Secret Paw present!
2007-07-16 05:59:02
Woo Hoo…we got our secret paw gift, after the post office held it hostage. We were so excited when Mum brought it home we actually got out of bed! Hmmm…what is in here…     Us boys especially loved the treats, and we didn’t want to share with Stasia     Thank you so much to Gypsy and her Mum for our great presents We love them!

Best Friends
2007-08-07 01:03:18
Katelyn and Calais are the best of friends, why I have no idea. I’m not sure if Calais is a bit stupid, desperate (tho he has the rest of the family begging for his attention) or just very tolerant. To say she is a bit rough with him, would be an understatement, but he loves her non the less. He is always helping her play, whether she likes it or not. If she ever sits still long enough you will always find him curled up in her lap. Their favourite game is fetch the paint brush. Katelyn throws a rather large paintbrush, and he drags it back to her and the so on until nasty Mum takes it off them when I can no longer stand the screaming, meowing, giggling and screeching any longer. Calais was suppose to be Daddy’s cat…looks like that idea went out the window. I guess we will have to try again *wink*

Teeth
2007-08-07 20:33:42
Why can’t all the baby teeth just quietly fall out of their mouths when they are sleeping? Would be so much easier. We have 2 losing their teeth at the moment..Who’s stupid idea was it to give them money? I am having trouble keeping up with who lost what when, someone should sack that tooth fairy, she actually forgot to come to both children one night *blush* Emily has had this one tooth lose for well over a month, probably closer to 2. At this point it is no longer held in by any gum what so ever. So how is it still in there you ask…that’s what I would like to know! Driving along 3 weeks ago we told her we would give her $5 if she would pull it out just to have it over with. She sat pulling and wiggling for about 5mins till hurray! she had pulled it out. Only to discover on closer inspection… she had pulled out the wrong one, it was one we didn’t even know was lose! No $5 for you. I picked her up from school yesterday and she excitedly shoved a wa

No I don’t work for ikea
2007-08-13 18:13:02
But how can you not love those fab Swedes from Ikea, they just come up with the best ideas. I spotted this cat bed posted over at Cute Overload is it not the cutest? I then thought yeah, that’s great but of course it will be at the US Ikea, like everything else, they won’t have it here in Australia. But I went searching anyway…and they do! Ikea also have a bunch of other great pet products. I have missed shopping at ikea, since they closed down our local store. I will definitely have to take a trip to pick up one of those beds

Happy Gotcha Day Anastasia
2007-08-16 23:29:35
I was just sitting watching Anstasia peacefully napping in a ball in the sun and remembered…today is her 7th gotchaversary! 7 years ago today, Jake bought me a tiny bundle of meow and spunk, our first meezer, for my 21st Birthday. Thus started our extra special love affair with meezers. You see she was my present, but just about instantly became very much a Daddy’s girl, so I had to keep buying more to get one that loved me LOL! So happy gotchaversary Stasia! We love you lots, thank you for bringing so much to our family, we couldn’t live without you ( I asked for another one this year, but got a bike instead..oh well, there is always Christmas *hehe*)

See…cats can talk!
2007-08-25 17:29:30
..and sing too. This is too cute and funky! I was watching it in a bed full of cats, and they loved it too, then the kids came running from the lounge room and everyone was jumping about singing (and there went my quite Sunday lie in). I’m not sure how cute it will be with everything singing it over and over and over and over for the rest of the day…won’t Daddy be pleased *hehe* ……kitty said what? Via IzzyMom

Cooking for cats with the meezers
2007-09-07 05:36:05
They could have their own TV show! Cooking naturals. I’m not sure what the fascination was with the microwaves..which of course do not work, and were not plugged in (the top one shows how you should not burn popcorn really badly in your microwave..no, it wasn’t me LOL) They spent the whole afternoon playing in on and around, jumping in and out. How long should I put myself on for?           “Oh yes, we see what you mean about the horrible burnt smell” Part of the All Women blogging carnival over with Jill at She writes like she talks

Grand Final Hair
2007-09-30 04:43:44
A few weeks ago Hayden has his first grand final for soccer/football, what ever we are suppose to call it these days. Everyone else was talking about putting blue hairspray in the kids hair, but that sounded a little boring and messy if they got sweaty. So I came up with my own design. We had a flame haircut, and I coloured them in with blue and white face paint. It turned out really well, and stood up in the pouring rain. Unfortunately, they lost 1-0 in extra time, but they are still at the age that it doesn’t really matter to them if they win or lose and they did so well to make it that far in their first year of points and competition…they had a great time! As if soccer for 6mths of the year wasn’t enough. They had a 2 week break after the grand final and have started summer soccer on a Monday night till the end of the year. At least we get to sleep in on a Saturday now!

