2007-03-11 21:08:00
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Monday, March 12, 2007-- NINE Malaysians are certainly the envy of many as they are among the richest in the world. They are among 946 billionaires in the world who made it to the Forbes’ List of World Billionaires for 2007. The magazine, according to a Bernama report, had reported that Asia’s share of billionaires on the widely-followed ranking of the mega-rich had gone up from 14.5 per cent last year to 17 per cent this year. Up by 153 from last year, the 2007 Forbes’ Billionaires List are worth a total of RM12.3 trillion (US$3.5 trillion), 35 per cent higher than 2006, following a year of strong equity and real estate markets and rising commodity prices which boosted wealth worldwide.Bill Gates III, founder of Microsoft, remains the world’s richest man for the 13th year in a row with a net worth of RM196.2 billion (US$56 billion), followed closely by his pal and investment guru, Warren Buffett, with a net worth of RM182.2 billion (US$52 billion). The

Skippy, the "Police Dog" 9-March-2007
2007-03-09 11:03:00
This is our little Jack Russell with 1/8 minature Fox Terrier bloodline. Physically he is small, but a very clever and active dog. This morning, I caught him laying under the sun catching some warm summer sun. He is like a Mat Salleh, like to get some tan during summer. If you look carefully, you can notice skin of his stomach is pink in Color. We call him Skippy , but praised him as a "Police Dog" (believe me, that thrills him a lot). The problem with him is that; he is a BIG dog in a small body. He strouts like a "Police Dog" and always put up a big front when there are stranger near our property and always try to "fly" and kill the pigeons (zero fatality rate so far). During his free moment, he will "assault" sun's ray on the carpet too! Skippy came and filled up our lives with extra flavour (yes, we cook him customized meals each day, low fat, no salt, etc).Rate Me on BlogHop.com! help? Personal blogs

2007-03-09 10:37:00
The Sony Ercicsson W800i's battery is aging and cannot last long for taking digital pictures and listening to my MP3. As usual, I go to Digi Parallel Imports, 326-A Queen Street , Auckland to buy a new, original LiOn battery for the W800i. Joe, the boss is an honest trader and his shop always carries the latest mobile phones and digital cameras. There are major road work going on there along Queen Street and the street was decked with red Chinese Lantern. The weather was fabulous this morning, so I took some shot with my Nikon Coolpix 7600. See the attached pictures (click for larger view)Rate Me on BlogHop.com! help? Personal blogs

Chinese New Year Eve, the dog & car park guard
2007-02-18 10:36:00
The wife and I went for a last minute shopping at food centre on New North Road, Auckland, yesterday (Chinese New Year Eve). Whiel waiting for my wife, I took some picture of our pet, Skippy (see below and click on pic to get a bigger view)Since the evening sky was so beautiful, I took some picture with my Nikoa Coolpix 7600. Suddenly came from nowhere a car park guard approached me and questioned me. "What are you doing? Do you know the regulations?" He looks sloppy in his messy uniform, physically he is very "tiny". He can't speak proper English (that is why he work as a guard, I guess). He is not Asian nor European, but he doesn't shave and needs major dental work done for sure.He assumed that he can pick on any one who looks Asian and have some fun. It is easy to deal with people like this. The trick is look him in the eyes, talk like his superior or manager and you will see his tail hide between his leg immediately. When he asked me the "tough" questions, I simply answer h

The family also suffered a tragic loss when his sister Eei Wern, drowned at the swimming pool of the Seremban International Golf Club in 1993. Year 2007: The 77 things you must know...
2007-01-05 13:44:00
1. Seven is the optimum number of hours of sleep for humans, according to a US scientific study.2 Seven is seen as a lucky number in many cultures. Japanese mythology talks of Shichifukujin (The Seven Gods of Fortune).3 The seven deadly sins, or cardinal sins, were refined by Pope Gregory I in the 6th century. They are pride, avarice, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.4 The seven virtues are humility, liberality, chastity, kindness, abstinence, patience, and diligence.5 At a ceremony in Lisbon on 07/07/07, presumably at 7:07, the results of a global vote for the New Seven Wonders of the World will be announced. The 21 finalists include Stonehenge, the Kremlin and Timbuktu.6 The superstitious believe that to break a mirror brings seven years of bad luck. The cure: to bury the pieces, or run them in a stream.7 The average person's digit span (the number of digits they can recall in sequence) is seven.8 The common ladybird has seven spots.9 In Vedic Hindu tradition, the human body f

CNN apology over Obama name slip
2007-01-04 07:02:00
US broadcaster CNN has apologised after mistakenly putting the name of US Senator Barack Obama as a caption on a story about Osama Bin Laden. An advertisement for a feature about the whereabouts of the al-Qaeda leader carried the caption "Where's Obama?" over images of Bin Laden.CNN has apologised for "a very bad typographical error".A spokesman for Mr Obama, a potential presidential hopeful, said he accepted that it was an innocent error."Though I'd note that the 's' and 'b' keys aren't all that close to each other, I assume it was just an unfortunate mistake," his spokesman Tommy Vietor said. The error happened on Monday night during presenter Wolf Blitzer's news programme "The Situation Room".Mr Blitzer apologised on air for the slip. "I'm going to be making a call to him later this morning to offer my personal apology," he said.Mr Obama, tipped by some to become the country's first black president, admitted in October that he was considering a White House run in 2008.He has

The 2006 Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index
2007-01-02 13:05:00
According to the annual survey by the Berlin-based organization Transparency International , Finland, Iceland, and New Zealand are perceived to be the world's least corrupt countries, and Haiti is perceived to be the most corrupt. The index defines corruption as the abuse of public office for private gain and measures the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among a country's public officials and politicians. It is a composite index, drawing on 12 polls and surveys from 9 independent institutions, which gathered the opinions of businesspeople and country analysts. Only 163 of the world's 193 countries are included in the survey, due to an absence of reliable data from the remaining countries. The scores range from ten (squeaky clean) to zero (highly corrupt). A score of 5.0 is the number Transparency International considers the borderline figure distinguishing countries that do and do not have a serious corruption problem. Countries that have significantly improved their
