Making things easier
2008-07-20 11:05:00
Lately, I have been trying to figure how to make doing my work more efficient. I do a lot of freelance too and sometimes I get myself so over-booked, and I am trying to do a million things at one time. I know I need to work smarter, not harder, but sometimes I just don't have the time to even adjust my process so make it more efficient. I think I just need to invest in some easier ways of

Going to see Batman?
2008-07-20 10:59:00
Well, it's finally here and everybody wants to go see the late Heath in the most disgusting Joker getup. He does pull off creepiness pretty well. Per the reports, the movie has been considered to have the best opening weekend ever and has already brought in a cool $155.34 million. Wow! I can't wait to go see it. Christian Bale is real hottie. "A Warner Bros. executive says the Batman

Trying to win a gold medal in whining...
2008-08-13 21:44:00
I am sick and tired. If I hear any more about Michael Phelps and the breaking the world records I am going to crap my pants... Seriously, it's all you ever hear again and again "Michael Phelps is great." Michael Phelps has been doing this." "Michael Phelps is on his hundredth event." Blah, blah, blah; it is boring me... And as for world records...if broken every sin

Decisions are not my thing...anymore
2008-08-13 21:12:00
Holy Moly...I feel like there are some days I just can't make a decision, any decision! I could stand there for 10 minutes in front of my friendly Indian friend at my local Dunkin Donuts before I actually take that huge step to choose a friggin donut. Golly, all to satisfy my morning sugar rush. It's like the decision were life or death. I am shaking, eyes darting back and forth. I can only

Finding the right marriage counselor
2008-08-12 20:07:00
It is amazing what marriage counseling can do for people, even when you think you literally have no hope left...even when you think it's over and has been over for quite some time. It's almost like a leaky facet that you think you are going to have to replace but then alas, you get a good plumber in and it's all taken care of. Really, truth be told, the hardest thing about marriage counseling

Endangered Species
2008-08-12 09:52:00
Oh Gash, I am ranting two posts in a row? I guess I am feeling ultra whiney today. The news is just totally fueling me up here. I am about ready to put on my tactical gear and really make a stand. What is up with the Bush administration changing regulations for Endangered Species ? The new regulations being posed would reduce the mandatory, independent reviews government scientists have

911 Emergency-- Help, my sandwich was made wrong!
2008-08-12 09:38:00
This dude is a total jerk. He called 911 because Subway wasn't making his sandwich right. You gotta here this... here's the video. I can't believe these people! I heard a couple people who called about McDonalds taking too long or because they couldn't reach something in their cabinets. What is wrong with these people! If my baby wasn't breathing and the 911 responders were busy finagling

I wonder....
2008-08-10 21:22:00
Will there every be... A sippy cup that NEVER leaks? A perfect diet pill that makes you lose weight in your sleep? An electronic product that runs only on sunlight and doesn't require batteries? AT ALL? A way to package kid's toys that doesn't require cutting your fingers on the multitude of plastic twisties? Unbreakable china dishes? Un-stainable tupperware? Self cleaning microwaves? Toilets

The News...as always, interesting
2008-08-09 11:41:00
So we find out funny man, Bernie Mac, dies of pneumonia and John Edwards, THE oh-so-family-oriented man....cheated on his dear wife? What is this world coming to?

You kick *arse* ---you really do
2008-08-07 16:44:00
I am flabbergasted...in a good way. Guess what I got? No, it's not herpes, or a flat tire, or even a new mole on my back. It is way better and when I say way better, I mean like better like finding an awesome new flavor of wine. A Second Cup passed on the Kick Ass Blogger Award to me. Aw shucks. She is sweet! The rules include passing it on by. . . . Choose 5 bloggers that you feel are &quo

Southern Hospitality
2008-08-07 12:46:00
I am so wishing I could take a quick vacation. Just a couple days with a change of scenery. Somewhere really hip, like Atlanta maybe. I have been there two or three times on business but never really got chance to check out all the attractions. They have a botanical garden down there too that I'd love to check out. Someone else was telling me how nice Savannah is. It is a little southeast

It's like living with Bender from the Breakfast club...
2008-08-07 08:26:00
Here I am whining about my hubs again. He really can be a jack-A. I almost feel like I was talking to Bender from the Breakfast club. I could just feel the immaturity and stupidity flowing, kind of like this... Claire Standish: You know why guys like you knock everything? John Bender: Oh, this should be stunning. Claire Standish: It's because you're afraid. John Bender: Oh God, you richies

Gadget craze
2008-08-06 14:03:00
Last week my husband went out and bought an itouch. I could have killed him. I know that ipods are all the latest rage but for goodness sake, the thing cost $450 or something like that. I was going to kill him. He didn't even discuss it with me. Now I know when he does his freelance he can buy himself something...it shouldn't all go to bills but for cryin' out loud! Will there ever be an

A jumper
2008-08-06 13:59:00
I love this picture of my little girl, she is jumping down the step (just one step down) and the sun is shining through the blinds. It is almost so mid-action. Then you see her shadow in the back...she is a daring one, no doubt about it.

