April Fools' Day Technology Pranks 2007-03-30 00:19:00 My favorite technology prank is disabling someones desktop icons and making them appear to still be there. First you take a picture of the desktop, (print screen button) then you open up a picture editor and edit paste the picture in, (paint) next you save the picture so you can find it later. Now you switch their desktop background to the picture you just saved. And finally you right click, arrange icons by, show desktop icons. This will turn off their icons, but since you took the picture with the icons showing, they will appear to still be there. Surely you can do better then that. Comment and leave your favorite technology prank. Read more:April

But, car companies are still coming out with some really cool extras, along with some very nice safety features. In your next car, you should expect to see Advanced airbags and maybe side curtain airbags. But, will your car be able to parallel park itself? Or will it be able to e-mail you self diagnostics? These features are already available and there are new features being worked on. When you buy a new car, will you consider these features? Will you pay extra for them? Or will you be old fashion and parallel park yourself?

mp3 Players 2007-04-05 07:26:00 There are many mp3 players out there and each one caters to a specific need. I recently bought a Sandisk e200 series mp3. I bought the e260 which has 4GB of memory. It is almost like a cross between Apple's Ipod and LG's Chocolate cell phone. It has a very tactile scroll wheel and is small, but very sturdy. The e260 has everything an Ipod has to offer except games, a calander and other features like that. But the e260 offers a FM radio and recorder. A 4 GB Ipod can run you about $189.99, but I bought my Sandisk at about $169.99 and then recieved a $30 mail in rebate through the company. The only complaint with my Sandisk is that it ocassionally freezes up and then I have to hold the "on" button for about eight seconds. Other then that, I love it.My only question is, are Ipods all what they are worked up to be? Are there any problems with Ipods that you find out only after you buy one? Or, are there any other mp3 players out there that are worth mentioning? Read more:Players
Windows Vista 2007-04-08 04:16:00 With change comes resistance and, most likely, a large bill for tech support. Microsoft's new opperating system promeses to be better and hopefully safer then XP. Security was one of Microsoft's main selling point on the new system. There are also many new features that should make life easier for Windows
opperators. But the change could be a hassle. First of all, changing opperating systems is usually like learning how to opperate a computer again. Plus there are other things you must do, like updating your computer, getting more RAM and memory. But hopefully Vista
will make all this worth your while. Read more:Windows Vista
Windows Media Player 11 2007-04-09 19:15:00 I have Windows
Media Player 10 on my Dell desktop. This is the only Windows music player I have ever known. Then I was prompted to update to Windows Media
Player 11. I complied, but when I checked out the new version I was horrified. I hated it! There isn't a list, there are lots or big, bulky folders. If you have many artists, songs, or albums, you have to scroll down forever to get through your whole collection. There is a nice search feature (like in Media Player 10). The overall design and look was OK, it was sleek and black. Luckily there is a very convenient "roll back" feature. This allows you to roll back to the previews version of Windows Media Player
. I have only run across one website that wouldn't allow me to view all the features because I didn't have Media Player 11 installed.Has anyone else updated? Do you like it, or hate it?
Game Systems 2007-04-08 23:42:00 There are many new game systems that recently came out. Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PS3. They come in a variety of prices shapes and features. The Wii has motions sensors in the controls so you can literally swing, punch or stab. But some of Nintendo's games have rather basic graphics. The PS3 is basically an upgrade on their previous version the PS2. And the Xbox 360 is also an upgrade version of Xbox. Which one do you think is best? Will you buy a Wii because it is cheapest, or will you buy the Xbox 360 because it has HD technology? Read more:Systems
Roomba 2007-04-11 00:48:00 Roombas are gaining popularity and their prices are slowly starting to fall. The Roomba is an automatic vacuuming device that is a robot. The robot senses when it bumps into a couch or a chair and then it keeps going in another direction. There are a few different models to choose from, starting at about $200. The Roomba is louder then you would like it to be, but it is amusing to watch. A very cool feature is that when it's batteries are low, it goes back to its base and recharges itself. Many people who own one like it but say there are some drawbacks. What are your thoughts? Would you buy one? Read more:Roomba
Instant Messenging 2007-04-13 00:49:00 MSN instant messenger was ranked the highest for free instant messengers. Qnext came in second and Google Talk came in third. I use AIM and I like it. When I chose to use AIM, I didn't consider which free service had the best voice quality or features. The only thing that mattered to me was what service all of my friends were using. What service do you use? Did you consider the quality of voice or what cool features it had?
PDA Phones 2007-04-12 01:31:00 PDAs keep getting better and stronger. Is it time that you get one? Now days they can view documents and some can edit them. They can browse the web and check e-mail, they have cameras and full keyboards. They are larger then regular phones, but are small enough to hold up to your face to talk. They also boast mp3 players and close to wired broadband speed for file transfers. Will PDAs replace cell phones? Next time you get a new plan or upgrade, will you get one? Read more:Phones
HDTV 2007-04-14 04:46:00 Nothing is better then watching the big game on a big screen HDTV
. But is it worth all the effort, and money, to do it? To watch HDTV you need a HDTV tuner, if you're source of HDTV is regular over-the-air waves and your TV set doesn't already have it. You will also need a special HDTV cable to connect your TV to your satelite or cable. There are also a few other things that will cost you extra money and some extra time. But, is it worth it to you? What TV service, such as cable or satelite, do you have? If you had to do it all over again, you would swich to HDTV?
IM Slang 2007-04-15 22:38:00 More on Instant Messaging today. As IMing has grown more and more popular, people have come up with their own language to go along with it. You may have heard of many of them such as, lol or ttyl. But has anyone taken it to far? Have you taken it too far? It can ruin the conversation when you keep having to ask them what their slang terms mean, but it can be too tiresome to type out what you have to say long hand. What are your thoughts?
