:Christians

"Family Practice" 2008-08-09 08:55:00 A Hoosier Family
is off to "Family Practice
". No, it's not a family camp. No, it's not a doctor's office (for those in my hometown!) LOL
It's a football practice in which the family is allowed to come watch. Today is the first time we are able to view a football practice, ever! (They have all been closed practices the last three years.)
Oh, and Son got his jersey number the other day.
Pity City 2008-08-08 14:24:00 It's funny how certain things can stick with you.
Back around 2000, we were attending Ozark (Missouri) Assembly of God. Someone got up to sing a special, and said something that has stuck with me. It's coming to remembrance today, and so I am going to share it with you.
Before she began to sing, this person shared how she was going through some tough times. She was battling depression.
"Winstanople" 2008-08-08 09:46:00 For a few hours tomorrow night/ Sunday morning we will once again be "A Big Weiss Hoosier Family". My sister and family will be passing through tomorrow, on their way out to my parents in Ohio. I'm washing up bedding and getting the house ready for company. While the Big Weiss Family is back 'home' visiting our parents, I will be returning the favor she did for me on our vacation, and doggy-sit
Back to School Tip #2 2008-08-07 14:30:00 I read somewhere recently that August is the second biggest month of clothing sales. No surprise there. After we pay our school fees, supplies, and equipment, we have little left to go out and purchase a new wardrobe for the school year.
Look for some excellent bargains! I purchased myself a pair of tennis shoes yesterday at Payless Shoe Source for $6.00, which is a GOOD deal in and of Read more:School
Oops! 2008-08-07 07:43:00 I got a comment yesterday on my AM post saying basically "huh?" They didn't get the title after reading the post. LOL Well, in case you were that way, but just didn't say anything...
I often start off with the title, and then type out the blog. It's the way I 'create'. Yesterday I started typing the post and the Lord took it a totally different direction. Plain and simple, I forgot to g

A Civil War Hoosier Family 2008-08-05 12:48:00 Here are some proofs from our photo session at Silver Dollar City on Son's 16th Birthday. We choose the Union Civil
War theme. It was fun getting dressed up, and we purchased an actual tintype of our favorite photo! (The first one is the one we purchased.)
Here is a picture of my Great Granddad's Sister, Susan in the very early 1900's. She would be my Great- Great Aunt Susan. I know h Read more:Family

I have to how many times??? 2008-08-04 13:00:00 This week is hectic, to say the least. "When it rains, it pours!" Is holding true. My sister Jenni @ Big Weiss Blog) is in a big battle. Pastor Deanna is in a big battle. I'm in a big battle. My Mom is possibly battling the C-diff, again. I can go on and on, but I'd rather not.
But as I told Deanna earlier today "we know the VICTOR!"
Today Tim and I woke up early to go get groceries

Pondering of My Tuesday 2008-09-09 17:49:00 I went to the doctor today. He was nice. He's a great man who loves God. He just happens to be towards the end of his career, and you can tell. He put me on a brand new drug that is very similar to what my Mom takes for her high blood pressure. I will take my first one tonight. This drug can take up to two weeks to fully get in one's system, and I have a return visit scheduled at that Read more:Tuesday
Blood Pressure an Issue, Again 2008-09-08 14:42:00 Within the last few weeks my blood pressure has risen into becoming an issue, again. LOL I've been waking up as early as four in the morning with the high blood pressure headache that I get. It's been bad, especially these last five days.

It's My Birthday! 2008-09-07 16:07:00 I allowed my picture to be taken on my birthday. Yes, allowed. I hate having my picture taken!!!! I wanted to change my profile picture on facebook, so that was my motivation. Ha-ha. I wanted to post the pictures here so my parents can have some new pictures of their "#1 Daughter". Assembly of God Blogs in the News! 2008-09-04 13:45:00 I was checking my stats this afternoon, and the Assembly
of God Blogs
network site is having a ton of hits. This makes me question, "where are they coming from?"
I look into the stats and see they are coming from "Christian News Headlines". I happen to subscribe to this feed at A Hoosier Family. You can see the feed towards the bottom of my right hand sidebar.

Let me 'Splain about the "Saddle" 2008-09-04 06:57:00 If you read my blog regularly you may remember me blogging a post "Back in the Saddle
". What did it mean? Well, let me explain...
Very few knew my "college" was an issue. Only relatives and those who know me IRL obtained a glimpse of the struggles and the debate as to whether to quit, find another college, continue, etc.
I never felt I received a "clear-cut" answer or direction
Gov Palin Video 2008-09-03 09:27:00 On the Assembly of God Blogs network site I have posted a statement from Wasilla Assembly of God concerning Gov. Sarah Palin.
Also is a video of Gov Palin speaking, supposidly at Wasilla A/G. It's interesting to see/hear her speak. It's good to learn about our candidates!

I bet YOU don't see this too often! 2008-09-02 13:28:00 The other day, Tim and I were driving to the nearby Wal-Mart to get groceries. We typically travel through the back highways and roads. In west-central Indiana this means a bunch of farmland.
As we were going, we ended up being behind a tractor. What I saw struck me to be funny. I got out my camera, and snapped a couple photos. This is so rural Indiana!

Gov. Sarah Palin Assembly of God? 2008-08-31 21:02:00 I've spent hours these last couple of days researching and trying to get confirmed and cited information about the McCain's new running mate, Gov. Sarah

The Internet has all kinds of information out there. But, who and what do we believe?
Is Gov. Sarah Palin Assembly

I've posted an article about this very question at the Assembly of God Blogs network site. (To go directly to the
