Telemetry Transmitter for Small Animal
2008-06-03 11:23:50
The goal of this project was to build a small, cheap, light-weight telemetry transmitter to attach to a small animal. This version uses a commercial, low-power transmitter, the Radiotronix RCT-433-AS. The design worked well, but has a relatively high current draw of about 500 microamps. A CR1620 lithium coin cell runs the circuit for about a week. The current version uses a pair of CMOS oscillator

Wideband UHF TV Signal Amplifier
2008-05-20 02:26:14
This UHF wideband signal amplifier has a total gain of 10 to 15 dB in the 400 - 850 MHz domain frequency so it can be used where the tv signal is weak. For UHF TV signal amplifier to work correctly, you need to cut the components pins as short as possible. C1, C2, C6, C7 are SMD type (surface mounted). This antenna tv amplifier or uhf wideband amplifier need to be build inside of a metal box an

Audio Millivoltmeter as Audio Test Equipment
2008-05-13 16:04:59
When performing any tests on an audio system, some form of measuring device is essential. Digital multimeters are not useful, since they will not give the true picture of what is happening, and most have a fairly limited frequency range. An oscilloscope equipment is the ideal tool for audio test, but not all hobbyists can afford the outlay for a scope, and would find justifying the not inconsider

Water Activated Alarm
2008-05-08 02:10:37
The Electronic circuit uses a 555 timer wired as an astable oscillator and powered by the emitter current of the BC109C. Under dry conditions, the transistor will have no bias current and be fully off. As the probes get wet, a small current flows between base and emitter and the transistor switches on. A larger current flows in the collector electronic circuit enabling the 555 osillator to sound.A

Almost Ultrasonic Motion Sensor
2008-05-07 03:51:56
This sensor uses the sound generator in the RCX to make a 15kHz audio tone, which is almost ultrasonic. The tone is received with circuitry similar to my Sound sensor. The output of a crystal microphone MIC is amplified and then only the very high frequencies are further amplified (see plot). This signal is enveloped detected with a diode D1 and capacitor C1. The voltage on the capacitor will equa

Make Printed Circuit Boards
2008-05-01 14:26:31
Creating Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) is easy and fun for the whole family! But read the disclaimer -- heat and corrosive chemicals are dangerous. After you've prototyped and tested your circuit design, creating a PCB will provide a sturdy and reliable backbone for your circuit and will give your project a professional finished quality. Using PCBs can even help reduce the time you spend building