Getting my shit together is painful and dangerous!
2007-09-03 22:43:23
So I took up Craig Harper’s challenge to get my shit together ( I can’t believe how many times I have blogged the word shit this week LOL) I had planned to start yesterday anyway, but I don’t think I would have lasted too long..so hopefully this will help to keep me going. For my Birthday 2 weeks ago, I bought myself a bike. I had been nagging for one for weeks. Finally he took me to get one, got a great bargain and he go one too. It was very pretty, purple and not to girly looking. He went to put it together, the pedals were missing, and BOTH wheels were buckled..grr. So there was no Birthday morning bike cruising. So by the time we stuffed around waiting for the mechanic to come in and fix it, then I decided I didn’t want to wait and got this one instead. If I was going to be embarking on this new bike riding lark..I was going to need some tunes (music to drown out the people laughing perhaps) My beloved iriver wasn’t going to cut it. While it’s

Community Blogger Award
2007-10-12 18:11:41
Cellobella at SultanaBlog has created a Community Blogger Award , she warded it Meg who has so very kindly passed it on to me. I thought I would award 2 at All for Women, and 2 here…but couldn’t decide on 2 so will make it 3. Trip to Manly
2007-10-12 07:29:00
Today we took a trip to Manly to visit my grandparents. My sister came with us, and we met up with Naomi to go for a trip on the ferry and grab some lunch. The weather wasn’t all that wonderful, but was still a nice day..and the kids had fun. Most importantly, I did what I had wanted to go for. This park is where we scattered my grandparents ashes My Nan asked to have her ashes placed here. It was a favourite place of hers, with the bird aviary over looking the garden. The garden used to be planted with lots of colour and beautiful flowers. After she passed away, we had council install the park bench you can see, and on it we placed a plaque. When my Pop passed away some years later, he too asked for his ashes to be placed with hers so they could be together. It’s really hard to believe it has been nearly 20yrs. I remember spending weekends and holidays at the house like it was yesterday. I really wish they could have met my children.

LibraryThing
2007-10-08 01:08:55
I have recently gotten back into reading after finally getting around to replacing my glasses (it only took 10yrs) There is a blog widget for everything you could think of, so I thought for sure there would be one to show off what your reading. I then spotted the LibraryThing widget over at Snoskred’s. It is such a great idea. Join up and add books to your library. You can then tag them for easy sorting, add information such as when you bought it or read it as well as reviews. View other peoples profiles, and see what everyone else is reading and enjoying. And of course, if your a blog you can use the widget to display your library on your blog, myspace etc (like mine over there–>)..cool no? LibraryThing is a must have for book lovers. I have only just joined, and added what I have read in the last few weeks. If you join up, add me as a friend, would love to see what everyone else is reading.

Spring cleaning
2007-10-07 21:22:47
Here I am doing some spring cleaning for Meezer and Mancat Monday. Do you clean your tail like this? Not a great picture, but I don’t share my special tail cleaning too often. Mum loves it when I do it. I don’t see what the big deal is, so I like to make sure every bit of my tail is super clean. How manly do I look now..just check out the muscles!

lolhowards
2007-10-15 18:37:35
For the non Aussies and those Aussies who live under a rock. John Howard has finally called the Federal Election. I knew he would call it just in time to ruin our holiday, just to shit me I am sure! We were due to take the kids to QLD next month for a week but instead Jake will be printing Johnny’s ballot papers of doom. We are huge lolcats fans! I came across these little gems this morning and choked on my breakfast… Tim has a bunch more at his blog found via Dead Roo

We got mail
2007-10-28 02:36:52
We were excited to get a parcel in the mail this week. After seeing Latte in his great Puppia harness (he even went shopping!) I ordered one from the lovely Erin at Two Small Puppies. Alex would have been most unimpressed with the pink that I had wanted to get. Stasia is about the only who actually likes outside ( she has escaped and been MIA a few times) It was a little small for Calais, he soon worked out quickly in reverse and he could slip out of it. “Daaaad, I’ve had enough, let me in!!” Caesar is a fragile wussy Mummies boy, so I he decided to watch from the window.

NaBloPoMo, are you crazy!
2007-10-30 17:23:00
Yes, I am! I signed up to join this years NaBloPoMo. What on earth is that you ask? NaBloPoMo is National Blog Posting Month. You have to post to your blog every day for the month of November, that is every single day including weekends and public holidays. Even if your sick or have writers block you just do it! My track record is not so good. I started the 365 photos challenged on New Years day, and I think I made it 2 weeks. Tried the GYSTG challenged, that ended just as badly. But, this time could be different..or that’s what I keep telling myself! I am cheating, and posting between here and my other blog, they said I could, I am just ineligible for the prize (did I mention the prizes?) but hey, I can live with that. As always, there is a group for the Aussie contingent. Don’t think about it, just do it, sign up and come join us. Don’t listen to Jen and her NaBlogPoMo virgin warning

New Siamese colour
2007-11-04 01:26:14
Did you know there is a new Siamese colour, and it’s spotty! How cool is that.. They clearly have the usual Siamese personality traits..cheeky..VERY loud and talkative..and the feeling that they should be the centre of all attention. Yup, defiantly a Siamese. She would not be told that she is suppose to be a Dog, no.. she was most insistent that she was a spotted Siamese!   The tail and ears were a fundraiser for RSPCA’s Happy Tails Day, which was last month but took us this long to get the merchandise.