Beautiful sounds
2008-08-06 13:53:00
I think beautiful sounds are one of the most important aspects of finding relaxation. I love the sound of trickling water, wind chimes, classical music, and night sounds. I don't think people put enough value into what just listening to these for a few minutes can do to your mind. Everyday we clutter our heads up with the sounds of traffic, talking, machines...why not give it a rest every so

Kitty help!
2008-08-06 13:46:00
I just love my kitty. He is getting pretty ferocious though these days. His claws are almost like daggers. I guess it is high time I head over to get some good cat supplies I am sure they have something that helps with that. He is also clawing our couches...the little bugger. I did buy some scratching pads but the question here is, how do I get the fur ball to learn to use them? Seriously,

80s Hunks
2008-08-06 13:04:00
I found this over at Mariuca's blog--- cute eh...I actually was not a Scott Baio fan in the 80s but hmm, he is kinda cute. Who is yours? Your 80s Hunk Is Scott Baio Who's Your 80s Hunk?

Most annoying kid's TV show songs of all time
2008-08-05 11:20:00
Ever notice that the kid's songs on the TV shows today are getting more and more annoying? I know they need to be catchy to attract the kids and repetitive enough to really sink in but OMG, I get so ticked off when I am still hearing the song at ten o'clock at night in my head. I have to admit, my least favorite is Zoboomafoo...it almost seems like they are straining in the song. Other ones

Do something different
2008-08-04 13:39:00
A couple of years ago, my husband used to work for this small company. It really was itty bitty. They had to do a lot of marketing to get themselves out there. I remember even posing as employee myself, going to all the marketing functions, wearing the cool T-shirts and handing out business cards. I have to admit, I kind of liked it. I love going to those shows where you get to stand behind

Ah what a weekend
2008-08-03 13:10:00
Well this weekend consisted of watching Juno on Friday night...of which, I totally did not get all the stupid hupla about it. Really, it just didn't tie altogether for me. I actually thought the main character was a bit of a bore, beginning with the 10 minutes in the beginning where she walked around carrying a jug of Sunny D. Her tone was so sarcastic that it got dull after awhile. Ah, but

It can be a little crazy...
2008-09-06 20:45:00
Ya know, I was thinking about how careful we all must be these days. The other day I was thinking I might volunteer at my son's school, ya know, maybe do a little hall monitoring, perhaps be a lunch nazi, or a fanatical fundraiser. I don't know, I am still debating. Still, I went online to check out the paperwork and it is like crazy. I have to go through all this security stuff. Like I

PEOPLE!
2008-09-06 20:42:00
Right now I am up to here [my upturned nose] with rude people. People who walk right in front of you when they see you are trying to ask a customer service person a question...like "hello" do I need to wave my arms around for you to see me. Am I invisible? Perhaps you are an idiot that cannot tell when someone is OBVIOUSLY already waiting. I swear, this happens way too often. I am

Turn your lemon into lemonade
2008-09-05 17:18:00
I know this problem exists...I do. Lemons. Cars that are literally lemons...I have had a little experience thyself and although I will be kind enough not to mention the manufacturer, I had to take my car in several times for electronic issues with my car. It is not fun. It is a major inconvenience! I was a little sick and tired of the nonsense. Like just FIX it already...anywho, I know

Creepy is as creepy does
2008-09-05 17:14:00
Are we in a shortage of mannequins that we have to use a skeleton as a model in store windows? Creepy! The outfit is darling but the model, not so much. I think I will keep my kids away from hooded sweatshirts this year. This "dummy" is sending me mixed messsages.

It takes more than skill...I need a better camera!
2008-09-05 12:19:00
Are you a photo junkie? Lately, I have been taking a ton of pictures. I have tried close ups, different lighting, different programs, everything...and the biggest issue though is not only my lack of skill s but my suckie camera. I bought it 2 years ago and the best thing about it is that it is really small. I can squeeze in my little wristlet if I need to. But convenience isn't everything.

Keeping up in the business world
2008-09-04 19:50:00
It is a crazy time. So many people trying to earn a living and the economic world just seems so topsy turvy. Everything from commercial real estate to pharmaceuticals is becoming a harder sell. I worry that my job may be at risk at times. It could happen, just like that *snap*. Really it is just all about keeping yourself fresh and on top of the new things in your industry. Doing things

If I had...
2008-09-02 21:49:00
If only I had a gazillion dollars. I would buy myself a nice silky set of PJs, a hot tub that is totally self cleaning and has tons of jets, an awesome massage chair that really feels good, a huge totally rocked out bar in my living room complete with tons of apple pucker, vodka, nice cushy seats and bar sinks and a neat little library room with soft candles and music in the background. I think

A gross story...
2008-09-02 21:28:00
Oh my God...this is one of the grossest stories I have read yet. What the heck is wrong with these people? They are selling corpses body parts!!! YUCK. And I didn't even know they used these for dental implants, knee and hip replacements....eeek. Good thing the stupid culprit may get life in prison, he most certainly deserves it. Those poor families who didn't know their loved ones bodies

Transformation of a baby room
2008-09-01 22:31:00
So I am still finishing up my girlie's room. At two, she really has moved up in taste. The little fuzzy bunnies and light green and yellow animal theme are being replaced with pink and purple flowers and fairies. It's amazing how all the baby stuff is already retired. Such a short time. At first they go to sleep looking at cushy baby white sheeps and tiny teddy bears. Then they get older and