Wake up call
2007-11-02 22:48:56
Can you relate to this cartoon, apart from it being super cute. Do your cats do this to you too? I hear so many people complain that their cats wake them super early begging for food. My cats must have missed that memo, or perhaps they have caught the lazy big from me *hehe*. If anything, it is me up trying to wake them up. In fact I am often told off if I get up and disturb them or move the blankets…excuse me your Majesty! They will stay in bed till lunchtime or longer if I let them. But what is the point in that, who will there be to play with and entertain me.

Eating in Style
2007-11-13 04:39:45
Ohh, looky what we got today. A bowl, so we won’t forget where our blog is! Pretty cool, no! We have had Studio Sebastian personalised pet bowls for about 8yrs, they are wonderful. We used to have one each with our name on it (we had a couple, the beans kept breaking them) We like sharing a meal out of the same bowl anyway. Alex couldn’t wait for some food to give it a test run. Another fun parcel we got today, our faces on Mums bag, so she can show us off everywhere!

Budding Photographer
2007-11-12 01:13:59
Hayden was nagging to use the camera while we were away. He’s used our old one in the past but never really seemed too interested. I’ve never let him use mine before, everything he touches seems to turn to broken. So I gave him a quick run down on how to use it, as well as the break it and you’ll see dead things warning and set him on his way. He was clicking away happily and I didn’t think he would get much of anything other than fuzz. He seemed to be really concentrating on what it was he wanted to take, and checking it right out, zooming in and out before taking his shot. After awhile he was itching to take a look at what he had snapped, and was really proud of himself when he saw the pictures uploaded on the laptop, wanting to show them off to everyone. His favourite is this one of a pelican A few other nice shots that he got…

How to deal with hot weather..
2007-11-16 04:18:01
..the meezer way. In cool weather , it’s important to snuggle as much as possible to keep warm. Not many cats know it’s also just as important in the warmer months. Especially when the damn air-conditioner is running. When it is 45° you have to bake in the sun. A meezer top deck. Chocolate on the bottom, blue on top with a smidge of lilac. Imagine if you could get half and half Siamese, lilac and chocolate would make a nice combo,no?

Declawing, whats the deal?
2007-12-18 19:00:55
Calling all our US buddies, we’re wondering if you could help us out? Here, in Australia declawing is illegal..thank god! It is a horrible, inhumane and brutal thing to do to animals for purely selfish reasons. There is no plausible reason you could have (apart from health reasons for the cat) to remove half an animals toe. If you are too lazy to keep a cats nails trimmed short, get a fish! So the topic came up in conversation in the All for Women forums (it’s in a private area, so can’t show you) But basically one of our only American members was telling about her sister getting a new kitten for Christmas, and getting is declawed . Because ” it’s normal here like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches” for “safety reasons”. WTF? It’s been awhile since we have dealt with the general cat owners out there, just you super special cat bloggers. We know Americans still declaw, but we have some questions we’d love to ask you guys&hellip

Little christmas giving..to myself
2007-12-14 04:42:20
When I saw this shirt, I just had to have it. I love so many of the threadless shirts, but have never been motivated enough to actually buy one. A sale is always helpful! Threadless have a $10 sale on at the moment. So such it is such a bargain, all up with postage to Australia it was a smidge over $20! There is only a few days left of the sale, I think it ends on the 16th. You probably won’t get it in time for Christmas..but you never know? Just a few hours left to enter our 12 days of Christmas competitions over at All for Women. Todays competition is for$100 cash, and is open till next week…who couldn’t do with a bit of extra cash at this time of year? While I’m here, I mose well let you all know about a new forum I put together a few days ago. All for Women Online is a forum for women bloggers and webmasters to get together and network, chat, share tips and advice. Have agreat bunch of friendly ladies joined up already, we’d love to see you there!

Made in China
2007-12-13 18:23:45
For some reason the last few days the kids have been obsessed with where things are made. It has become a bit of a (very) annoying game that we have to check where everything is made *blink* You’d think that would be a little boring, considering most things are made in the same place. It is super exciting, apparently, to find something Made in Australia. How sad is that? Katelyn has been asking if she was made in china too. Considering we haven’t travelled to china, that would be a no. But I don’t think she is convinced. The cats too, according to her, are also made in china. I guess that is sort of close. Well imagine their excitement when we received this hamper from Dairy Farmers. Not only was it a basket full of yummy goodies, but it is All made in Australia! Good thing I am not lactose intolerant (or I could be, and that might explain the horrid heart burn for the last few days). The kids have polished most of it off, and the cats have claimed the basket
